In the silence that followed, which must have only lasted for a second, a million thoughts raced through Arthur's head.
You've been there for me a thousand times. You're always there for me, even when I know I don't deserve it. You saved my life, even after I humiliated you and had you thrown in jail. You've been the only real friend I've ever had. Absolutely, you're a hero, Merlin.
What he said aloud was a little bit briefer, but really no less meaningful. "Probably."
