Utsumi Kaoru felt groggy and her head spinning as she opened her eyes. Her body was tired, her muscles protested when she tried to move them. Utsumi did not push her limits, but stared aimlessly at the grey above her. She could barely hear fast whirrling and gears clicking, there is a spinning fan above me. She took a deep breathe, the scent of lavander disinfectant. Utsumi blinked again, she had a good guess of where she was. Afterall, how many times did she come here to interrogate injured criminals during her previous cases? Those Criminals tried to escape from hands of justice only to be caught at the end, they looked more battered than ever since their escape methods tend to be trecherous.

"The hospital…" Utsumi muttered out, only slightly surprised that she can't hear herself speak. Utsumi Kaoru sighed, it feels like a dream. She raised her right hand, fighting her weakened muscles, and managed to wave it gingerly across her face, Utesumi felt herself breathing into her fingers. I can't see my fingers or my hand. I've become blind… and deaf…

Utsumi let her hand fall back down beside her weakly; mentally defeated by her condition. Will I ever recover?

Utsumi let her question sink into the depths of her mind, I won't be able to remain as a police officer if my condition does not improve. Not only that, I have to find some way to survive on my own in my daily life…

"I'm alone…in this world…" she told herself as she pulled her blanket up to her shoulders and curled into her favourite position, Mother and father, how I wish that you are still here…

"Utsumi- Kun"

A forgotten voice and memory

And the familiar grip around my shoulders

Utsumi eyes flipped open again, a strange memory overwhelmed her. She must have imagined it, there was no way; he was there comforting her.

Then, how come just thinking about his voice… feels so warm?
