Chapter 3

6 months later...

Jack flew in circles around the castle, waiting for the orange sun to sink below the horizon. He had come back for another visit to Elsa, which he had been doing more often. Just about a month and a half ago, he had visited again, but was almost caught.

~flashback~

He landed on the window sill, getting ready to enter the girl's room, when he spotted a maid sitting in a rocking chair in the room. He looked in closer and saw that she was watching Elsa. Then, Elsa had spotted Jack and immediately stood up in her crib.

"Dak!" she said loud enough for him to hear, "Dak!"

The maid got up and made the little girl lay back down on her bed.

"Dak!" she cried as she refused to lay down.

"You must go to sleep princess Elsa! You have been staying up in the night many times and you must sleep." the maid said.

"Dak!" she began to cry.

Jack felt a knot in his throat. He tried to swallow, but it didn't go away. The maid continued to get the girl to go to sleep, but she continued to sob and yell, "Dak!"

Jack saw the tears streaming down the child's face. She saw him and wanted her friend to come and hold her, but he couldn't. He could only stand there watching the little girl cry out to him. Jack squeezed his eyes shut and covered his ears, but he could still hear Elsa. Jack looked at the little girl, who was finally laying down but still crying, and saw her reach out to him and say 'Dak' again.

Jack couldn't take it anymore. He jumped into the air and flew away. As he flew, he felt something cold and wet trial down his cheek. He wiped the side of his face, seeing that he had begun to cry. He was crying over seeing the little girl's heart break. He stopped and hovered in the air. He ran his hand threw his hair and shook his head. He looked back and continued to fly away.

~end flashback~

Jack still remembered the sad look on the little girls face. He shook his head and noticed that it was dark enough to visit Elsa again, this time, actually getting to say hello at least.

He flew down to the cobblestone window sill and peered into the window. He saw a sleeping Elsa, wrapped up in her blanked and cuddling a small bear. He smiled. Jack slowly opened the window and crept in. He leaned his arms along the rail and gazed upon her closed eyes. He reached down and stroked her hand before slipping his finger into her grasp. She shifted around and opened her eyes. Her sapphire eyes landed on the first thing she saw-Jack.

"Dak!" she said, beginning to stand up.

"Hey Elsa! Miss me?" Jack asked as they pulled each other into a warm embrace. She nodded.

As they hugged, Jack pulled Elsa out of her crib and held her. She looked up at him and smiled. Jack pulled himself away from the ground and laid back, placing Elsa on his chest. She sat up and looked across the room. She pointed to the other side. Jack frowned.

"Baby." she whispered.

Jack stood upright and looked to where Elsa was pointing. There was another crib on the other side of the room. Jack placed Elsa on the floor and walked over to the bed. Elsa, who was almost three, walked by Jack's side. Jack reached the crib and looked in. A small baby girl wrapped in a light green blanket slept soundly in the bed. Jack's eyes widened as he stared at the baby. He looked at Elsa for answers.

"Baby sister." she said quietly, "Anna."

He looked back at the baby. Would she be the same as Elsa? he thought, Having powers too?

Elsa grabbed his pant lag and pulled him towards her side of the room. He followed. Jack picked her up and walked by the window.

"So, I see you got a new sister." he said in monotone. She nodded.

He sighed. He thought about the little girl laying in the crib. Would she see him too? he thought. Would he not be able to come around? His thinking led to worry.

"Dak?"

Jack shook his head and realized Elsa had been saying his name.

"Ya?" he asked.

Without saying anything more, she leaned her head against his chest and began drifting off to sleep. Jack looked at the moon. The moon was full and white, like it was the day he first saw it. The only thing it told him about himself was that his name was Jack Frost. Nothing more, nothing less. It had been about a hundred years since then, but he still remembered it like yesterday.

Jack watched the moon slowly fade away as the sun began to come up. Once he noticed, he heard a loud thud that came from the hallway outside the room. He placed the sleeping Elsa in her crib, and walked towards the door. What's going on behind here? Jack thought. Jack slowly pushed ope the door and crept into the hallway.

It was like stepping into heaven or something. There were huge portraits of the former kings and queens who ruled before the king and queen who ruled now. There were beautiful velvet curtains that shaped the tall glass-pane windows. The carpets were the softest thing his feet had touched. The walls were covered in a gold and pink diamond pattern. There were candles in some places along the wall and a big wooded grandfather clock at the end of the hallway.

Jack walked along the hallway, taking everything in. He pressed his staff along the wall, leaving a frost trail along the wallpaper. As he did, the frost spiraled out into beautiful designs. He smiled.

Suddenly, a maid, who he didn't see walking behind him, passed right through him. Jack gasped. He breathed heavily for a few moments after while watching the maid. Whenever that happened, it felt like the wind had been knocked out of him. It, in general, felt strange when a person walked through him. He was invisible after all. To some people.

Jack decided to go back to Elsa's room. He walked back to the window and opened it. He took one last glance at Elsa again, saying,

"Bye, Snowflake." and left.
