Chapter Seven - Jags Adventure

"You are so irritating." Snake snapped as he rushed to lace-up his boots.

"Like your so perfect snake." Fox countered as he roughly combed his hair, shoving his want to thank all the

"Wolf they are being mean to me!" Eagle complained they all rushed around the cabin, scrambling to get ready in time. Breakfast was ending in five minutes.

"I will be mean to you Eagle." Alex sneered. In the middle of the night Eagle had decided to trip over the alarm clock, unplugging it and forgot to tell them. Meaning they woke up late, it was only Alex that made sure they were on time.

"Next time make sure you plug it back in." Wolf growled angrily as he stood ready waiting for them to hurry up. Alex quickly followed suit, with Snake and Fox right behind them.

"Eagle we are leaving. I refuse to miss breakfast because of you." Wolf called as the rest of the unit walked out the door. Alex even waved, as the door swung shut.

"It wasn't my fault! I blame the sleeplessness due to last nights little exercise." He moaned jogging to catch up with them.

"We are all tired and none of us managed to make the same mistake you did." Fox complained as they headed into the canteen. Wolf practically ran for the coffee, as did Fox whereas Alex and the rest just grabbed a some tea. Before sliding along the hot food section to get some questionable looking eggs and toast that was somehow both burnt to a crisp and soggy at the same time.

"I was an innocent mistake." Eagle attempted to defend himself as they sat down resuming the argument. Alex to snorted in laugher into his tea.

"Care to share Jag." Shaking his head he began to focus back on his food.

"So you all ready for tomorrow?" Wolf asked, cocking his eyebrow.

Rolling his eyes Alex stood up to refill his tea, sighing in annoyance. They had all been training not stop for 3 days, shooting practise, killing house, assault course drills and many others things. No only were more questions raised after their combat training, but they learned the hard way that they weren't going to get any answers any time soon. They also had to help put up the temporary tents for the kids to sleep in.

It was hilarious watch gruff arm men grapple with poles, screws and bolts. Eagle was by far the funniest.

"Is everyone excited to train all these lovely kids!" Eagle asked, continuing on with Wolf's line of questioning.

Alex just glared between them, everyone could tell his mood had been getting worse and worse as the week went on.

"We have the killing house in 5." Wolf interrupted as he stomped out the canteen.

"He is never in a good mood first thing." Fox responded, following suit. The others also cleaned up their trays, before trudging out into the never ending rain.

They headed up to the killing house, bickering amongst themselves as they collected their assault rifles and put on the defensive gear. "Right so our objective is to retrieve the hostages with four suspected bogeys inside." He began before proceeding to go through the tactics.

"Attention!" The aide called, just as they were about to enter. The all imminently stood to attention, even if they were slightly irritated.

"Sarge would like to see Jaguar in his office imminently." He ordered, saluted and promptly left. They all turned to him with questioning looks on their face.

"I'm not a physic! Why and how would I know!" He said before putting his rifle back and stripping off the gear, and headed towards the office, irritated that he didn't get to shoot anything or any blow stuff up.

Knocking briefly, he entered and stood to attention. "At ease Jaguar." The Sargent ordered as he shuffled papers around on the desk.

"I received this from military intelligence." He handed over the slim file."They requested you on this imminently." Alex plastered a blank look on his face the anger behind attempting to seep through.

"You are expected to be back before the children arrive tomorrow at 0800. Your transport leaves in 15, pack and read the file. It's up to you to inform K-Unit." Alex took the dismissal, saluted and left with a scowl gracing his face.

He collapsed on his bunk and flicked through the file, apparently they needed help on an extraction from a compound in Kuwait. He looked at the clock it wasn't even 0700 and he was being shipped out to some country in the middle of nowhere. There was a hidden agenda somewhere.

He shoved some civilian clothes onto a bag along with some gadgets. Before changing himself, and re-reading his cover, memorising it. Luckily he didn't need to change his disguise, he checked his watch impatiently before grappling his bag and headed towards the helipad.

"Where are you going?" Fox asked as they came through the door.

"I'm needed for something. I will be back in the morning. It will be before the kids arrive." He replied pulling the bag into his back.

"Do you need any back up?" Fox asked hanging up his singed jacket. Shaking his head Alex continued walking ignoring the looks he received from the rest of K-Unit. "Beware of the kiddies, keep an eye on them. Just remember that they will hate you more than you hate them." Alex warned warily

He turned and jogged to the landing heli, leaving no room for arguments. Leaving four men standing doing fish impressions.

-LINE BREAK-

"Have you seen Jag yet?" Snake asked sitting down at breakfast, looking around anxiously. It was half seven, the children were due to arrive in half and hour, and he was the liaison officers in charge.

"Nope, although I did expect to hear something even if he wasn't back. But then again he did warn us about the kiddies." Eagle said sitting down, the lack of humour in his voice, made it clear that something was clearly up.

"He needs to be back. I am not in the mood to deal with them." Wolf stated joining them group.

"It military intelligence, they may sound smart. But sometimes there timekeeping sucks. I can almost guarantee it overrun." Fox commented sticking the overly crispy bacon into a roll.

"So any plans?" Wolf questioned, picking the brains of his unit, well attempting to anyway. They all looked deep in thought. "So much for having the brains in this operation." He muttered going back to the dry powered scrambled egg that tasted like it was made World War Two, but he ate in anyway.

"I'm heading back to cabin, you never know Jag might be there." He shrugged heading back.

"Wait up." Fox jumped up following him out. Clearing his stuff quickly as he scrambled to keep up with him. As soon as they cleared the canteen, Fox ambushed him. "Look Wolf we need to talk." His voice flat, void of emotion and concern.

"It's about Jag." Wolf replied, as if he could read Fox's mind, nodding for him to continue.

"Whenever he return for missions, even short ones, he is withdrawn, he never sleeps, he gets awful nightmares and just jumps at nothing. Wolf he isn't going to be the same kid who left us, not for a day or two at least."

"You know what that sounds like, right?" Wolf warned, he didn't want to say it. Someone's his ages shouldn't have it.

"I have tried to drag him to shrink, so have '6. It's not as if he will actually talk to the shrinks. I know he needs help, we all do after missions, he doesn't think he does. When he gets back just keep an eye, I will also be telling the other the same."

"Will he blow his cover?" Wolf asked pushing open the cabin door rather aggressively, causing it to bank against the wall.

"I don't know, I know it's not exactly ideal with the kids arriving..."

"Geez Fox when is it ideal! Look we will do our best, but he does need help!" Wolf yelling running his hand through his hair in frustration, and promptly repositioning his beret correctly.

"Calm down Wolf, after this I promise I will get him the help he needs. Just help me get him through this time, please." Fox begged him.

"Of course we are going to help him! But he has to turn up in the next 15 mins or else. Do you know were he put the paperwork filled in about the kids?" Wolf replied scrambling around the hut, it wasn't if it was messy, just there were lots of places to hide a file.

"Check the understudy of his cot. I'm going to inform the others." Fox replied rushing out the door. Triumphantly Wolf pulled the file out from under his bed, tapped exactly were Fox had said it would be. Flicking through the file, chuckling he obviously was a good spy if he hid things under his bed.

Jogging outside he tucked the file under his arm and joined the parade of men waiting and the front of camp.

"Is he still not here?" Wolf asked raising his eyebrow, looking around to see shaking heads.

"Wolf do you have the details about the kids?" Sargent asked taking the file from Wolf in response.

"Sir, do you have any news on Jaguar?" Fox asked eagerly

"His ride back was delayed back. He should be arriving back any minute." He replied, turning away.

"Aren't the school kids arriving any minute too?" Eagle asked softly.

"They are at the gate. ATTENTION." The Sargent ordered, before talking into the walkie-talkie, his order causing all of the men to imminently snap to the order.

The bus rumbled around the corner, it looked so old and battered it could fall apart any second. It screeched to a halt as the kids and teachers piled out the bus on top of each other in a garbling mass of chatter. Someone must had the bright idea of giving the kids coffee some point in the last hour, as they seemed hyper or just really annoying.

One of the teachers stepped forward to shake the Sergeants hand, but he received the world famous glare."Welcome to the camp. My name is Sargent Booth, I am in charged here. Don't talk to me, K-Unit." They all saluted in sync, as he turned and headed to the main office, almost stomping in annoyance.

"This is K-Unit, that is E-Unit and L-Unit." He introduced, allowing them to each announce themselves. Before he went through and did the same for the K-Unit. The moment of silence revealed the faint sound of helicopter blades in the distance.

He visibly gave a sigh of relief, Jaguar had finally turned up. "Let me make it clear, this isn't a daycare centre. You are here with trained soldiers. We will not tolerates whining little snot nose brats." He spat at them. "Your in our kingdom now."

He was cut off by the rappelling cord landing between the men and the kids. As a figure repealed down the cord.

Well well well...
