Ayame's P.o.V.

Sasuke and I made it back to the training grounds long before the others did. As we waited upon their arrival, we did some basic exercises and I got to try out a few new moves I had learned from my independent studies. I mostly worked on my Earth Clones, however. I think they might come quite in handy in the future. I had just finished dismissing the jutsu, when something donned on me.

"Sasuke-kun." I called. He looked up at me and I waved him to come to me. He did and we sat on the soft, green grass. The breeze blew through my hair as I thought about how I would word my question to him.

"Hai, Ayame-chan?" He asked me, trying to gain my attention. "Is something wrong?" He brushed a piece of fly away hair out of my face. I slowly took his hand in mine.

"Sasuke-kun, do you remember that mission? With Tazuna-san and Zabuza-san?" I recollected and I felt Sasuke's hand tense up as he nodded. "Then, you remember Haku-san."

"And? What about them?" He asked, almost angrily.

"Do you remember how I managed to use your Fire Ball Jutsu?" I asked. He met my eyes and nodded. "How was I able to do that? I have Earth Type chakra. Not Fire." Sasuke tiled his head slightly.

"And here I am, thinking you're open-minded." He mused. I simply raised an eyebrow. "Have you come to think that you have both?" I sighed and shook my head.

"That's so unlikely though! And when I had my chakra test-"

"Chakra paper isn't always right." He reassured me. "And besides, you have an incredible amount of chakra anyway. Anything is possible." He made a small, sweet smile that made me believe he was right.

"Damn you and your charm." I sighed with a smile. "Thanks, Sasuke-kun. I like you."

"I like you, too." He replied. We started leaning into each other until our lips met and within our kiss, a thousand unspoken words were said. When we separated our lips, we kept our foreheads connected. I closed my eyes and listened to his heartbeat.

"Oi, fraternize on your own time." Kakashi called. "No PDA on my watch. I don't get paid enough for this."

"Quit your moaning and groaning." Sasuke sighed. He was the first of us to get up, but I reluctantly followed his action. "Sensei, could we have Ayame-chan's chakra retested?"

"Hm? Why?"

"Because we need to make sure she only has Earth Type."

"She is standing right here." I said, annoyed. I hate it when people speak for me because they are usually way off target with what I'm thinking. Not that Sasuke was wrong or anything. "Kakashi-sensei, do you have any chakra paper on you?" He nodded before slipping out a small square of paper.

"Remember, just put a little chakra in the paper." He reminded me.

"Hai." I nodded. I breathed in and slowly exhaled. Something amazing happened. The right half of the paper began to crumble away- this happens with Earth Type chakra- but the left side began to emit smoke and suddenly, it was alight with flames! "K-Kuso!" I gasped in surprise. "How in the world is this possible, Kakashi-sensei?"

"Hm, extraordinary." He mumbled, tapping his index finger to his chin. "I don't think I've seen a case like yours."

"Ne!? A case? What does that mean?" I asked, almost frantic. Kakashi held his hands in a surrendering manner.

"Calm down, Ayame. Take a seat. Catch your breath." Kakashi said. I made a few hand signs.

"Earth Block Jutsu!" And there was a cube of dirt before me. I sat on it and caught my breath.

"Better?" My sensei asked me. I nodded. "Good. When I say 'I've never seen a case like yours before', I mean that this is a unique situation. Have you never heard that expression before? Sheesh. Anyway, this is the first time I've seen Fire and Earth Type chakra in one host before. It's a wonder they can coexist."

"But why didn't it show up the first time I was tested?"

"Sometimes, chakra can remain dormant for a long time. It must have just recently matured out of that state. When did you notice this change?" I looked away guiltily. How could I be so stupid by not mentioning it sooner?

"During the mission with Tazuna." Sasuke answered for me. Immediately after he spoke, Sakura and Naruto emerged from the woods.

"Oi, Onee-san!" Naruto waved. I sheepishly waved back.

"We'll finished discussing this later." Kakashi muttered before turning to face the approaching duo. "You're late."

"Hey! Don't say it like that!" Naruto shouted, pointing a finger. "When are you ever on time, anyway!?

"Tonight I am and you are not."

"Gah, one time! One time!"

"Hey!" Sasuke called out to the two. "I think it might be important to warn you that Ayame-chan and I were being followed during our break." They all fell silent.

"We didn't see them, so we don't know what they look like or their Village of origin." I added. "It's likely they were ninja trying to gather information to aid them in the Chunin Exams."

"I bet it was that freaky Ame-nin from yesterday." Sakura remarked. I clenched my teeth.

"I doubt it was Yuki-chan." I threw back. Sakura cocked a hip.

"Yuki-chan, ne?" She sassed. "She seems weird. Lioke she's trouble."

"Why do you think that, Sakura?" Kakashi asked. I sprung up in my feet.

"Who cares why!?" I shouted. "What right do you have to go around judging her!? How would you feel, Sakura-chan!? If someone judged you and harassed you for being different!? She's my friend and if you have a problem with her, you can direct it to me!"

"Ayame, calm-"

"No, sensei." Sakura smirked. "Do you mind if we have a match to...warm us up?"

"Sakura, I don't think-"

"No, Kakashi-sensei." I interrupted. "That's a great idea." I know I'm a lot better than Sakura, so I can beat her easily as well as get my message across.

I was so sick of people thinking they can go around saying what they want about others. I've seen it with Naruto and myself, but it absolutely killed me to see my Onii-san go through it. And there was nothing I could do about it back then. Now is my chance to show that I'm not about to go down without fighting.

...

Sakura and I stood a far length apart. I stood at the ready; my back was hunched over and my arms were in a defensive position. Sakura stood with a smirk on her face. How dare she think she was superior to me. Wait, what? Why am I thinking like this? I didn't care. I was angry at her and at everyone in the village. They were hypocrites. They had no idea what it was like to be ridiculed for no reason.

"Alright, what are the limitations?" Kakashi asked from a safe distance, standing in between Naruto and Sasuke. "Ayame, you were challenged. You decide." I cracked my neck.

"Limitless."

"O-Onee-san? Are you sure this is a good-"

"Onii-san, you hush." I growled. interrupting Naruto's plea. "I know what I'm doing. Your girlfriend was the one to start this whole mess." Even from afar, I could see Sakura's face become red with embarrassment and anger.

"N-Nani!? WHAT DID YOU SAY?" She shrieked.

She started sprinting at me with all her might and I just managed to leap out of the way. I thought about throwing a shuriken at her, but she was a sitting duck, and that would have left me with no satisfaction. I ignored my weapons' pouch and continued on with my battle. I made a few hand signs and I was skyrocketed upwards, sitting on top of an Earth pedestal. There, I would have contemplated my strategy, but Sakura came running right up it!

"Don't you run away from me!" She was screaming. My eyes widened.

"K-Kuso!" I spat as I jumped off of the pillar. I did a back flip upon my landing. "I can't hurt her too badly. I need her for the Exams!" I muttered to myself.

"Cha! Coward!"

"Then again, we only really need three members of the team..."

Sakura came running at me again, her fist clenched and drawn back, ready to swing. I jumped back, continuing with my ninjutsu and hand signs.

"Earth Style: Earth Clone!" The was a second Ayame standing right next to me. "Now!" I called.

We both started sprinting at Sakura, but only one of us had the intent to strike. I was holding up my fist as a distraction, while the double tripped Sakura right from under her fast-moving feet. The clone took advantage of her and sat right on Sakura, pinning her arms by her side and immobilizing her.

"Check and mate." I muttered. I nodded at the clone and it nodded back before disappearing. "I hope you enjoyed yourself." I said before turning to walk away. I didn't want to be there anymore.

"Yo, where do you think you're going?" Kakashi shouted after me.

"I'm just so done." I sighed exasperatedly. "I'm done for the evening, anyway. Do not disturb me until morning. Goodbye." I ignored everyone and everything after that moment. Mostly because I didn't care then. I'm so done.
