DarkFoxKit: Hey everyone. Uh… sorry for the long wait, we were just having some… difficulties. You know how it goes, people have lives… I probably should try doing more by myself.
Key2DestNE: *is in the corner, curled up* Geez, no need to rub it in… Yes, in case you couldn't tell, it was ME who was giving our favorite foxy author such trouble- and YES, I AM FREAKING SORRY ABOUT IT. So no need to start flaming it… I may as well get that out there super quick…
DarkFoxKit: Nobody's mad at you. Anyways, I apologize if this chapter doesn't 'progress' the story as some people may see it that way, but it is a very important backstory for Mew. And unlike the previous one, this was done in Mew's point of view.
Key2DestNE: Yeah- consider the last one as more of a story from everybody's point of view, and this one… Well, you'll see when you begin to read it. *is still curled up in the corner, almost looking like a fuzzy blue ball*
DarkFoxKit: I guess we don't really have much to say this time. So, uh… just enjoy the story and we'll see you at the bottom.
Chapter 12: Legend of Orre
*Flashback*
I was flying across the sea, not having any particular destination in mind. Some of the other Legendaries were growing uneasy with me being the leader again… so I asked for Arceus to take over for a little while- just long enough for everyone to calm down and get comfortable again. Although, because of this, humans and Pokemon alike were starting to believe HE created all of Pokemon, and it was getting on my nerves.
I soon found a continent that I hadn't really visited in years, mostly because it was left in ruins because of the pollution in the air that people left. Wild Pokemon could not survive such a place, except for the few locations that there is some greenery- but regardless, it was a good place for me to go for some peace and quiet even if the air is dirty. I flew down into a desert place, but it was close to a watery city. I looked around, trying to get a sense of where I was and what environment I was in before turning into a Skarmory.
As a Skarmory, I flew around the place without worry since people don't believe any wild Pokemon live in this region. As I was flying, I saw a building in the middle of nowhere, broken apart and looking abandoned, apart from a few random people nearby. That seemed odd to me- why would there be a building with people in it in a place like this? In fact, it looks like it's tucked between two canyon walls…
I flew closer, examining it curiously, before I shrugged, cawing slightly before I began flying away. Whoever these people were, they looked like they had uniforms, so maybe they were investigating the area. Regardless, it wasn't any of my business, so I flew on.
What I didn't realize was that the humans here had better technology than the humans in the other region, because I wasn't expecting anyone to see through my Transformation, and I was paying for it. "Is that…?"
I blinked, looking down when I heard someone speaking as if he just saw a Ghost type. The man was staring at me with some kind of strange goggles and paling, as if shocked. He took a slow step towards me, almost as if he had never seen a Skarmory before. "N-no way… that's…" He smiled to himself. "That's incredible… I've actually seen one…"
I frowned in confusion, tilting my head. Why is he looking at me like that? A Skarmory is not exactly rare in this region, is it? Then I blinked, seeing him pull out a Poke Ball. Don't tell me he thinks I'm wild! I gave a small shrill at him as if a warning to back off.
The man did seem intimidated, but he didn't back down- instead he released a Mightyena, a Dark Type… Why use a Dark type against a Steel/Flying type? The Mightyena growled as I glared right back. I kicked up sand, using Sand-Attack at the Mightyena's face, causing it to whimper. I didn't want to cause a fight, I just wanted them to back off.
The man smiled, growing more confident as he pointed at me. "Mightyena, use Bite!" What is he doing? I don't understand this human at all- is he just stupid, or does he see something else other than a Skarmory, like a Chimecho? Whatever, his stupidity will cost him a Skarmory.
Since I was Transformed and not using an Illusion like a Zorua or Zoroark would use, my typing is the same as a real Skarmory, so the Bite did next to nothing but just irritated me a bit. I used my wing to knock the Mightyena back. I gave a louder shrill, trying to warn him to back off now, or I will fight back. I noticed this human was wearing some strange white uniform, which was different from the black and red rags I saw those other guys were wearing at that blown up hide-out.
He frowned, murmuring to himself in confusion. "That's odd… the attack didn't work- unless…!" He perked up, before suddenly returning his Mightyena. Good, he's finally- "Go, Electabuzz!" …Is he really this dumb!? Just what is he trying to prove? Doesn't he know there aren't any wild Pokemon out here!?
I screeched loudly, before getting zapped by the Electabuzz! "Hmph- so it IS working. Alright… Electabuzz, use Thunder!"
Of course, being half Flying makes me super vulnerable to Electric types! I hissed as I flew up and began pushing both the stubborn human and the Electabuzz back with Air Cutter, maybe if I fly away now I can get away…
GAH! I was suddenly hit by another wave of electricity, it wasn't powerful though, but it was enough to paralyze me! I couldn't move as I fell from the sky and hit the ground, my entire body was numb.
"Good job Manectric." Another voice spoke up, sounding to be female, from behind me. I struggled to turn to see it was indeed a woman, wearing that strange white uniform and wearing those same goggles with a Manectric beside her. "You used the Thunder Wave at the precise moment."
What do these people want with a Skarmory!? I gave a loud shrill at them, wanting them to go away, but instead, more of them began to surround me.
The man I ran into first smirked, pointing at me. "Electabuzz, hit it with Thunderbolt- we aren't letting that Mew get away!" …Wait… WHAT!? How does he know I'm really Mew!? My Transform is stronger than what any Pokedex can detect! How did they know!?
I wasn't going out without a fight, though. Despite my paralysis, I fought through it to tackle the Electabuzz! It wasn't the move Tackle, but more like a Drill Peck as I hit its chest and caused it to hit its Trainer right when it used Thunderbolt, zapping the man instead of me. I struggled to move my wings as I tried to fly, but being paralyzed made it very difficult. Of course, it was foolish to try and get away with so many of them here.
"Manectric, use Spark!" I barely moved when that Manectric jumped on my back and zapped me with its touch! I gave a loud cry- if I was in my original form, this would just be a flick to the hand, but because I was in a Flying type form, this hurts like crazy! And this Manectric was obviously well-trained to have such a powerful punch in that attack.
The woman pulled out an Ultra Ball, walking towards me. "None of us expected to see a Mew here, but if you think you can get away now, you're not going to get the chance."
Silly humans, if they think anything less than a Master Ball could capture me, they are sadly mistaken. Since they obviously know it's me, I didn't bother keeping this form on. I dispelled the Skarmory form and immediately shrank back down to my original Mew form. Despite knowing what I was, this shocked these people, and they all gasped. As soon as I was more comfortable, I immediately used a powerful Psychic blast to blow them all away from me and then used Refresh to get rid of the paralysis. As soon as that was done, I immediately teleported, escaping their grasp.
Although I had teleported away from them, I could still hear their lingering voices in my head- and being a curious Psychic type, I listened to what they were saying.
The man sounded furious, and he clenched his fist angrily. "It got away! We nearly had it, too- if you had only used that glass casing instead of the Ultra Ball…!"
"Calm down boss, it couldn't have gone far with all of the injuries it sustained." The woman said in a desperate attempt to calm him down.
"But what's such a rare and Legendary Pokemon like Mew doing in Orre of all places? The only region that was said to have ever appeared in was Kanto, and even then it was rare and considered a myth." another man said in wonder and awe, and I almost giggled at their wonder of my appearance. "And besides, the only Legendaries to come near here are Ho-Oh, Lugia, Entei, Raikou, Suicune and Celebi."
"Maybe it was on vacation…I know I could use one." one of the men muttered in the background.
"Well, quit whining and start searching. We need to find that Mew! It'll be perfect for the ultimate Shadow Pokemon- if we can use it's power, nobody can stop it! Now GET MOVING, I WANT THAT MEW!" the angry man shouted, pointing at all of them.
I frowned at this… 'Shadow Pokemon'? What are they talking about? I've never heard of those before… Are these guys a criminal organization trying to make these 'Shadow Pokemon' to take over the world?
I blinked, adjusting my focus to the world around me, and I found myself staring into a glass building. Where did I teleport to? This looks like… some kind of big colosseum building, in the middle of a desert? I looked around curiously, but there was something off in that reflection I was looking at. I don't see myself… instead I see… some kind of messed up world…? If I could call it that. My ears twitched as I thought I heard something like a faint roar coming from it. I tilted my head… it's almost like someone's… calling out to me.
I frowned, listening closer before my eyes widened. That roar… it sounds just like another Legendary I know. "...Giratina?" I called out, taking a closer look at the mirror in front of me.
"Hello Mew. Long time no see." Giratina said as his head suddenly popped through the reflective surface, startling me. Geez, why'd he have to do that all the time!? "What brings you to the region of Orre?"
I gave a sigh, shrugging. "I just came here while flying around. I couldn't go much of anywhere because so many Pokemon distrust me, so I figured I'd come to the one place where there aren't any wild Pokemon. Why did you call me, Giratina? Are you going to fight against me too?"
"Oh no, I'm not here to fight you. I already know I'd win anyway." He chuckled at his little joke, and I shook my head in amusement, knowing he didn't actually mean it. "I was just interested why you came to this accursed place."
"It was just to get my mind off my situation. I wasn't expecting the people here to see through my Transformation and attack me." I spoke quietly. "I guess their technology is on par with other Legendary Pokemon if they could see through me, though…"
"You should have done your homework before coming here. There are evils here that could horrify you. I even wrote a book about it!" Wait… he writes books?
I blinked, tilting my head curiously. "...Since when did you start writing books, Giratina? I thought your job was to keep your world from collapsing…"
"I finally found a way to keep it self-sustaining while I'm there, and I get bored every now and then, so why not?" He smirked slightly, tilting his head in what was his best imitation of a shrug. "Here's a copy if you want to see the evil in the region. Come by and tell me more of what you learn so I can update it. I already know you're curious." He threw the book at me and I caught it, looking down at it before he disappeared along with the world, leaving only my reflection.
I frowned thoughtfully, looking at the book in my hands. I opened it to see it was written in Footprint Runes, something only a Pokemon could read so humans couldn't figure it out. I flew somewhere high, high, high into the sky so nobody would bother me. Wow, this tower is so high too… I sat at the very top and began reading, ignoring the people who were below me, cheering on some Pokemon battle- I didn't really care who it was or what Pokemon, so I just ignored it.
*Flashback Interrupted*
Ash blinked, holding up a hand to stop both Sam and Mew from talking anymore. "Wait… so Footprint Runes… they're what Pokemon read?" They both nodded, and the raven-haired boy blinked. "...Memma, you never taught me how to read that! I don't even think you ever mentioned it…"
Mew shrugged, smiling sheepishly. "Sorry Ashie… I didn't want to raise you as a Pokemon. I wanted to raise you as human, so I taught you how to read Unown letters like every other humans instead."
Ash frowned, crossing his arms in confusion. "But why? Why raised me to be more like human than a Mew? Didn't you say you wanted to turn me into a Mew before?"
Sam looked confused at this, tilting his head and looking at the pink cat in surprise. "Wait… Ash isn't a Mew hybrid?"
"I did say that, didn't I…"Mew frowned, remembering her excitement when she told her child that she planned to turn him into a Mew if he could prove himself. "But even then, I was hesitant- I'd only do it if you proved yourself capable of not falling to the same traps…"
Ash blinked, growing even more confused. "The same traps? What traps? You're not making any sense, Memma…" Then he paused, shrugging. "Well, you're usually confusing, but not like this…"
"Like I said I didn't want to raise a human/Pokemon hybrid, I was very uncomfortable about it since they are more vulnerable to the shadows…" Mew sighed, shrugging. "But the book helped explain things to me, like what region I was in and about the organization called Cipher that wanted me earlier, and it even explained about Shadow Pokemon."
Ash frowned thoughtfully, before the last thing she said clicked in. "Wait… you mentioned something about you making Shadow Pokemon earlier- you didn't know about them at the time?"
"Just because I didn't know about them didn't mean I wasn't responsible. Apparently, five years prior to my visit to Orre, some of my powers tore into reality when I was defending myself against another Legendary Pokemon attack, and the rift in reality caused some Pokemon to go crazy and turn Shadow- this is probably what gave those Cipher people the idea to turn Pokemon into Shadow Pokemon. You want to know how I found this out?"
Ash frowned, crossing his arms thoughtfully. "...Yeah, actually, I would- I'm kinda curious as to how you would know that when you weren't even there at that time." He looked at her, seeing her small frown, and he hastily added, "O-of course, that's only if you want to tell me, Memma- I don't need to know right away!"
"Don't worry Ashy, we'll get to that in the story…" Mew sighed as she continued.
*Flashback continue*
Hours later, I closed the book, not seeing anything else after Shadow Pokemon. I had no idea where these humans got the sick idea to artificially close the door to Pokemon's heart, but it needs to stop before it spreads to the other regions. I then sat up when I heard people cheering loudly as a young Pokemon Trainer called 'Michael' was entering the colosseum.
Since I didn't know where to go at the moment, I curiously flew down a bit to see who was battling. There was this young boy with red spiky hair, a blue headband, yellow shirt, blue pants, and a strange machine on his arm. He threw out a Poke Ball and a Premier Ball, releasing an Espeon and a Ninetales.
The boy grinned excitedly at his opponent, who seemed to be a bodybuilder of some kind. "This is gonna be fun- are you ready to go?" The bodybuilder nodded, smirking as he released a Wailord and a Grumpig. Hmm… interesting. You know, I've never really ever stop to watch an actual human Trainer Pokemon battle before, this looks like one of those Double Battles I've been hearing about.
I smiled, watching the fight and making sure I stayed invisible so that I didn't draw attention to myself. The bodybuilder went first, shouting to his Wailord, "Use Brine!" The whale nodded, firing off a blast of sea water at the Ninetales, but it nimbly dodged, landing gracefully on the ground.
"Hmph!" The Ninetales stuck her nose in the air, glaring at the Wailord. "If you wish to attack me, you ruffian, you'll have to hit me first! Your aim is as awful as your stench!"
"Oh stop being so snobby, Ninetales- nobody likes a sore winner." Espeon said in a male's voice, rolling his eyes at her- he was obviously used to her attitude.
"Espeon, use Psychic!" that kid, Michael, ordered, pointing at the large whale.
I felt a strong Psychic power as I watched the Espeon's eyes glowing blue and an aura glowed around the Wailord. I was pretty impressed that the Espeon was able to lift the giant whale with mild ease as he threw it around the colosseum, avoiding the audience before banging it to the floor, leaving it unconscious. That Espeon was clearly well-trained- though it's not up to par with my own Psychic, he could definitely give me a run for my Poke if he wanted to.
"Grumpig, use Bounce!" the Bodybuilder ordered the Psychic Pig, and it used its springy tail to bounce up high.
The kid, Michael, smirked, pointing up at the pig high up in the sky. "Gotcha- Ninetales, use Extrasensory to send that flying pig to the ground, hard!" I giggled at the joke there, before I blinked, seeing the Ninetales do just that. I didn't understand the logic at first, but then I noticed the Grumpig looking hurt as it tried to stand up after being slammed into the ground.
"Too easy." Ninetales rolled her red eyes, glaring snobbishly at the pig as he fell to the ground, finally unconscious.
"Now, now, be nice." Espeon chuckled, shaking his head in amusement.
I floated there, watching Michael's battles. After a while, though, I found myself silently rooting for him as the kid has my respect- his Pokemon were not only well-trained, but they looked pretty well cared for and happy too. Yes, this is what I intended for humans and Pokemon- for them to get along as friends, not as Master and Fighting Pets. Then the young boy came against this strange, tall, red and white afro man who looks like he belongs in the disco era.
Michael groaned as disco music suddenly began to play from the speakers of the coliseum! "Ugh… Can you play anything but your stupid theme song when you come in for the battle, Miror. B!?" He sounded irritated, and I could see why- especially if he's faced this clown more than once! And what kind of name is 'Miror. B', anyways?
The guy just kept dancing like he didn't care, and I'll admit, this music of his was pretty catchy, despite his opponent's irritation. "Oh you irritate me so much little boy! How dare you speak ill of my music! Just for that, I'll beat you ten fold!" He released two Ludicolos, and they were dancing along with the beat of the music. "Go, go, go, my wonderful backup dancers! Defeat him, and let the music play on!"
Michael's eye twitched, and he sent out two Pokemon- a Hitmontop and a Ampharos. "Hitmontop, Ampharos, are you guys ready to kick this disco butt to the curb and get back some of your friends?"
"Yes! I am ready!" Hitmontop said, bursting with enthusiasm as he began spinning upside down on his horn.
"D-do I h-have a c-choice?" The Ampharos said timidly… yes, that Pokemon obviously has a Timid nature.
Almost immediately, the disco wanna-be ordered, "Ludicolo! Use sweet, refreshing Rain Dance!" Of course, it was apparently hard for the Ludicolos to tell which one he was referring to, so both of them used Rain Dance, which caused a heavy downpour to come into the coliseum.
Michael groaned, his spiky hair flattening against his head. "Not again! I just used the gel to spike it up an hour ago, too!" He grumbled, pointing at the second Ludicolo. "Ampharos, use Thunder while it's raining- strike down that dancing fool!"
Despite being timid, the Ampharos didn't hesitate to jump into the raining sky and have her entire body light up with electricity as lightning literally struck down on one of the Ludicolos. Since it was half Water and half Grass, it caused neutral damage, but still quite a lot, especially due to the rain soaking it.
"And now Hitmontop, use Triple Kick on the other!" Michael ordered as the Fighting type began spinning faster and faster at the second Ludicolo and kicked its face three times. That looked painful…
"You little brat!" Miror. B fumed, momentarily stopping his dancing. "I shall show you the glory of my dance with my new backup dancers!" He tossed out both a Golduck and a Hitmonlee… but they seemed odd somehow. "Time for the next song!"
I noticed a beeping as that Michael kid suddenly had a glass thing over his eye and it seemed to be showing him something. He frowned, suddenly saying, "Oh, it's a Shadow Pokemon! Yeah, I failed to get them before, but now I'm here for a second chance at them, Miror. B!"
Shadow Pokemon…? They're both Shadow Pokemon? I could tell something wasn't right, but what made them so different from normal Pokemon? When the Golduck attacked, however, I suddenly could see why it was different; there was a dark purple aura surrounding it when it attacked and it seemed to cause a lot of damage to the Pokemon it hit!
Miror. B smirked, shuffling side to side. "You think you can stop me, you super-annoying brat? You've angered me in the past, messing up my dance for the future of Team Miror! Hitmonlee, try out your new fantastic dance move, and use Mega Kick!"
I've just watched the battle unfold until Michael had weakened the Hitmonlee to the point it could hardly move- he got the Ampharos to paralyze it with Thunder Wave, then he suddenly pulled out an Ultra Ball with that machine arm of his- it looked like it was glowing a bit before he threw it at the Kicking Pokemon and when he did, the ball opened up and a hand-like thing suddenly looked like it grabbed the Pokemon the same time it caught it! This was new… I've never seen a human using Poke Balls to catch other human's Pokemon.
The Ultra Ball shook once… twice… three times… and it stopped. How? That machine on his arm…? First those Cipher guys could see through my Transformation, and now this boy has a device that can capture other human's Pokemon? This Orre region really has a lot of advanced technology…
Miror. B grumbled, glaring at Michael. "You! You DARE steal my wonderful backup dancer! Oh, I will show you! Golduck, use Shadow Rave!" I blinked, seeing the Golduck glow for a moment before shadowy energy suddenly struck both the Ampharos and the Hitmontop! Those attacks… they're not natural.
Hitmontop looked tired and soon fainted, Michael gritted his teeth at seeing his friend faint like that as he returned him into his Great Ball. "You did well, my friend." Ampharos looked tired too, but she was still standing. "Alright, you come out to help!" He tossed out a Poke Ball, releasing his Espeon again- I can tell he and that Espeon are really close. "Are you ready to fight, Espeon?"
"Of course! Do you even have to ask?" Espeon grinned, his tail waving in the air eagerly. "Let's get this started!"
"..." The Golduck just glared at both the Espeon and the Ampharos, and I frowned. This Pokemon's acting really odd… It hasn't said a word this entire battle.
"Ampharos, first paralyze that Golduck with Thunder Wave!" Michael quickly ordered.
Ampharos panted but she managed to throw out an electric purple ball at the duck Pokemon, and the static ball caused it to become paralyzed. I know the feeling…
"Now Espeon, use Swif! We don't want to knock it out." Michael said, not using any strong attacks.
Espeon nodded in understanding as he released stars at the Golduck, causing damage after damage with each hit.
Miror. B growled, clenching his fist angrily. "You! You irritating brat- you're hunting the Shadow Pokemon into extinction!" He tossed out another Poke Ball, this time releasing a Pidgeotto. "Go, and throw him off his rhythm!"
That Pidgeotto… something was also odd about it. I can faintly see the aura coming off that bird… It was rather frightening seeing so many Shadow Pokemon around here. I wanted to see more of the battle, I really did- however… I guess I stayed here too long, because someone in the crowd suddenly pointed up at my direction. How? Well, perhaps it was because it's the same person wearing that white uniform with the goggles. The person didn't shout, but looked like he was trying to secretly show that I was here or something.
I glared as I began to float away- as intriguing as this battle was, I didn't want to risk being captured and possibly transformed into a Shadow Pokemon myself. I turned and was about to bolt out of there, but when I did there was a helicopter right in front of me! I froze up. What the!? How did they- I quickly dived down, trying to get away. Even though I was invisible, they could still see me!
I frowned, glancing up and noticing the same woman from before- and oddly enough, she has pink hair all the way down to her ankles! She pointed at me, shouting loudly over the helicopter's engine, "GET IT, QUICK! WE DON'T WANT IT TO GET AWAY!"
Oh please, how is some helicopter going to keep up with me? I could easily outfly that piece of flying metal, and if it gets too close, I could just as easily blast it away too, what were they hoping to do-
"Release XD001 on that Mew! Make sure it can't get away!" I heard that woman yelling over the microphone.
… What… what's that… I'm sensing? It felt… big, powerful, and… almost murderous… I have dealt with a lot of angry Legendary Pokemon before, but whatever this was, it was very different and very bone chilling compared to any of them. As I was flying, I could see a huge shadow covering the sky over me, I was now flying in the desert, away from that tall coliseum and from other witnesses. I returned to visibility since the invisibility was slowing my flight as it uses some of my concentration to keep it up and they could see me anyway.
I frowned, skillfully turning upside down to see what was above me, a- …No way… No way! Is… is that a Lugia? It's not the same one I know… but it's definitely a Lugia… Why is it so powerful? So… so angry? Why is it such a different color? It's dark purple instead of white, it's white instead of blue, and its eyes… it's eyes were a soulless red, it was almost hard to look at them without becoming terrified. Its feet were sharper than a Scizor's slaws, the rings on its eyes were messier and longer, almost like daggers, and its teeth were sharper and its tongue was almost like an Arbok's, what could've caused such a drastic change to this poor Pokemon?
I was already more than a bit afraid of this Pokemon… but when it roared, my entire being went from scared to petrified. It wasn't a roar I could understand… No, this roar was full of anger, with no words to it- just the raw emotion of a beast ready to kill, to hunt you until the end of time and space itself… and you couldn't hide from it- no matter what, it would find you.
"Don't let that Mew escape XD001, but make sure it is alive!" I faintly heard someone say over the microphone on the helicopter.
As if those words were its cue, the dark Lugia shot out a huge blast at me! I would've thought it was the Areoblast, but it was far darker and more menacing than a regular Aeroblast was. I barely dodged by teleporting out of the way, but the attack was so powerful that the shockwave of it kept me from going far. I groaned as I wobbled in the air, trying to fly away, but it was clear Cipher and this dark Lugia wasn't going to let me go so easily. I didn't want to fight back, because doing so would just cause more problems, but if I don't, I'll be captured and probably turned into whatever they had done with this poor Lugia.
The dark Lugia, what they called XD001, turned to me and let out another dark roar- but this time, I could hear barely understandable words. "YOU WILL NOT GET AWAY, FRESH MEAT!" It fired off another dark blast at me, and I yelped, dodging it again before it got hit by a blue and white blur shooting out of the sky and hitting the dark Lugia! It wobbled a bit, glancing around angrily for whatever hit it.
"PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE, YOU JERK!" I blinked, noticing it was an Altaria, and it looked mad.
I frowned in confusion before glancing down, noticing Michael on the ground far below, riding what looked like a Dodrio. "Nice job, Altaria!" he called up to her, looking serious. "Now use Dragonbreath!"
What was that boy doing here? This is no place for a human child! The Shadow Lugia growled as it suddenly shot out twisting black tornadoes at us! I yelped, seeing the dark gust of wind swallow the Altaria up, causing a lot of damage while inside the black tornado!
"Dang it, it knows Shadow Storm…" I heard Michael hiss in annoyance down below. Then he called up to me, "You okay!?"
"Mew?" I responded to him with my, what most humans called, cute voice. Although, what I really said was, "Why are you here?"
The boy frowned, still riding the brown bird Pokemon. "Well, you look okay- you'd better get out of here, Altaria can't hold off that Shadow Pokemon for long! I don't know why it looks so different… but it can't be good!"
"Mew!" I shook my head at him, frowning. "Mew, Mew, Mew!"What I actually said was, "No! You get out of here and let me battle this Shadow Lugia!"
Of course, since he couldn't understand or most likely hear me, being so far away, he pointed up at the Shadow Lugia. "Altaria, use Mist- keep that Shadow Pokemon from seeing you!"
I gasped, seeing the helicopters coming closer, most likely to give that Shadow Lugia's orders. I could sense it was going to attack Michael directly, seeing it was looking down at him, ignoring the Mist, and powering up that dark beam it used on me earlier. I didn't want this kid to get hurt, especially for my sake, so I dived down at him as fast as I could and grabbed him to teleport away. We didn't get far, but it was enough to dodge the dark beam that could've so easily ended the human's life.
He yelped, shocked, before staring up at me. "...Wait… you're a…!" His eyes widened, and he nearly fell off his Pokemon. "You're a Mew!? W-wha- what the heck!?"
"Mew." I responded to him with a frown. "Please, you need to leave." I knew he couldn't understand me, but I needed to get him out of danger. If only I had practiced on actually communicating with humans before, this would be so much easier!
The redheaded boy stared at me in shock before he quickly recovered, shaking his head. "W-whatever… Come on, let's go!" He held up a Poke Ball, returning his Altaria. "Can you get us away from that Shadow Pokemon?"
I shook my head, for some reason I couldn't teleport us far away from that Shadow Lugia, it's like something about it was blocking my teleportation. Then I noticed it was flying closer to us at high speed! I quickly flew in front of the boy to protect him, and I shot out a pink psychic energy at its torso to cause it to lose its balance in the sky and push it away from us.
Michael stared at me in shock, and I glared at the Shadow Lugia, before turning to him and pointing away, into the desert. "Mew, Mew Mew!" What I really said was, "Let's go, before he recovers!" I was pointing at the desert, hoping he gets it.
The redhead blinked before he nodded, giving me a hesitant grin. "Okay, I think I get it… We better get out of here. Let's go Dodrio!" The three headed bird began running off as I flew away myself.
I don't understand… since when could they turn Legendary Pokemon into Shadow Pokemon? …Is that why the Legendary Dogs have been missing lately? And what about Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos? They've been away for a while too! This has to stop right now…
I flew across the desert for a while… it was already evening, the sun was going down. I stopped when I came to some kind of… rusty old train in the middle of the desert, and some people were going in and out of it. There was some water to the side. I sighed to myself as I transformed into a generic human woman and walked into the train. I don't normally turn into a human, but this could be a good chance to practice communicating with these people. I know some Psychic types can use telepathy to talk to them, perhaps I can do the same.
The bartender turned to look at me, a muscle-bound guy with a tank top on. "Hey, you lost?" I blinked before shaking my head. "Well… this is the Outskirt Stand- we're right by the border of the region, but if you're gonna be traveling, you may as well stock up on supplies here. I've got a selection of Poke Balls, too- thanks to wild Pokemon showin' up once more, they ain't gatherin' dust anymore. Ya wanna buy anything?"
Wait… there are wild Pokemon coming here now? … Huh, I've noticed the air here isn't as bad as I heard, but it was still pretty bad. I gave a warm smile, happy to hear this place was starting to have wild Pokemon. Now, how to communicate with him… I concentrate, trying to make a link to his mind. 'Thank you sir… but I'm just here… to eat… and relax… for a bit.' I tried to move my mouth along with the words, but it was hard for me to use this telepathy since I never used it on humans before.
The man blinked before nodding, absently cleaning a glass with a towel in his other hand as he turned back to the sink. "Sure, go ahead- sit down where ya like, I'll get you a menu when I'm done cleanin' this glass."
I nodded to him as I went to sit at an empty booth. There was a TV here, and I was thankful for the distraction. I've seen the human world enough to know what a TV is, and for once, I actually cared about it. The other humans were either eating, talking to each other or watching the TV like I was. I was tired, really tired, and hungry… I realized I hadn't really eaten much of anything since I got here, but there isn't any food growing around here, none that I could see at least.
Eventually, the bartender walked over, handing me a menu. "Here ya go, miss- I'll be back when you're ready, and if ya need anythin' else, let me know, okay?" I nodded and he looked at me curiously. "...Ya know, you don't talk much, do you?" I just shook my head, thankful he wasn't making me talk a lot, only when I need to will I try again. I like this guy, he looks as rough as a Machoke, but he's got a heart as kind as a Gardevoir.
Although, now I see another problem… As a Pokemon, I don't tend to carry human cash around- I doubt they'd take Poke for currency. So… how am I going to pay him? Hmm… if I've learned anything about humans, it's that usually if you can't pay for your meal, they'd let you work off your bill. I could easily do that, and this place is a good place to hear humans talk, maybe I could find those Cipher's hideout or maybe find a mirror to talk to Giratina again and see if he knows anything.
When the bartender came back, I pointed at a sandwich name, and he nodded, giving me a grin. "Alright, Torchic sandwich it is! Anythin' else I can get for ya?"
*Flashback interrupted*
"You ate Torchic meat? But didn't you create Pokemon?" Sam asked, slightly confused.
Ash blinked before he chuckled, nodding. "Yeah, she did, but Memma is a carnivore too. Although they can eat berries, they mostly prefer meat."
"Right again, Ashy! Glad to hear you've remembered that lesson. I know I created Pokemon, but I still am a Pokemon with a carnivorous diet, so yeah, even I have to eat them too once in a while to stay healthy, but I try not to eat them if I can help it- it's easier if it's served by humans though, since it's less…. messy that way." Mew said with a bit of hesitation, not wanting to get into details of her… ahem, hunts.
Sam blinked before he slowly nodded, crossing his arms thoughtfully. "I suppose that makes sense…"
Ash then heard some footsteps coming to his room… Blue must be done with whatever it is he was doing. "Oh… uh… maybe we should continue this tomorrow?"
"Alright. There is still time so I guess you should get a good night's rest, we'll continue in the morning." Sam said, yawning sleepily. "I need to sleep too."
Sam jumped out the window, landing on the bush below just as Blue walked into the door, yawning himself. "Well, better get some sleep. I'm surprised you're still awake, Ash- it's already past 2 in the morning."
"Wah? What were YOU doing up so late, Blue?" Ash was surprised Blue was still awake himself at that hour!
The brown-haired boy shrugged, stretching as he responded. "I had to take care of something, it took longer than I thought it would."
Mew, or rather Nya, giggled, nodding. "He's right, Ashy- we'd better get some rest, we have a long story to tell you tomorrow~"
Blue climbed up the bunk bed, he looked pretty tired, like he was running a marathon, and as soon as his head hit the pillow, he was as good as out. Ash blinked but shrugged before getting into the bottom bed with Storm, who was already asleep.
The raven-haired boy yawned, curling up next to his Pikachu. "G'night, Storm…" He smiled, closing his eyes and beginning to dream of his Memma, fighting against a much larger purple Lugia.
DarkFoxKit: Yeah, this is Orre from Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness. It helps tie in with the Shadow Pokemon and where they originated from. It's a little long I'll admit, but it's pretty fun doing it from Mew's point of view!
Key2DestNE: Yeah, 100%! Now yes, it will go into more than one chapter, but hey, some fun exposition for our favorite pink cat was long overdue, so I don't think any of you will be complaining!
DarkFoxKit: And if you do, especially for reasons like 'you're not progressing the story, this is pointless filler!' then we're either gonna ignore the comment or be ticked off. This isn't pointless filler and it's important to the story. A story doesn't always need 'progress' to be good.
Key2DestNE: Precisely- a good example of that is Log Horizon, where- *freezes, staring at the incoming wave of online flames* …...RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!
DarkFoxKit: Hey! What's wrong!? You said something about Log Horizon and-
Key2DestNE: It's the flamers! THEY'RE LOOSE! GET OUT OF HERE, BEFORE THEY DESTROY THIS STORY FOR HAVING TOO MUCH 'POINTLESS EXPOSITION'! *begins running as fast as he can as the flames went right past DarkFoxKit, chasing him*
DarkFoxKit: *frowns a bit but shrugs* … Well… uh… anyways… if you guys have questions, feel free to ask. I am DarkFoxKit, the running guy is Key2DestNE and we look forward to hearing from you!
