-In which Kya gets jealous and discovers her ability
I do not own Avatar: The Last Airbender or The Last Airbender: The Legend Of Korra, but I do own a sweet pair of hobo gloves

Tenzin and Gyatso were visited a lot by friends and family in the following week. Kya was getting slightly jealous of this, whenever she did or said something she was cut off by comments about the twins. Her jealousy grew whenever this happened.
"Grandpa, look what I can do!" Said Kya ask she started skipping around in a circle
"That's very nice Kya…Do you like being a big sister?" He asked. This was the wrong this to say.
All the jealousy that had built up inside her suddenly came bubbling to the surface when Hakoda said this.
"No! I don't want to be a big sister!" Yelled Kya and she ran outside.
"Kya!" yelled Aang and went to follow her. Katara stopped him.
"I'll go talk to her, mother to daughter" She told him as she handed Gyatso to him
….
Katara thought she knew where Kya was, there was a cave behind the waterfall at the back of the Air Temple. As Katara approached the cave, she heard sobbing.
"Kya?" She asked gently as she used her waterbending to dry herself, to get to the cave you had to walk through the waterfall, she noticed that Kya was also soaked so she pulled the water off her daughter and left it in a puddle to the side of the cave.
"Kya?" she asked again after getting no reply from her daughter.
She sat down beside her and put an arm around her shoulders.
"Don't you like your brothers?" she asked and Kya stood up.
"NO!" she yelled and her voice echoed through the tunnel.
"Why not?" Katara asked making sure to keep her voice low and calm.
"Now you and daddy don't love me anymore!" she sobbed and this comment stung.
"Kya! Of course we still love you"
"No! You and daddy love Gyso and Ten and whenever I try to do anything they ignore me and only love Gyso and Ten!" she stamped her foot at the last part and out of the corner of her eye Katara saw the water in the puddle she had made rise into the air and then splash back down.
Katara embraced her daughter, "We still love you, but we also love Tenzin and Gyatso too, we have enough love in our hearts for both of you"
Kya looked up at this, she felt ashamed at herself for yelling at her mother like she did. "Really?" she asked. "Yep! But you're a big girl and the boys are little and need people to take care of them…Daddy and I were hoping that you would be able to help…"
"I'm a big girl and I can help look after my brothers!" she said quickly
"I'm glad to hear you say that…and I have a surprise for you!"
"What is it mummy?"
"You're a waterbender!"
Kya was shocked to hear this, she had seen her mother waterbending and always wished she was one too
"Are you sure?"
"Well…take up a stance like this" she instructed and Kya was quick to copy
"And move your arms like this…"
Kya did as she was told and to her surprise the water in the puddle moved
"Wow! Mummy, look what I did!" she exclaimed and Katara looked at her proudly.
"Well done sweetie, one day you'll be a master waterbender like me!"
At this Kya ran inside to tell her father, grandfather and two little brothers that she was a bender.
"Daddy daddy guess what?" she asked. Aang was surprised to see her so happy after she had stormed off, and wondered what news could of triggered such a turnaround in her mood.
"What?" he wondered and Hakoda looked at Kya curiously
"I'm a waterbender!" Aang was shocked at this news
"Way to go sweetie!" He said proudly as Kya rushed over to Hakoda to tell him even though he had already heard
"Well done sweetie! Just like your mum!" he said and Kya ran over to the 2 cribs that held the now sleeping babies
"Gyso, Ten, I'm a waterbender" She whispered and blew them each a kiss.
