"Never have I ever…," James mumbles as Scorpius straightens his gloves.

"What?" Scorpius asks, but James can't—of course not—answer, and then they have to walk out on the Quidditch pitch, which means that Scorpius can't expect an answer any longer.

But in his head, James continues the sentence. Never have I ever thought I'd be the Potter falling for a Malfoy. Hell, it makes more sense that Albus would have done so. But not me.

He mounts his broom and decides not to worry, that it will all be fine.

Then he realizes they're going to shower afterwards.
