New Chapter! Enjoy!
Zeph, Scarlett, Luna and Shard were going back to the great library too study. After Faolan sent Ramaour to tell Icerift to put up a storm barrier, he sent the four of them to the library to study while they wait for him. Faolan had said that he had a lesson to teach them and that it would change the way they thought in battle. Though Zeph did not understand why. He had always been told the only thing he should be thinking about in combat was how to fight, never hesitate and never trust anyone. Or at least that was what Sargent Kilowog and captain Rhihorn told him.
"I don't know any more." Zeph mumbled.
"Nor do the rest of us." Said Shard.
When the quadruplets reached the library the entered what would be considered a palace for books! Shelves stood 50 storeys high and had elevators attached to them so people could reach the top. There were also 50 balcony levels with a series of smaller shelves. In the centre of it all were tables with people reading and in the centre of all that was a glass case with a book that was 5 meters long, 8 meters wide and 4 meters thick! The writing inside the book was coper ink and looked like a work of art.
"Shard! Luna! Zeph! Scarlett! Over here."
The four turned to see Faolan with his mask on. But instead of wearing his cloak, he was wearing the same thing that Razer would wear if he didn't have his lantern suit on.
"Big brother! What are we doing today?" Asked Zeph.
"Today I'm going to be taking you to a special place where I shall talk to each of you individually."
And with that they headed to a door that led to the library gardens. The gardens were filled with flowers and plants of every kind.
"Alright. Who would like to go first?" Asked Faolan.
The four children looked at one another then Shard stepped forward.
"Alright. Follow me. The rest of you stay here and wait for your turn."
with that Faolan shape shifted into a very large, grey barn owl. Shard also shape shifted into a black barn owl that was only half the size of Faolan.
When they finaly landed they were at the base of a water fall that fell into a lake that looked like a mirror.
"Faolan. Brother, why are we here?" Asked Shard.
"We are here because you are lost."
"No I'm not. I'm right here with you by mirror falls."
"I ment mentaly and spiritually."
Shard was still confused. What was his brother babbling about?
"Brother, I never doubt your wisdom but what are you talking about?"
"Shard. Do you know what the saying 'Family is like love. It never dies.'"
"But our family is dead! Our mother is dead, our father has forgotten all 16 of us and started a knew family. To top it all off, our father's family is trying to kill us except for the few uncles who raised us!"
"Shard. Our family is not dead. And do to your hatered I sense a disturbance in the energy life*."
Shard rolled his eyes. His brother was the only one in their entire family who could communicate with people in the energy life. It was always, 'energy life' this, or 'energy life' that. Any time his brother spoke about the energy life he spoke with his friends or their mother.
"Shard look into the water. Look deep. Look past your reflection."
Shard did as his brother told him.
Beyond his reflection Shard saw the faces of people he had fought along side and faces he did not know. Yet.
"Brother. Who are these people I see?" Asked Shard.
"They are those who will be effected by the stone." Answered Faolan.
"He's right." Said a voice.
Shard and Faolan turned to see a young volkerian girl who's cloths, skin and hair was as white as a ghost. Her markings were diamonds that formed under each eye and had a small black dot in the middle.
"Icerift. What do we owe the pleasure of this meeting." Said Faolan.
"Darkness is forming. Ties between clans are breaking. The leader of the tribe of rushing blood is not the real leader. That's not all. Sunstone is not really not Sunstone. He has been replaced by someone with more darker intensions." Replied Icerift.
"What prof do you have of this?"
"My clan was attacked. Thank the gods no one was killed. But we are low on warriors."
"I see."
"Brother family is important but if our family in fire clan is willing to kill us than we must be willing to kill them."
Father away Razer was pacsing in the hall way outside of the infermary.
Aurora had been cured as Feral-scream had said but she had fallen ill with some sort of unknown disease.
"Razer she'll be fine." Said Aya reassuringly.
"I know but I feel as if I am to blame." replied Razer.
"But it isn't."
"But it IS Aya! You saw the way they looked at me. There was nothing but pure rage in their eyes. They have every right to hate me but I... I thought maybe one of them would forgive me."
Razer then sat in the chair next to Aya. Aya put her arm around Razer's shoulder in an effort to comfort.
"Razer. That's what families are all about. Sometimes they'll hate you. But most times they will love you and everything you do." Said Aya.
Razer looked at her and smiled. How did he wined up so lucky to have a women like that for his wife. He then kissed her.
"Aya. I love you." Said Razer.
"I know you do. Just as you know that I love you. Flaws and all." Replied Aya.
Back on the ship Gryphus sat on his bed in his quarters puzzled. One of those warriors looked so familiar. As Gryphus sat there he began to nod off to sleep.
In his dream Gryphus floated through a thick fog. He heard voices calling out to him. Some he didn't recognize. Others he did.
"You are late." Said a voice.
Gryphus turned to see a hooded figure with a mask on apear.
"Who are you?" Asked Gryphus.
"I am Wolf-spirit." Answered the figure.
"Why are you here?"
"I am here to tell you that you must learn to keep those you love a little closer."
"Why? They don't care about me. What good am I? Except for being yelled at when someone is made and they need to pick on someone."
"If you are referring to what happened today then you should know that Razer was worried about you."
"Why? He doesn't care if I live or died!"
"Gryphus don't say that. Or other words you'll turn into someone like me."
"And what are you?"
"A nightmare formed by others mistakes!"
Wolf-spirit ripped off his mask to reveal that half of his face was covered in scars. But one stood out among the rest. It was one in the shape of a crescent moon.
"Remember this well Gryphus. If you live forever with hate in your heart for your family members then you will become... A MONSTER!"
Then there was a flash of light and Gryphus woke up drenched in sweat on the floor.
"Yes. I will remember." Whimpered Gryphus.
End of the next chapter. By the way if you read all of it you would know Razer has 16 children. Here is why. All of them are in groups of twins, quadruplets, and the oldest are a set of 10 twins.
