As the two walked around the park Piper would point out certain animals or plants that she recognized and explained about them. Declan would reply and tell her about what he knew and would listen with interest. Declan found Piper to be truly smart as did Piper also think of Declan the same way. They chatted on and on as they walked and enjoyed the scenery of the park and the creatures around them and the plants.

They were both finely happy to have a date with no duplos interfering and were taking in each moment as they enjoyed themselves. As they walked on for a while it became silent as they just looked around for a bit. Declan became nervous at this not wanting the date to end in such a way. He looked around and tried to think of anything he could do to help keep things going.

Declan suddenly smiled when he saw a vendor selling flowers. 'Flowers are romantic maybe she likes them, but which ones?' As they came to the vendor he stopped and said "Hey wait I want to get something." Piper was shocked that, they stopped at a vendor with flowers, was Declan trying to buy her some? She looked down bashfully at the romantic gesture but waited to see what would happen.

Declan looked at the flowers in a hurry. What to get what to get? He didn't know what Piper's favorite flower was but he didn't want to just ask. He thought it would seem a bit unromantic. Then he spotted something. It was a beautiful flower, it had several layers growing around it and it just burst with beauty and personality. 'Just like Piper.'

At that thought he smiled and then he looked at the color, it was white with tips of purple around it. It was so unique and he felt that it was just perfect. He smiled as he asked "Excuse me sir how much for that flower." He pointed to the one he wanted and the man said "Oh the dahlias. A fine choice sir. It is freshly cut and the color is quite breathtaking it will be seven dollars."

Piper gasped, while she thought the flowers was so beautiful she said "No Declan it's too expensive for one flower." Declan smiled as he brought out his wallet and said "Here you go." The man smiled and gave him the flower and Declan then said "I think it was worth it. Cause I think you're worth it." Declan blushed as he realized what he had just said and Piper had gasped as her eyes widened.

They were not sure of what to do, both unused to such things. What was the next step, what did they say next? It seemed though that they didn't have to say anything. As suddenly Piper's phone rang and she picked up saying "Hello, yes uh hu. Yeah we're fine." Declan looked confused as she replied with "My mom's just checking up on us."

Declan nodded at that understanding, as this was happening though the vendor saw how flustered the two had bean and he told the cop "Hey boy, if you like her so much take her out somewhere classy like a restaurant. Maybe some music? That will really impress her." Declan jumped at that but thought 'Of course a restaurant. Why didn't a think of that?' He smiled at the man and said "Thank you sir."

Declan turned to Piper when she was finished talking on the phone and said "Piper do you want to go to a restaurant tomorrow night?" Piper smiled as she replied with "I'd like that. Sure. Where should we go eat?" "I know this great restaurant with delicious Irish food." Piper was a bit unsure but said "Sure why not it will be an experience. Do they serve lamb?" "Oh yeah some of the best, not as good as my ma's cooking but still."

Piper laughed at that but said "Sounds like fun. I'll see you tomorrow night then." "Will seven be okay?" "It will be just right." Suddenly her brother said "Hey Piper we have to get going it's going to be dark soon." The two looked up at the sky and noticed that it would be dark soon. They looked at each other sadly but suddenly Piper hugged him, making Declan blush once more but he hugged back and said "I had a great day Piper." "I had a great day too Declan. Hope we can have another."

Declan smiled at that and escorted them back to the front. Her parents were waiting for her there and they explained their plans for tomorrow. They said their goodbyes and headed off. Once they drove off and he saw them leave Declan whooped as he clicked his heals and then walked off happily back to Bennet's place a skip in his step all the way there.

The next day after work Declan had decided to go to his own house to spend some time with his family till it was time for his date. He freshened up, used some cologne, and then sat down to relax a bit. Wanting to talk with his brother. When Declan sat down though Aiden raised a brow at his outfit and said "What's with the get up?" "I have a date with Piper tonight remember." "You barely know the girl and you're dressing up like a waiter."

Suddenly Ma Cop's voice came through as she said "He's dress up like a handsome gentlemen going to a nice restaurant. Is Brea isn't easy to get into you know. Now if only you would let me do your hair." "Ma my hairs fine." Ma Cop sighed but just left to go make the rest of her family some dinner.

Aiden chuckled at his brother's look of frustration. He stretched his leg slightly, feeling it a bit better now. Aiden's leg was doing much better now but the doctor said it would be a week before he was allowed to go back to work. The elder twin had grumbled at this but with his parents around to keep him out of trouble he had no choice.

Suddenly a knock came at the door. Pa Cop opened it and was surprised to see a young lady in a police uniform. The woman looked at the older officer and said "Hello sir my name is Rose. I work with your sons." Pa Cop smiled as he said "Oh yes I've heard nothing but good things about you. Hear you keep my boys in line." Rose chuckled at that as she said "I try."

The two male cops at the couch hear as Aiden spoke up with "Rose what are you doing here?" She brought up some papers and said "I thought you get a bit stir crazy so I brought you some case files to look over. Maybe get some help on some of my own cases while I'm at it." Aiden nodded showing no emotion in his face as the woman walked over.

Now as she came in Pa Cop thought 'Hmm I wonder if maybe my eldest won't be that far off in dating. He's got a nice girl right here and if he's anything like I was, and I know he is, he'd like a woman who's also a cop.' Suddenly Margaret came in and he smiled as he thought 'I sure did and I loved every moment of it.' Margaret saw what was going on and smiled but just went into the kitchen to give the three space, Glendon go the point and fallowed her.

As Rose came up she said "It's good to see you doing okay. Oh and Declan you're looking sharp. Have a hot date?" Declan blushed bright red as he nodded and said "With Piper." Rose laughed at that as she said "Should have known." Aiden rolled his eyes at that but Rose slightly walked his arm as she said "Hey can't you be happy for your brother?" "I'm not saying I'm not happy I'm just not all that into the whole mushy stuff. I mean I've hardly ever seen him wear a white shirt and black slacks before."

It was true Declan was in a white long sleeved button up dress shirt and black slacks. His shoes were also black and to top it all off he had a black tie on with a small silver shield decoration on it, something Lucy made him get when she was visiting last night at Emmet's. Rose rolled her eyes and said "You have no sense of romance do you." "No and I don't intend to get one."

Rose only laughed at that and said "Whatever Aiden. Will you look good Declan. Have a good time okay." Declan smiled at his coworker and said "Thanks Rose and have fun trying to survive my brother here." "Hey!" Yelled Aiden but Declan flew off the couch before his brother could catch him and ran out the door. Rose laughing at their immature antics.

In the kitchen though Margaret said to Glendon "You think they'll figure it out?" Glendon replied with "In time dear in time just give them space." Margaret just smiled and nodded as she just kept on cooking, her husband helping with what he could while they heard the two cops in the background discuss cases while poking slight fun at each other once in a while. Aiden and Rose not noticing the slightly calmer tone in his ruff voice that he only reserved for certain people.

Just so you all know "Is Brea" mean love in Irish. I looked it up and thought it be a nice restaurant name for the story.
