Notes: I thought I'd write a holiday special for my Heroes season 5, enjoy! don't own anything, not characters, actors, pop culture references etc. Also italics are thoughts. I've also decided to make this two parts since it covers several weeks before the holidays begin, and I don't want to spend so much time without updating.
Heroes Season Five Episode Eleven
Matt: Previously on Heroes...
(Publicity)
Matt(grabbing him hard by his shirt collar): ''Look here McCormick, if I wanted to, I could make you turn yourself in. However, I think you're man enough to do it yourself and trust me, we're the type of guys you don't want to mess with.''
A young African American man named Ray Carter (played by Lee Thompson Young) gets out of the police car too.
Ray: ''Yeah man, you don't.''
Vincent: ''All right fine. I'm turning myself in.''
(Cut to Use of Power)
Claire: Lyle, please come back to us.
Lyle: I can't, Claire. I'm not the Lyle you once knew. I never will be again. Goodbye Claire. (He, Lane, and Kat teleport away)
(Claire begins to cry loudly, tears running down her face as Peter and Gretchen come up to hug her)
Noah(tears begin to flow from his eyes): We've lost him.
Claire(turns to look at him, sadness replaced with anger): No, we haven't. We're going to get him back.
(They all look on and watch the sunset, and leave knowing now what they have to do.)
(Cut to Roots)
(Cut to a dark street corner in Brooklyn, Adrien is clearly out of breath, holding on to a lamppost)
A soft voice: Feeling alone?
Adrian: Who's asking?
(Lyle appears along with Lionel, Kat, Caitlin, and Lane)
Lyle: I am.
Adrian: If you think I'm sick enough to join you, think again!
Kat: What makes you think we're the evil ones? We're only trying to protect the world from people like Sylar. (She comes up to him and touches his cheek, he blushes and she pulls away with a smile.)
Lionel: I know your past, Adrian. I know what you did to that boy, but I can make you a hero. The whole world will know who you are, and we can help you stop Sylar. In fact, we can help you get rid of him for good.
Adrian(pauses for a moment before saying with a smile): I'm listening.
(Cut to black. Credits roll.)
Chapter Eleven: Holiday Part One
(December 8th 2010, NYPD Locker Room, Matt and Ray are talking as they put away their police uniforms and items. Ray is putting on his gray coat and black gloves, while Matt is putting on his black coat and mittens)
Ray: So are you looking forward to celebrating Hannukkah?
Matt: You bet I am. So glad I have the entire week off, too. It'll be nice to spend some nice quiet time with Janice and Matt Jr. Hopefully, Lionel and his minions won't show up, but I'm prepared if they do.
Ray: You have to be prepared. You never know when they're going to come. You never see villains give the good guys the holidays off. (He puts on his gloves).
(They go out to say goodbye to the NYPD chief of police Edgar Owen(Ian McShane), but before they can say goodbye, he interjects)
Owen: Could I speak with you gentlemen, before you leave please?(A stern and almost angry look appears on his face)
Matt:Sure, is something wrong? (I hope we haven't done anything, I really shouldn't read his mind, but what if something serious has happened? He looks pretty pissed. I'll wait, for now at least. (He takes a breath as he and Ray glance nervously at each other before turning their attention to Owen)
Owen: These past several months you've worked here have been great. You're both great additions to the police department, but certain rumors have been going around about you two that could slightly taint our reputation. (His voice is slightly hesitant)
Matt: Oh, hell with it, I'm going in.
Owen: How could you two expect me not to find out? Your so-called superhero antics are making me look like an idiot, powerless. Bunch of X-men wannabes, what is this? A damn comic book!
Matt: That's enough! You have no right to insult us! We're not trying to be comic book heroes!
Ray:Matt, he seriously thought that about us? If you want to fire us, I'll be damned before I let you get away with it!
Owen: Excuse me, but I never insulted both of you. I don't know how you could have-(he pauses before speaking again) Wait, there's no way you could've read my mind, is there?
Matt: Well, you're about to fire us anyway, so what do you care?
Owen: You two need to leave now! You've made this much harder than it needed to be! Bunch of freaks!
Ray: You need to shut up.(he says with a low growl as he gathers the bright red energy within his hand)
Matt: Ray, don't! You can't attack him, this'll make our situation worse! You're not just putting our jobs on the line!
Ray: He can't get away with what he's about to do!
Owen: Don't you dare! I can have you two locked away in prison, if I want! I won't hesitate!
Ray: Neither will I! (He begins to shoot the red laser from his hand and Matt grabs his arm as RAy gasps, but the beam fires away and Owen ducks near his desk as it hits a wall with badges and pictures of the department staff, and crashes on his desk, he glares at them with eyes full of rage)
Owen: Alright, no more niceties on my part. There's no sugar-coating this anymore. If you had any doubts about being fired, don't have any because this is it! The both of you are fired so get out of my sight!
Matt: No problem, come on Ray, let's get out of here.(They storm out as Owen glares at them angrily. After they leave, Owen speaks again)
Owen: This isn't the end of this, Parkman and Carter. I'll find a way to make the two of you pay for the disgrace you've brought to this department and more importantly me. If it means getting you locked behind bars, then so be it.
(One week later, in Mohinder's apartment)
(Mohinder and Mira are decorating the Christmas tree along with Raj and Parvati, Mohinder looks tense as he places a shiny red ball on the tree. Mira takes notice and gently touches his back with her left hand, his tension decreases.)
Mohinder(speaking in Hindi): Thank you, Mira.
Mira(responds back in Hindi): You're welcome, my love.
Raj: What the bloody hell is up with you, Mohinder? This is the holiday season, you could lighten up a bit you know.
Mohinder: I have good reason to be upset. (he responds coldly)
Parvati: Raj, it's best we don't talk about this.
Raj: No it is, because I'm sick of this elephant in the room. You haven't talked to Matt and Ray in a week. Some people get pissed off and want to use their powers to express justified anger. I wanted to get revenge after Lionel and his henchmen killed my girlfriend Priya six months ago, so I know what it's like.
Mohinder: So you're on their side, then? They endangered themselves and us by using their powers for anger and revenge, especially Ray! Now, the non-evolved humans have more reason to believe we're all evil and want us to be destroyed!
A familiar male voice: So the truth finally comes out about why you've been avoiding them.
(Mohinder turns around to see that the speaker was Gabriel, accompanied by Mirei, Noah, Claire, Peter, Matt, Ray, and Janice.)
Matt: You know, Mohinder. We could've settled this like full grown adults, but no. You had to avoid talking to Ray and I. Real way to get in the holiday spirit, isn't it? You don't talk to your recently unemployed and probably jailbound friends, because we crossed a line.
Mohinder: I feel compassion for the both of you. However, it is your fault that you lost your jobs, and put yourselves and all of us in danger as a result.
Ray: He was going to fire us no matter what we did, all right! I know we went out of line, and that he's trying to put us in prison, but don't act like you never went out of line either. There aren't that many people here with a completely clean record, including you.
Janice: Matt, Ray, I'm sure we can all discuss this calmly and rationally. Please, you're all friends.
Matt(he turns to her): Janice, if Mohinder was really our friend, then he wouldn't avoid talking to us and be a hypocrite about morality!(he turns to Gabriel) Interestingly enough, he hasn't avoided you and neither have the rest of us!
Claire: Believe me, I wish I could.
Gabriel(he and everyone else shifts uncomfortably at her words): We have to forgive each other. Ray's right, few people here have a clean-(he's interrupted by a knock on the door)
Peter: I'll go get it. (he goes to the door)
(He opens the door to find a policeman(played by Benjamin Bratt) and a policewoman(played by Eliza Dushku)
The policeman: Hello, I'm officer Rodriguez and this is my partner officer Halili.
Peter: My name's Peter Petrelli, what can I do for you both?
Officer Halili: Is this Mohinder Suresh's apartment, and are you and him friends of former officers Matt Parkman and Ray Carter?
(Matt and Ray listen from behind and freeze in fear)
