Sorrow
The dirt fell on the makeshift grave, and Diane ran up the garden into the house, slamming her bedroom door.
She had just buried her cat, who had died that morning. Her body shook as the tears overtook her. Why did Tabby have to die? Why?
The rest of the day was spent with her sitting in her room, looking out the window. She had loved that cat so much. Now she was gone. Her parents had explained it to her, but there was still a part of her that thought she would come back. Yet, over the following week, all that came to her was more tears and a hollow ache in her chest.
