Sitting in the hospital for the last four hours was killing him. Gabriella hadn't talked to him since they arrived. He couldn't really blame her, her sister was in labor and as a doctor they both knew all the complications that could go wrong. The part that was really killing him was she never answered his question…

Troy took a breath and went down on his knee, "Gabriella Maria Montez, will you marry?"

Gabriella looked at him with tears in her eyes, "Are you serious?"

"As serious as a heart attack," he took the ring out of his pocket and waited for her to answer.

They heard the back door open, "Sorry to interrupt but we need to go to the hospital," Troy's mom said, "Juliana is in labor."

"What!" Gabriella screamed before running into the house.

Troy jumped up and followed right behind her. When he entered the house his dad looked at him with a questioning look and he just shook his head before grabbing his keys and running out to his car where Gabriella was talking to her dad.

"Okay we will meet you there, is there anything she needs that she doesn't have?" Gabriella asked.

"No, Kevin said they had everything in the car just in case." Her dad replied.

"Okay we'll see you there." Gabriella said before getting in the car where Troy was waiting for her. "We are going to Lowell General." She said after buckling her seat.

"Sounds good," Troy said while pulling away from his parents' house.

When they arrived at the hospital they found both of their families waiting in the waiting room, not sure how long they were going to have to wait.

Four hours later Troy was sitting by himself in the cafeteria thinking about the day's events. He didn't really know how long he was sitting down there but he jumped slightly when Gabriella's mom sat down in front of him, "Here you are."

"Oh sorry, I was just down here to eat something, I must have lost track of time." He said moving to get up.

"Oh no worries, sit, at least down here you can watch people walk by. Up there it's just us," she said laughing. "I don't blame you for staying down here. Juliana is nowhere close to having this baby."

"I didn't mean to stay down here,"

"Yeah you did." She cut him off with a smile. "I mean everyone up there is afraid to ask you or Gabriella what happen in the backyard in case you know." She didn't finish the statement but Troy knew what she meant.

Troy took a deep breath, "she didn't answer me because my mom interrupted to telling us that Juliana was in labor."

"She didn't answer you?" Lupita asked almost shocked.

"No."

"Did your mom come out right after you asked?"

"Not really."

"What do you mean 'not really'?"

"Well when I asked Gabriella asked me if I was serious."

"If you are serious?" she asked not believing that was what he said.

Troy nodded his head, "Yeah, to be honest I was expecting a yes. Maybe not right away, like really quick but at least after a few seconds. It through me for a loop to be honest. It's all I can think about, you know, maybe if I said something different or waited until she wasn't pissed at me, it would have gone differently."

"Troy, there is nothing you could have done differently. When she was young she use to always talk about her dream wedding and how she wanted to be a stay at home mom and raise her kids. As she got older the dream to be a stay at home mom slowed and becoming a doctor became the main focus. But the talk of her wedding didn't stop until she and Sean broke up."

"Why?"

"I am not really sure to be honest. I think it's because their relationship became stale. There was no excitement or anything. I feel like she saw that and became afraid that she would have a marriage that would become just like that."

"I didn't know that."

"Yeah she never talked about it with me but a mom knows," she said with a smile.

"Yeah moms know everything," Troy said with a laugh.

"I have a feeling that asking my daughter to marry you was very difficult for you."

Troy nodded his head and sighed, "Yeah it was."

Lupita smiled at him, "Why is that? If you don't mind me asking what made it so difficult?"

Troy sighed and sifted in his seat, "Umm I was engaged once a couple years ago and I knew I didn't really love but I guess I tricked myself into thinking that I did and that the next step to take logically was to marry her. We were together for six years in total and about four years ago I walked in on her and one of her co-workers in our bed."

"Oh god, Troy, I'm sorry."

Troy smiled, "It's alright. I learned a lot from it. I didn't really date until well, Gabriella really. I went a few dates but I was really careful with my heart. I learned that I didn't love her but it still hurt you know. To have someone in your life betray you that way when you are trying so hard to give them the life that they want sucks."

Lupita got up and went over and gave him a hug, "I am so sorry Troy."

He hugged her back, "Thank you."

They got up and went back up to the waiting room where everyone was talking quietly. Troy looked around the room to see if he could find Gabriella.

He saw her sitting in the corner by herself staring at the ground lost in her own thoughts. He decided to sit in the empty chair near his mom.

"How are you?" she asked as he sat down.

"I am hanging there. Talking to her mom really helped. But I still wish that we weren't interrupted so I would know what her answer was." He said as he settled into his seat and watching Gabriella play with her fingers.

"I had a feeling that Lupita would help settle some of your nervous."

Troy looked at his mom with a soft smile, "I should have known you sent her down." He gave her a hug as best he could. "Thanks mom."

"You're welcome baby." She pulled away but continued, "Hopefully by midnight we will have a baby and an answer for you."

Troy laughed a little, "Yeah no kidding."

Troy looked over at Gabriella and saw her looking at him but she quickly looked away. He just sighed and continued to watch her. All he wanted was to go over and sit with her but for some reason he stayed where he was.

He wasn't sure how many hours had passed but he did know that he fell asleep at some point. When he woke up everyone was moving around the room, "What's going on?"

His mom turned quickly, "She started pushing."

He looked around and found Gabriella pacing slightly. He got up and walked up behind her. He knew that she was freaking out. There had been a mother who had almost bled out after giving birth just three weeks ago. Thankfully they were able to save her but Troy knew that Gabriella was thinking of that moment right now.

Some time had passed before Kevin came out with a big smile, "It's a boy."

They all cheered and Gabriella turned around and hugged Troy. He smiled and hugged her back.

They went into the room to see Juliana, who was holding the baby with Gianna sitting next to her.

"Hey Jules," Gabriella said with a smile, "How are you?"

"Tired," Juliana said with a laugh.

Gabriella walked over and stood next to her, "He is beautiful. What's his name?"

"Marco Luis," she answered with a smile.

"He is going to be a ladies' man," Troy said from his spot.

"He is my brother," Gianna said with a smile from her spot next to her mom.

"You're going to be the best big sister ever," Troy said with a smile.

They continued to talk about the baby and they all had a chance to hold Marco. Troy was holding him when Juliana asked the one question everyone really wanted to know.

"So?" she looked over at Gabriella who was watching Troy talk softly to the baby.

"So? What?" Gabriella looked back at her confused.

"Let's see the ring," Juliana said with a smile.

Gabriella shot Troy a look, who was now watching her. She didn't say anything because wasn't sure what to say.

"Oh no," Juliana looked between Troy and Gabriella, "did I ruin it? Did I go into labor before you could ask?" she asked Troy who was going to say something.

"No he asked." Gabriella said while looking at the ground.

"So where is the ring?" Camilla asked from her seat.

"I said he asked, I didn't say I said yes." Gabriella said still not looking at anyone.

"You said no!" Juliana yelled looking at Troy quickly, who was just looking at Gabriella, and then back at Gabriella. "Are you stupid? You have this amazing guy who loves you, is extremely good looking, and has an amazing body. No offense honey," she said quickly to Kevin who just shook his head. She looked back at Gabriella who still was looking at the ground. "Why in the world would you say no?"

Gabriella took a deep breath, "First of all, you're married and shouldn't be checking out my boyfriend, and second of all I didn't say no."

Juliana rolled her eyes at the first comment but looked confused after the first, "If you didn't say yes and you didn't say no, what did you say?"

Gabriella looked at Juliana, "I didn't answer him. I asked him if he was serious and then you went into labor." She got up and walked out of the room.

Everyone else just sat there in silence. No one wanted to look at Troy, who was still sitting there holding Marco. He got up and handed Marco to Juliana, "I am going to go see if she is okay."

Troy headed down to the on-call room and walked in. The lights were off and he walked all the way to the back where he saw two legs coming out from under the bed. He smiled a little and got down, laid down under the bed and stayed quiet.

"What if something goes wrong?"

Troy looked over at her before answering, "Juliana is in the best hands in the world, you know that."

Gabriella turned her head towards Troy, "I know that, I wasn't talking about that."

"Then what are you talking about?"

Gabriella sighed, "what if something goes wrong with us."

Troy sighed and moved from under the bed, he sat on the bed and pulled Gabriella out by her legs before picking her up and sitting her down in his lap. "Things are going to go wrong with us. That's life. I am not always going to remember to throw my socks in the hamper or put the toilet seat down. And you are got to drive me crazy by yelling at me when I forget to do those things. That's how marriage works. We going to argue and not talk to each other. And I am almost one hundred percent positive that there will be plenty of nights that I will spend on the couch, last night being the first."

Gabriella could help but laugh a little.

Troy smiled at her, "But I wouldn't want to get yelled at to pick up my dirty clothes or to mow the lawn or put the toilet seat down by anybody else. You know how difficult it was for me to even ask you to go out to dinner with me as friends. The moment I saw you sitting on the floor with Lilly, like I said, you just captured me. Every day I get to wake up next to you is better than the last. Waking up this morning on the couch was horrible, not just because my back is killing me, but because I hated not being able to wake-up next to you. I don't worry about the fights, because I know that they will happen. They will suck of course, I hate fighting with you. These last two days have been awful. I love you more than I ever thought I could possible love someone. Marrying you is the only thing I want more than anything in this world."

Gabriella smiled at him as she wrapped her arms around his neck, "This was much better than the rambling that you did earlier."

Troy laughed, "I was so nervous."

"About what? Me saying no?"

"Well I mean you didn't exactly say yes."

"That's because my sister decided to go into labor and ruin the moment."

Troy just looked at her with a faint smile on his face, "are you saying that want to be marry me."

Gabriella smiled at him, "I am saying that I want to marry you, steal your last name, move into a house, have kids, and live the rest of my life with you."

Troy's smile grew and he leaned and kissed her lips. Gabriella kissed back before pulling away. "Can I have my ring before we make-out in the on-call room?" she said with a smile.

"Of course you can." He went to get it from his pocket but it wasn't there. "But that would mean we have to go to the car. I put in the glove box before we came in here."

Gabriella just laughed, "Alright then we will make-out now, go get the ring, and then go see my sister."

Troy laughed, "Sounds great to me."

He kissed her again and slowly moved so that she was lying on the bed. He was just about move his kisses towards her neck when the door to the on-call room opened.

"Oh shit sorry man," some doctor said before closing the door again.

Gabriella laughed, "Maybe we should go get the ring and see how my sister is doing and let this wait till later."

Troy smiled down at her, "Promise?"

"Of course."

They got up and went out to get the ring from the car before heading back up to the maternity ward and walked into Juliana's room. When they walked into the room everyone stopped talking and looked at them.

"So?" Juliana said from her bed.

"So? What?" Gabriella said from her spot next to Troy.

Juliana rolled her eyes, "We aren't doing this again. Did you say yes this time or no?"

Gabriella just smiled at her, "Today is your day."

"It was suppose to be your day but this little guy came early, so take you hand out of your pocket and let me see the ring."

"What if I said no?"

Juliana rolled her eyes again, "You wouldn't be standing there with a smile on your face. And Troy wouldn't have the look of wanting to take all your clothes off in his eyes."

"Juliana!" Gabriella, her mom, and dad all yelled.

"Not funny!" Gabriella said as she went and sat down next to her on the bed. She took her left hand out of her pocket and showed Juliana the ring that was sitting on her ring finger.

"Ah!" Juliana grabbed it and looked at it, while the other women in the room came over as well. They all were talking a mile a minute. Gabriella looked over at Troy was smiling at her, he sent her a wink and started talking to her dad who came over and shook his hand.

"Congrats man," Carson said.

"Thank you sir, I am happy I got an answer," Troy said with a laugh.

After all the women stopped gushing over the ring and how amazing Troy was most of them got up to leave. Now it was just Gabriella, Troy, her parents, Juliana, and Kevin.

"I think we are going to head home," Gabriella said while standing up to give Juliana a hug. "Congratulations, he is beautiful."

"Congrats to the both of you as well."

They said goodbye and went down to their car. On their way home Troy looked over at Gabriella who was about to fall asleep, "Tired?"

Gabriella looked over at him with a smile, "A little. It was a long day. I'm just going to take a nap in the car because the only thing I could think of all day was how good you look in a suit."

Troy smiled and looked over at her when they got to a red light, "Really?"

She just looked at him and nodded. "You're ass looks amazing and dress pants."

Troy just laughed, "Maybe I should wear them more often."

Gabriella smiled and placed her hand on his thigh, "maybe you should."

He looked at her with his eyebrows raised, "Maybe I will."

Gabriella laughed a little, "Good."

They drove the rest way home quietly, with Gabriella falling asleep at some point. When they got home Troy carried Gabriella in and placed her into their bed. He undressed himself and got a pair of shorts and a t-shirt that Gabriella could wear to bed. He went over and took her heels off.

"Baby,"

"Mhm?"

"Do you want to get changed or do you want me to do it?"

"You do it," she mumbled back.

Troy smiled, "okay."

He helped her unzip her dress before laying her back down on the bed. He helped take her bra off before sliding the t-shirt over her head.

"I thought we were supposed to have sex tonight?" Gabriella said sleepily.

"You're exhausted right now, so how about you sleep now and when you wake up we can have has much sex as you want?" Troy responded beginning to put the shorts on.

"No,"

"No?" Troy asked confused.

"No shorts, I don't want to wear them tonight." She said rolling over cuddling into the pillow.

Troy just smiled as her bare ass was facing him. "Baby that's my side."

"Too bad." She said cuddling in more.

Troy laughed and laid down next to her pulling her back into him so his arm was around her waist.

"Babe," Gabriella whispered.

"What's up?"

"I'm cold,"

Troy laughed a little and moved to pull the comforter over them. Gabriella turned a little and kissed him, "I love you."

"I love you too." He kissed her again before pulling away and he moved the hair out of her face before leaning in and kissing her slowly.

"I want you to make love to me but I am so tired," Gabriella said against his lips.

Troy chuckled, "I told you the moment you wake up I will make love to you all day tomorrow."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

"Good," he rolled back over and settled her back into his front tightly. He kissed the back of her head and they fell asleep.

I didn't think it would take me this long to get this chapter out. I rewrote it about fifteen times before I finally liked it. I am so sorry for these long updates. I am the first to hate excuses, as I have said before, so I am not going to give any. I'm not sure when the next chapter is going to be up but I am working on it right now. I don't want to put up a bad chapter just to put a chapter up. I want to make sure I give you guys the best chapters I can. I really appreciate all the support and your patience is amazing.
