I do not own Ghost hunt ^.^

Oliver sat in his chair listening to Mai's breathing. It seems like he did this a lot lately. He would have to talk to her when she got up and set some serious guidelines. She was to follow the rules or he would not be bringing her onto any more cases. He couldn't stand to lose her again, and with how careless she is, it's bound to happen.

"Mai still isn't awake."

Oliver rolled his eyes, this girl known as Kimi was proving to be a thorn in his side, "I am aware of that."

"Why haven't you done anything then?"

" said she was not injured, and I trust her. If all you are going to do is talk, please do so outside of this room."

"Naru, can't you ever be nice?"

Oliver turned around to see Mai attempting to sit up, and Kimi rushing to her side, "Mai."

"Oh Mai I'm so glad you're okay I was so scared and your boss wouldn't do anything and Mai I was so worried why did you run away oh Mai don't ever scare me like that I swear…"

"Mai what on earth were you thinking?"

Kimi looked at Oliver, "I was talking you know."

"And..?"

Kimi huffed out her breath then turned back to Mai, "What happened?"

Mai went to open her mouth but Oliver shook his head, "I need to speak with Mai alone."

Before Kimi was able to say anything the door opened and Yasu walked in with a big file, "Hey Boss, I've got some info you might want to see."

Oliver Looked at Yasu and considered putting off talking to Mai, but decided against it, "Yasu, if you would, take Mai's friend and gather the others. Mai and I will meet you all in the lounge area in ten minutes."

One look at Naru's face stopped Yasu from joking, he instead grabbed Kimi's arms and gently pulled her from the room. Oliver turned around and got mere inches from Mai before he stopped and stared straight into her eyes.

"Mai, I do not understand why you continue to run off and put yourself in danger. It seems that no matter how much the team and I stress it you continue to be reckless. I will have no more of this."

"But Naru.."

"Furthermore," Oliver continued, "If and when you have a dream or feeling that leads in any direction of the case you will tell myself or Lin. Continue to keep information from us or be a nuisance to everyone here trying to keep you safe and I will end your job as a member of my team and you will sit in the office when we go on cases acting as a filing secretary do I make myself clear?"

Mai looked at the ground, her shoulders shaking. Oliver knew that he had been a little rough, but there was no other way to get the girl to listen. They sat in silence for a few more moments before Oliver stood straight and walked back other to the monitors.

"Do I take your silence as defiance? Should I have Lin take you home now?"

"Naru no! Please don't, I'm sorry." Her voice was shaky as if she was crying, "…You don't have to be so mean!"

Oliver stood with his back to the girl, knowing that if he saw her cry he would lose his edge, "Mai, do you understand how much you cause everyone to worry when you run off or disappear? It not only causes panic amongst us, but also halts the case. If you can't follow orders…"

"No Naru I'll listen I promise!"

He turned around and smirked, "Then tell me about the dream you had while being unconscious."

She looked at him shocked, "How did you…?"

"I always do."

YASU P.o.V

"Sorry to just pull you out of there like that. Boss-man has a bad temper, and this was one of those times not even I would cross it. I'm Yasu by the way."

I had went to gather the others but they had been in the middle of a coffee break and as Ayako had said it,

'We work non stop. Naru will be okay if we sit and finish our drinks.'

Monk had merely nodded at this. I tried to joke with them for a bit, but everyone had seemed in a grumpy mood. It probably had something to do with the unconscious Mai on the couch.

I looked at the girl who I had somehow managed to wind up with. She was pretty and was giving me a nice smile. I mean I guess at least I got to run off with a pretty girl on this case.

"I'm Kimi." She said giving me a shy smile, "I'm an old friend of Mai's."

I nodded pulling a chair out from the table for her before sitting myself, "Kimi? What a pretty name, it fits you very nicely."

I watched the girl blush. She turned the same shade of pink that Mai always does, but it looked better on her. Not saying Mai isn't pretty, quite the opposite. But this girl. This girl was beautiful.

"T-thank you Yasu."

"No, thank you." I said picking her hand and kissing it making her giggle and turn even redder, "Hey, if you aren't busy later…."

"And that's it." Mai said pushing her stray hairs behind her ears, "What do you think?"

Oliver cupped his hand to his mouth, "It does answer some questions. Let's go meet up with everyone so we can speak of it, I don't want to have to say this twice."

Mai nodded and jumped up trailing behind Naru. She knew that she was walking on egg shells right now with him and she had to act perfect or she would be out. She let out a soft sigh, she wasn't trying to be annoying. She walked with her head down shuffling her feet as she went until she ran into the back of Naru.

"Naru what gives?"

Mai looked around him to see Kimi and Yasu sitting alone having what looked to be a deep conversation. Mai noticed how Kimi looked as if she was blushing. "Aww…"

"May I inquire as to where the rest of the team is?"

Kimi shot to the back of her chair, her face turning a deep red and looked at the ground. Yasu turned to look at Naru and Mai his cheeks a bit pink, "Ayako and Monk are in the kitchen area drinking coffee."

"Did you not tell them that I said for everyone to meet here."

"Ayako said…"

"OOH, Sorry I'm late we were just talking to some of the residents to see if we could get any information for you." Ayako stated loudly walking into the room.

Oliver glared at her but said nothing about the blatant lie, "If everyone is ready, I believe I have a lead on the case. But first Yasu, what information have you gathered?"

"Oh right. Well you see back in 1947 a rather large house stood where this building is today. But it was torn down when a family of three died. It was presumed that the father had killed his wife and child and then himself, but there wasn't enough evidence to finalize that…"

"That's not true! He was a good man!" Mai blurted out suddenly feeling defensive of a man she had never met.

Yasu watched as Naru glared at Mai, making her shut her mouth, then stared back at him, "Continue."

"Yea, well anyways. Once their bodies were recovered they tore the house down right away. In 1954 this apartment complex was built, though it was much smaller than the building we are in today. At the end of that year there were 7 families living here, three of which had kids. Reports of the children going missing and returning with bruises when they were found began that next year. And then…"

Yasu paused taking a deep breath, "In 1955 a little girl named Amy went missing. She was only 6. She was found in the woods within a few hours… But it was too late. Reports say she had a wound that looked as if she had been stabbed in her lower abdomen. The scariest thing was the amount of blood, no one could explain it. There was at least three times the amount of blood that should have been found. After that they remodeled the building making it bigger. In 1984 it started again. Kids would go out to play and just come back all beaten up. A little foreign boy named Joseph was the next victim, found the same way that Amy was. He was 8 years old at the time. After that the family that owned the apartments sold it to the now owners. As far as I know because there were only 2 victims and they were so far apart no one ever looked into it."

"But now it's starting again…" Mai whispered causing everyone to become silent.

"Yasu, do we know about how long it was between when the children first disappeared and when one was murdered?" Naru asked

Yasu flipped through a few files, "About three months."

"How long has this been going on for Kimi?" Monk asked slowly

"Oh god…"

"So we need to act fast. Bou-san be prepared to attempt an exorcisms tomorrow."

Mai jumped up, "But Naru we don't even know who the ghost is! Or where it is for that matter!"

Naru and Lin stood up, "We will figure that out tonight. As for the rest of you I would suggest you getting some sleep. We are doing this very early in the morning."

"But Naru!..."

Ignoring Mai Lin and Naru walked from the room, "5:30 am tomorrow. You had all better be ready."
