Hey, guys! Back with the last chapter !

Now, some people may not be completely happy with this ending. But I have a reason for it. A lot of people want them to completely talk it and get things resolved but the honesty behind the situation is; that would only happen if I was planning on writing this story with the pair of them spanning over several year. Because you can talk about something like this, but that doesn't mean it's resolved. It keeps coming back and causing problems for years to come. Anyway, I hope that just gives you some idea of why I've ended it this way.

Living with Simon and Eric Hillchurch was definitely different from living with the Lightwood siblings and Jace. It was mainly filled with playing playstation and watching Marvel movies and eating the cheapest noodles they could rummage together. She had managed to get a loan together and all of the Uni applications in time to get signed up for the holiday programme. She was going to be crashing on the fold out couch in their lounge for at least the next eight weeks, so she didn't need to pack much. She got a good reference from her job at the café and managed to find work temping at a tiny gourmet chocolate shop only a block down from their apartment building.

There were three weeks of her course before Christmas and then Simon and Clary took the subway home for a week. Isabelle met them at the station and her and Simon jerked together as though attracted by a magnet. Clary stood to the side as they practically ate each others faces off, a disgusted look on her face.

"Clary!" Came a shout, and she turned to see Alec and Magnus jogging toward her. Isabelle managed to pull away from Simon for a split second.

"They wouldn't let me leave without bringing them along," she said before her mouth reconnected with her boyfriends. Magnus instantly wrapped his arms around Clary, engulfing her in his sparkly jacket and something that smelt really, really good. Alec leaned forward to give her a quick kiss on the cheek and took her bag from her hand.

Without intending to, Clary looked over Alec's shoulder to see if Jace was there.

"He's gone back home to see his mum for Christmas," Alec said softly, as he slung an arm over her shoulders and tucked her into his side. "He misses you though."

"He pretty much just mopes around the house all day," Magnus noted. "Living in his own filth."

"Barely eats," Alec continued.

"Barely sleeps!" Magus added, coming around to Clary's other side and linking his arm with hers. Clary looked between the two of them and then looked down at the dirty subway ground. She knew they were just trying to make her feel better, and that was sweet of them. There was something especially sweet about the fact it was Alec trying to make her feel better, because he had never seemed to like her all that much.

But it wasn't working.

Christmas was quiet, spent with her mother and Luke. Simon spent most of it with his family, but he stopped by on his way to Isabelle's to drop off his present for Clary.

Before she went to bed, she stared down at her phone, considering texting Jace.

They hadn't talked face to face since the day he had come over and she had told him about the miscarriage. A few days after her application had been accepted at the University and she had decided that she was going to move in with Simon, he had called her. The conversation had been stilted and awkward, but the pain in both of their voices was clear. He was obviously at work because then Clary had heard Isabelle yelling in the background that his next client was ready. She had told him that she was leaving, and he had said that if that's what she felt like she should do, then that's what she should do.

There hadn't been any communication since, even though Clary had picked up her phone over a hundred times with the intention of calling or texting him. It was Christmas, though. So she settled for something simple before she put her phone on the charge and rolled over.

Merry Christmas x

New Years was spent at Magnus' house. It was only a small get together, and Clary had been aching to ask if Jace was going to be there or send him a text to ask. She refrained, though, but when she got there, Magnus told her that he was still with his mum. Clearly she was doing a terrible job a masking her disappointment because he gave her arm a comforting squeeze.

"I'm sorry, doll," he murmured. By eleven-thirty, everyone was drunk except Clary—even Simon was. Clary tried not to be Betty Buzzkill, so as it got closer to midnight, she disappeared outside. Everyone was pairing off and getting ready for the big 'New Years kiss; and Clary honestly felt miserable.

She had never felt this bad before.

Even with the way she felt about Jace before, she had never felt this way. It had always been like this just out of reach crush or some kind of fantasy. No, it was so much worse this time. Her heart literally throbbed in her chest, her stomach felt completely empty—her whole body felt as though she was missing a limb.

And it was all her fault, for completely pushing him away. At the time it had seemed like the best approach to her problem, but she was definitely seeing the fault in her ways now.

The chanting as the countdown gave Clary a fright and she raised an eyebrow as she turned around and looked through the open back door to where her friends were shouting. She pulled out her phone, her thumb sliding over the touch screen, resting over the phone icon and hovering there as New Years struck. Fireworks started going off, lighting up the night sky and the shouts and laughs from every New Yorker could he heard for miles. Inside, her friends were all matched up, locked in kisses. Clary looked back down at her phone, deciding to make the call.

"Clary!" Isabelle crowed out, somehow managing to run toward Clary in the towering heels she was wearing. "I need your kiss as well!" She barely gave the smaller girl any warning before she was crashing against her and pushing her lips to hers. Clary couldn't stop her surprised laugh and saw a pink Simon behind Isabelle.

"My turn, bitches!" Magnus added, knocking Isabelle out of the way to plan two very wet and very noisy kisses on each of Clary's cheeks. Inside, Aline had turned up the radio, and was now practically screaming out the lyrics to Miley Cyrus' iconic hit, Party in the USA.

"Yo, Clary!" Isabelle shouted from wheere she was now back in the lounge. "Dance with me!" The horrible feeling in her stomach faded as Magnus and Alec both pulled at her arms, encouraging her into the lounge.

"Clary! Dude, roll over!" Isabelle was groaning groggily—clearly still completely hungover from last night. Her and Clary had crashed out on the couch, while Simon was sprawled out on the hard wood floors. Clary grumbled as she attempted to roll over and give Isabelle some room, but there wasn't really anywhere to go. Isabelle continued to huff and grumble, so Clary just made an executive decision to abandon all hope of sleep and got off the couch. Isabelle immediately sprawled out, taking up the whole couch. Clary snorted at that, and walked toward the kitchen.

Cleaning up was going to be a good time today; there were red solo cups scattered through the hall and lounge, empty bottles everywhere and sticky liquid substances spilt over the bench and floor.

"Ick," Clary grunted, pouring herself a glass of water and searching for her cigarettes and a lighter. She managed to find some among the clutter, as well as her phone, and meandered outside. She lit up her cigarette and propped it in her mouth and pressed the home button to check any notification on her phone...

...And then nearly dropped it when she saw eight missed calls from Jace and a voicemail.

"Shit!" She gasped out as she clicked on the voice mail icon and lifted her phone to her ear.

"Clary...Red...Clarissa," Jace was very clearly drunk. "I don't know if you're ignoring my calls or if you're out getting wasted," his words were slurred and Clary could hear music and shouting in the background so he was either he was either at a party or a club. "Look, Clary, I miss you. I miss you so much." Tears sprung to Clary's eyes as he spoke. "I miss you so much that it hurts. I'm sorry about what happened—but this happened to me as well. And I need you to understand that I will do anything—anything—to get us back. I'm coming back on Wednesday and I would really like to see you if you're still in town." He went quiet and all Clary could hear were people singing crazily off key to some pop song in the background. She wondered if he had meant to end the call, but then she heard him take in a deep breath. "I love you, Red. So fucking much." A beep indicated the end of the call. Clary pulled it away from her and immediately tried calling him.

And it went straight to answer phone.

"Fuck," she hissed out.

Jace hadn't heard back from Clary. He'd be lying if he said that wasn't nervous to the point where he actually thought he might throw up. As he drove back into the city, his hands were wrapped tightly around the handles of his motorbike that his knuckles were white. His golden eyes were cloudy with worry as he turned down the street for his home with the Lightwoods. She was back in the city, although he wasn't sure for how long, but after New Years, he had decided that he was going to see her.

He had to see her.

Even if it was jut to say goodbye.

He was so lost in his thoughts that he almost drove his motorbike directly into a soccer mum van. Both the woman and her toddler gave him a dirty look as they drove past him. Jace shook his head and jerked his bike to the side of the road, in front of the walk up that he shared with Isabelle and Alec, and pulled off his helmet. He swung his leg over the seat of the bike and unzipped his leather jacket, running his hand through his shaggy hair.

"That was smooth," came a voice that startled Jace and made him stop in his tracks.

His girl.

Clary.

"Taking out an innocent mum and kid?" Clary continued, getting up from where she was standing on the concrete steps leading up to the walk up. "You impress all the girls that way?"

"Only one girl that I want to impress," Jace shot back, taking a step closer to her so that there was only about a meter between them.

God, she was beautiful.

Jace couldn't stop his eyes raking over her appreciatively.

Her long red hair was out, framing her face and falling over her shoulders. She was wearing jeans and a chunky black sweater with grey mittens to warm her against the Winters cold. Her nose and cheeks were pink from the chill, but it was her eyes that he couldn't take his own eyes away from.

They were gorgeous, and clear, and happy, and the dancing emerald eyes were looking directly at him. At him.

She was finally seeing him again.

"What are you doing here?" Jace asked, hoping like hell that this wasn't some coincidence.

"Oh, ya know," she gave a casual shrug. "I make a habit of sitting on cold steps in the middle of Winter for absolutely no reason." Jace narrowed his and Clary made a face at him, poking out her tongue. "I'm here for you, dumbass." Jace couldn't hold back the relieved snort of laughter that came out and Clary sent him a small smile.

"Even if I left you a disastrous voice mail?" He winced.

"Even if you left me a disastrous voice mail," her smile grew a little. "But it was pretty cute."

"I was so drunk," Jace groaned in embarrassment.

"But it was still cute," Clary insisted. She glanced down and took the small step to close the distance between them. "Look, uh," she took in a shaky breath before she started talking rapidly, her words all starting to blend together. "I should have handled things better. I'm so sorry I cut you out, Jace. I shouldn't have done that, I thought that what I was doing at the time was the right thing—I'm so sorry—"

"Hey, hey, hey!" Jace interrupted her babbling, rushing forward and cupping her face in his hands. Her skin was so soft and cold underneath is touch, and felt so fucking good. "There's no guidelines on how to act in a situation like this," he assured, caressing her cheeks with his thumbs. "And I mean...We've both got a lot that we want to say, right? But I don't really think that right now is the best time for that. All that matters is that we're back together now." She blinked at him, hesitating, and a nervous look crossed his handsome face. "Right?" He asked worriedly.

"Right," Clary breathed, raising herself up on her tip-toes so that she could reach him. Her lips connected with his and Jace almost cried out in relief.

Her perfect rosebud mouth fitted perfectly with his, and she parted her lips almost instantly, allowing him into her warmth. His tongue savoured the taste of her, and his hands dropped from her face to wrap around her waist, holding her tiny body against his muscular one.

"I love you, Red," Jace murmured when they briefly parted.

"I love you too, Jace," Clary managed before his lips crushed down on hers again. The couple lost track of time as they kissed until they become aware they had an audience. Clary ducked her head, letting out a little embarrassed laugh.

"Uh," Jace's eyebrows raised as he pulled away and looked up at their friends, who were all crowded at the front door. "How long have all you been standing there?"

"Too long," Simon stated.

"You guys are gross," Isabelle muttered, her nose scrunched up.

"Disgusting," Alec added with an unimpressed expression.

"Kiss again, kiss again!" Magnus chanted, clearly the only one enjoying the show. Clary's cheeks reddened even more, this out of embarrassment rather than the cold.

"You better get inside before you start taking each others clothes off," Isabelle suggested.

"Or one of the neighbours start throwing buckets of cold water at you," Alec shook his head.

"I love it!" Magnus grinned broadly at his group of friends. "Aw," he wrapped an arm around Alec and smushed a kiss to his cheek. "We're all back together again, the stars are all re-aligned and everything is right in the universe again," he announced theatrically. Jace snorted and shook his head.

"Let's get Shakespeare back inside before he starts trying to serenade us all," Jace joked. The four all turned to head back into the house, the couple at the bottom of the steps exchanging looks.

"Come on, guys!" Isabelle shouted from inside and Clary let out a laugh.

"Come on, Jace Wayland," she sung out, pulling him toward the house. "Follow me!" She turned around and ran up the stairs and disappeared into the warmth of the house.

"Always gonna, Red," Jace promised under his breath as he ran up the stairs after her.

So? How are we feeling? Please pay heed to the authors note at the beginning, but also, don't worry! There will be an epilogue! It will be posted sometime in the near future :)

Now pretties, I have a new idea. I'm going to do a sort of alphabet songfic oneshot story. So each chapter will stand for each letter, working through from A - Z. Aaaaand the requests for each song are up to you guys :) Some of the letters have already been taken, because I've discussed this idea with a couple of people, but the rest are all up to you! So you can either send through requests in your reviews, or in PM, and let me know what ships you would want. I'm mainly Clace, Sizzy and Malec, but I don't mind trying my hand at other TMI ships.

You guys interested?

Let me know :)

And I want to say a huge, massive thank you to everyone who has followed/favourited and especially to those who have reviewed and PM'd me. You guys have all been absolutely incredible, and I don't know what I would have done without your support!
