Small recap
"Welcome bac- is something wrong Hinata?" Tsunade had greeted them and as soon as she saw Hinata's red puffy eyes she pretty much ran to the sofa and asked what had happen "Neji happened." Naruto answered for her.
"Neji?" Tsunade then put the pieces together "You told him?" Hinata shook his head "He overheard me, I'm sorry Hinata".
Naruto told her "It's not y-your fault. It wouldn't have matter it he found it by me or you or anybody else, h-his reaction would have been the s-same, and that's what hurts the most." Tsunade furrowed her brows "Where is Neji?"
"I think he would have gone to Tenten house." Tsunade didn't want to make Hinata worry and leave to find him right away so she'd wait until tonight to talk to him.
Naruto's voice chimed, "Hinata will you be okay?" Hinata nodded "Yes, thank you Naruto." A smile appeared on the blue eyes walking sunshine "I'll text you tonight, take care of her Granny Tsunade"
Later that night, when Hinata had fallen asleep Tsunade looked at Kujo "So-" the dog tilted his head in curiosity "-you want to go visit Tenten?"
…
Tsunade knew better than to do something too dramatic because if Hinata knew about it…well she just doesn't want to get her upset.
Kujo looked up at the women who he knew had asked him something, all he heard had been visit and Tenten. So he figured why not but he needed to stay here with Hinata. When she had gotten here with the man who smelled like fox and ramen, she didn't seem fine.
A grunt escaped his throat "Yeah you're right, stay here. Is it okay if I take Kira and or Kilo?" Kujo softly barked and looked back, to see his brother older brother Kira (of him and Kilo; Kira was a bit builder and taller than them) make this way over to the front door where he and Tsunade (the women who has been named Tsunade by his masters was his guess, since they always called her that) were.
Kira looked at his brother and tilted his head; with a soft bark he asked why he had called him. Kujo gave a small bark replying that she was going to visit Tenten but his guess was that she didn't know the way, so she called him to show her the way.
Kira looked up at the women who needed him. Tsunade opened the door and let the dog out. Once Kira was out Tsunade closed the door and Kira began making his way over to the girl he always almost saw with Hinata and Neji and the girl who owns Kenta.
Tsunade kept her cool as she and Kira made their way to Tenten house, because she knew if she got worked up now, hell was going to break loose.
And last time that happened, it was in a bar when she saw a so called man hit a woman (his girlfriend) she didn't think twice got up from the bar and went up to the girl and asked if she was okay but when the boyfriend had told her to not butt in, Tsunade turned around kicked him in the balls, once the guy was falling while holding on to them she kneed him in the face.
It was only a few thinks that made her bring hell with her, one was a man without any jewels hit a women. Two, any men that made a girl cry and well anything in between.
Kira stopped in front of the house of the girl who smelled like Neji he barked getting Tsunade' attention "Are you sure?" she asked him, a growled came from Kira "Okay okay, sorry." Tsunade was about to knock…
…
(This is while Tsunade waited for Hinata to go to sleep)
"Neji, are you okay?" Tenten asked, he kept his gaze down but she could see that his eyes held a lot of emotions. Had something happen?
"Can I stay at you r place tonight, Ten?" she didn't ask what was wrong she just nodded and said "Yeah, sure."
"Neji-" Tenten looked at Neji, she saw anger and hurt in his pearl eyes "…" she stopped herself from asking what was wrong, she figured she'd give him some time "Yes?" she shook her head "It's nothing."
"What the hell is wrong with me?" he asked himself "I shouldn't have yelled at her!" he told himself followed by a deep sigh "Fucken Uchiha! I should have looked for him back in Oto!"
Neji kept talking to himself "What if I…no, the Hokage already said he wouldn't get a team to go look for him." he was thinking and getting madder "Fuck" he cursed out loud. Tenten stopped him by putting a hand on his shoulder "What's wrong Neji?" now she decided to finally ask. Neji looked at Tenten "Hinata she's-"
"What about her?" Tenten asked, she saw Neji' eyes go a bit of Byakugan but then it was gone "She's with child."
There was silence "She's pregnant?" her voice was calm. As much as Tenten was happy and jumping inside her head, she knew better than to show it especially right now.
Because knowing Neji she knew he would get a bit worked up because after all the father of the baby Hinata will be having is Sasuke; the traitor of the village.
"Yeah" okay now the inner Tenten was screaming and crying and making cartwheels and yelling but she had to keep herself calm…for now because she knew this was hard for Neji.
"You okay?" Neji shook his head "I yelled at her. I didn't mean too but I did I made her cry, Tenten. My own cousin I vowed to never hurt." Tenten looked up at Neji "-she didn't even want to see me."
"You need to understand that this is big news for her too, babe. It must have been a lot to take in-"
"But I shouldn't have yelled at her." Neji told her still with guilt in his eyes.
"Just give her a bit of time" Tenten told him. Once in her house, she was greeted by her mother and Dan who were sitting on the sofa watching T.V. Neji saw how Tenten didn't even look at her mom.
Tenten without any greetings she grabbed Neji hand and quickly went upstairs, after closing the door she heard Neji ask "Is something wrong?" Neji decided to change the subject because after long he isn't the kind of person to be like 'listen to my problems'
"No. I did see some cool knives in an antic shop. I haven't seen Lee in a while and oh yeah and my mom got engaged to Dan!" she told him.
…
Neji looked at her with his white pearl eyes "Ayame-" his voice was still rough but she could tell he was still upset "-I'm sorry, it's not my place to say." Neji; as mad as he was, he respected Ayame because whatever it was, she didn't say.
"Sorry-" Neji told her; still as much as he respected her he still needed to cool his head, so he left.
"Sorry, he's a bit hot headed" Ayame smiled but then frowned "-It's okay." She then watched Tenten go find Neji "I hope he takes it well" she told herself.
"If I where Neji where would I be?" Tenten asked herself "Oh right I'm not Neji. I'm Tenten, so I'd be in the small shops looking at the awesome weaponry" she was always fascinated by the different designs of knives, swords and guns, guess that's what she got from her father.
He died in the first Great War, when she was about maybe four as he protected his village but she remembered what he'd say "Guns don't kill people, people kill people." Sounded cheesy but he's right it's always the person who has control of their weapon what they do with it.
An elder lady smiled at Tenten and with a small awkward smiled Tenten asked "May I help you?"
"No Tenten but aren't you happy for your mother's engagement? Please tell your mom the Kiminari family says congratulations" Tenten looked at the old lady "Excuse me?"
"She got engage with that nice man from Amegakure um what's his name? Dan." Tenten looked at the lady again "Listen, I have to go."
…
Neji furrowed his brows "Why are you mad? I would think that you'd be happy for your mother." Neji saw Tenten sit on the bed near her beloved cat. Kenta purred in her hands.
"No Neji, how could my mom get engaged to him and not tell me. I had to hear it from some lady in the market! A total stranger, well the elder from the Kiminari family but you get what I'm saying!"
"You weren't aware of it?" Tenten shook her head "No! That's why I'm upset. I've always been close to my mom but after Dan came here for a mission, I feel like we've drifted apart."
"Don't get mad Tenten but I've seen your mother put the effort into getting you close to Dan but you avoid him, at all costs."
"No!" Tenten fell on the bed making Kenta jump off as she grabbed a pillow and put in on top of her face "I hate you" Neji heard her mumble under the pillow.
Neji sat next to her and took the pillow from her face "You know I'm right." He then had to asked "-wait, Dan is on a mission here in Konoha?" he'd picking up on what Tenten had said.
"Yeah. He never talks about it" she sat up and looked at him "-now that I think of it, I haven't seen him in his uniform." She stood up and looked at him "Anyway I'm not talking about him anymore."
Neji understood her in a way. "Maybe she was and is still afraid of-" Tenten cut him off "I don't bite. Why would she not tell me?" she looked at Neji "I said I'm not talking about it anymore."
"How long have they been dating?" Neji asked as he stood up from the bed. Something about this mission didn't add up. Tenten shrugged "I don't know a few months?" She groaned "Neji, how about we talk about something else."
Neji really never saw Dan around the village but when he did, he was usually with Tenten' mother in the house. Now he wasn't saying he didn't like the guy but it does seem strange that…
"Neji?" he heard his name being called "Hn?" she saw Tenten hand wave in front of his face "Want to go eat something?"
"Tenten, can I ask you something?" she looked at him with those beautiful brown eyes he loved so much.
"What?" Tenten looked at Neji, knowing that the next question would be about Dan.
"How did your mother meat Dan?"
One point for Tenten "Well my mom said Dan told her he used to live here in Konoha but then his parents died when he was younger and he moved to Ame-"
"The Rain country?" Neji questioned "Yeah and now he's here for the mission." she groaned once more "Neji I swear you ask one more thing about him I will throw you out the window."
Neji put a mental note to do some digging on this so called Dan from the Rain country and to not ask anything about Dan to his girlfriend because believe him when he said she'd do it.
"Okay, okay." He put his hands up as he surrendered "You want some sesame dumplings?" a smile appeared on her face "Now you're talking my language." Neji grabbed her hand and opened the door "Wait is Dan still downstairs?" Tenten asked.
Neji shook his head "Come on-" Neji gently pulled her "Fine, I'm doing it for the dumplings. Wait" Tenten stopped before she was out the door "-let me just feed Kenta." She said as she headed back to her room "Meet you outside." Neji told her.
Neji was at the top of the stairs when he heard Dan on the phone "Yes, I will obtain the sword when I get to the tower. Yes, everything is according to plan."
"Sword?" Neji thought to himself but as if he didn't hear anything he began to make his way down "-Yes mom. Love you too." Neji's eyes furrowed "I thought his parents died" and noticed the change of his voice.
When Dan hung up he smiled at Neji "Ah, you must be Tenten' boyfriend." Neji nodded "You must be Dan-"
Dan extended his hand "Dan Akiyama" Neji looked at the men of about 40-42 years of age. He had his forehead protector of the Rain country covering his forehead. Dark brown bangs that were cheek length and the rest of his hair was short length and messy and green eyes.
Neji never extended his hand as they heard Kiyoko; Tenten mom call "Dan?" both men heard Neji voice "Mrs. Okazaki" Neji saw Tenten' mother, her brown hair was tied in just one bun unlike Tenten.
Mrs. Okazaki however had light hazel color eyes unlike Tenten who had a dark drown color. They were so much alike.
"Hi Neji, are you and Tenten going out?" Kiyoko asked him.
"Yes ma'am." Neji could see that Kiyoko was having a rocky relationship with Tenten "I hope you have fun." Her eyes were a bit sad when she said that.
Steps were heard from coming down the stairs "I'm ready-" Tenten stopped and sucked in a little breath before she walked past her mom and Dan and made her way outside.
"Excuse us." Kiyoko tried outing on a brave face but Neji could see right through it "Please take care of her." Neji nodded before he left out the door. After closing it and making his way out he was surprise to see "Lady Tsunade?"
…
Tsunade stopped in front of the door and looked down at Kira "What?" Kira growled "Look it's not that I don't like Neji, I don't know him-" she shook her head and thought 'I'm talking to a dog.' Then she shrugged it off 'I talk to Tonton, and she's a piglet' she frowned "-but he making Hinata upset is what got under my skin."
This so called Lady Tsunade, he didn't know what to think of her. Kuro had called him telling him that they were going to see Neji because he was with his mate called Tenten. He'd asked Kuro why and Kuro had responded that Lady Tsunade didn't know the way.
Now they were here and she wouldn't knock and he wasn't good at telling time but they had been out here for more than a squirrel looking for a nut and finding a new spot to bury it.
He growled at her and when she finally was about to knock when it opened as Tenten came out and she didn't look too happy.
"Oh Lady Tsunade?" after a few seconds Neji had come out and Tsunade said "Hello Neji" Neji heard her voice and let me say it wasn't so warm and friendly "Um Lady Tsunade is there something wrong?" he asked.
Tenten slowly backed away, knowing this was about Hinata "Not really, I'm just here to warn you that if you make Hinata cry again-"
Neji clenched his jaw and then unclenched "I'm sorry." Tsunade looked at the Hyuuga man "Listen Neji, you need to accept the fact that the traitor of the Hidden Leaf IS the father of her baby." she saw the anger in his eyes but she was well aware that that anger is because of Sasuke.
"- accept the fact that she'll be a single mother." Tsunade smiled "-but she's not alone. She has her high school friends and she's got the dogs and most importantly she's got Hanabi and Hiashi and You."
"Is she okay?" Neji asked her "You want the truth?" Neji didn't say anything "She'll pretend to not cry when she has because the reaction you gave her hurt her the most. So you need to apologize to her and accept everything I told you because if you can't accept that Sasuke isn't coming back then I don't think she'll ever be okay and that will only stress her out and I don't want that, for both Hinata and her baby."
"I came with Tenten because she didn't want to see me." Neji told her, sadness in his eyes.
Tsunade shook her head "I don't think she didn't want to see you but…it is all a bit too much for her now. She wanted to tell you herself but-" she shrugged "-I guess Naruto does have a bog mouth."
Neji looked at Tsunade as she told him "Look Neji, Hinata is like a bridge-" Tsunade pointed at him and Tenten "-but the beams that support her are you two and everyone around her."
Neji looked at Tsuande but Tsunade raised her hand "Don't feel bad at yourself either Neji. Just give her a bit of time but you approach her first and approach her gently because after all you know her better than anyone else."
Tsunade smiled "It seems as though you have plans of your own, so I'll let you two go. Enjoy your night."
Tenten didn't interfere with both Tsunade and Neji. She only stood then and listened to what Tsunade had to say to Neji. As much as it hurt her to see Neji like this, Tsunade had a point. Maybe it wasn't her business because she had problems of her own but…
"Tenten?" she heard her name being called and she mentally shook her head "Yes?"
"Ready for the dumplings?" Neji' voice was quieter "Yeah, are you okay?" she held on to his hand.
"I will be. Tsunade is right about everything though-" he felt her squeeze his hand and he looked to the side and saw her smile "Babe no matter what happens just know that I'm here and I know that Hinata doesn't or won't hate you."
Neji bent down and kissed her forehead "-come on it's already like seven o'clock, I need dumplings." Neji nodded.
On their way to the small dumpling store near Tea Avenue, where tea shops are everywhere Neji saw General Genma Shirauni.
"General Shirauni" Genma turned to see Neji with his girl, Tenten. Genma nodded at Neji a signature move of most men in the ANBU core to say hello.
"Major General Hyuuga. Tenten, what brings you here?"
"Dumplings" Tenten smiled "What about you?"
"Dumplings for Major General Sarutobi-" Neji looked at Genma "-actually they're for Kurenai. Asuma sent me." Genma smiled "-you haven't forgotten she's eight months pregnant?" Both Neji and Tenten shook their head "It's almost eight at night and she wants dumplings at this time."
Tenten looked at him "What was it last time?" Genma moved the senbon needle from the right to the left using his tongue and lips "Rice cake and herring."
Tenten smiled at the weird combination of sweetness and well fishiness "Well it must not have been her that wanted them." Neji looked at Genma "So Sarutobi is with her?" Genma nodded "He didn't want to leave her alone."
"General Shirauni, since I haven't visited Kurenai recently if you'd mind Neji and I could give her the dumplings for you." Tenten asked him.
Genma had no problem with that "Hyuuga?" Genma looked at Neji and he looked at Tenten "Of course, go order what you'd like Ten." Genma smiled "Kurenai wanted red bean paste dumplings and sesame dumplings."
Tenten smiled back at both men "Okay, be right back." she said as she went and ordered. Neji looked back at Genma "Have you seen a Rain country ANBU around the village?"
Genma looked at Neji "Not that I can remember. Why?" Neji looked back at Tenten "Have you seen a man in about his early 40-42, with the forehead protector of the Rain country covering his forehead. Dark brown bangs about cheek length and green eyes."
Genma furrowed his brows and shook his head "Who are you trying to get Intel on?"
"His name is Dan Akiyama" Neji furrowed his brows as he said "But I feel that isn't his real name."
Genma looked at Neji, who ever this so called Dan Neji needed to find, he must be very important. "I'll see if I can find something, since you're taking the dumplings to Kurenai."
"Thanks." Neji told him. "One more thing, is there a sworn that the Rain country would be interested in?" Genma looked at Neji. A sword? "I'll look into it" he then smiled as Tenten approached them "Thanks again Tenten."
"Yeah, no problem and we'll tell Asuma for you, so he doesn't make you do one hundred push-ups"
Genma played with the senbon that he had in his mouth before he smirked and nodded "Thanks again" he looked at Neji once more before he headed to the opposite direction.
Genma couldn't help but think of only one sword the Rain country would want to obtain, but then again they were only stories he'd heard as a child.
"Ah, I hope Kurenai isn't upset about us not visiting her lately." Tenten said "I'm sure she won't."
They made their way over to both Asuma' and Kurenai apartment and knocked at the door and as it opened both heard Asuma say "It's about time Genma." But his brows rose as he saw "Major General Hyuuga?" where the hell was Genma? Where the hell are the dumplings!
"Major General Sarutobi, we came here on behalf of Genma with dumplings." Tenten told him. Asuma sighed but smiled "As long as my girls gets dumplings. Come on in."
Tenten smiled as she saw Kurenai on the sofa rubbing her belly "Kurenai, hi" giving the dumplings to Neji she smiled and headed over towards her.
"I still can't believe Asuma made a nice catch with you Kurenai." Tenten told her as she smiled.
Asuma laughed "What can I say?" he shrugged "-still got game."
Kurenai looked at Asuma "Did Genma bring the dumplings?" Tenten shook her head "We bumped into him and he told us about you wanting dumplings and since we were getting dumplings and wanted to see you so we figured we could bring them instead of Genma." Kurenai smiled "Thank you"
Tenten couldn't help but ask if she could touch her belly. Kurenai nodded "Wow, I think she kicked"
"She wants dumplings." After about an hour of talking and catching up Kurenai yawned "Oh excuse me"
"You need to rest, Kurenai." Neji stood up "I'm fine" she said "It's best we go, you need to rest" Neji told her once more.
"You've been up since ten o'clock, honey." Kurenai stood up and still rubbing her belly and said "okay okay." She smiled at Neji and Tenten "Thanks for coming."
"Goodnight" both Neji and Tenten told both Kurenai and Asuma.
"Good night" both replied. Making their way back to their house Neji felt as though someone was watching them. He put his arm around Tenten and kissed her forehead and took the time to look around his surroundings.
Nothing. He should have brought one of the Doberman.
"Will you be staying over tonight?" Tenten asked him "If your mother is okay with it?"
"My mom won't care" she said. And even if she did, Dan was already staying in the house so…having Neji over wouldn't matter to him.
"Tenten" Neji needed to get Tenten to understand that…he first needed to know more about this so called Dan.
"I don't want to talk about it Neji" Neji shook his head "I was going to say I don't have any clothes to sleep in."
"I think you have two pants and like three shirts in my house, so you're good"
Neji dropped the subject because he didn't want to make another person he loved cry "Okay."
Once back in the house Tenten they headed upstairs "Your mom must be out-"
Tenten rolled her eyes "Want to watch a movie?" Neji shook her head "I think I would want to sleep, if you don't mind? It's been a long day."
Tenten looked at him and nodded "Okay" she understood Neji "I'll get you your things." she headed over to her closet and opened the bottom drawer of it and pulled out a grey shirt and grey workout/sport shorts "Here." she said as she handed them to him.
Neji took them and changed in the bathroom but stopped as he opened the door to see Tenten in one of his black tee shirts and well that was pretty much it besides her should he say lingerie or underwear? Sitting on the bed on her knees.
"Tenten?" A smiled appeared on her face and a blush couldn't help but appear on her soft cheeks.
"-You look beautiful-" he was pretty much out of breath at the sight of her girlfriend with his shirt on.
…
Tsunade was now back in the Hyuuga household. It was almost eleven o'clock "Well I think it's time to sleep, don't you think Kira?" Kira gave a low grunt "Good night" she locked the doors and headed upstairs using the light of her phone. Once in her room she kicked her shoes off and didn't even bother on changing she was too tired.
…
Gaara walked around the village after two weeks of hard work from everyone, the village seemed to be back to normal. He finally had his phone with him, fully charged. He missed Shukaku, even for a big strong dog; he knew Shukaku would be crying over him. He also missed…Hinata.
Gaara looked at his phone; did he dare call or text Hinata? While he was there, after she had fallen asleep during the movie he was watching with Tenten and Hinata he had given Tenten his number after putting Hinata on her bed.
…
The movie had ended a bit after 10:00 pm. Gaara looked at the next been bag and noticed Hinata asleep. She'd had a long day. "It was a long day for her" Tenten told him with a small sigh "Guess she was tired."
Tenten didn't want to wake her up "Gaara-" Tenten looked at him "-would you mind helping me-" she made motions with her hands pretty much saying 'please put her in bed' she didn't want to be like…oh heck, "-put Hina onto the bed."
Gaara didn't even bother on responding, be bent down and slowly tucked his hand under her waist and behind her neck, slowly picked her up; she was really light. She twitched and stir a bit but didn't wake up she carried her bridal style and out her in bed "Thanks" Tenten said as she pulled out the covers.
Gaara laid her down and saw her furrowed her brows a bit "Sasuke-" she said "Poor Hina" Tenten said with a sad smile 'Sasuke?' Gaara asked himself 'Who's Sasuke?' Gaara saw Tenten cover Hinata with her cover and sighed "Thanks again."
"Tenten?" the brown haired girl look at the Kazekage "Yes?" she saw…nothing in his eyes, don't get it wrong she wasn't saying he didn't have emotions but well "Would you give this to Hinata?" Tenten saw Gaara pull out a piece of paper "What is it?"
"My cellphone number, in case anything happens" Tenten smiled "Of course-" Tenten took it then she extended her hand "Your phone, please" Gaara looked at her "-you'll need hers, I know she wouldn't be mad at me for giving it to you" Gaara gave her his phone after about a minute or so Hinata had his and he had her.
"Good night Tenten, thank you"
…
It was a beautiful morning, the sun was raising and the cool sandy breeze felt nice. Gaara hadn't had the time to call either Hinata or the Kazekage himself, a few messages via Takamaru, their messenger hawk. Things in Suna seemed better now, security was in high alert.
After the first week where they had nine Konoha ANBU here to help, the Kazekage had thanked him and had said that they could handle it now, making the soldiers leave back home.
He just regretted not giving Kakashi a letter he had written to Hinata. He looked at his phone once more before he looked for her contact.
He looked at his phone for a good five minutes before he received a message…from her. Was she reading his mind? He couldn't help but smile.
Good morning Gaara. How have you been? I hope you're doing well. Shukaku misses you. I know you must be busy but I am a bit worried, maybe I can visit Suna soon.
Smile still upon his face he replied because that meant that she had saved his number.
Good morning Hinata, I've been doing well, thank you. How are you doing? I miss him too. ANBU here has been too tight to send someone but I know he's in good hands. Thank you for thanking care of Shukaku, Hinata. Worried about what? Don't be. However I would like for you to visit Suna, we will be waiting with open arms.
Hinata woke up; looking on her small clock she saw it was 8:15 she woke up with a smile, even though thoughts of last night flew around her head. Neji reaction was drilled inside. A whimper made her come back to her room "Good morning, everyone."
Hinata' response where a few barks. Shukaku however was nowhere to be seen "Shukaku?" she called him as she got up from her bed but as she got up, she ran to the bathroom and threw' up. Tears swelled up in her eyes.
Tsunade heard the door handle giggle and a whine, "Hinata-" she got up and ran towards her room, the door was always a bit open, her guess was for the dogs, so they could come in and out in the night. she wasn't in bed but she heard gagging sounds from the bathroom.
"It's okay, Hinata it's okay." Tsunade told her in a soothing voice and did circular motions on her back, Hinata already had her hair in a loose ponytail. After all Hinata is over a month pregnant and it looked like the morning sickness finally kicked in. Everyone is different some get it early as three weeks or late as a month.
After she was done, Tsunade saw her caring lavender eyes filled with tears "I'd ask how you're doing but I see your morning sickness came in." Hinata wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. "It's get better, I promise." Hinata took small breaths and looked at Tsunade "Th-thank you"
After brushing her teeth and used some mouth wash, she saw Shukaku with her phone. I whine escaped, Tsunade looked at the dog "Maybe he wants to talk to Gaara." at the sound of Gaara' name, the Bullmastiff floppy ears went up and up into his hind legs.
Hinata took her phone from his mouth, Shukaku was careful not to slobber too much on her phone but it also helped that she had a folding leader cover which had a sunflower cover; Hanabi had given it to her.
"I'd ask if you want to eat something but-" Hinata shook her head "Maybe later, thank you." Tsunade smiled "I'll bring you some water." after that Tsunade left downstairs to the kitchen.
A whine escaped from Shukaku once again. Hinata then looked at her phone and bit her lip. "Should I call him or text him?" she thought. Maybe he'd be too busy to answer. She'd saved his number after Tenten had given it to her the following morning, the morning Gaara had put her on her bed.
…
"Morning Tenten, did you sleep well?"
"Mhm did you?" Hinata nodded I did "Umm did you put me…I mean did you help me get to the bed?" the browned haired girl shook her head "No, it was actually Gaara" she saw Hinata redden up a bit "Oh"
Tenten smiled "He was a total gentleman don't worry-" Hinata didn't think Gaara would be the kind of guy. She saw Tenten pull out a piece of paper from her pajama pants pocket and handed it to Hinata "What's this?"
"Gaara' number" Hinata looked at her. Tenten shook her head, "Oh no it's not for me! He told me to give it to you." she smiled "-he said in case anything happens, in a way he pretty much said he'd be there for you"
"Tenten?" Hinata took it "Come on, save it, you never know."
Tenten got up and stretched "Mind if I shower first Hina?" she nodded "No, go on Tenten" like I said before; with staying more than once here, she's left a few change of clothes, just in case.
Hinata shook her head as Tenten offence to do the bed "No, it's fine. Go shower Ten" she heard the water running as she finished the bed.
Hinata grabbed her phone and dialed Gaara' number, saving it under…well Gaara. After a few minutes, she decided to text him.
But what? Hinata headed back to her bed and sat down, her head turned to see Tsunade with a glass of water "Here." Hinata smiled as she grabbed the cup from her and smiled "Thank you." once Tsunade left again she put the cup on the small table and grabbed her phone.
She texted him a good morning, a how was he doing, how Shukaku missed him that she was a bit worried about him and that maybe she could visit Suna soon.
His reply was within minutes. That he was doing fine, that he missed Shukaku as well but that he was in good hands he told her not to worry and that how he would be waiting for her with open arms.
When she read the part of how was she, she replied.
I've been doing better, thank you. He was actually the one who gave me my cellphone. You're welcome; it's just nice seeing him happy. Um well it's just…the phone call and Temari and the ANBU in the waterfall. I know it's confidential and I have no right in asking or you answering, I just want to know if everything is really okay, that's all. Thank you, hopefully it'll be soon.
Gaara re-read her message and couldn't help but frown, he didn't know Hinata as much as he would like to know her but for the few days he was there he found out that she loved cinnamon rolls, she's thoughtful, caring and on top of that she had those beautiful soft light lavender eyes.
Temari is fine. Suna was just going through a tough moment, that's all. Suna's hot days have become nice cool days; it'd be a good day to visit, if you are still interested.
Hinata smiled and looked down from her bed toward the dogs? "Shukaku?" the large sandy dog looked at Hinata "-How would you like to go see Gaara?" Shukaku gave her a loud and happy "Woof!"
Hinata gently stood up and headed downstairs. Hanabi was pouring some orange juice "I heard from Lady Tsunade. How are you feeling?"
"Better, thank you." she bit her bottom left lip "What are you thinking?" Hanabi knew that when Hinata bit her right side, she was nervous but when she bit her left side, it meant that she was thinking of something or someone and or wanted something.
"Um well I was texting Gaara-"
"What!" Hanabi couldn't help but smile "How is he doing, my guess is that he's not coming back, huh?" she asked her. Hinata frowned but a smile appeared "He's doing fine, he misses Shukaku."
Tsuande looked at Hinata and smiled, she knew where this was going "You want to go to Suna?" Hinata smiled and looked to her right, where Shukaku was sitting "Shukaku does miss Gaara and well since he can't come for him or send someone, I figure we go and take him."
"When would you like to go?" Tsunade asked.
"Better question is can I go?" Hanabi frowned; she then looked at Hinata "-Konohamaru and I were going to the great Naruto Bridge-" Hanabi slightly shook her head "I still can't believe Naruto of all people got named after a bridge. So when are you planning on going?"
She didn't know the whole mission but she stopped herself from saying that Sasuke was in that mission as well.
"Well what did Gaara say?" Tsunade asked. Hinata looked at her phone "He says days over there are nice and cool." Tsunade looked at her clock it was only 9:03 "I say you text him a see you soon."
"Huh? Why are you guys going today?" Hanabi frowned "Today is Friday, the day me and Konohamaru are planning to go to Dork Bridge."
Tsunade then looked at her "You still haven't told us about your last date to Otafuku town." Hanabi didn't look at her "Well, I'll tell you on Monday."
"Monday? Why Monday?" Tsunade asked "Well, he and I-"
"Whoa wait a minute, you're telling me that you and Konohamaru are going to be alone after visiting the bridge?" Hanabi shook her head "Oh Lady Tsunade, Konohamaru isn't like that. Plus Naruto is going with us."
Tsunade raised a perfect blonde eyebrow "-Are you lying to me?" Hanabi shook her head "You think we were raised like that." Tsunade couldn't help but smile at the girl' spunk "-he wanted to go visit Tazuna, the bridge maker."
Shukaku would love to see you.
It's still early, if you want to come today. You can spend the weekend here, Temari really want to see you and Hanabi again.
Hinata thought about it and now that she thought about it, a few days away from Konoha would be great for her.
"We can leave in an hour?" Hinata heard Tsunade say.
"What about my dad?" Hinata asked.
"What about me?"
"We were thinking of visiting Suna." Hiashi looked at the Bullmastiff and up at Hinata, she did need a few days off. And because of Gaara leaving so early, they didn't get to really get to the K-9 center.
But thinking of Hinata and how she needed a few days to just relax, he could always go next week and do a last check on the K-9 center.
"Well, I think that's a good idea." Hiashi had been to Suna before, so he figured it can be a girl' weekend.
"I'll watch over the dogs" Hinata looked at her father "Y-you're not going?" Hiashi shook his head "No, baby I have a few things to do here. Will you be back tonight?"
"Well we were thinking of a three day Suna trip." Hiashi sigh "Well I guess my only company will be the dogs, since Hanabi, Konohamaru and Naruto are going to see the Great Naruto Bridge."
Hinata looked at him "Don't worry about me baby, go and have fun." Hinata couldn't help but smile "We can go out for dinner when we come back?"
"And I can't wait" Hiashi kissed his daughters forehead "How are you feeling?"
"Good" Hinata knew he was asking about her pregnancy. She touched her small belly. She was surprise to feel that is was small, well considering that she was only one month pregnant.
"Well I say you need to pack your thinks then-" Hiashi looked at Tsunade "-please take care of her."
Hanabi took out her phone as the sound of an incoming message "Oh, its Naruto."
"You be careful too, Hanabi" Hiashi told his youngest "I will and don't worry I won't be in the same room at either Naruto or Konohamaru." Hiashi smiled "I trust them both and I trust you. Just make sure Naruto stays out of trouble."
Hanabi nodded "I will. I'll see you Monday as well daddy." Hanabi yelled from the bottom of the stairs to be have a save trip and to say hi to Temari, Gaara and Kankuro and with a smile and a wave of her hand Hanabi grabbed her bag and headed out side where both Naruto and Konohamaru were waiting for her.
Hinata grabbed one of her small suitcase and put four pair of clothes; three capris pants and a long sleeve shirt and two short sleeve shirts and two sweaters, of course she was already wearing one.
She put an extra pair of shoes some socks and she couldn't forget her underwares. Other than that, she knew she could find things like shampoo and toothbrush and past over there so she wasn't worried.
It was now 9:40 and Tsunade smiled as she took the keys to the Pearl Cadillac Escalade, Hiashi said it was okay to take it. Tsunade thanked him; she knew Hiashi had the 2011 black Cadillac CTS. Once they out the luggage in the truck. Shukaku as well as Kuro got up in the truck.
"I wish I could take you all but-" Hinata frowned "Maybe next time okay?" Kimi and the rest wined but bark as agreeing with her. However Kira didn't think it was fair that the pig went.
…
After both of his girls had left, he had left straight to the Hokage tower. He didn't want to take the chances of anything happing in Suna (again) so he knew the best thing to do was send maybe one or two ANBU to keep an eye out.
He knew Tsunade wasn't just a nurse; she's a Legendary Sanin; a high top ranked ANBU of the leaf; a-Hokage-kind-of-type of ANBU. She along with two other are called Legendary Sanin; Orochimaru and Jiraya.
"Hiashi nice to see you. What bring you here today?" Hiashi bowed in respect "Take a seat. How is Hinata?"
"She is doing well, thank you. I just came here to ask for a favor."
"Of course. What is it?"
Hiashi looked at him "Tsunade and Hinata are on their way to Suna but ever since the attack-" Sarutobi put his hand up "I understand your worries. I will a two man ANBU team to head over to Suna as soon as possible."
"Thank you and who might they be?" Hiashi asked in curiosity
…
"We're almost there, so are you still texting Gaara?" Tsunade asked, she only looked for a second and wasn't surprise to see Hinata blush but her answer was a yes.
I'm glad you're coming. I'll see you soon.
Hinata smiled at his message and relies a simple see you soon and put her phone away.
"So what do you think of the Gaara?" Hinata was surprise by Tsunade question "Um well, he's sweet-"
Tsunade smiled "Do you think he's cute?"
Hinata bit her right side of the lip as she thought about the small close-up moments they had shared when he was staying with them, the small walk they had.
Her heart had flipped and skipped too many times for Sasuke and she didn't think that it would do that again, guess she was wrong.
It's been about a month and a half since Sasuke left and a much as she wanted it all to be a bad dream and just wake up to see him smiled at her as they shared the same bed…she knew that wasn't going to happen.
The truth is still hard but she had sworn that she wasn't going to be shedding tears anymore, not for him. Sasuke was the past. Her future is about her baby! And only her baby, so why going to Suna and thinking of seeing Gaara again made her feel all nervous and happy all at the same time?
She yet hadn't answered Tsunade' question; did she think Gaara was cute? Cute is something you'd descried a puppy or a baby. No, Gaara isn't cute. He is a man and the only word she could come up to describe a man is sexy, hot and manly okay so she had a few words to describe Gaara.
"He's handsome, I'm not going to d-deny that." she finally answered Tsunade.
…
Gaara made his way to the front gate (entrance) of the village.
Temari smiled as she saw her younger brother making his way towards the entrance of the village, he'd told her that Hinata was on her way to Suna and how she had Shukaku.
Temari knew that Shukaku was important to him, don't get it wrong, she loved Shukaku but she knew that Shukaku held a special place in Gaara' heart.
Even though Gaara wasn't a person to show emotions, she knew that being Kazekage at a young age was tough and that when Gaara was having a tough day, Shukaku would always be there to somehow bring his mood up.
Gaara had told the ANBU to open the gates "There is a car approaching." Gaara was surrounded by ANBU as the car became to a stop. "Who goes there?" an ANBU asked since the windows were tinted dark and you really couldn't see who was in the inside.
"It's okay. They're from the hidden leaf." Gaara said, he' recognized the license plate number and truck. The Sand ANBU let the truck by and Gaara headed inside followed by the ANBU.
Once in the Kazegake tower, Gaara bent down to pet his beloved dog, Shukaku and as big as Shukaku was, he cried as if though he was a puppy "I missed you too, boy." Gaara could see from the corner of his eye Hinata smiling and the blonde women next to her.
After Shukaku had settled down the other ANBU left leaving only Mejor General Baki, Gaara' bodyguard and right hand man. Gaara looked at the blonde women "Sorry I haven't introduce myself, I'm"
"I think I'd know who the Kazekage is. I'm Lady Tsunade; Hinata' private nurse and Legendary Sanin of the leaf."
"Private Nurse?" Gaara couldn't help but ask as he looked at Hinata "Is something wrong? Are you allergic to anything I should know?" Gaara asked in concerned. Hinata shook her head "No, um well-" Tsunade could see that she felt a bit weird to tell the Kazekage.
"Oh Baki, do you mind coming with and showing where Hinata and I will be staying? I'm a bit tired." Baki looked at Gaara and nodded as Gaara gave the nod of approval to take her. Leaving both Gaara and Hinata in the Kazekage tower.
"I'll take Hinata." Hinata looked at Tsunade as she smiled "I'll see you in a bit." After Baki left with Tsunade and Tonton Hinata took short breaths.
"Something wrong?" Gaara offered Hinata a seat, and she took it, she then looked at up Gaara "I'm-" but stopped as Gaara bent down and held on to both armrests of the chairs.
Hinata could feel her cheeks heat up, he was somewhat close to her but she didn't want him to move away. She felt save around him.
Gaara had a good foot on Sasuke or so she looked at his turquoise eyes, the black rings that were tanuki-like black eye rings he'd been born with but that didn't make him any less attractive.
It was as if thought having no eyebrows, the kanji word for love tattooed on the left side of his forehead and rings around his eyes made Gaara; well Gaara. A very sexy and attractive Kazekage.
Gaara could see that whatever was wrong with Hinata had her a bit nervous, he bent down and grabbed onto the armrest of the chairs and looked at her beautiful light lavender moon-like eyes "It's okay, you don't have to tell me."
"-As long as you're okay, that's what matters to me." this words brought her and Hinata pretty much melted, hearing that from him his deep voice had become softer around her and with only so much distance between them "Hinata-"
She took a small breath "I'm-" she couldn't say it, it was as if thought he throat had closed on her. Hinata didn't know how to say it so still looking up at him she grabbed one of his hands and slowly put in on her small swollen belly.
Gaara looked at the lavender eyes he now loved so much. Every night he'd look up in the sky and saw the moon shine, he'd always vision his eyes, sure her eyes here light lavender but the moon shined as bright as her eyes did, just like they were shining now.
She once again said 'I'm-' but stopped, he moved from her gaze down to his hands, since one of hers was grabbing his. He didn't pull back, I mean why would he? Hinata's hand was soft and warm against his skin.
She held on to it until he saw that she was moving it towards her stomach. Gaara' eyes widen a bit as he felt her belly swollen "Hinata?" she's pregnant! His eyes looked back at Hinata "I'm about a month in-"
Gaara hand was still on her belly, with Hinata hand on top "-It's Sasuke." He heard her sad voice.
What was he supposed to say to her? What did you say to that? I mean he could ask if she's okay because I mean after all Sasuke had left her. He moved his hand away and rested it back on the arm rest, he felt himself squeeze the wooden frame with so much strength he felt as though he was going to crack it.
Hinata could see Gaara eyes were still in a bit of shock, he'd moved his hand back on the arm rests "I'm okay Gaara." Hinata smiled a real smile. She was done faking smiles or crying over someone she knew was really gone.
Hinata looked down and saw that his knuckles were turning white; she took the opportunity to grab onto his forearm and looking up "Gaara?"
Her soft angel voice called his name "I'm okay, really." He felt her small hand hold onto his both his forearms that were tattooed, on left forearm was a tattoo that said Why don't you leave now? It's not like you're going to stay.
On his right forearm tattoo was an hourglass the wooded part of it looked like tree trucks as tree branches were both on bottom or top of the hourglass with the bottom glass broken, making the sand spill out.
His flexed muscles seemed to relax as he slowly released the arm rest of the chair, making the blood once more flow in his fingers. Gaara let go of the wooden armrest.
He stood up straight and saw Hinata stood up as well, she was touching her belly "I cried when I found out I was pregnant." Gaara eyes saw her smile, sadly but smiling she continued "-I was afraid of what my father would say or think because after all the father of my baby betrayed the village."
Gaara heart felt heavy as he listen to her but said…couldn't say anything "-I didn't think my father would accept the fact that I was pregnant with his child." She smiled "-but he didn't. He told me I would be a great mother and happy because he was going to be a grandfather. Hanabi was happy too."
She looked at him "and by the end of the week-" smile still upon her face she said "-all my high friends and their family were congratulating me." Hinata could read Gaara face expressions and when he felt her belly, he saw anger and the feeling of I-need-to-bring-him-back, just like she had seen Naruto' eyes.
Hinata shook her head and took a step closer towards Gaara, who was sitting on his desk "I know you're thinking of sending a search party for him, I can see it in your eyes."
Gaara sat down on his desk, anger fueled inside of him. He saw her touch her belly and he listened as he told her about her pregnancy. Everyone was happy for her, everyone sounded like they are supporting her.
In his head he knew that Suna was still in a bit of shock after the attack but maybe he could spare three or four ANBU to search for Sasuke and bring him back but then he heard Hinata say how she could see it in his eyes.
"Sasuke left, Gaara. There's no changing that. I'm done crying for Sasuke or keeping my hopes up that one day either Konoha or Suna ANBU will be bringing him back because even if they do, he will never see my baby."
Gaara could see Hinata' mother instinct kick in "I don't need him, when I have my family and friends." Gaara got up from the desk only to be inches away from her; she was so petite that he face was just below his collar bone tattoo that said Self-Loving Demon.
"I'll be here for the two of you, remember that Hinata" Hinata didn't know what had happened because the next thing she did was close her eyes, smile and hug him, wrapping her arms around his abs.
Gaara heard a low "Thank you" as Hinata hugged him. He didn't say anything as he slightly wrapped his arms around her shoulders.
….
Hinata was now back in Konoha, in her room unpacking her clothes as she heard a knock at the door "Come in."
It was Hanabi she walked in with a smile and she asked "So how was the trip?"
"It was good. Yours?"
Okay okay, I think I'm done here. I hope to see reviews, I feel like im somehat back on track and won't take long to update, so bear with me okay?
