DarkFoxKit: Happy Valentine's Day. Well it's a day of loneliness for me, but for others I hope you're having a wonderful day, whether it's with that special someone or by yourself. Today also marks this story's two year anniversary, so I figured it would be a good time to update it. I should inform you guys that Shadows of Kanto is starting to come to an end. There will be a third arc that involves the war, as well as tying up some loose ends. Such as Brock and Misty, Ash's transformation into a Mew, Team Rocket, Blue and Yellow, all that stuff. It's supposedly the final arc in the series, but if I'm feeling up to it I can make a true sequel to the Child of Mew after that.

Also, I am getting tired of hearing complaints about how there are too many hybrids in the story. It was one of the reasons why I was thinking about scrapping the story and rebooting anew in the first place, but a lot of you guys really want me to keep going despite all these new hybrids. For those people complaining, I'm sorry to say but there's going to be a lot more hybrids. They're not going to be main characters or anything, but they have to be present because the war involves them and their Legendary parents. So if you don't like all these hybrids, I'm sorry, there's always the back arrow button if you refuse to read anymore because of it. But I've already come this far and I'm not turning back now.

Chapter 37: The Volcano Exploration

In the sky of the Kanto region, a Shiny Latios was soaring through the air, with a young human boy riding on its back, along with a Pikachu. A Mew flew beside the boy.

"Memma, you still haven't told me about this… first child you had," Ash said. "What exactly happened in that mansion?"

Mew frowned and hesitated, she didn't really seem too eager to talk about it.

"Memma… come on, you knew I would find out one day," Ash said.

"Ash, that was… a long time ago…" Mew said. "I had committed a sin when I decided to take that child in as my own."

"So you really did had a child before Ash?" Storm asked.

"Yes Storm, there was a child before Ash. It might also be one of the biggest reason for this war that's coming up too," Mew said sadly.

"We have some time to kill before we reach One Island, why don't you tell us about about it? I'm sure Ash has the right to know of a possible brother or sister he never knew existed," Blue suggested.

Mew frowned, it was obvious she was more than reluctant to tell this story. She gave a sigh before she said, "It happened almost a century ago…"

*Flashback*

I was a lot more happy and carefree back then. Sure things weren't perfect, but the Legendary Pokemon solved a lot of dispute with games and competitions rather than a life or death battle. I had heard a lot of my fellow Legendary Pokemon wishing they had children to care for, and many of them tried adopting regular Pokemon, but in the end they had to let the Pokemon go once they've grown up as they couldn't teach them a lot due to their species. Legendary Pokemon cannot change a Pokemon into a Legendary Pokemon under normal circumstances like we can with humans.

The reason for that is in the genes. I've made the Pokemon of the world, and they were not meant to be different Pokemon, their bodies would not survive if their genes were tampered with. There are a few man-made Pokemon, but they are still Pokemon and cannot be changed. Dittos can transform, but at the core they are still a Ditto.

Humans on the other hand, they were not created by me, in fact they were not made by any Pokemon. Humans are not Pokemon, their species are completely different, and for Pokemon with the power to convert an object or a separate living being into a Pokemon, humans were the perfect species. Unlike animals and objects, humans already possess intelligence equivalent to Pokemon, unlike the more instinct driven animals of the world. Legendary Pokemon's DNA can easily convert one human into a hybrid, able to transform into the species of the one who transformed them and still retain their original humanity. However, it is possible for a Legendary Pokemon to convert a human into a pure Pokemon, but it takes more work, effort and a heck of a lot more time to do. It's basically like reborning the human into an entirely new body and life altogether.

And that's exactly what I did with the first child. I didn't make them into a hybrid like other Legendary Pokemon did with their child, they were going to be a full fledged Mew. With the ability to use Transform, they could turn human using their ability as a full Mew rather than half Mew. A half Mew is incomplete, they wouldn't be able to wield a lot of powers a full Mew can, they wouldn't be able to create new Pokemon or transform into anything else as their human half couldn't handle such power.

This child I found was lost and orphaned, a lot like Ashy was. And I felt sorry for the child, so I took them in. For a long time, we played together, I took good care of them. Because they were human I knew to be gentle while raising them. They were so small and frail, but they were kind hearted and wouldn't hurt a Bug type. The Pokemon around them grew to love them, and I felt a strong bond and connection with the child. It was a few years later I decided to make that child my own. I had the power to create Pokemon from objects and animals and even thin air if I wanted to, so there's no reason I couldn't do that with a human child.

When I had told the human child about this plan of mine, they gave me a surprised look, before it morphed into a kind and accepting smile. I told them I will make them into a full Mew, they will become my biological child, no longer would they be human anymore. There is a chance, a big one, that they may not remember their human life either, they will be completely reborn. And they were okay with that. The human child laid still and quietly as I used my powers to change them. They were soon encased into an egg, a Mew egg, and the rest of the change would happen naturally. I had to wait for the egg to hatch like any other Pokemon expecting.

I stayed close to my egg… I was pretty giddy, my own child. There was a reason why I made it so Legendary Pokemon could never reproduce; we are a powerful species, we are also ageless, time had no affect on us. The world wouldn't be able to handle so many Legendaries like that. However, even I couldn't ignore the want of having and raising a child of my very own. Word soon got out that I had an egg of my own, and other Legendary Pokemon begun questioning why I have one. It started small and minor, asking if I took a Pokemon's egg for a game or something, but pretty soon it grew into jealousy that I made it so none of them could have children yet decided to make my own from a human child. I guess in a way that's what started the human adoptions from the other Legendary Pokemon.

I didn't care at the time though, to me all that mattered was my precious little mon inside the egg. I was excited for it to hatch soon. Of course… I decided to go to a secluded place to hatch the egg. It would've been wiser for me to go to the mountain to keep the egg safe, but I thought the island was a good spot. Little did I know that there were human scientists expeditioning the place at the same time. When I saw those humans, curiosity grew inside of me. The only other human I ever had contact with since they started appearing in this world was the on inside the egg I was holding. I heard one of the humans talking about experiments and cloning, but I wasn't too familiar with those terms. Then my ears perked when I heard one of them saying my name.

Intrigued, I decided to follow them silently, still clutching my precious egg. Of course… I got too close, and they almost saw me. In my panic I had used teleport to get away, but I unfortunately dropped my precious egg in the process. By the time I realized this, it was already too late. When I came back the humans were already sticking wires into it and experimenting on it. The feeling of shock and worry overpowered me, and I only watched in horror as my egg hatched into an abomination. What hatched wasn't a Mew, nor was it human, it was something else entirely… it looked kinda like a Mew, but it was much bigger, and its tail was messed up around the bottom and their color was very off. The humans dubbed it 'Mewtwo'. And in their eyes… any trace of that once kind hearted human child that I chose to become my own flesh and blood was gone… they were no different from a wild beast anymore. I flew away from that island, devastated that not only did I lose my first child while it was still unborn… I lost a very dear friend that I had cherished. From then on, I was against Legendary Pokemon adopting humans as their own child, and the Shadow Lugia I met years later only further cemented it.

It wasn't until I met with Michael did I remember that not all humans were bad, some were as kind hearted as the first human child I met way back then. And playing with Victini and Shaymin's children made me remember why I had wanted that human child as my own in the first place. I became lonely and wish to have a child again, maybe take better care of it, I had wanted a second chance. And I got that when I met Ashy. He just lost his parents to the Fearow Flock, and he was too young to be on his own, so I took him in and this time just let him stay human, to keep him safe… even when I said I wanted to change him seven years later, I was still afraid to.

End of flashback

Ash was looking at Mew, who was in tears as she became lost in her past.

"And… they're still alive to this day?" Blue asked.

Mew gave a small nod, "They were powerful and enraged… I fought with them at one point and eventually had to seal them away into a cave. The cave is now known as the Cerulean Cave, however Trainers with all eight Elite Kanto badges can go through the seal."

"Wait, how do those badges unseal the seal?" Ash asked.

"Each of those gym badges have a special power to them. They're subtle so people would suspect nothing of it, but these badges are special. They can make Pokemon obey if they're stubborn for example," Mew explained.

Storm frowned in confusion, "But why would you allow anyone to be able to get past that seal? I mean if you're going to seal off a monster you shouldn't have a key for it, right?"

"The Mewtwo they created is still my child, but I can't save them. I was hoping if I couldn't save them maybe another human will. Only the strongest and elitist will be granted permission to even try, that's why I made it so the seal will lower for the Trainer with the needed permission and condition," Mew explained.

"Did anyone ever capture that Mewtwo?" Blue asked.

Mew gave a nod before she said, "Yes… it's your old rival, Red. He successfully captured Mewtwo and is currently trying to work with them."

"Red? … I remember a very strong Pokemon in that cave… was that Mewtwo?" Blue frowned. "No wonder none of us stood a chance, and it took Red's Charizard to Mega Evolve just to stand up to it."

"I still can't believe there was another child before Ash," Storm said.

"I'd like to meet my older sibling one day," Ash said.

"That's only if Red is able to bring Mewtwo back to their senses, which could take a while," Mew sighed.

"We'll talk more about it later, I see One Island up ahead," Blue announced as the island came into view.

Ash and Storm prepared themselves for a landing as the green Latios flew down towards the island. There was a small town there, filled with easy going people. Blue landed near the volcano as that was their destination and it had less people around. As soon as Ash and Storm got off, Blue reverted back to his human self. Ash watched in awe as the big dragon Pokemon changed into a smaller human.

"Alright, let's get going and find Moltres in Mt. Ember," Blue said.

Mew flew around them for a second before she said, "The road into Mt. Ember is too hot, long and boring… why don't we make it more interesting?"

"What do you mean by 'interesting'?" Storm dared to ask.

"Memma no, this is not the time for a Mew Game!" Ash quickly said.

"Come on Ashy, I've been so serious since this sequel started, it's time for another Mew Game!" Mew said firmly.

Blue looked at them nervously, "Ash, what exactly is a Mew Game?"

"It's just a way to make the adventure more fun~!" Mew gave a wink.

Ash suddenly found himself on top of Storm, however the Pikachu was much bigger now, big enough that Ash can easily sit on his back. Storm himself was shocked when he noticed Ash was on him.

"H-hey! What is this?" Storm demanded.

Mew smiled as she floated down to Storm, "Oh nothing much, just thought it'd be fun to have you take my child up the volcano yourself."

"WHAT!?" Storm shook his head. "You shrunk Ash to make me carry him up there myself!? I'm an Electric type, not a Fire type! I don't do volcanos!"

"Well then, I guess you better hoof it! Blue and I will see you two at the top!" Mew giggled before disappearing.

"Wait! Where is Blue?" Ash looked around.

"Forget him! Now I have to survive this volcano alone!" Storm grumbled.

"Well you do kind of have to make sure I don't fall off or something…" Ash said.

The stressed out Pikachu groaned before he started running up the pathway of Mt. Ember.

Ash hung onto Storm's fur while the little electric mouse scurried across the hot volcanic trail. There were a few hikers around here, but mostly wild Fire types hanging around. Ash would've liked to get a better look at them if he weren't so busy hanging on for dear life. Sometimes boulders would fall near Storm, causing the Pikachu to freak out a bit. A Magmar popped out of the lava and made Storm paralyze it with Thunder Wave, also paralyzing poor Ash in the process. Storm ran and hid between some rocks and sighed.

"Are you okay, Ash? Sorry about paralyzing you back there. It's instinct for Pokemon who try to survive in the wild," Storm apologized to his Trainer.

"I-I'll b-be okay S-Storm… just k-keep going," Ash answered stiffly.

Storm continued his trek up Mt. Ember, and ran through some boulders, easily squeezing through them. The Pikachu panted, tired and dehydrated from climbing this volcano. Storm trudged up as he pulled himself.

"Am I… there… yet…?" Storm panted.

A shadow loomed over the tired Pikachu, surprising him. "H-huh?"

Instead of another wild Pokemon, this one turned out to be a young man in a suit. Though it was rather odd to see someone dressed like that in a volcano.

"Now what would an electric type like you be doing in a place like this," the young man said. "And what is that on your back?"

Ash gave a nervous wave, "H-hi… I know this looks weird but… we're trying to get to the top of the volcano."

The young man raised an eyebrow at Ash. "Strange. You look as if you've been subjected to an offensive use of Minimize, if such a thing were possible."

"You could say that," Ash chuckled sheepishly. "Um… this is my partner Storm, I'm Ash Ketchum. If you don't mind me asking… who are you and why are you traveling the volcano in a suit? I'm not up to fashion but I doubt most people would wear that when hiking a volcano, or a regular mountain for that matter."

The young man sighed. "I'm a lawyer, you see. A defense attorney to be specific. And my client was foolish enough to loose some crucial evidence to the case in this volcano somewhere, and now I'm stuck looking for it."

"Must be a very determined attorney to go into a volcano just to save your client then. I thought this would be police work rather than lawyer work?" Storm commented, knowing the human couldn't understand his words.

"Erm…" Ash decided to speak up since no normal human could understand Pokemon without some kind of training. "You must be very dedicated to saving this client if you're going through the trouble of coming here yourself, and in a suit no less, wouldn't that catch fire or something?"

"This suit is… special. And the reason I'm up here is that the police have jumped to conclusions about this case. All of the evidence is stacked against my client, but I know for a fact that he's innocent. But that doesn't change the fact that the police, even officer Jenny, refuse to lift a finger to help me gather evidence to prove otherwise. In their eyes, he's guilty until proven innocent."

"Wow, that must be rough," Ash said with a sigh. "I've been in a few situations like that before, thankfully things always turned out okay, but there was a lot of close calls. Oh, you never told us your name."

"And can you please spare us some water? I'm DYING over here!" Storm complained loudly.

Pulling out a flask of water, the young man smiled. "You can call me Magnus."

Ash blinked, it was like the young man, Magnus, knew what the Pikachu just said. Maybe it was pretty obvious Storm needed some water.

Storm didn't question it, instead he happily guzzled down the flask of water. Ash himself was relieved as he didn't want his best friend to die of dehydration.

"Thanks. Storm really appreciates that, Magnus. Maybe we could help you find this evidence? We're heading up Mt. Ember anyways," Ash suggested.

Magnus smiled and nodded. "I suppose. In return, I can guide you to the summit. The evidence I'm looking for is a flash drive. My client tells me he dropped it when running from a group of ornery Magmars."

Storm grumbled, "I remember running into a few, kinda paralyzed them back there."

"Since Storm and I are so small, we could probably squeezed through a lot of places you can't reach to find the flash drive," Ash suggested. "All you have to do is take us to where your client most likely dropped it in."

Magnus sighed. "Therein lies my plight. My client is not so good at identifying his own location. This entire mountain looks the same to him."

"Sounds like he has a bad sense of direction. I wouldn't be surprised if he was at the wrong place at the right time, for the criminal," Storm said.

"So you're saying we have to search the entire volcano to find a small flash drive?" Ash frowned. "Hmm… wait, maybe there's a Pokemon that can help us find it by scanning for it, it could work!"

Magnus nodded. "I've heard that such Pokemon as Porygon can interface with nearby technology. But I do not have one."

"I do…" Ash said as he looked through his Pokedex, which thankfully shrunk along with him. "Ah, here he is."

A Poke Ball appeared, but it was too big for Ash. "Uh… could you open that Poke Ball for me, please?"

Magnus chuckled. "We'll need to hope that either your condition wears off or a Nurse Joy can fix it." With that, he took the Pokeball and opened it, releasing Dexter.

The Porygon looked around in confusion. "Did you summon me?" It spoke in a robotic voice.

"Dexter!" Ash called, getting the Porygon's attention.

Dexter looked at Storm and noticed the smaller Ash on the Pikachu's head. "... Why are you so small?"

"I'm playing a certain game, Dexter," Ash said, and Dexter gave a nod of understanding. "Anyways, we need your help."

Magnus raised an eyebrow at this conversation. "How odd. A Porygon capable of human speech? How did that come to pass?"

"It's a long, complicated story," Ash said sheepishly. "Basically Dexter here is one of those special cases. But he can help us find the flash drive."

"How can I be of assistance?" Dexter asked.

"The short version, I am looking for a 15GB flash drive that was dropped somewhere on this volcano. But I know not where."

Dexter gave a nod as his eyes glowed blue. "Then I shall scan the area for it."

Storm and Magnus stood by and watched as the Porygon flew around the area, scanning every rock, nook and cranny. Eventually Dexter wander off further away so they had to follow him. While scanning, a gruff Growlithe gave a growl as it was passing by.

"Hey! This is my territory! Trespassers are not allowed!" The Growlithe growled.

"Please kindly move before I paralyze you and we force our way in!" Storm hissed back, his cheeks sparking.

"Storm! Stand down!" Ash commanded.

"They are with me, young Growlithe," Magnus said, stepping forward. "They are with me. They will not cause any harm."

The Growlithe stopped growling and looked at Magnus, it gave him a sniff before it suddenly sat down with its back straight. Ash could've sworn this wild Growlithe was acting like one of the well-trained Growlithes Officer Jenny always used.

"Young Prince! Welcome back home! Of course, I will stand aside so you can do whatever it is you need to do!" The Growlithe loyally said.

"... Prince?" Ash questioned, looking at the young lawyer.

Magnus smiled mysteriously. "Come. We still need to find that flash drive."

"Since when did Pokemon consider humans the prince of a volcano? I would've thought it'd be something like an Entei or-" Storm began to say when Ash poked his ear.

"We'll ask later, okay?" Ash hissed.

Dexter floated around a bit more before he scanned something between two boulders. "I found something! It's definitely human technology. Could this be the flash drive you were looking for?"

Magnus walked over to the two boulders and stuck his hand in there, eventually pulling out the flash drive he was looking for. "Indeed it is. Thank you for your assistance."

Storm squeezed himself and Ash through the boulders and picked up something else.

"Hey what is this?" Ash asked when Storm held up what appears to be an orange stone with a flame pattern inside it. It was warm. "Storm, did you just find a Fire Stone?"

"Is that what this is? Well I'm glad it's not a Thunder Stone or I'd be a Raichu right now," Storm said as he examined the Fire Stone in his paws.

Dexter gave an eye smile, "I am happy to be of assistance. Now I must go back to Professor Oak, we were in the middle of an important experiment when I was called away."

Ash chuckled, Dexter was definitely more of a researcher than a battler, which he can respect. Because Dexter can travel through cyberspace as a Porygon and can speak to humans, it's only natural that human scientists like Prof. Oak would take a liking to him.

"Of course, I need to train my new Dratini, Aliana, anyways." Ash smiled before he turned to the lawyer. "Hey Magnus, could you return Dexter to his Poke Ball now?"

"Of course," Magnus said, bringing it back out and recalling Dexter, then shrinking the Pokeball and passing it to the one-inch boy.

"Thanks!" Ash said gratefully as he pulled out his Pokedex to begin the switch again.

While Ash was doing so, Storm looked at Magnus. "So… can we get to the summit now? It'd be nice to have my Trainer back to normal size soon."

"As agreed, I will lead you to the summit. This way." It wasn't quite as if he was responding to Storm, but still. Something seemed off.

Storm followed Magnus as they headed for the summit. None of the wild Pokemon dared to attack them.

"So Magnus, you said you're a lawyer, right? What made you decide to go for that career?" Ash asked curiously while they were still on their way to the summit, might as well kill some time by getting to know each other a little better.

"People's opinions, prejudices, and hatreds often cloud their minds. The justice system has suffered for it. Innocent men are incarcerated and the guilty roam free. I seek to change that. At least, as much as one man can."

"Hey, maybe you could help with criminal organizations like Team Rocket get locked up, I mean it's ridiculous how much influence they have in each region," Ash said. "Do you have any Pokemon you use to help with this stuff?"

"I have a few, though most are for my personal protection. I have a Gardevoir, however, who is quite good at sniffing out liars. She helps greatly in interviews."

"A Pokemon not of this region? I take it you've travelled a lot too," Ash said.

"I have to for my job. The firm I work for is multi-national."

"Must be tough having to get around with all those expensive plane tickets humans often charge, unless you use some kind of long distance Flying type or something," Storm commented.

"Well maybe lawyers make a lot of money, right? So that's probably not an issue," Ash said to Storm.

Magnus smiled. "Any traveling expenses are paid for by the firm, though I do not ask for much."

"I'm just a traveling Pokemon Trainer, collecting gym badges, wanting to enter the Indigo Plateau league, you know, stuff most Pokemon Trainers do," Ash chuckled.

Magnus smiled. "I truly am grateful for your help. If you like, I could convince my firm to sponsor you. We do not sponsor trainers often, but you'll have a better shot at getting into some intense competitions and championships with a big name company to help fund you and back you up."

"Thanks, I really appreciate the offer, but I just want to enter as a normal Pokemon Trainer, you know, with my own skills as a trainer rather than a big sponsor, but I still appreciate the offer," Ash said with a smile.

"Oh come on Ash, you always got to do things the hard way!" Storm grumbled.

Then Ash remembered something from earlier, "Oh yeah, Magnus, when that Growlithe called you 'prince', what did he mean? Were you his trainer or something?"

Magnus continued with his mysterious smile and turned around, walking through the next tunnel. "The summit is not much farther."

Ash wondered why Magnus kept ignoring his question. Maybe he just didn't like talking about it?

Pretty soon, they came to the top of the volcano. It was foggy with steam, and very hot. Storm panted and sat down while Ash looked around.

"Storm!"

Ash nearly yelped at the sudden voice. Blue came running to them.

"Storm, there you are! Where's Ash?" Blue demanded.

Storm just pointed on his head, letting Blue see the shrunken boy.

"H-hi Blue," Ash waved sheepishly.

Blue sighed before he noticed Magnus, "Oh, hello there, I don't believe we've met. I'm Blue Oak, and you are?"

"Magnus," the young man introduced. "I've already been acquainted with your vertically challenged friend here."

"I'm grateful that you kept him and his Pikachu safe then. There was… a certain accident that caused my friend to shrink like this and we got separated," Blue said with a hint of annoyance in his tone.

"So I've been told," Magnus said. "Anyway, let us continue on. The summit is just up ahead."

"Yeah, Mew- I mean Meowth and I were waiting, but we didn't see any Moltres, maybe he's hiding in the lava?" Blue questioned.

As soon as they made to the very top, there was a Meowth waiting there. Ash knew that was Mew in disguise again.

"Ah! You made it! I knew you could do it!" Nya smiled as she jumped over to Storm and her shrunken son. "Ashy, you might want to get off Storm before I change you back!"

"Uh… Memma, you're going to do that in front of Magnus?" Ash whispered, looking at Magnus.

"Oh relax, Magnus won't blab this to the world!" Nya smiled before she took her child off Storm and his body glowed a pink aura.

Ash grew back to his normal size, and he blinked, looking around himself to make sure nothing is out of place. "It's good to be normal sized again…" Then he looked at Magnus nervously. "Uh… my Meowth can… shrink and grow people… yeah…"

Magnus smiled. "Just as I thought," he said, before giving a slight bow. "It is an honor to meet you, Lady Mew."

Ash, Blue and Storm all stared at Magnus before shouting, "WHAT!?" "PIKAAAAAA!?"

Nya laughed at their faces before reverting to her true self again, floating around them. "Magnus, meet my youngest child, Ash Ketchum. He's still human right now, but I have confidence that he'll make a great Mew when he's ready."

Magnus nodded. "I do wonder, though, why you've kept him human for so long. It is a dangerous gambit."

"Yes, I am aware of the dangers, but I feel Ashy will be in more danger if I were to turn him before he's ready. After all, look at what happened to my last child. I don't want something like that to happen again, and I must take the necessary precautions before that. Unfortunately I can't do that with war on the horizon. I take it you know of the great war coming up?"

Magnus nodded. "Of course. Memma made sure I was aware before I set off to pursue a career among the humans."

"We came here to try and recruit Moltres since we're going to need all the help we can get," Blue said. "But it looks like you're already on our side."

"Heh, I even won a Volcano Badge and everything just to be safe," Ash chuckled sheepishly.

"Why is a hybrid a lawyer? And where is the Moltres anyways?" Storm asked.

"I gave you my reason earlier. And Memma should not be far. He rather likes this volcano, and usually does not stray far."

As if on cue, a loud bird-like roar echoed through the summit. Everyone except Magnus stiffened. The lava bubbled before something large started emerging and flying out into the sky of the summit. It was Moltres, the fire bird of the Legendary trio.

"Who dares disturb my slumber!?" Moltres cawed angrily.

"I-I guess he was sleeping!" Ash gulped at how annoyed Moltres looked, and an angry or annoyed legendary is never a good thing.

"Intruders! How dare you enter my home uninvited! You shall not escape my wra- … Magnus? What are you doing here in that suit? I thought I told you to take that ridiculous thing off before you go lava diving. It may be fire proof, but it can still burn, and it's expensive getting another tailor to make one like that!" Moltres's tone shifted pretty quickly when he noticed Magnus.

Magnus chuckled and shifted forms. He was slightly over half the size of the fire bird, but still considerably large, with an overall pink hue. "I'm glad to see you again as well, Memma."

"... Whoa… he's… pink… a pink… fire bird…" Storm began to say.

Ash put his hand over Storm's mouth to keep him from laughing and saying something rude.

"So you brought guests while I was sleeping again I see. Honestly Magnus, I'm trying to be intimidating and awe-inspiring whenever humans come this far to the summit, but you keep bringing them here and it's gotten to the point they think I'm some kind of mother Pidgey," Moltres grumbled as he was snipping his son's flames as if checking for bugs… if bugs could survive fire somehow.

Mew gave a warm smile, "It's amazing how Legendary Pokemon's awe-inspiring attitude can change when they show their true colors."

"Ah, Lady Mew! What brings you and these fine people to my humble abode?" Moltres asked in utmost respect.

"Oh I was just wondering if you and your son would like to help me in the upcoming war. Right now you and Zapdos are considered neutral, and the other side can and will pursue those in neutral to their side. They are doing everything they can to get rid of me," Mew announced grimly.

"Hmm… Well I rather not get involved with war. Magnus, my child, what are your thoughts on the matter?" Moltres asked the smaller, pink Moltres.

"I'm afraid I'm rather biased in the matter. Mew's child did me a favor, you see, so I owe him. And he refused my first offer to repay it."

"I see… you've raised a fine child, Mew. But tell me… how strong of a Trainer is he?" Moltres asked.

Mew smiled, "Strong enough to beat seven out of eight of the elite gyms of this region. He even have the Volcano Badge."

"Really?"

"Yeah, see?" Ash took his coat and revealed the seven badges pinned to it.

Moltres was impressed and nodded, "It's clear that you've raised and trained powerful and determined Pokemon to make it this far. Magnus and I will be honored to join your side for this war then, but you should get the final badge first. It'll prove you are indeed a strong Trainer to the other Legendaries you have yet to recruit."

"Yeah, I was planning on it after we were finished here," Ash said with a nod. "Thank you Moltres, and thank you Magnus. Do you have a Pokegear? We should keep in touch so you know when we'll need you."

Magnus nodded and shifted forms once more, returning to the body of a sharply dressed young man, and pulling out his Pokegear. "So I take it you have already recruited Articuno? What steps will you take to convince Zapdos?"

"We're hoping that our other friends are taking care of Zapdos," Ash answered as they exchanged their numbers. "We decided to split up since we're kind of short on time."

Magnus nodded. "That makes sense," he said, putting his gear away, smiling. "If you have need of a good lawyer, give me a call."

"Thanks, and I hope you're able to prove the innocence of your client!" Ash said with a smile.

"Well if we're done here, we should head back to Virdian City and see if Andreas and Yellow were able to recruit Zapdos," Blue said.

"Right. Thank you both for your time and your agreement," Ash said as he gave them a respectful bow. "I'm sure we'll meet again soon."

"I look forward to the day," Magnus said, giving his own bow. "Until then, Child of Mew."

DarkFoxKit: Please keep in mind that Magnus is not a main character, so don't start complaining I'm adding too many big character into the story. Magnus is certainly interesting though, he's actually based off of Phoenix from Phoenix Wright. It was my way of showing how I would like to see Phoenix as a real phoenix. XD Magnus isn't even a Pokemon Trainer, he's a lawyer, but he does work with Pokemon when he needs to. And I also figured it was a good time for a Mew Game and having Ash and Storm working together again. It may not have been the biggest, or craziest Mew Game yet, but hey it was still fun. And we even get to hear about Mew's first child origins. I am DarkFoxKit and I look forward to hearing from you!
