Inside the Chaotix' headquarters, Vector was listening to music on his walkman while Espio was meditating. Suddenly, Charmy burst in through the door.
"Guys, guys, guys! We have a customer!" Charmy shouted excitedly.
"Charmy, seriously, do you have to drop in like that every time we get a customer?" Espio asked, annoyed.
"Well, who is this customer?" Vector asked.
A young rhino walked in. "That would be me." The young rhino said. The young rhino had gray skin and blond hair in a Timmy Turner-esque cut and wore a white polo shirt with white jeans as well as white gloves on his hands.
"Well, hello, kid. How can we help you?" Vector asked.
"My name is Steve Rhino, I'm the 6 year old son of billionaire Winston Rhino, and my father's Crown of Everlasting Wonder has been stolen by a crook named Danny the Albatross." The young rhino said. "We could use your detective skills to track him down."
"And uh, what's in it for us?" Charmy asked.
Steve got out a silver briefcase and opened it. It was full of stacks of 20's.
"This is what's in it for you." Steve said.
Vector's jaw dropped at the sight of the money.
"Whoa, with all this money we can buy a new headquarters!" Vector said. "Okay, we'll do it."
"Well, this is definitely a customer we can trust, so we'll do it." Espio said.
"Alright, where to first?" Charmy asked.
"Well, we should go to Steve and his father's mansion first to look for any clues that Danny the Albatross might have left behind." Vector said.
"Yes, let's go." Steve said.
Later, the quartet arrived at Steve and his father's mansion. Steve's father, Winston Rhino was also present. Winston was a gray rhino had short blond hair that was neatly combed, and he wore a black two piece suit with a white dress shirt and white gloves.
"So, where was the crown?" Vector asked.
"It was in the treasure room on a pedestal under a glass dome." Winston said.
"Could you lead us there?" Espio asked.
"Of course I can. Right this way, gentlemen." Winston said as him and Steve led the Chaotix to the treasure room, where they found the pedestal the Crown of Everlasting Wonder was originally situated on. The crown was obviously no longer sitting on the pedestal.
"So this is where the crown once was?" Vector asked as him, Espio and Charmy looked at the empty pedestal.
Winston and Steve nodded. "We have security cameras and a security system inside the treasure room and the mansion, but they were disabled by Danny and his gang of crooks when they pulled off the heist, therefore allowing them to easily steal the crown." Winston explained.
"This note was left behind by Danny and his gang." Steve chimed in as he handed the note to Espio, who proceeded to read it.
"Dear owner of the Crown of Everlasting Wonder, we have submitted you this note to inform you of the theft of your artifact, which we have stolen ourselves. We have also submitted you this note to inform you that we demand a sum of $1.000.000 in exchange for the safe return of the Crown of Everlasting Wonder. If you do not comply, the Crown of Everlasting Wonder will be destroyed and you will never see its return. Submit the sum of $1.000.000 within a timespan of three days. – Danny T. Albatross" Espio read out loud.
"Geez...If that thief were smart, he wouldn't have informed you of the theft, wouldn't you think?" Charmy asked Winston and Steve, scratching his head in confusion as to why Danny would do such a thing.
"He sent Mr. Winston and his son this note because he is holding the crown ransom, Charmy. He's obviously trying to bait Mr. Winston into giving him money, but he most likely won't keep his end of the deal and destroy the crown regardless. At least, I have reason to believe so." Espio told Charmy.
"So what should we do?" Winston asked the Chaotix.
Vector stepped forward. "Don't worry, Mr. Winston! We'll get your Crown of Everlasting Wonder back for you! Right, guys?" He asked Espio and Charmy.
Espio nodded. "We will, and we will bring you the crown back unharmed." He added.
"Yeah! We'll make sure that dirty criminal will pay for nabbing your precious crown!" Charmy beamed.
Winston and Steve smiled at this. "Thank you, gentlemen. We cannot tell you how much this means to us." Winston told the Chaotix.
Vector nodded at this before turning to Espio and Charmy. "Alright. Espio, Charmy, I suggest that the three of us split up and each work seperately to try and find the Crown of Everlasting Wonder, because if Danny has a whole gang or network of criminals working for him, then he might be causing more trouble than he has here at Mr. Winston's mansion." He told Espio and Charmy.
Espio and Charmy nodded. "I hear you, Vector. Me and Charmy will both do our part in restoring the damage that this Danny the Albatross and his network of criminals have done to the land." He told Vector.
"Yeah! Let's go!" Charmy cheered as he flew out of the mansion and Espio ran out the door. Vector then turned back to Winston and Steve.
"Say, Mr. Winston. Do you happen to own a motorcycle or any other land vehicle I could possibly use?" Vector asked Winston.
Winston nodded at that. "Certainly, Mr. Vector. I have a motorcycle you could use." He told Vector as he pulled the keys to his motorcycle out of his suit pants pocket and tossed them towards Vector, who caught them and grinned.
"Thanks, Mr. Winston!" Vector told Winston.
Winston nodded again. "Anytime. The motorcycle the keys I just gave you belong to a black motorcycle with a sidecar. It's in the garage. Now get going." He told Vector.
"Yes, sir!" Vector saluted as he ran towards the garage to get the motorcycle, and once he had found it, he got in the driver's seat, started up the motorcycle and drove out of the garage.
