The Young and the Dramatic: Season Three
Episode 1: Katie is Shocked at the Revelation
"Love me?" Bridgette said, standing up.
Cody nodded, and gulped. He stood up as well, and walked over to the surfer girl, "I'm sorry to spring this on you, Bridgette—"
"Really," the surfer girl nodded. She had a look of shocked expression in her face and eyes as she backed up, "I'm sorry Cody—"
"Listen to me," Cody said, stepping towards her.
Bridgette gulped.
"I'm sorry Cody," she shook her head; "I can't be with you. I—"she stopped herself, and caught Cody's eyes, "I'm dating Duncan right now;" she turned around, and slipped out of the room.
Cody groaned, and let out a furious roar. He pounded his fists on the table, groaning.
The sun did not shine over Wawanakwa City. It was pitch black when the ambulance arrived to retrieve Izzy's body. They also sent an ambulance to make sure the victims in the upstairs apartment were alright.
As the paramedic looked over Heather, Justin and Alejandro stood in the corner, talking about the previous events that had happened in the past twenty minutes.
"If Hatchet talks to us," Justin said, "We have to get the story straight,"
"I know," Alejandro nodded, "I shot Izzy in self-defense to save Heather and you. Izzy was going to kill Heather, and I didn't want that to happen,"
Justin nodded in agreement.
"Without you, Heather and I would be dead," he said, and then turned to Heather, "I can't believe that she doesn't know who I am,"
"Partial amnesia is common," Alejandro reminded him, "That's what the paramedic said. It may come back in a few minutes—"
"You two,"
The two men turned around to see Hatchet approaching them. He put his hands on his hips as he confronted them.
"We need to talk," he said with a grim look on his face.
Katie opened up the door to see Noah standing in the doorway.
"I came as soon as you called," Noah said, charging into the apartment, "Can you explain to me what the hell is going on, now?"
The sweet girl extended her trembling hand, and pointed to the letter on the coffee table. She let out a shrill cry, and started to sob again. Noah picked up the letter, and read the note.
Turning back to Katie, he raised an eyebrow.
"She left town," he said with a shocked expression, "Because of me?"
Bridgette looked out the window as she drove her Jeep home. The previous minutes raced through her head, as she tried to wrap her head around everything.
"I can't believe he's in love with me," Bridgette said to herself.
Just then, a beep brought her back into reality. She grabbed her purse, and saw that it was Duncan calling. Sighing, she rejected the call, and focused on driving.
However, she wasn't focusing at all.
The surfer girl just couldn't believe that Cody had revealed to her the truth as to why he had turned himself in.
"He was willing to give away his entire freedom for me," she muttered, "Because he was in love with me," she let out another sigh, and passed her apartment. Grabbing her phone, she dialed Duncan's number.
"Hey," Duncan's voice sounded so faint.
"I'm going out of town for a couple days," Bridgette said, "An uncle died, and I'm heading home,"
Bridgette sighed at her lying, and hoped Duncan would buy it.
"Do you want me to go with you?"
"No," Bridgette said, "I need to do this on my own," she sighed, "Love you," she hung up the phone, and sighed. She needed to talk to her mother about all of this. She needed to wrap her head around all of this.
More importantly, she needed to make a choice.
She had to choose between Duncan and Cody.
"Hatchet," Justin said, walking up to the sheriff, "Is everything OK down there—"
"No," Hatchet said, groaning, "I have good and bad news," he stopped himself, as if to think which news to tell first, "Bad news is that this is now an investigation. We're not sure if it was murder, or self-defense,"
Alejandro groaned.
"We already told you that it was self-defense. Izzy was crazy,"
"There's no denying that," Justin added.
Hatchet sighed, "I'll let the judge handle that," he saw Alejandro and Justin's facial expressions, and continued.
"So what's the good news?" Alejandro hoped.
"I'm not arresting you for murder, pretty boy," Hatchet said, pointing a finger into Alejandro's chest.
"Today,"
"You can't blame yourself," Katie said, walking over to her boyfriend.
Noah raised an eyebrow, and threw the letter onto the coffee table, "What? So you can blame yourself? Katie, you need to realize Sadie was a control freak—"
"Don't call her that!"
The young man raised another eyebrow, and took a step closer to his girlfriend.
"Katie, you need to realize something," he said, dropping the tone of his voice, "Sadie left because you spent too much time with me. She's crazy—"
"Don't talk about my friend like that!" Katie shouted, taking another step back. She was quivering now, unsure of what to do, "She's—"
"She's holding you hostage in your own mind," Noah folded his arms, "Now are you really going to pay the ransom?"
Katie's jaw dropped.
"And what would that be?" she asked.
"She's making you break up with me, or else she will never be your friend again,"
As soon as Hatchet finished his sentence, Justin and Alejandro both exchanged glances. The sheriff then turned around to leave the two to talk.
"I'm going to prison," Alejandro immediately said, "They're going to convict me—"
"Shut up," Justin interrupted, "You're not going to prison—"
Alejandro scoffed in response.
"Do you honestly think they're going to say I'm not guilty? Heather can't remember anything, Izzy is dead, and you're—"he paused, and scoffed again, "Like you'd ever help me,"
Justin stepped forward.
"What exactly have you done to me that would make me want you to go to prison?" he asked, raising a suspicious eyebrow.
Mrs. Summers opened up the door after the bell rang, only to see Bridgette standing on the porch. She raised an eyebrow at her daughter, and gasped as she saw her daughter burst into tears.
"Sweetie!—"
Bridgette rushed inside, and wrapped her arms around her mother in embrace.
"Mom," Bridgette said, wrapped in her mothers' embrace, "These past few months have been horrible. Wawanakwa City—"
"I heard," Mrs. Summers quickly interjected, "I heard about everything you've done for that town and for that Abraham boy," she cupped her daughters' face in her hands, "You're a hero, Bridgette. You brought a woman to justice, and cleared a man's name,"
"I'm not talking about that," Bridgette said, and then walked over to the couch, and sat down. Her mother joined her, and listened closely to what her daughter was saying, "I'm falling in love one boy, but then—"
Her mother eyed her closely.
"But then what?" she asked.
"But then this boy that is in prison who took the fall for me just told me he loved me," Bridgette said, and felt the tears welling up in her eyes again, "And now I just don't know what to do anymore—"
Mrs. Summers raised a questionable eyebrow, looking at her daughter, "What are you talking about? Took the fall for what?"
"Nothing," Alejandro said, taking a step back, "Just that I wanted to steal Heather away from you. You should hate me because of that,"
Proud of his quick thinking, Alejandro walked over to the couch where Heather had previously been lying. She had been carted out of the room to head to the hospital for additional tests.
"Anybody could be like that," Justin said, "You're just a jealous ex-boyfriend,"
"Exactly," Alejandro said, "But I'm past that. I'm done with all of it. I just want the best for Heather," he checked his watch, "It's late. I should get home—"
Justin watched as the arch villain headed towards the door.
"Wait, Justin,"
Alejandro turned around, raising an eyebrow.
"Thank you," Justin nodded, "For saving Heather and I. If it weren't for you, Izzy would have killed us both,"
Alejandro said nothing, but merely nodded, and headed out the door.
"But why?" Katie said, throwing her hands into the air, "Why would she do that to me? She knows that I'm happy—"
"Some people just aren't able to do understand," Noah quickly interrupted, "But I wanted to tell you something," he took Katie's hand, "I'm thinking of closing up my shop, and going back to work as a lawyer,"
Katie's jaw dropped.
"But why would you want to do that?" Katie asked, "Your general store is one of the best business' this town has! Why would you want to throw it away?"
"When I rescued you from the pier," Noah said, sitting down, "I realized how much I enjoyed rescuing people. I want to go back to being the defense attorney,"
Katie gave her boyfriend a weak smile, "I think that would be a great idea,"
"And you need to work on getting Sadie back in this town," Noah said, pulling his girlfriend close, "We both need to work on things,"
Katie paused for a few seconds to think.
"I think," she said, "I think I like that idea,"
"I burnt down the Wawanakwa Daily office," Bridgette said, as her mother's jaw dropped.
"What—"her mother stood up from the couch, looking down at her daughter in shock.
"It was a mistake!" the surfer girl exclaimed, "It was an accident! I would never purposely commit—"
Mrs. Summers' stood up a bit straighter, and looked down at her daughter, "its fine," she said, with a twinkle in her eyes, "I believe you would never do that,"
Bridgette was taken aback by the fact that her mother was seemingly OK about it, "Are you sure you're OK with this?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. She too, was now on her feet, and took a step towards her daughter.
"You're OK now," she said, "Everything's going to be alright,"
"You didn't answer me—"
Her mother cupped her face in her hands, "It's alright," she said, and gave her daughter a wink, "I don't want you to worry about this anymore,"
And as Bridgette hugged her mother, she let the feeling of guilt wash out.
Next on the Young and the Dramatic…
"We got the new anchor," the producer said, looking up from their laptop, "Someone from Boney Isles,"
The action may just be ending…
"We can finally move on," Bridgette said, smiling as she held Duncan's hands in her own.
But the drama is far from over…
"Wawanakwa Daily TV will be my chance for revenge," Sierra smirked as she looked around the room.
Leading to several consequences…
"There's something I need to tell you," the surfer girl said, looking up into Duncan's caring eyes.
A/N - Long time, no see, huh folks? Well, the drama is beginning once more in Wawanakwa City. There is a little format change this season: new episodes will be posted every Wednesday instead of every weekday. This can give me more time to add texture to the chapters, rather than just quickly typing up a chapter.
