About two months later
It's mid July now so that means me and Roni have been officially together for two months now. A week after we became a couple, I figured that I'd fly back out to New Jersey to visit my parents. Roni was okay with that she didn't want me to go so soon, but she understands how I barely get to see them and that family comes first before anything. When she said that it briefly flashed through my head that maybe I should take her with me. It only lasted a second or two before I pushed that out of my head. I like Roni but not quite enough to let her meet my family so soon maybe in the future but not right now. Anyway I figured I would go see my old friends and catch up on what's been going on in their lives. Which at this point most of them are all engaged, have kids, or are married with kids and I'm still here trying to figure out what I want in life. But that's okay because I'm not the single friend anymore I have Roni now. Then again it's always nice to see my friends and just hang out like old times, even though most of it was me telling them about my travels and what goes on behind the camera. The main thing I enjoyed was none of them brought up what happened back in December and that made me happy. Although my mother did bring it up to me one night while I was helping her cook dinner so I told her everything. I told her everything from when I found out she started to date Zack, to when I met Roni, to when Zi and I had our one night stand, to how I was just hanging out at Roni's, and how we are together now. I didn't really have an option I always tell my mom everything... Well at least the things that won't get me grounded. Yeah I'm 28 and I still get in trouble with my parents. I still love them though they're just looking out for me.
At this point my mom is very supportive of me and whatever it is I decide I want to do. I'm an adult and I can make my own decisions so there wasn't much she could say to that but just do what I feel is right in my heart, and if I'm over Zivile and into Roni then I should go for it. Always do what makes YOU happy and if it doesn't make you happy don't do it. And so right now being with Roni makes me happy so that's what I'm doing. Speaking of Roni I'm actually going to see her again in person in a bit. I'm excited to take her with me on the road I can't wait for her to meet Layla. Plus I think it will be nice to get good luck kisses before my matches for a bit while she's with me.
Right now my plane just landed in Minnesota that way I can pick up Roni and then from there we are going to take the corporate jet over to Kansas for Monday Night Raw tomorrow night. I honestly can't wait to get back to work nobody except the higher power know about my return. It's like I said I love working off the element of surprise so who knows what Aj Lee will do when she steps foot back in the ring. Besides I have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to WWE because the Smackdown after I lost my belt was the last production I watched from them, so I have no idea about what's going on backstage. I do know that Aksana is still champion with two successful title defenses under her belt now. I gotta say she makes one helluva champion, of course not better than me but she's up there. Doesn't matter because she won't be champ for long.
Ten minutes later.
"Hey stranger!" I smiled as I walked up to Roni as she was sitting down at a table at a Starbucks.
"Hey Starshine." She grinned before giving me a quick kiss. "It's about time you showed up I thought for sure you weren't going to come." That earned her another kiss.
"Yea right and miss out on traveling across the country for the next two weeks with a super hot chick?! I wouldn't miss this for the world!" I grinned sitting down across from her. "How long have you been waiting?"
"Well we got here about an hour ago. Then there is check in, security, and then it was deciding on what to get to eat. That probably took us twenty minutes to decide. Obviously you can see what won and then I sent him to get us yummy nummies while I sat and waited for you. Which now is probably five or six minutes." She spoke effortlessly. But all that I ignored because she kept talking in plural.
"What do you mean we?"
"Oh daddy insisted that Vinny tag along. I tried to convince him I'd be fine without him but he wasn't having it." She spoke before looking over at the line and I saw Vinny standing in line with a few people in front of him. She then turned back to me and looked me in the eyes. "But that's no problem because I run from him all the time. And you have perfect timing because I gave him a stupid crazy long order and he didn't write it down so I bet you he's too busy trying to remember what I told him. Thus meaning you have exactly twenty seconds to decide if you want to ditch him and book it to the jet. Or if you want to wait for him." She spoke in a very serious tone.
"Wait didn't they load his luggage on the jet?" I asked quickly in a panicky voice.
"Yep."
"How's he going to get it if it's with us?"
"He'll catch up to us eventually. Doesn't matter times up lets go. You know what gate we're going to because I don't know." She spoke slowly getting up as she was staring over at Vinny. I honestly don't know what's going on but I'm just going to follow her.
"Yea we gotta get to gate B19 and then from there we gotta walk the tarmac over to the jet." I spoke getting up with her.
"I know where that is... Now when I say run you fucking run don't look back just follow me and run." This is just trouble waiting to happen but I'm excited to do this. She then slowly started to walk out into the busy crowd of people walking by. Luckily the airport isn't to busy right now being it's almost noon. "RUN!" She whispered in my ear before taking off down the hall. Out of gut instinct I ran too. Holy fuck what the hell are we doing? As we weaved in and out of people we quickly came up on the gate we needed to be at. We ran quite the distance being we started nearby gate B5. I think we passed maybe close to fifteen gates I dunno I can't count and sprint while trying to avoid running into people at the same time. It was only a matter of time before we got to our gate. When we got there there were two flight attendants standing there with the WWE insignia on their ascots.
"Hello there Ms. Mendez and Ms. Clem-"
"Yea no we gotta go now!" I spoke quickly trying to catch my breath. "I'm April, that's Veronica and we're ready to go." They just gave me a crazy look before turning and lead us out to the jet. We made sure to rush them because it'd be a shame if all that running was put to waste if he caught up to us. But we made it. "Is your dad going to be mad at you? Actually am I going to be okay?" I asked sitting on the couch looking at her. She just laughed.
"Oh he is going to be pissed. But it's not like this is the first time I've done this so we're good. Besides I'm daddy's little girl so he'll get over it. Being an only daughter has its perks, and this is one."
"Looks like I'm dating a rebel huh?"
"Yeah. I mean I don't want to be followed by Vin when I'm with my girlfriend. It's just Roni and Aj quality time now." She smirked before leaning in for a kiss. Judging by how our day together started off I can already tell this is going to be an interesting two weeks.
Hour and a half later
We landed in Kansas City in probably less than an hour. It just took forever for us to take off something about air traffic. It was okay because I had Roni to keep me distracted pretty much for the whole flight. Really it was us reading all of the comments on the Instagram photo and Twitpic she posted of us making goofy faces. What makes it funny is nobody really knows for sure that we are dating. In the video we shot together we flirted a lot but we never kissed or anything of the affectionate stuff, so it was very hard to tell. As far as they know we are just friends. So reading all the comments of her fans arguing if we are an item or not was very entertaining to us. Plus I thought it was cute because they already have a pet name for us, Rapril. Seriously fans are the best people ever.
Anyway when we landed there was a car that picked us up and drove us to the hotel. Luckily nobody saw us check in so it's going to be a surprise when I show up tomorrow. I originally was going to get us a single bed room, but Roni talked me into getting a suite. Which turned out to be a great idea because it had an amazing view over the city with a balcony. After we settled in surprisingly Roni brought her PS4 and so we played Mortal Combat, Call of Duty, and GTA 5 together. The part I didn't like is she didn't have WWE 2k14, so that meant a field trip to the nearest store that sold video games. But then that turned into getting lunch, then to just walking around the city enjoying each other's company. By the time we finished walking we went back to the hotel and ordered room service for dinner. While we waited we played 2k14 and I beat her using any superstar besides myself. She even tried to beat me using me and failed. I did however let her win once because after a while winning gets kinda boring and because I'm a considerate person. Once the food came we ate and then went to bed. Today was a really good day.. Then again I always have a good day when I'm with Roni.
The next day
I got up early this morning and went to the gym by myself. It's back to my normal routine of working out and eating right. I slacked off a lot over the past two months or so, it's about time I get my ass back in shape. If I'm going to make my grand return then I gotta do it big or don't do it at all. By the time I got back Roni was just waking up so we both took showers, separately, got dressed, and headed out for breakfast. We didn't go far we settled on the restaurant that's part of the hotel. Then when we finished we basically spent the whole afternoon playing PS4 and messing around. To be honest I have no plans of breaking up with Roni we click so well and it's perfect. Zivile and I were compatible but not as compatible as me and Roni are. Roni is basically into everything I'm into more importantly she is just as immature as I am. We probably laugh at just about everything it's not everyday you meet someone as cool as her. We were having so much fun that before we knew it, it was time to go to the arena. There was a car out front already there to drive us there.
"Okay first thing first we have to go find my boss lady so we can get your VIP pass. Then I'll show you around." I spoke to Roni as we walked in the building. I made sure our hands were interlaced so nobody will bother stopping us.
"Okay that sounds fine." She spoke simply. Eventually we made it to Steph's office. Surprisingly she and Hunter didn't question me to death only that they expected to see great things from me now that I'm well rested and happy. After that we went to the Divas locker room so I could put my stuff down and so I can find Lay.
"Kay now when we go in there they will most likely stare at you. Don't let any of them intimidate you because none of them are actually about that life. However just let me do the talking first then you can say whatever." The girls are probably going to ask tons of questions and I don't want to overwhelm her.
"Okay. That doesn't matter anyway Roni fears no one." She stated sternly I couldn't help but kiss her after that she is so adorable.
"Kay lets go." With that I opened the door to see pretty much all the Divas in there except for one. "Wow I leave for three months and come back only to see you guys are all lost, have no fear your leader has returned!" I exclaimed getting them all to look at me.
"Aj!" Yelled Layla before tackling me down to the ground. "How come you didn't tell me you were coming back tonight!?" She questioned hitting me.
"You know I just love surprising you Lay. But get off me I don't want to have to postpone my return." She then got off me and got to her feet taking me with her.
"Where have you been?" Asked Nattie.
"You missed a lot of stuff that popped off around here." Added Naomi
"Well if you must know I was off finding what makes me happy." I answered.
"Ah... So you must be the famous Roni?" Lay stated as she circled around Roni checking her out. "Mmm I've heard lots about you. But I want you to know if you and Aj are dating you're dating me
too."
"Well then I guess that makes you Layla?" Roni asked looking at me briefly before turning her attention back to Lay. "I'm Roni it's finally nice to meet you. I gotta say you made a great decision to make Aj your bestie because she is so amazing." She smiled looking at me. I couldn't help the blush that came to my cheeks along with the grin. "I mean here I am standing in the presence of several beautiful women who are known worldwide by millions, and I still don't believe this is real."
"Ehh we aren't all that but I guess you can say we are pretty damn cool." Smirked Paige.
"What are you talking about they love Nattie here in Kansas." Spoke Alicia
"Well everyone loves Nattie and her heart stopping smile." Added Layla.
"You guys!" Nattie whined trying not to show her slight smile.
"It's probably her big brown eyes. I mean who can resist them?" I spoke.
"Awe stop you're going to make me get emotional." Pouted Nattie.
"See I told you she's a thousand times cuter in person." I spoke nudging Roni. I figured a while back that if Roni is going to be a wrestler's girl she should know who my co-workers are. So we watched a bunch of different matches and I taught her everything there is to know about who I work with. It was only natural that we spent a little bit longer on the Divas. I mean you can't tell me you don't think Nattie is a hottie, and plastic or not I'd motorboat Nikki.
"Wait Nattie you're married aren't you?" Asked Roni.
"Yup to my best friend since I was ten."
"Damn.." She sighed in defeat.
"Hey!" I just realized what she did.
"I'm kidding. I only have eyes for you, I know better than that." Roni cooed wrapping me up in a hug.
"Nice save." I spoke as I pulled away. I then found an empty locker and put my bag down.
"Aj do you have a match tonight?" Asked Paige.
"I dunno why?" If I do have a match tonight I highly doubt it'd be against her. Being it'd be more logical for me to face Aksana.
"Because Aksana is scheduled to compete tonight against Cam. Then it's just a bunch of question marks on the card before the next match. It isn't the guys because the would have written it on there. And since you somehow always seem to know everything I assumed you knew." She answered.
"Hmm.. Well then I guess I'll have to check the card for myself." I shrugged before walking back over to Roni. "I'll come back and let you know what the plan is."
"Okay that's fine."
"Kay well we're going to catering or to go investigate I dunno. See you guys later." And with that I drug Roni out the locker room and down the hall. I'm in no rush I just really want to know what tonight's plan is for me.
Zivile's POV
I've officially been champion for little over a hundred days now, with two title defenses under my belt. To be honest I've been having a lot of fun being champ. I don't get those stupid looks of pity anymore just looks of respect. It's as if last December never happened because everyone is still stuck on the fact I took the belt from Aj. Plus since Aj disappeared all eyes have been on me and I like it. Because all they care about is who's going to be my next victim in my path of violence now that I'm on top. So far it's been Paige and Tamina. I cut back a bit on all the crazy stunts, but every now and then I'll start a fight backstage and brawl all over the arena. SummerSlam is right around the corner so that means there's going to be a new number one contender for my title soon. I don't know who it is yet but I was told I'd find out soon. I have no fear about who it is because I will destroy them to.
For now I just have a normal match against Cameron tonight. Really it's an easy night for me just go in, kick ass, celebrate, then go back to the hotel. Its been so crazy hectic for me since we got back home from our European tour. I never realized how much harder you have to work when you're champion. I have house shows on the weekends, main shows during the week, with the days in between to travel to the next show. Yea it's a pretty tiring lifestyle but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Besides it's not that bad because I have-
"Hey babe you are you ready? You've been in the bathroom for half an hour now and I'm very hungry." Whined Zack as he poked his head in the bathroom. Yea they reinstated him earlier this month so he's been keeping me sane as of late. "You said we shouldn't stop for lunch and now I'm starving." He is such a little kid but he is so adorable when he acts like this.
"Alright fine I'm done anyway." I'm not done getting ready. I already changed into my attire so I was working on my makeup. I mean it's done... But it's not as good as I would want it to be. I'll let him have his way today because he's been a trooper putting up with me for a while now. "Kay you ready?" I spoke trying not to show that I'm slightly annoyed by him right now.
"Babe if you aren't done it's okay I-"
"No it's too late now let's just go." I spoke walking past him out into the room. Oh I forgot to mention I get my own locker room now so that's another plus about being champ. I then grabbed my phone off the table being it was charging. "Well come on let's go." I then headed to the door and opened it but before I could open it Zack reached over me and pushed the door closed. "What are-" was all I could get out before he pulled me into his grasp and kissed me. Ideally I'd be upset with him but when he wraps me up in his arms I forget what I was mad about. I try to act like it doesn't affect me but I know he knows and that's why he does it. Then again I think he just likes holding me.
"I'm sorry babe. I don't want you to go out there mad at me." He spoke softly kissing my cheek. "I only asked because I assumed you were done. I mean let's be honest I don't think you need all that makeup anyway. You look beautiful just like this and I don't see why you would need anymore makeup. But I want you to feel beautiful so if you want to go finish go ahead I'll wait." He then let me go and backed away allowing me to go back to the bathroom. This is another thing I hate.. Okay not really but it's frustrating because he always knows when I'm upset with him and he always says something cute that makes me reconsider why I was upset with him. Because now I don't feel like I need to finish my makeup because if he likes it then that's really all that matters. "Go I don't want you to leave if you don't feel confident." To that I just pouted at him now I kinda feel bad.
"No you're right I don't need anymore." I cooed as I walked closer to him and wrapped my arms around his waist. "I'm sorry." He didn't have to say anything because I heard his stomach grumble. "Kay let's go eat then." I smiled before kissing him on the cheek. This time we actually left and we went to catering. For some odd reason it was rather crowded in there today. It usually never is but I guess that's because everyone is trying to get their fix before opening bell. All it did was remind me that I have to talk to Alicia because I haven't seen her in a few days.
Anyway me and Zack waited in line and got our food. Like always I didn't get much because I have a match later today. We then sat down at a table with our other colleagues and ate. And when I say colleagues I mean Zack's friends. I like them they are cool but I don't really ever talk to them unless I'm with Zack. But it is what it is. To my luck Alicia just texted me telling me she was on her way to catering now.
"You okay babe?" Asked Zack being he is sitting to my right.
"Yeah I'm fine why?"
"I dunno you're unusually quiet right now and I want to make sure you're okay."
"No I'm just tired I guess. Need a good nap." I spoke. It isn't a lie I haven't really been sleeping much as of late. I dunno it's been like that ever since the Wrestlemania incident. I still go to sleep but not as long as I would like too.
"Oh well I promise you an all night snuggle session when we get back to the room." He smiled getting me to smile. He is such a teddy bear and I love that about him.
"Okay."
"Kay, I love you." He then kissed me on the cheek before turning back to his food. Yea I'm still trying to get use to hearing him say that to me. It does get awkward sometimes because I still can't bring myself to say it back to him... I mean I want to love him but I'm scared of getting hurt again. Yeah he's given me every sign there is to give when it comes to proving to me he won't hurt me. The bracelet he got me is a constant reminder, but I can't help it the last time I told someone I loved them they broke my heart. I don't ever want to have to go through that again. It's okay because I know he understands why I haven't said it back. I just want to make sure that this isn't just some game. Coincidentally it was a minute after that I spotted Alicia across the room getting something to eat. I'll take any excuse I can get to get away from him for a bit right now.
"Umm I'm going to go talk to Licia, I'll catch up to you later." I spoke quickly as I got up.
"Okay that's fine." He shrugged taking a sip of his water. So I kissed him on the cheek before grabbing my plate and walking towards Alicia throwing it out on my way over there.
"Licia you showed up at a good time because-" It was then that she turned to face me and I quickly realized it wasn't Alicia... "Oh jeez I am so sorry I thought you were someone else."
"Ehh it happens to the best of us." She spoke. Hmm now that I'm closer to her I noticed Alicia isn't as curvy as this woman was, and she definitely does not have hazel-greenish eyes. But come to think of it this chick is pretty cute. I mean if I was single and Zack wasn't sitting on the other side of the room I would definitely get her number. I only say that because my gaydar is going crazy right now. Then again she's wearing a shirt that says "I kiss girls who kiss other girls'. Then again it could mean nothing but I don't think that's the case here. "Wait a second... You're Zivile aren't you?" She asked in an amused voice. Ideally I'd find this somewhat weird but I've never seen her backstage before. I also noticed she's wearing a visitors pass meaning she's with someone backstage. Plus if she were a fan she would have called me Aksana and not by my real name.
"Yeah in the flesh." I smirked, she just smiled and chuckled to herself while checking me out. That only confirmed my theory she is either gay or bisexual. They don't call me the sultry diva for nothing so time to turn on my charm. "I'd be happy to sign an autograph if that's what you want.. Then again we could take a photo together also if you want. Or we can do both if you're up for it." I spoke in a semi-flirty serious tone. She just giggled a bit and stared at me in amusement.
"Wow she wasn't kidding when she said you are the master of seduction. You know I didn't believe her when she said you could probably seduce an orange to turn into a lemon, but now that I experienced it for myself I get it now." What the hell is she talking about? I legit have never seen her before in my life. So I just gave her a weird look.
"What?" That got her to just smile even wider. When she did that I noticed she has dimples on the sides of her chin underneath her smile. To be honest even though I'm kinda creeped out by her it's kinda cute.
"I gotta say I honestly was kinda worried that'd you'd be stiff competition but I guess the TV worked magic on you. I mean on screen you look sexy as fuck but now that I see you in real life I realized you aren't really that much of a competition for me. Don't get me wrong you are like unnecessarily beautiful I'd take you home with me, but unfortunately for you I'm taken."
"Excuse me!" Who the hell does she think she is?
"I think it's safe to say I'm definitely an upgrade compared to you." She smirked. I can't even explain how I feel right now. Part of me wants to slap the taste out of her mouth, another small part wants to kiss her, and the rest wants to return fire. Now I have to be smart about this being I can't get into any trouble as the Divas champion.
"And who are you again?" I asked with attitude. I swear whoever she came with is about to regret bringing her here.
"Roni look I got you one of my shirts to wear!" Roni? I recognize that voice and I haven't heard it in little over two months maybe three. "See I told you I-" It was then that Aj came and stood in front of Roni I guess. She then turned and looked at me and frowned a little bit. "Oh well this is a little awkward... you aren't supposed to know I'm here." She spoke awkwardly. Of course this all makes sense now. She must be the girl Aj was smitten over. I don't know why because she is a bitch.
"Is she with you?" I asked pointing to her friend.
"Umm yeah. Uh Zivile this is Veronica... My girlfriend." Aj spoke pointing to her.
"I prefer it if you call me Roni. Nice to meet you Zivile." She smiled as she wrapped one arm around Aj's waist and stuck the other out for me to shake. I just looked at her hand then back to her face. I don't care who she is after what she said to me prior to Aj stepping in between us I'm not shaking her hand. But then I have to remember that I'm the Divas champion and as champion it is my job to set an example.
"Nice to meet you too... Veronica." I spoke in a firm monotone as I shook her hand. I made sure to stare her directly in the eyes as I said it. I gotta let her know who runs stuff backstage, this is my house and I'll be damned if she thinks she can come in her and try to disrespect me like that. "Anyway Aj it's good to know you're back and ready to fight I assume?" I asked pretending Roni isn't even here anymore.
"Who are you kidding I'm itching to get back in the ring. The world misses WWE's residential love seeking crazy chick. None to mention I believe the last time we saw each other you stole something that belongs to me and it's about time I get it back." She devilishly grinned.
"I didn't intend to steal your pride but someone had to shut you up." I challenged. That got her to break out of Roni's grasp and get in my face. It's good to know we'll be able to pick this rivalry back up where we left it. "Maybe next time you should replace the time you spent running your mouth about nothing and spend it actually fighting."
"You think you're so funny don't you? That was a fluke and you know it but it's okay I'll let you enjoy being champion because it's only a matter of time before I reclaim what's mine." She spoke in her classic psycho Aj Lee voice as she cocked her hair to the side.
"I broke Brie's arm, I threw Nikki off a loading dock and crushed her under a crate, I tackled Paige off the stage into a table, and I rammed Tamina head first into a locker leaving a dent. I almost snapped your spine in half at Wrestlemania and I'd happily finish the job this time." I purred.
"Do you really want to go there. You can't out crazy a crazy chick." She countered.
"Actually I don't know if you know this but they call me the foreign psychotic vixen. Nobody cares about crazy they want psychotic." I grinned because I know I won this battle. She just glared at me before busting out in laughter getting me to laugh also.
"It's good to know you haven't missed a beat!" She smiled.
"I'm always on beat. It's good to see you back." I said honestly. None of the other Divas can give me a run for my money the way Aj does. I think that's the main reason why the fans love it so much because they know we know each other like the back of our hand.
"It's good to be back." She smiled. Then there was an awkward comfortable silence before I spotted Zack staring at me over by the exit. So that's my cue to leave.
"Anyway I gotta go finish getting ready for my match later. I'll see you around." I said simply giving Aj a quick hug.
"Okay good luck." I then pulled away and began walking towards Zack. There's no need for me to pretend he isn't my boyfriend because she already knows.
"Thanks. I hope you enjoy the show Roni." I grinned winking at her. I then turned around completely and headed to Zack. "Hey!"
"When did Aj come back?" He questioned as we headed down the hall and toward the locker room.
"I'm not exactly sure I didn't ask. But it's all good there's nothing to worry about she has a girlfriend now." I shrugged. I only told him to hopefully help put him at ease with the whole Leeana storyline coming up.
"Really?"
"Yea the girl that was standing behind her."
"Huh from where I was sitting I kinda thought it was Alicia."
"I know that's what I thought too but no. Her name is Roni." I explained. Now that I hear myself saying all that out loud it somewhat puts me at ease knowing that now maybe Aj will stop harassing me. I mean she hasn't talked to me since the night I won my belt, which in all honesty surprised me. I didn't even get a happy birthday text or call from her on my birthday back in April. Seeing she has someone to call hers maybe this Leeana story won't be too hard.
OMG the amount of shade that was thrown in this chapter has my ass sitting in complete and total darkness like I need to go find my flashlight. And for those of you who don't know what I mean by "Shade" just go to urban dictionary. You can do that for basically all the words I use that you don't understand. I'm from south Jersey and we talk a lot of slang. But I try to limit it to using it in just my notes here. The funny thing about this sentence is by the time you realize it says pretty much nothing it will already be too late. Ha NOOB! ~Joz
