Heartbreak
She had been the one to ask for the divorce. She knew it hadn't been working for a while. Now that the final papers had arrived to her new address, she crumbled. Her heart was breaking. It shouldn't be; she was tough! She had asked for this divorce!
Then why did it hurt? After a bottle of alcohol she had come up with the ultimate answer. It wasn't 42, but something more complicated. Years ago, she had hoped that it would work; now she had to admit that they had failed.
She had put her heart and soul into this and had to admit that it didn't work, that all their dreams were not going to be realised. That all their effort of the last few years had been in vain.
She, Diane, had failed at something.
