Harry was dragged into a large room that looked like an atrium. The walls looked moldy and black, with the wallpaper peeling off of the walls. The ceiling was made of glass, but contained huge deposits of dirt in the corners.
"Where am I?! What's going on?!" Harry shouted to his captors, as they threw him to the floor. Out of the shadows came a death eater woman he'd never seen before. She looked deranged now, but Harry could tell that she might have once been quite an attractive looking woman, with her long curly hair and sharp features. She looked…familiar, but he could not quite place her.
"My, my you have grown, Potter. Such a handsome face! Tsk tsk, pity it's going to be contorted in pain in a few moments," she purred, as she circled around him like a vulture.
Harry tried to get up but the woman quickly put her wand to his throat.
"Ah, ah, ah, itty bitty Potty, not so fast. You see, I need to ask you some questions before the Dark Lord arrives. You see, we need some, what's the word? Information from you. Either you're going to give it to us, or we'll make you scream for your dear, dead mummy. Understood, Potty?" she finished with a laugh.
Harry struggled at the taunting of his mother, but still could not gain leverage on her.
"Now, tell me Harry, where is the headquarters to the Order of the Phoenix?" she asked.
Order of the Phoenix? What was that? "I don't know what you're talking about. Even if I did, I still wouldn't tell you," Harry replied.
"Whoops, wrong answer! CRUCIO!" she casted.
Pain, searing agony swept through Harry's bones like wildfire and he screamed so loudly he was sure he'd wake the dead.
The Order meeting had adjourned. The guard that left Grimmauld place to find and locate Harry and Ginny had returned, empty handed.
In addition to feeling disappointed, Sirius came back feeling more depressed than when he left. They had gone to the Dursley house in Surrey, only to find the house empty and Harry's room empty of all his belongings as well. He noticed the glass on the floor of Harry's room and the makeshift rope ladder and his stomach churned. Remus stood in the doorway of Harry's room staring at Sirius worriedly. Then they had visited Amanda's shop to try and retrace Harry's steps, only to find a dead end there as well. So, here they were, sitting in the meeting with no clue what to do. He could here Molly shouting and Remus urging her to calm down, but Sirius was numb to it all. Tired of the dead ends and Dumbledore's misguided reassurances, he got up and announced he was going to the loo, only to earn a worried glance from the table. However, as he ascended the stairs, Sirius glanced up at something interesting that he caught out of the corner of his eye. Ron and Hermione were attempting to sneak out again, this time, nicking the brooms the Order members had cast into the corner of the kitchen.
Instead of calling their attention, Sirius quietly followed them, intent upon hearing their conversation.
"Ronald! Keep your voice down or they'll hear us!" Hermione chided. "Now how does this necklace of yours work again?"
"Well, it's simple really. Ginny has the matching one and if I speak her fully name into it, it will lead us to her. Hopefully, when we find her, she'll have some answers about Harry." He replied.
"Are you sure it works?"
"Of course I am, Hermione! Dad gave it to us. After the chamber, you know. Just in case she ever needed help again. I've tested it a few times, and I've never seen it take it off."
"Alright, let's go then." Hermione said as she mounted one of the brooms, shakily.
"Are you sure you don't want to share with me again?" Ron asked.
"No, I'll do my best. Besides if we find Ginny, all three of us can't fit on one broom. Now do your thing."
"Right then. Ginerva Molly Weasley." He spoke into the necklace that now hung loosely at his neck. He quietly chided himself for leaving at the house the first time. He'd fallen into the habit of taking the necklace off when not in Hogwarts, thinking that Ginny would always be safe as long as he was with her. He'd been foolish, and he'd never make that mistake again. The necklace glowed Red and Ron's eyes glazed over. He saw a few familiar landmarks he recognized and then Ginny, trapped in an old basement, screaming something at the top of her lungs, while tears poured down her face.
Ron blinked his eyes, focusing back on Hermione's anxious face.
"Baker Lane. That's where she is. The old abandoned house on Baker Lane, in Ottery St. Catchpole. Mum used to take us into the village every now and then to see the Christmas decorations on the muggle houses. There's a house on Baker Lane that was always empty and dilapidated. That's what I just saw." Ron finished.
Sirius, who had watched the entire scene ensconced formulated a plan. He would quietly follow Ron and Hermione, to make sure they stayed safe. And to escape this wretched house. Dumbledore must not find out, so he had to leave now. He turned around to grab a broom and walked straight into Remus.
"Going somewhere without me, Padfoot?"
"Er- I was just-"
"Save it, I'm coming."
"But-"
"I'm going. Besides, what if they come up against Death Eaters? You'll need some help."
Sirius smiled. "Just like old times, Moony."
