It wasn't uncommon anymore for the creatures of Pandora to see aliens appear from the sky. In fact, it was rather common to see bulky…things cutting through the air, and later see small pink skinned aliens exit the things and walk through the forests. The aliens often killed the creatures that challenged them for intruding upon territory that wasn't theirs.
Wherever these beings came from, they were obviously insane and dangerous. Anything stupid enough to mess with them, after seeing how mercilessly they killed others, deserved to die…at least that was what the aliens themselves seemed to believe.
What was uncommon to the population on Pandora wasn't the appearance of yet another sky alien, but rather the way the new one appeared out of nowhere. It appeared in a flash of bright light at the bottom of the resident Prolemuris mating tree. Incensed by the intrusion, yet fearful of death if they retaliated against the alien, the Prolemuris clan settled for screeching their lungs out in a show of anger and frustration.
It was rather unfortunate that the alien the Prolemuris' were terrorizing was none other than Harry Potter. Instead of waking peacefully in his bed to find that he had hallucinated the entire episode in his garden, Harry instead awoke to an ear shattering symphony of screeches.
Sitting up from the ground, where he had fallen after being transported, Harry covered his ears as he leaned against the tree behind him. Ignoring the giant trees and bizarre plants for now, Harry tilted his head up and then up some more until he could see some kind of strange bat-monkeys yelling at him.
Confused, and a little nervous, of the howling creatures Harry decided that the best course of action was retreat. Harry really didn't want to find out what these creatures would do if they got even more pissed off. Staggering to his feet, Harry lowered his hand to make sure his handbag was still securely attached to him. Regretting the action immediately Harry found out two things. The first was that he still had the handbag. The second was that these bat-monkeys could have made the tone-deaf ghosts of Hogwarts cry for mercy.
Taking hold of his handbag, Harry sprinted away from that tree like the harpies from hell were after him. Which, if you asked Harry, wasn't too far from the truth. It took a few minutes for Harry to get a reasonable amount of distance between himself and the awful screeching. As the sound became indistinguishable among the other noises of the forest Harry began to slow to a walk.
Now standing still with no distractions, Harry began to slowly process what he was seeing around him. It was some kind of magical forest. It wasn't like the woods in Surrey, which Harry had called a forest, that place had a few withered oaks barely standing at twenty feet in the air. Not to mention, the few plants that could be found around the Surrey forest usually gave Harry the itchiest rashes or cut thin slices from his skin, almost as if in an attempt to defend the last of nature's babies from him.
This forest was in no way like that forest. These trees easily towered at fifty feet minimum and eighty at the average. All the trees themselves seemed to be interwoven with each other, as branches twirled around each other and dipped to meet other branches. If Harry had to describe the trees surrounding him, he would have said they were connecting together in a colossal mesh of plant life.
The plants in this forest were huge, most were even bigger than Harry himself. Not that that was really saying much, at five foot eight Harry didn't exactly consider himself the tallest giant in the cave, as Hagrid used to say. Some of the plants looked like giant flowers, colored a neon purplish color with a hint of blue, others reminded Harry of big green ferns. All the plants looked alive to Harry. They looked almost as if they were going to rip their roots right out from the ground, then transform into the mystical wood nymphs Luna had often told Harry about.
The wildlife was magical and the animals living in it were just as unique. None of them looked like the native animals Harry was used to seeing, nor like the magical ones he had studied or seen when he was young. The creatures looked almost like a mixture of animals Harry knew about, with a few extra limbs added just to puzzle him.
As Harry looked about, he recognized a few of the bat-monkeys he had seen before. Their faces were structured in a bat like fashion, the only deference being the monkey eyes and miniature cow ears. Their bodies had the shape of a monkey but the arms split into two on each side and each of their four hands had three fingers. They had blue torsos, yellow legs, and a unique pattern of color decorated the hides of each bat-monkey. The last thing Harry noted about them other than their tails was that none of them seemed to have any hair on their bodies.
"Brilliant…"
The word seemed to come out of Harry's mouth without permission. Spoken in a soft whisper from a throat that seemed unused to forming sounds, Harry spoke for the first time in years.
This chapter has been edited. I'll work on the other chapters tomorrow. :)
