Yugi's Pov
We all made our way inside the tomb; all the traps still being disabled due to Yami's Shadow magic from before.
"Well, this brings back some memories." Heba muttered from my side
[You laid me to rest brother] Prince Yugi commented floating beside me
"There was no one else I would trust to do it, you are my brother after all, you deserved nothing less." Heba said folding his arms as we entered the tomb room, Yami took a hold of my hand and led me across the walkway to the platform that held Prince Yugi's tomb
[These traps are so intricate, I'm impressed] Prince Yugi commented, floating over to look at some of the traps
"Well, I had Marik and Bakura set the traps, I helped a little, I wasn't able to do much, I oversaw what they were doing most of the time." Yami explained as Prince Yugi floated back over
"Yami, you were grieving, there was on way you were up to the task of setting the traps, Marik and Bakura was more than happy to step in to help you." Atem responded
[You were grieving that much?] Prince Yugi asked
"Of course I was, I loved you, I lost you for three days and then I got you back, only to lose you again." Yami responded harshly. I sighed
"Yami, you don't need to be so harsh." He looked at me and sighed before looking back at Prince Yugi
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped like that." Yami apologised, Prince Yugi smiled, looking amused
[You always were a bit of a hot head Yami, I practically grew up with you, so I know how you are when you're upset, so don't apologise, I know how hard those days were for you, I was right there with you, right up until the day you passed.] Prince Yugi responded, making Yami and Atem look confused
"What do you mean?" Atem asked
[My spirit was attached to the arm band I gave you for your birthday Yami, it was the last thing I touched before I passed, you put it on the first moment you could, my spirit attached to the band and I saw it as an opportunity to keep an eye on you, give you a nudge when you needed it]
"Every time I looked to the gods for guidance?" Yami asked, Prince Yugi smiled
[That was me, you needed a push and I was readily available to give you that, besides, I knew you better than anyone else, who better than me to help you?] Prince Yugi responded, making Yami chuckle as we reached the end of the walk way. We walked into the tomb and stopped, and I shivered, remembering my last unpleasant experience in this tomb. I felt hands grip my shoulders and squeeze
"Are you alright Yugi?" Atem asked, I nodded
"It's just, waking up here, tied up, and then waking up again hanging off the edge with just a single rope, it was pretty scary, so it's kinda put a low mood on what should be a place of memories, kinda makes me want to not come back." I sighed
"I'm sorry Yugi." Heba commented, I nodded and we all walked across the pathway and onto the platform that held the tomb and all the belongings, Heba walked along the stands looking at each item, sighing, made me a bit sad, knowing that he remembered all of his past, while I barely remembered any of it
[You seem disheartened] Prince Yugi commented
((Are you alright Aibou?)) Yami asked through the link
(I guess I'm a little bit jealous)
((Of what?))
(Heba remembers all of his past, while I barely remember anything of it, and looking at these walls doesn't help me remember, I guess I wish I could remember as easily as Heba does)
((Oh Aibou, I know it will be hard for you, but you will remember, it'll take some time, but look at me, I spend 5000 years trapped in the millennium puzzle, I came out with no memories what so ever, and you helped me, you helped me get them back, so I'll help you, doesn't matter how long it takes, we'll do it together.)) I smiled at him and squeezed his hand that was still holding mine
(Thank you Yami, I really needed to hear those words)
[Why do I feel like you two just had an entire conversation without actually talking?] Prince Yugi asked looking confused
"Oh, they have a mind link, it forged while Yami was still in the puzzle, it was a way for them both to communicate with each other, without making Yugi look like he was crazy, and after wards the link just stuck." Atem explained, giving my shoulders one last squeeze before letting go, Yami and I turned to look at him
"How do you know so much about our link?" Yami asked him
"During the time you were 'dating' Téa, Yugi and I spent a lot of time talking." Atem explained, Yami then turned to look at me
"You told him about our link? Yugi, we've never told anyone about that." Yami huffed, I shrugged
"I'm going to go join Heba." Atem commented and walked over to where Heba was standing, I watched him out eh corner of my eye, almost wishing I could join him.
"Well, when I started to heard your thoughts on Téa, I got annoyed while I was talking to Atem and I complained, out loud about the link, he asked me what it was, so I told him, look I needed someone to talk to about it, I couldn't talk to you, I didn't feel right." He sighed
"Yugi, you know the whole thing with Téa was a ploy."
"But I didn't at the time, I thought it was real, and to be honest you were pretty convincing with her, I just needed to vent to someone who wasn't you, Atem was there offering, so I vented, your thoughts in my head didn't help."
"That's why you shut the link off a lot." Yami summarised, I nodded
"I needed to, I'd been in love with you for years, so hearing you think about her, and seeing you with her hurt, it hurt a lot Yami, I just could do it, I needed it closed for a while, so I could cope." He nodded in understanding
"I'm sorry Yugi, I didn't think." Yami apologised, I smiled
"It's okay Yami, really, lets move on, and leave this behind us, its over with now, it's in our past."
"But-"
[It would be a good idea to listen to him Yami, he is wise with his words, let the past stay in the past] Prince Yugi reasoned.
