Family
Family – one word so many different meanings. For some, it is the blood relatives that classify. For others, when they have been kicked out of home, it is their chosen friends and allies that qualify for the title of family. For others, perhaps, their work colleagues. Family is those people close to you who help you out when needed, who are there for you in the good and the bad.
Diane took a breath. Her son and ex husband couldn't be called her family. Sun Hill and everyone there are a family of sorts. She puts her life in their hands every day and vice versa. There are the 'parents', siblings and the usual squabbling, but they are always there for each other. So if someone asked about family, this would be it.
