Jade POV Stage Fighting
It frightens you just how easily you give in. Just a couple words from Cat and she makes it an easy choice. Like you have to do this, that there is no other way this could have gone. It's hard not to think that life has it out for you, or your luck just sucks because they paired you with Tori, and Cat with Beck. And you're scared shitless because you know exactly what she wants. She wants you to beat your partner half to death in front of the entire class. The worst part is; it's not hard to imagine.
You can picture the scene, Robbie's cringing in the furthest corner of the room, Andre looks terrified and frozen unsure what to do. Tori's lying unconscious on the stage in a pool of her own blood because you broke her nose with your fist. There's blood on your left hand because on the second hit you knocked her out. But you're not done yet because you can see yourself kicking her, possibly breaking one or two of her fingers with a sharp crack as you stomp down an her exposed hand. Beck's just got over his shock and is now holding you back as you struggle to get closer to the prone girl. Andre snaps out of it and is in your way but he'd be easy enough to render completely unable to help. And Cat, Cat's above it all in the catwalk grinning at the bloody sight.
And what scares you the most is the realization that two or three years ago you know without a doubt in your mind that you would have done so without hesitation, just to please her. So you wouldn't be alone. It's like some greater sadistic power is telling you all your efforts in trying not to be that girl anymore is just some kind of futile effort.
At least she doesn't tell you how to go about it; her only real order is to make Tori suffer.
You know if you don't do it, Beck will get "gravely hurt", her words not yours, and somehow Cat will make it look like an accident. It's happened before. But you have to make Tori put up with some kind of discomfort, that would still qualify.
Which brings you to now, because you've spent every spare moment this past week you can tearing your brain apart for ideas, that there's got to be some other kind of suffering you can inflict that doesn't leave her bleeding out on the floor.
That's when it hits you.
And the greater power of the universe can suck your non-existent dick because you've got a plan, and at the very least, Beck and Tori won't get seriously hurt.
Question/Answer Time!
Q: How much of Cat's true sadistic nature is she (Jade) aware of?
A: Not enough, less than Jade thinks she is (at least for the moment, unknown as of yet how much she does).
Q: Is she only afraid Cat will abuse others or possibly mortally harm them?
A: That's part of it, it's part of the overall power play Cat holds over her. She also made Jade relatively dependent on her when they were younger just for shits and giggles. I'll try to get into some flashbacks or background at some point to emphasize the idea… hopefully.
