Chapter 22

Date: 7th July 2026, 18:30

Location: Sunshine Coliseum, California

"Let's go people!" Trucy shouted, dragging Emma and Apollo with her. Liam walked behind, trying to stifle his laughter. Emma just glared at him. Trucy continued to drag them until they reached the lobby of the building and Emma yanked her arm back. Trucy looked at her Aunt and while she was distracted, Apollo pulled his arm out of her hand and stepped back. "What's wrong Auntie Emma?" She asked innocently. Emma sighed and crossed her arms.

"Now we have about half an hour or so before the concert starts." She said glancing towards the doors that lead towards the concert hall. Officers were going in and out. "What the…?" She had a bemused look on her face. A couple of seconds later, Ema Skye walked into the lobby munching on Snackroos. She saw the four standing there and walked over.

"Hey guys." She said before throwing another Snackroo in her mouth. "What are you doing here?" Emma smiled weakly.

"Rocky, I mean Klavier, gave me passes for the concert a while back and I made the mistake of telling Trucy." Emma playfully glared at her niece, who stuck her tongue out in reply. "And she wanted to come." She shrugged her shoulders and crossed her arms. "Plus I told Rocky we would be here so…" Emma smiled a half smile and shrugged again before frowning slightly. "What about you?" Ema snorted before she replied.

"That glimmerous fop wanted lots of security and somehow I got roped into helping." She said before munching on another Snackroo. Emma placed her hands on top of one another and put them in the top of the middle of her chest. She then cocked her head to the side and put on a sympathetic look.

"I feel your pain." She said. They were all silence for a couple of moments before 4 out of the 5 started laughing. Apollo just stood there with an eyebrow raised at the others. Emma calmed down slightly and elbowed him in a friendly way. "Hey, lighten up! You're not at work." She glanced over what he was wearing. "Not that you look it…" Apollo huffed and looked to the side. Emma saw his eyes widen and he looked down. Emma looked to the side and saw Klavier walking up.

"Ach! Fräulein detective! I see you have found some friends, ja?" He asked, leaning forwards. Ema snorted and chucked a Snackroo at his head.

"Shut up Fop." She looked at the others. "I'll see you later." And with that she walked back towards the concert hall. Klavier just chuckled and shook his head before turning his head. He saw Emma, Liam and Trucy smiling at him and he smiled back but as soon as he saw Apollo his smile widened. He leaned towards him with a flirty smile.

"Ach Herr Forehead, I'm glad you could make it, ja?" Apollo flushed and rubbed his arm under his bracelet.

"Ja – I mean yeah." He muttered. Klavier grinned even more and lifted Apollo's head so they were looking eye-to-eye. After a couple of moments, Emma cleared her throat causing the two to step away from each other and look away awkwardly. Emma grinned and crossed her arms as she watched the young lawyers. Liam chuckled and wrapped his arms around her. Trucy stood next to her Aunt and copied her pose.

"What have I told you? Not in front of the children!" Emma said and pointed her head towards Trucy before relaxing into Liam's arms. Trucy giggled and turned to her Aunt.

"Auntie Emma, can I go into the concert hall?" She asked and glanced at Klavier. "If that's okay Mr Gavin?" Klavier nodded and smiled.

"Of course Fräulein." Trucy grinned and Emma spoke up again.

"Just in the concert hall for now, until we come in okay?" Trucy nodded and ran in the direction of the concert hall. Emma followed her with her eyes and turned back to the two young men when Trucy was out of sight. They were staring at her with questioning looks. "What?" Apollo just cleared his throat and eyed Liam's arms around Emma before looking back at her. Emma shrugged. "Meh, I'm 32, I don't care." She grinned before moving out of Liam's hold and moving towards the doors. "Well let's head in there shall we?" She asked. Klavier chuckled.

"Emma, must you go on?" He asked, eyebrow raised. Emma shrugged and crossed her arms, putting her weight on her right foot.

"I am a sibling. I take that role very seriously and will go on." She turned around and walked towards the door, speaking as she went. "I tease Nicki and Miles all the time so it's nice to have another couple to do the same." And with that she went into the concert hall. The three men just stared after her. After a couple of moments Liam just chuckled and shook his head before turning toward the two young lawyers.

"Let's go in and see what the girls are up to shall we?" And with that Liam headed through the doors, leaving Klavier and Apollo in lobby alone. Klavier turned to Apollo and nodded his head towards the door.

"After you Herr Forehead." Apollo flushed once more and nodded. They both headed towards the door, walking very closely together. When they got through the doors, they saw Emma and Liam holding hands as they watched Trucy look around. Klavier and Apollo looked at each other and smirked as they thought of how to get back at Emma for the teasing.
