Bad Company
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, Five Finger Death Punch, or Bad Company.
"Malfoy, do you need this book?"
"What? Yes, of course I need that book. It wouldn't be on my table if I didn't, Granger."
"Oh, sorry. Since you're not using it right now, can I look through it?"
"What do you need to look through it for?"
"… I'm not sure whether I should make something up about the curiosity of an insufferable know-it-all or answer you honestly."
"I would prefer the honest answer."
"Everyone prefers hearing the truth. But why should I tell you? Convince me and I might."
"I'm sure Potter's trying to convince you I have the mark, yes? Well, he's right."
"How is that supposed to convince me to be honest?"
"I wasn't finished… I only took it to save my mother. Since the day I was born, I was raised to worship the Dark Lord. But, now that I'm older, I don't really believe in it. When He offered me the mark over the summer, he told me my mother would be killed if I declined or abandoned the cause afterwards."
"I'm so sorry, Draco. Is there anything I can do?"
"What did you just call me?"
"Draco."
"Why?"
"After what you just said, I hardly believe we can feign indifference."
"That's just it. I have to hate you or my mother will die. But thank you. When I hear Malfoy, I only think of my father and how it is his fault everyone believes us to be Death Eaters. Though it is technically true, it's hard to hear that hatred in their voices."
"… How do I know you're being honest with me?"
"My mother is the only person I love. She is the only person who loves me. Why would I make up the possibility of her death."
"I suppose so… You never answered my question."
"What question?"
"Is there anything I can do? Anything I can ask Harry to do?"
"Kill him. When the time comes, kill him, once and for all."
"We'll do our best."
"Thank you… You should probably go now, before people start thinking we're having a civil conversation. You can take the book."
"I don't need it."
"But when you came over here-"
"I wanted to see if you were okay."
