Title: Common Interest

Warnings: none
Back for eighth year, Draco approached Hermione, dejected but hopeful.
"What are you reading?"
"Hogwarts: A History. You're in the new edition, you know."
He looked away. No one would ever let him live the past down.
"It doesn't have to be the end of your story, you know," she said.
He frowned at her.
"I'd like to read the rest of it, maybe even help you write it?" She looked at him with open eyes that spoke of new possibilities.
He nodded and sat down next to her. She returned to her book, letting him read over her shoulder.
