Finally, I got back around to this story. It's been a few months, and for a while, I kind of lost the inspiration.

This chapter will be somewhat short, but I want to get things back into motion, so for now, enjoy this and keep on leaving reviews, follows, and favorites. I could really use the support.

"Shit, it still stings."

After getting home from their first successful job as a team. Kiria offered to prepare dinner while Kurai said he would take a shower. Andromalius thrashed him around several buildings and he was grimy and riddled with dry blood and scrapes. The whole walk home, Kiria hugged his arm for all ten blocks. Her face would blush red and she hid it by resting on his shoulder.

They got home at about eleven-ish. The sound of inhuman snoring meant Kimi was sound asleep.

"I'll make us something to eat. You should go and take your bath."

After releasing his arm from her soft chest and walking into the kitchen humming to herself, Kurai walked into the safety of the hallway away from her sights. He slumped against the wall trying to support himself on the wall, clutching his sides.

Kurai walked into the bathroom, locked the door, and stripped himself before wrapping a towel on his waist. He sat on the plastic seat and looked down at the thick set of gauzes and bandages trying to hold in the bleeding. He didn't know how he recieved this kind of wound. When he was thrown across the buildings, he most likely got slashed by sharp metal or glass. The bleeding wasn terrible, didn't soak through his jacket. He didn't want Kiria or god forsake Kimi to find out, knowing they would worry and blame themselves. During the walk, Kurai and Kiria passed by a restaurant. After making up a lie saying he needed to pee, he grabbed the emergency medical kit located in the bathroom and applied first aid on himself with the knowledge he picked up at the academie's summer courses.

Kurai turned on the shower, starting with the cold water to not only numb the pain, but to cool himself from the Nevada heat.

The freezing water penetrated the scratches and bruises, easing the pain. "Calm yourself, deep breaths." He tried to lift his hands to wash his hair, only for the soreness and fatigue to take effect. "Are you kidding, can't even lift my hands."

"Leave it to me then."

"Oh thanks..."

Hearing a soft voice, and the feeling of soft, slender fingers running through his hair, Kurai came back to his senses and turned around, seeing a young, blue eyed female wraped in a towel smiling.

Kurai's mouth was agape while his cheeks were red as hell. He looked down and was amazed at her curved shape and slender thighs as she sat on her knees. "K-Kiria-chan?" Kurai suddenly and covertly hid his wound with his arm. "What the hell are you doing? I thought you were making dinner?"

"It's in the oven. It won't be ready for another hour. Its baked chicken with rice and broccoli, your favorite."

"How did you-"

"I asked Kimi-san. I couldn't make it the same as how your mother, but I hope you like it."

"I see...wait a sec! Don't change the subject! How'd you even get in? I locked the door."

Kiria giggled and held up a small nail file. "The locks are pretty flimsy. Let me wash you."

"Where the hell did that come from!?"

"Sorry, but I wanted us to bond a little more. I was told that skinship between a meister and his partner is the best way." Kiria wiggled her body and blushed looking down. "Is it too much?"

"Damn right it's too much!" Kurai stuttered while keeping his teeth gritted. He couldn't produce any words. All he could hear was the commands in his mind. His hand reached for the shower handle and set it as low cold as possible.

'Down boy, Down!'

"There's another reason why I want to wash you. Because I want you to get used to a woman's body. I think we could work better as partners if that was the case." She turned and got on her hands and knees. Her bare bottom, which the towel around her did a decent job of covering was being wiggled in his face and was inched closer and closer to his chest. "Feel free to touch me as much as you want."

"How are you comfortable with this?"

"Because you're my partner. I want us to be in sync in more than just matching Soul Wavelength. Eating, sleeping, and even bathing together..." She suddely looked down with an extremely red face. This was the first time Kurai has ever seen her actually embarrassed. "The truth is, I'm actually really embarrassed. But if it means us being better partners, then I don't mind at...all." Kiria suddenly looked down at his chest in an almost trance like state.

"What?"

Before he had time to react, she lifted the arm covering his injury and looked from him to the gash on his side. "How'd you get that injury?"

"It's not that bad. I just got scratched when we fought Andromalius."

Kiria gave hi an irritated look and puffed her cheeks. "A scratch? Are you kidding? No, are you stupid? This kind of injury could be infected. You're lucky none of your organs were ripped or else it could've been really bad."

Kurai scratched his chin with a slight grin. "Sorry. I just didn't want you to worry."

That softened her up enough to calm her down and sigh. "Listen Kurai-san. I take the idea of partnership seriously, and you should too. I am your weapon which means I protect you. Next time let me know these things, because I hate to lose those that I care about. Now then allow me to wash you."

Kiria didn't give him time to reply and rubbed a soap lathered towel on his back.

It was then that Kurai realized just how committed Kiria was to being a partner and friend. She trusted him with her life, and he should with her. That was why they were able to match wavelengths and perform a Soul Resonance in such a short time. It was as if there was a red thread that was wrapped around their wrists and connected to the other.

"Thank you, Kiria-chan." He said turning to her. "Lets both work hard to rise in ranks."

"Right..." Kiria looked down for a second and quivered her lips before asking him something else. "Um, Kurai-san...about Kimi-san...Is it true that she's a dark weapon?"

"You already know the answer to that question." He replied.

"I know, but I find it hard to believe someone sweet like her could be something infamous in nature." Kiria replied. "Demon Swords have been known to cause chaos wherever they go. You said you wanted to make Kimi-san your weapon, are you going to make her a Demon Sword?"

"It's really all up to her. That day during orientation was the first time I've ever seen her weapon form. Kimi-nee was almost killed that day because of what she was, even though she didn't want to be that in the beginning. Still...I have full faith that Kimi-nee isn't like that at all. I want her to know that she doesn't have to be what her sister wants her to be. That's the reason I want to be her meister. Because I want to make her different than what she was made to be." Kurai turned to her and palmed a few strands of her snow white hair. "I think you would be a good influence on her. Your white hair and her black hair."

"Yin and Yang." Kiria said.

"Exactly."

"Hey, hold on! Kurai-kun!"

"Calm down."

Kurai dragged Kimi by the hand to the academy with no effort. Despite the fact she was flailing and struggling to get out of his grip, whining like a little kid.

"I told you, I'm not feeling well to go training." Kimi said.

"And I've told you how I'm allergic to bullshit." Kurai faked a sneeze. "See?"

"You little asshole."

"It'll be fine, Kimi-san." Kiria, who was a few feet ahead of them turned to her with a smile.

"Shinigami-sama told me to keep an eye on you. Not to mention I promised to make you a better weapon." Kurai said.

"No, I refuse, I'm your older sister, so do what I sa-" She was suddenly yanked forward and jabbed at the neck. Kurai used a technique his mother taught him, where he could temporarily paralyze someone with his soul wavelength. "Bastard."

Kurai hefted her on her shoulder with minimal effort and kept on forward. "Good grief."

"Hey! Kurai-tan! Kiria-tan!"

"Huh?"

All three looked up to see a young girl running towards them waving. Her long blonde hair was waved through the breeze. She wore a green one piece sun dress with lace trimmings

Walking a few yards behind her was a young man with a mysterious aura, complete opposite to the girl. He was dark skinned, with a white scarf wrapped his mouth. He wore a long sleeved white robe like outfit like those of Egyptians, which didn't seem to bother him from the heat.

"Oh, Fledermaus-san, Naga-kun." Kurai said familiarly towards them.

"Good to see you both." Kiria bowed to them.

The golden girl stopped after running a few feet past him. "How many times must I tell you two? Using -san makes me feel old. Use -chan or -tan, and Kurai-tan you can call me by my first name."

""Sorry.""

"Who's she?" Kimi asked. The yong girl had long blonde hair that reached her waist with a little bat hair clip, a childish smile, and a petite body that didn't go with her rather large chest. What got Kimi's attention was her milky white eyes. It took Kimi a second to realize she met this girl before. The other day during orientation. "You're..."

"Good to see you, Saya-tan."

"Two death cheese scythe burgers, two reaper chili dogs, one vegan death burger, five large fries, five orders of onion rings, three large cokes, one large sprite, and a large diet coke."

"Here you go, sir, and have a good day."

The cashier gave him the tray of food while Lisa handled the drinks, and they brought it back to their table.

"There we go," Kurai had set the food down and sat between Kimi and Kiria while they're guests sat across them. As everyone grabbed their individual items, Kimi sat their glaring at the blonde haired girl as she gulped down the entirety of her drink.

"Kimi-nee, please don't stare, it's rude." Kurai sighed before unwrapping his burger.

"Yeah, the food hear is amazing, Saya-tan."

Everytime she heard that God forsaken name, Kimi always found the worse side of herself due to the trauma she suffered.

"Why you!" Kimi instinctively reached for her drink and threw the contents towards her face. The blonde girl picked up her cup and the drink found itself into her cup. Not a single drop landed anywhere but inside the cup. She placed the lid and straw back and proceeded to drink from it before gagging. "Blegh, diet?"

"Kurai-kun, just who exactly is she?" Kimi asked trying to keep herself from strangling her.

"Lisa Fledermaus. She's a meister."

The girl introduced as Lisa pointed a hand at the boy who was examining his burger, occasionally sniffing it like a dog. "This is my partner, Naga William-tan. He's from Egypt, so studying abroad has made him quite shy. He doesn't talk much, but with me it doesn't matter whether or not he talks." Lisa explained.

"..." What Kimi found weird was that he still kept the scarf over his mouth, making her wonder how exactly would he eat it if he didn't plan to take it off.

"I don't really know why he wears that scarf myself." Lisa suddenly said.

"There you go again! You did that same trick during the orientation, you blind freak."

"Kimi-san, calm down, we're in public." Kiria said.

"But Fledermaus-san, can you stop calling Kimi-nee by that name?" Kurai asked her nicely.

Lisa sighed and placed a finger on Kurai's nose after leaning over the table. "Only if you stop naming me formally. We're friends so we should address each other as such."

"Sure, but you're getting condiments on your shirt."

Kimi sighed before sitting back down. "So how do you guys know each other?"

"We ran into them a little while after orientation."

"These two treated us for lunch here so Death Grill is one of our favorite hang out spots." Lisa said. "And that's when they proposed."

"Flederm...Lisa-chan agreed to join our group. We're trying to form a party for when the school year begins. Since shinigami-sama is only giving us small jobs, we figured it be best to form a team for when we enter the big time." Kiria told her. "Not only is she fun to be around, but her abilities are just what we need."

"It makes sense, I thought that was the case." Kimi turned to Lisa with a somewhat surprised. "Female, superhuman abilities almost like magic. You're a-"

"Witch? Correct!" Lisa finished for her. "Took you long enough, Kimi-tan."

"Lisa is a Bat witch. Just cause she's blind as one, doesn't mean she's not capable." Kurai praised. "Her hearing is so powerful, she can hear the thoughts of those around her. Her surroundings, the people around her. She's dangerous as an enemy, but wonderful as an ally."

Lisa, whose cheeks were red as tomatoes, cupped her cheeks shaking her head. "If you keep praising me like that, I just might fall in love with you, Kurai-tan."

"Calm below, Lisa." Naga suddenly said in a melachonic voice.

"You mean calm down, Naga-kun." Kiria corrected his incorrect grammar.

"So you want to form a team with just five people?" Kimi asked.

"Well, really, we want to form a three meister team, so we need another duo or trio in the event of a two weapon meister."

"But so far, we haven't had much luck." Lisa said.

"It's only the summer program. We might not be able to find anyone with exceptional talent until school starts." Lisa explained.

"So she's a Dark Weapon?"

Inside the death room, a young man and woman stood before Lord Death as the latter presented a picture of a certain raven haired woman.

The young man, the meister of the two, had long spiky black hair with black bangs that hung over his eyes, completely obscuring them from view, giving him a sort of slacker demeanor to him. "She's hot." He casually said to his partner.

"This isn't the time for that crap!"

The young man's comment was shot down by his partner. The partner, a young girl with light blue hair wore a small tight-fitting jacket and a short black skirt. She turned to Lord Death. "So what exactly is it do you want us to do?"

"I have a hard time trusting a Dark Weapon due to the history I had with them. You two are the most capable for this job. Her powers have yet to reveal themselves, however, after what happened to Ayami-san, it's safe to assume her inner madness could be a threat to both her meister and those around her." Death explained. "That's why you two are tasked with the roles of her observers, and if the situation calls, her assassins."

"So we kill her should she go rogue?" The young man said.

"Yes, but that won't be easy at all." He then showed a picture of Kurai. "Her brother is currently serving as her meister with another weapon. Kurai-kun and his other partner, is just as capable as you two are, Zeke-kun, Mizuno-san. Killing her will be tricky if you don't think things true. If you succeed-"

"Yeah yeah," The one named Zeke nodded and walked out of the Death room before he could finish.

"Good grief," Death said to him

"Hold on, Zeke!"

Mizuno ran after and eventually caught up to him, taking a second to catch her breath. "Are you really going to go through with this?"

"Do you doubt my abilities?" Zeke asked turning to her.

"What I mean is, do you plan to use your eyes? You know what happens." She nagged him.

"You heard what he said, her powers have yet to reveal themselves. I could tell even without my eyes that she won't fight back. I could see it in her eyes. She had sight but no vision."

"Like a slow witted cow." She replied with a smirk. "It dimly chews the grass before it. Because of that, it's in no way a match for the wolf with the cow killing vision."

"As the saying goes, the cow has eyes for hay, the wolf has eyes for prey. One of thems the killer, the other the buffet. In this case, she's the prey, and I'm the killer.

"So what does that make her meister then? Shinigami-sama said you two were on equal levels."

"Utter nonsense." Zeke turned towards her and held out his right hand with his gingers flexed as if he was gripping someone. It was then that he squeezed his hand, as if he was mimicking the action of crushing a person's skull. He then opened his right, dark blue eye. "A passive wolf who needs to be shown just what true killing vision looks like."

So not much action, doesn't matter, baby steps until I can get back into the full swing.

Alright, so like I said, because I'm off, I'll have a lot more time to update. So until next time.
