Pity
She was blunt and unfriendly at the start. That much was true she admitted. Yet there was more to her being that way then just her character. If they found out that she had just divorced from her husband and had left her son living with him, there would be pity on her from the others.
They would all be nice about it, but still they would pity her. That was the one thing she couldn't stand. Ever since she had lost her mum at the age of 15 where she had been given pity by strangers she had hated it. She didn't want their pity, she wanted her mum back that was all.
It really stemmed from there that dislike of pity, because it wasn't their pity she was after, but that thing back again. She wished that she could be living with her son, yet it couldn't be. So therefore she kept it hidden. Keeping the pain hidden and buried deep was better pity from anyone.
