Chapter Four - KUnit

"Cub?" The incredulous voice asked, rising a few octaves in disbelief.

"Nice to see you too Wolf." The teen grumbled as he barged past the solider blocking the door.

"Your back?" Snake asked, looking up from polishing his boots as the pair entered. "Fox? Good to see you man!" Snake gave him a manly pat on the back as a greeting. Alex responded by dumping his stuff on the nearest of the two free beds.

"The extra bed didn't give it away that we were coming?" Fox asked as he took the other bed.

"We were told about it, but we didn't know you were Jaguar." Wolf said as he leaned against the wall.

"Awww Cubby has grown up!" Eagle gushed as he rushed out from the toilet in the cordoned off part of the hut.

"I wondered were you had disappeared too." Cub remarked smugly as he unpacked the spare uniform.

"You do look a bit different, any reason for that?" Wolf asked, as he returned to polishing his boots. The others were doing the same their must have been an inspection coming up.

"Might have something to do with the lovely group of kids that are due to arrive." He grumbled still annoyed at his current predicament.

"You have something to do with them?" Snake commented

"Maybe. It's classified." Alex replied, "Have you been briefed about my status?"

"An annoying brat?" Fox chuckled, sitting on Alex's bed.

"Hahaha hilarious!" Alex mocked as the others shook their heads. "I'm the official liaison between MI6 and the SAS. Back at camp for PT after a bad mission."

Eagle cocked an eyebrow "Unofficially?", they all had crowded around, eager to hear what he had to say.

Alex took a deep breath, they needed to know "I'm undercover here and in protection of the SAS, after a small threat was made."

The men all gathered round, nodding in understanding. "So you aren't really here for recovery, and therefore don't need a medical?" Snake questioned, his mother hen nature kicking in.

"I'm fine." Alex dismissed backing away from Snake on instinct. Snake rose his hands in defeat, "Okay well after the assault course, you are going to have an AFT, along with Fox. That includes a physical." He sung as he waltzed into the bathroom.

"I never knew you swung that way." Alex joked, calling after him.

"Right." Fox interrupted the pair, before it got out of hand. "Anyone up for cards, since we are due to the assault in about 40, and I think this is the last brake we are going to get in a while."

The mumbles of agreements followed as they all crowded around the small table in the middle of the room, the small down time that they got was usually spent relaxing as best as they could.

"Haha! You lose Fox!" Eagle cheered as he scooped up the match sticks as his winnings.

"I swear you cheat." He moaned as he threw his cards down.

"He does, it's just more fun if you beat him at his own game." A cheeky smirk graced Alex's face. They all turned to him wary of his statement, there eyes darting left and right wondering what he had up his sleeve.

"We need to go, the assault course in 5." Wolf growled as he grabbed his jacket heading out the door, quickly followed by the rest of them scrambling out the door.

The rain had already began, with little or no sign of stopping. It turned the semi-solid ground into a slippery brown mess. Trudging through it they eventually made it to the assault course, with seconds left.

"Right I hate this weather, so each of us over it and back in the quickest time possible." Wolf shouted over the thunderous sound of the rain lashing down. Clutching the stop watch with rain dropping off his beret, running down his face, he bellowed at each of them in turn.

Eagle made it over and back in 19.50, Snake did it in 19:05 with Fox doing it in 18:50. They switched over so Wolf could do the assault course, completely it in 18:30, the fastest out of them. Panting he approached the group. "Right Cu-Jag, it getting slippery but just try and do your best." Alex gave Wolf an exasperate sigh, gave him a condescending look, before speeding off across the course.

Wolf was right it was slippery, he though as he swung his way across some evil monkey bars. Swing over the rope swing he took a quick breath before swinging back and hurrying back to the start. Moving fast, he darted up the vertical wall, pulling himself up, the rain making it hard to grip, he eventually made it over the top. He then finished the curse by darted across the makeshift line, panting for breath.

"Well done Jag!" The surprised voice replied, jotting down the time he shoved the sheet into his pocket. The other unit came into view, jogging over to them. They apparent weren't given extra time, despite there being an extra member.

"Hound, Monkey, Bear, & Shark." Wolf greeted nodding to them in turn. He handed over the stopwatch.

"New member?" Hound questioned as the others began to warm up, the rain had finally begun to ease off.

"He is military intelligence. Dumped with us, for 'light training' after a mission gone wrong. He is the new liaison between '6 and us. But at least we got Fox back." Wolf explained, as Alex just glared at them he was told to play distant and Fox was happily greeted by the other members. They were like one big dysfunctional family.

"Oh! Feel sorry for you! Have you heard about the kiddies arriving on Friday? We have a briefing at 20:00, about them, but at least you will be of the rota with them." Hound moaned as he glanced at his watch, giving them a wave off.

"Thanks for the heads up." Snake called as they headed away towards the showers to try and get ride of the horrible gunky mud. "Thanks for covering for me." Alex popped up next to Wolf, seeming appearing out of nowhere.

"No problem squirt. Your one of us, like it or not. We have to put up with it, protect you and all." He stated as the grabbed the towels from the respective lockers, Alex's had Jaguar scrawled across in sharpie.

Shrugging just grabbed the towel and bar of soap, before slamming it shut and proceeding into the showers. He got a few feet before he came to a stop, he momentarily forgot the showers were open plan. The other began to strip, through there clothes into a pile. Alex froze not wanting to move, he was torn.

"Come on Cu-Jag we do have more to do today." Wolf shouted from the showers, Alex took a deep breath, he steadied himself, before copying the others. He couldn't hid it forever

He lathered up and stood under the nearest jet, the water was freezing cold, but he didn't care. He just wanted to get out of their quickly.

"What that on your back Jag?" He froze at Eagles voice, he knew what he had seen, but he just didn't want to acknowledge him.

"It's nothing." Alex mumbled as he turned to leave the showers, pleased how quickly he got in and out, unfortunately it wasn't quick enough."IS THAT A BULLET WOUND?"

Alex closed his eyes and swore.

So? What do people think? Sorry I thought this was a bit of a fluffy chapter, but I needed to get Alex into the camp and integrated in a chapter before the next, slightly more action packed one
