October 2015 Prompt: Masquerade/Fancy Dress

Title: Masquerading Opposites

Rating: G

Warnings: none, "paper faces on parade. there's a sea of smiles around you." - Andrew Lloyd Weber

The ballroom was filled with over one thousand attendees. Hermione kept bumping into people.

"I'm sorry," she said. "Nice Dumbledore costume, Malfoy."

"They say one should dress as one's opposite. Since I knew there'd be twelve Harrys in here, I settled for old, insane and Muggle-loving."

"Better be careful. Thirty-five is starting to seem pretty old to our children's generation."

"All the more reason to take advantage of our youth now. Dance with me?"

"So now you're insane?"

He quirked an eye. "And maybe I'll become Muggleborn-loving next. Shall we?" And he led a stunned Hermione onto the dance floor.

A/N: Happy Halloween, everybody! Have a spooky good time.
