Hello everyone! Ulqui here and today, we have another chapter of JOSLP!
If you guys noticed, I tend to change writing styles. This is because as I am new to writing fanfiction, I want to write in a style that suits me, so sorry in advance.
I plan to regularly update this story at least once per month. But if I feel like I am on a roll, I can do two updates in a month.
I was not able to contact my regular beta, Sashiro, because she is currently busy with life. And as a result, this chapter may have grammatical errors. So if anyone would like to be my beta for this story, please feel free to ask me. I really need the help.
And suggestions for Jaune's Semblance will not be accepted anymore, as I had already picked his semblance since a few weeks ago.
On an unrelated note, Drones, the new Muse album, surely did not disappoint for me. Definitely better than the last two albums for sure. 8/10

Chapter 4
"BIRDIE NO!"
"Well, I guess I know where Ruby is." Jaune said as he was trying to find the relics, with Ren right behind him. He sighs in frustration as he glares at the sky. Even though Jaune had been overlooking the initiation exams with Ozpin for the past 7 years, he still found it hard to navigate the forest. "I am so going to kick Ozzy's ass to oblivion when we come back." Ren's mouth twitched as he imagined a mini-Jaune who curb stomped a mini-Ozpin repeatedly. "So Ren…"
"Hmm?"
"Were you expecting me to be your partner?" Jaune asked as he unsheathes his sword cut down some branches and plants blocking their way.
"To be honest? It was either you or Nora."
"You two must be really close, huh?"
"Yeah. She will be a bit mad at me for the fact that I am not her partner." Jaune just gave off a small laugh.
"Whipped."
"Shut it." Ren mock-glared at the back of Jaune's head as they kept on walking. He knew for the fact that Jaune was just joking around.
Ruby felt nervous.
She felt scared.
For the fact that if her eyes met with another's, that person will become her partner…
…for the next four years…
FOUR. FREAKING. YEARS.
Ruby ran as fast as she can around the forest, hoping that she could find her sister or even Jaune, as those two people were the only ones that she can trust with her life.
Yang is an obvious choice. Even though they were half-sisters, it did not matter to either of us because we care for each other since they were little. But for Jaune…
He was like a hero to her.
Her father, Taiyang Xiao Long, kept on telling stories about him teaming up with Jaune in a number of missions. Like the time where Jaune helped evacuated a whole town's inhabitants on his own while her father and the Valean army try to distract the Grimm attacking the town of Primm. Or how Jaune managed to keep up with a Nevermore so that her father will be able to arrive and kill it. With how he managed to pull these off at such a young age, he is the definition of a true hunter. Well, at least for her…
'I hope me and Jaune can be partners… We can get to kick some Grimm butt together' Ruby smiled at the thought as she kept on running as fast as she can.
Weiss Schnee was getting impatient.
She was walking for a full hour and there is still no sign of the relics. And she does not have a partner yet!
She wanted her partner to be highly skilled in battle. One that will not get in her way for being weak. So that she will become well-known around Beacon as an unstoppable force. Not that she is not well-known, being the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company. As of now, there were two candidates that were perfect for being her partner.
Pyrrha Nikos and Jaune Arc. Both of them have the influence and skill that can help increase her own.
Pyrrha, who was a child prodigy, has been popular ever since she was a little child. I mean she has her own image on a cereal box! The people of Mistral proudly call her "Mistral's Red-Haired Spartan" for her brutal fights against other students during her time at Sanctum Academy. The Nikos family is known for being very skilled in battle, and Pyrrha was not an exception.
And then there's Jaune Arc. Sure compared to Pyrrha, his time being popular is short, but his popularity grew massively during that very short period. Heck, with everything that she had heard about Jaune, he might possibly be just as good as Pyrrha Nikos. And for the fact that he was trained by Ozpin himself, who is the headmaster of Beacon…
If not Pyrrha… She MUST have him as her partner! No matter what it takes!
A dark blur moved around the forest.
Blake Belladonna, while she looked calm on the outside, she is really scared on the inside.
What if her future partner was a faunus hater? Would her future partner hate me for what I am?
She was sick and tired of being bullied by humans, which is why she hid her cat ears in the first place. And so far, a lot of humans were stupid enough to think that I am not a faunus. And for understandable reasons, she never trusted humans very easily… However, there were a handful of people that had the potential to be her partner… And Jaune Arc was one of them.
From what she had heard from newspapers, radio station and rumors, Jaune despised those who heavily discriminate the faunus, and had no second thoughts in helping other people when they were in need, whether they were human or faunus. For this particular reason, she though that he would be the perfect partner for her.
And as for Ruby and Yang, they seemed to be very nice people whether they were faunus or human, but since they just met last night, it was too early to fully trust the two siblings.
'I need to find him... He might be the only one I can trust…' Blake thought to herself as she dashed through the forest.
"ALL OF YOU ARE DEAD!"
Yang was feeling exhausted. She walked around in random directions, so that she would find either Ruby or Jaune.
Well, at least that was the plan before a beowolf suddenly appeared out of nowhere and had cut a strand of her har.
HER. GLORIOUS. HAIR.
Mom was the one who styled her hair like this back when she was younger, and ever since then she did her best to try to keep her hair that way. You mess with the hair, you get a beating of a lifetime!
And gave them a beating she did! Well, not so much of a beating but more of a slaughter. Every single Grimm, whether they were Beowolves or Ursas, were killed by yours truly!
As I had calmed down after there were no more Grimm nearby, she thought of how Ruby and Jaune were doing.
As expected from a person like her, she hoped that Ruby will be doing fine. Yang thought that having someone else to be Ruby's partner would help her socialize more with other people. She blamed her dad and Uncle Qrow for converting her sister into a weapons nerd! But that does not mean that she would not come to her aid if Ruby needed it. As her older sister, Yang will do anything to keep her safe from harm.
As for Jaune, if her little sister managed to get him as her partner, she would not mind at all. One look at his eyes was all it took to see what kind of person he truly is. He cares a lot for his loved ones, just like how she cares for hers. Unlike other men who would continue to stare at her body, particularly her breasts, Jaune looked too shy to do anything perverted. Also for the fact that his actions made the people of Vale worship him like a hero…
He is SO the perfect boyfriend material!
Yang does not care that Ruby has a crush on him, she totally saw him first on the airship!
'Finders Keepers~!' Yang gave out a small giggle as she ran forward, leaving behind a path of dead Grimm.
As Pyrrha Nikos ran as fast as she can, she secretly hoped that the relics were near, as she tried her best to keep up with her partner, who ran faster than she can.
"Pancakes, Pancakes, PANCAKES~!" A familiar orange-haired girl sang out as she jumped from tree to tree. Nora was a bit sad that Ren was not her partner, but at least there's a small chance that they will be on the same team!
Pyrrha just shook her head with a mixture of amusement and irritation. Who knew that a girl like her would have so much energy?
She then wondered on how Jaune was doing. For some reason, she felt like she needed to support him like it was a responsibility. Pyrrha then shook those thoughts out of her head as she tried to catch up with Nora.
'I just hope Jaune will be okay…'
"Hey Jaune… Do you think that the relics are in here?" Ren and Jaune managed to find a cave with strange markings engraved on the walls. The symbols depict men battling giant creatures. As Jaune saw the markings, he narrowed his eyes in suspicion.
'If this is what I think it is…' Jaune immediately ran inside the cave as he pulls out a remote detonator. "Wait here for a sec!" He said to Ren as he disappeared from Ren's sight.
"Ummm…. Okay?" After a few minutes of waiting, Ren felt the ground shaking as he saw Jaune running away from the cave as fast as he can. "Hey Jaune! Why are you ru-" Ren tried to asked Jaune, but he suddenly grabbed the back of his collar and dragged him away from the cave.
"NO TIME! JUST HAUL ASS!" As soon as Jaune finished his sentence, he activated the detonator, which caused an explosion that block the cave with debris. After a few seconds, a giant scorpion, whose body is covered in what appears to be bone plates and has a glowing stinger, charged through the debris. After making a loud rattle, it proceeded to chase the duo with surprising speed for its size. Ren simply stared at the scorpion, eyes filled with fear before he turned to Jaune with an enraged face.
"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME, JAUNE?! THAT WAS A DEATH STALKER, AND YOU AGITATED IT! HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?!" Ren, surprisingly shouted angrily at Jaune, who just gave him a small grin.
"I was hoping to kill it with the explosives that I brought, but oh well. At least it is injured. Look." Ren looked back at the Death Stalker to find that a few of its legs were bleeding, and that it looked like the Death Stalker was having difficulty in moving properly. "It was a good thing I placed the most of the explosives on the ground. Death Stalkers usually move much faster than that. NOW IF YOU WANT TO FUCKING LIVE, STOP COMPLAINING AND MOVE YOUR LOUSY ASS LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW!" Ren just gave Jaune a fearful stare.
"YOU ARE SO SUICIDAL!" Jaune managed to release his grip on Ren as he tried to catch up with Jaune.
"I KNOW! IT'S PART OF THE FUN! HAHAHAHAHA!" Jaune laughed out loud as they ran for their lives from the giant scorpion Grimm.
"Was that Jaune?"
"AND RENNY?!" Pyrrha and Nora asked each other as they heard the two mean screaming at each other. As they gave each other a nod of agreement, they head off to try to catch up with the two men.
'I hope that Jaune will be okay…'
Blake suddenly turned her head to the direction of Jaune and Ren's screams as her cat ears started twitching. Whatever was chasing Jaune, it was bad news. By instinct, she ran towards Jaune's last known location.
'I need to provide aid as soon as I can…' Blake thought to herself as she unsheathed her weapons to prepare herself for possibly a very difficult battle.
As Weiss heard the screams, she gave a small grin. 'I finally found you Arc.' Just like the other girls, she headed off to the direction where Jaune's screams were located with a determined look on her face.
'I WILL have him as my partner, and he will see that I am the perfect partner for him!'
Yang grinned when she heard Jaune screaming out to the heavens. She punches the palm of her hand in anticipation as she also ran toward Jaune's screams.
'Well, looks like we will be seeing each other after all Vomit Boy! Time to kill some more Grimm!'
As she said that, her usual lilac eyes suddenly turned crimson-red.
Ruby perked up as she heard Jaune screaming. Using her semblance, she ran towards him at a very fast pace.
'Finally! I can get him to be my partner!'
"Whew! Looks like we lost it…" After they ran for like what seems to be forever, they somehow managed to escape from the Death Stalker… for now at least. They arrived at what seems to be an Old World temple. Jaune barely broke a sweat while Ren laid down on the ground, obviously tired as he took in breaths of air.
"Or *pant* maybe it's *pant* trying to ambush *pant* us! We could have *pant* been killed!"
"We're still alive, aren't we? Either way, we finally found the relics! Which are… chess pieces?" Jaune and Ren, after he got up from the ground, stared at the chess pieces, which were placed on a pedestal inside the temple, in confusion. These were supposed to be the relics that we were trying to find? "... Well, I was honestly not expecting chess pieces but I guess it doesn't matter now. Which chess piece should we pick?" He asked Ren as he carefully examined the different chess pieces while Ren had done the same.
"Hmmmm…. The white rook." Ren replied as he took a white rook piece from the pedestal.
"Really? Any particular reason why?" Jaune curiously asked Ren, wondering why he chose that particular piece.
"To be honest? I don't really know… It feels like that I need to pick this particular piece… Almost as if a godlike figure already chose our path." Ren said to him as he tossed the rook piece to Jaune, who brought it closer to his eye to examine it further.
"Huh. Who knew you are the kind of guy who believes in destiny?" He placed the rook piece in one of his pockets as he walked out of the temple. "Well, we got what we need. Now let's-"
"FINALLY FOUND YOU!" Five out of six people who just arrived near the temple tackled Jaune to the ground. The one girl who did not tackle Jaune tackled Ren instead.
"RENNY!" Nora screamed out as she buried her face on Ren's chest. Ren, with a heavy blush on his face, turned his head to look at Jaune, who for reasons unknown to him, had a horrified look on his face. Jaune's body stiffened, his eyes widened, his jaw dropped, and he started sweating a bit.
*Meanwhile, in Jaune's mindscape…*
Mayor mini-Jaune sighed in relief as the city of Jauneville was finally fixed from the panic attack earlier. "Well, it took a lot of hard work, but we finally restored everything back to normal! Now there is nothi-!" Suddenly, he was interrupted by a loud siren.
"Danger! Tactical Nuke Inbound! Danger Close!" A robotic voice was heard throughout the entire city, and as a result, the mini-Jaunes started to panic, but unlike before, every single mini-Jaune began to panic. Including the mayor himself.
"Curse my dumb mouth!" That was his last statement before Jaune's mindscape exploded, leaving behind a total wasteland.
*Back to reality…*
As Jaune managed to snap out of his shock, he instinctively moved away from the girls in a flash and he hid himself behind the pedestal. "D-Don't surprise me like that!" He managed to sputter out as the girls bowed their heads in embarrassment. "Besides, if you guys are only looking for me because you guys want me as your partner, well tough luck! Because I already have one!" As soon as he finished his sentence, the rest of the girls, excluding Pyrrha and Nora, just widened their eyes as they thought the same thing…
'If Jaune is taken… Who would be my partner?!' Almost by instinct, Blake and Yang looked at each other with a neutral look on their faces, where Blake just gave a nod while Yang just shrugged at response.
'She's an alright alternative I guess…' Both of them thought to themselves as Ruby and Weiss also stared at each other, this time with horror.
'Oh god, why would you punish me?!' Suddenly, a loud caw is heard from the outside of the temple.
'If this is what I think it is…' Jaune immediately ran towards the exit to investigate, with Ren not far behind after he released himself from Nora's grip. What they found is a big, black bird with a bone-like mask on its head. "Fuck… A Nevermore… Girls! Get over here and help us fight this thing!" He shouted towards the girls as he unsheathed his sword while Ren took out his SMGs and tried his best to shoot it. Both Blake and Ruby took a white knight piece before they left the temple along with their respective partners and the pair of Pyrrha and Nora, who took the white rook piece. Once they saw the Nevermore, they prepared themselves for battle, but then a huge stinger suddenly came at the girls from above, which made the girls jump away from it. It turned out that the stinger belonged to the same Deathstalker that chased Jaune and Ren earlier.
"Fuck… Just my luck… Nora!" Nora turned to Jaune "Shoot grenades under the Deathstalker!" With a salute, Nora jumped away from the Deathstalker as she changed the form of her weapon into a grenade launcher. "Ren! When its belly is exposed, keep on shooting!" Ren nodded as he tried to keep his distance from the Deathstalker while maintaining a good shot. "Pyrrha! You're with me, we'll act as bait!" Pyrrha nodded as she took out her spear and shield. "The rest! Go attack that Nevermore!" Jaune ordered the rest of the girls, as they readied their weapons.
"A Nevermore and A Deathstalker?! We'll never come out of here alive!" Weiss screamed out with a bit of fear in her voice. Ruby, with a grin on her face, suddenly charged at the Nevermore without a care in the world.
"Not if I can help it!" Once Crescent Rose turned into its gun form, Ruby jumped and then shot the ground below her to gain momentum. Before she could get close to it, it flew away from her, which made Ruby attack nothing but air. As Ruby fell to the ground, the Nevermore stopped flying in a random direction and it suddenly charged at Ruby as she recovered from the fall.
"Oh no you don't… Pyrrha! Keep distracting it!" Jaune ordered Pyrrha as he ran as fast as he can towards Ruby. He managed to push Ruby out of the way, but that also meant that he became the Nevermore's target. Ruby just stared in horror as she was about to witness what will be her hero's demise. Jaune deployed his shield in front of him, even though he knew that the resulting attack will be fatal as he closed his eyes to be prepared for the pain…
… But it never came…
Instead, the Nevermore cried out in pain as it flapped its wings rapidly while it tried to fly away, which made Jaune confused. Once he opened his eyes, he saw Ruby staring at him in awe, along with Weiss, Blake and Yang. Ren, Pyrrha and Nora were not able to notice much as they were fighting the Deathstalker. Jaune then proceeded to look at its own body to notice that a greenish aura surrounded him.
"What… What is this?" Jaune asked them in confusion as he placed his hands on his own body. Weiss broke the silence as she continued to stare at him in awe.
"… This… This must be your semblance…" The aura that surrounded Jaune disappeared as fast as it appeared.
"My… Semblance?" Before Weiss was able to reply, Blake had beaten her to it.
"It seems that your Semblance, once activated, can absorb the incoming damage if not lessen the damage…" The Nevermore, after it had recovered, proceeded to charge at Jaune again with a loud caw. As Jaune was about to deploy his shield again…
'Slash your sword at the Nevermore before it comes close!'
Jaune's eyes widened as he heard a mysterious, deep voice spoke to him. He managed to compose himself before he slashed his sword. Suddenly, a wave of green energy rushed at the Nevermore in high speed. As the energy wave made contact with the Nevermore, it caused an explosion that managed to make the ground tremble slightly. As the smoke dissipated, the Nevermore, more like what was left of it, fell to the ground as bits of the Nevermore fell down like raindrops. Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang continued to stare at Jaune in wonder.
"Interesting…" Weiss said. "The power of your energy slash can depend on how much damage that you have taken… Your semblance is truly-"
"AWESOME!" Exclaimed both Ruby and Yang as they pumped their fists in the air. Weiss placed a palm on her face with a sigh to hide a small smile at the two siblings' antics while Blake rolled her eyes in amusement.
"I would have preferred remarkable, but that can suffice." When Weiss looked at the two sisters, she thought of the times between her and her sister, Winter back when they were on… better terms… Suddenly, a loud thud was heard as the Deathstalker almost hit Pyrrha with its stinger by a few feet. The Deathstalker was having difficulty in removing its stinger as it was stuck on the ground.
"Jaune! We could use some help around here!" Pyrrha screamed out loud as she jumped away from the Deathstalker. Jaune, who saw an opportunity, suddenly ran towards it's behind.
"Everyone! Head back to Beacon immediately! Do not stop for anything!" Once everyone else managed to go a certain distance away from the area, he took out a mini-nuke that is as big as a regular drinking glass and he rolled it towards the Deathstalker. Once it is underneath the Deathstalker, he immediately ran away from it, pulled out a small detonator from his pocket, and used it to make the bomb explode. The resulting explosion managed to engulf the Deathstalker in flames. Once the flames and smoke cleared out, the dead carcass of the big creature of Grimm was left, with a bit of the underbelly of the Deathstalker blown off. Once Jaune inspected his work with a proud look on his face, he headed off back to Beacon hastily, as the fight would surely attract more Grimm into the area. 'I hope that everyone will arrive back at Beacon in one piece…'
"Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark." Ozpin said to the four students mentioned, who were standing right in front of him in a platform in the auditorium, with Glynda right next to him. A big monitor appeared behind the four students, which showed their profiles. Jaune and company managed to get to Beacon safely. And now they were spectating the assignment of teams. "The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team CRDL, led by... Cardin Winchester!" A round of applause was given by the audience as Team CRDL walked out of the platform.
"Next… Would Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, Pyrrha Nikos and Lie Ren please proceed to the platform?" Glynda said through a microphone as the people mentioned looked at each other.
"Well… Let's go guys." Jaune said to them before they went to the platform to stand in front of Ozpin, who gave Jaune a proud look on his face.
"Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR. Led by... Jaune Arc!" The crowd gave a round of applause as Nora pulled the rest of her team in a group hug. Ren eagerly hugged her childhood friend back as he was happy that two of his friends were on the same team as him. Pyrrha was surprised at first, but she eventually hugged back as well, amused by the situation. Jaune however felt a bit uncomfortable as he was hugged by two girls, but he was able to hide his discomfort so that he would not ruin the moment. He turned his gaze to Ozpin, who just continued to stare at him with a proud look.
"Make me proud, Mr. Arc." Ozpin said to him as Jaune nodded his head. After he managed to convince Nora to let go and exit the platform, Ozpin finally called the last team to be assigned.
"Would Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long please proceed to the platform?" As Ruby heard their names being called out by Glynda, she hastily dragged Weiss and Yang towards the platform with surprising strength, with Blake not far behind them who calmly walked towards the platform. After Weiss berated Ruby for her actions and Yang gave Ruby a flick to the forehead, Ruby along with her teammates stood in front of Ozpin silently.
"And finally: Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long. The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Led by... Ruby Rose!" Weiss just stared at Ruby, surprised and offended that she was not made leader. Ruby just stared at Ozpin with her jaw and eyes wide open. Blake gave a small smile as she gently clapped along with the audience. Yang just gave her sister a big hug.
"I am so proud of you, sis!" Yang squealed out as Ruby got out of her shock and hugged her sister back awkwardly with a small smile on her face, slightly embarrassed.
"Y-Yang! Stop!" Ozpin stared at Team RWBY with a small smile on his face.
'Things will surely become interesting for the upcoming four years…' He thought to himself as he turned his gaze to Jaune, who was cheering for Team RWBY along with his teammates. 'And it seems that he is slowly overcoming his fear bit by bit… If Arno and Elise were here… They would had been proud of you…'
"Huh… My team's dorm is just right across yours Ruby…" Said Jaune as teams RWBY and JNPR headed out to their respective dorms. Blake, Jaune and Ren just walked along silently, Nora was singing a song about Pancakes, Pyrrha and Weiss were talking about battle strategies, and the two sisters were talking about their dog, Zwei.
"Huh… Well, looks like we don't need to go very far when we need each other's help!" Ruby replied as she opened the door to her team's dorm as Jaune opened his. "Good Night guys!" Ruby waved at Team JNPR, who were waving back at her.
"Good Night!" Everyone said to each other before they entered their respective dorms. Once Team JNPR entered, Jaune examined the room. It was a simple dorm room with two wardrobes, two windows, and two small bathrooms so that no one would wait long to use the bathroom. There was one problem though…
There are only two, king-sized beds. Which means that he needed to share with another person. He instantly looked at Ren, who looked right back at him. When both of them said "No homo" to each other, they instantly plopped into the bed and they both fell asleep the second their heads hit the pillows. Nora was jumping at her and Pyrrha's bed while she stared at the three people in amusement.
'This is going to be a very long four years…'
A hooded figure, who was wearing a black coat, walked towards a small building near downtown Vale. Once the hooded figure went inside, the hooded figure found out that the building was in fact a book store. Lots of filled book shelves dot the room, with a set of double doors behind a wooden counter.
"Just a minute!" A male voice was heard by the hooded figure as a man walked out of the set of double doors. The man carried a stack of books as he placed it on the counter. "Hello, stranger! Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade! How can I help you?" The man, apparently named Tukson, stared at the hooded figure with a hint of suspicion. The hooded figure took off the hood so that Tukson can see the hooded figure's face. Tukson's eyes widened as he saw the face of the hooded figure before he gave off a small laugh. "Haha, it's you! Good to see you again! Thanks again for helping me defect from the White Fang! If you have the time, maybe we could get a drink? My treat." The hooded figure wore the hood again and placed a hand on the counter.
"No time, Tukson. Do you have what I am looking for?" The hooded figure asked Tukson, who simply sighed as he ducked behind the counter to open a small safe.
"I swear you always do that to everyone… Ah! Here it is!" Once he opened the safe, Tukson pulled out a small flash drive and he quickly sealed the safe before he gave the flash drive to the hooded figure. "If you hadn't saved my ass back when I defected, I wouldn't have gotten this. You're welcome by the way." The hooded figure pocketed the flash drive and gave a mock salute to Tukson.
"Thank you Tukson." The hooded figure walked towards the exit as Tukson waved at the hooded figure.
"My offer is still open! Hope we can see each other more often!" The hooded figure gave a small smile.
'After years of searching… I can finally plot my revenge…'
And that is the end of this chapter, folks! I based Jaune's semblance on three things. The Sentinel Role from Final Fantasy XIII (Which can agitate enemies and coats the user with an aura that negates/lessens the damage taken by the user.), Juushiro Ukitake's Shikai release (Where the user can absorb incoming damage and uses the absorbed damage to attack other targets.) and Ichigo Kurosaki's signature attack, Getsuga Tenshou (The energy slash). I'll post a PM that I made that explains Jaune's semblance. Which is this:
I was planning for Jaune to have the combination of the Sentinel role in FFXIII (Where Jaune can encase his body with an aura using his... well.. aura...), the Frenzy spells like in Skyrim (Where enemies will only focus on him.) and the Zanpakuto powers of Ukitake and Ichigo from Bleach (Where Jaune can absorb incoming damage or energy and can use that energy by releasing an energy bolt (Which is Ukitake's shikai power) and an energy slash (Which is Ichigo's shikai power) I am also planning on giving more variety in the energy attack and that Jaune can use different elements when he has the right amount of dust or when he acquires rare stones that can give his attacks and aura elemental affinities.
And of course, there are weaknesses. Which are the following:
1. Depending on how fatal the attack is, it can use up a lot of aura. Even with the amount of Jaune's aura, it will still take up a lot of his aura.
2. Since he can provoke his enemies (something like a frenzy spell from Skyrim), every single enemy will only attack him, and it will be difficult to divert their attention unless the spell wears off, or the ones affected are knocked out or killed.
3. Since he just got his semblance, it will be difficult for him to get his semblance to work properly (Kinda like Ben 10 where the omnitrix can sometimes give Ben the wrong alien to use.) Usually, it is lack of concentration or Aura that will deactivate his semblance.
4. When he attacks (whether a normal one or with the use of his semblance) his aura will deactivate
5. Since it takes up most of his concentration, he can barely move without deactivating his aura.
... Basically, Jaune is a tank.
