~ Chapter II ~

(Naomi)

I woke up surprisingly fresh this morning, you know considering my broken mirror was still lying on the floor from the interruption last night which caused me to step on the glass and have a three inch cut in my foot. I completely forgot about it and didn't bother to clean it up since I was too worried about what Adrianna said.

Of course I slept on it in result of having a terrible nightmare which involved Adrianna actually taking over my body and killing thousands of innocents just to please him. Not to mention I kept hearing these howls in the middle of the night. But, what did I expect? I lived in the woods.

But, I choose to look passed that and just enjoy a warm cup of green tea while I look at the green scenery from the window. I couldn't help but smile at the view. The plants and flowers coated in a layer of snow due to it lightly snowing. The white specks coming down coating anything that it sticks to. A little over time, I'll be surrounded by a white forest.

I breathed out before getting dressed for my day. I put on a black and grey stripped sweater with some ripped black skinny jeans. I put on some blue fuzzy socks over my now healed foot since my powers allowed me to heal quicker than a regular human before slipping on some black Tim boots. Taking my hair out of its bun, I shook it up and ran my fingers through it a few times before putting on a black beanie. I topped off my outfit by putting on a necklace and a coral color lipstick.

I know that this wasn't enough clothing to get through with Forks crazy weather, but to be honest, I don't feel the cold. As warm as a toaster and I was determined to take advantage of that. Pocketing my phone and my camera, I grabbed my keys and skipped to my silver Ford Taurus.

I began to make my way to Port Angeles because not only did I hear about the malls there, but I needed some more film for my camera. After about a thirty minute drive, I got out and walked into a camera setup store to buy the film. Deciding to shop and browse around a little, I walked into one of the clothing stores.

"Can I help you with anything?" I turned my head to the friendly saleswomen before shaking my head.

"No thank you. Just looking."

She nodded her head, "Just call and I`ll help." I gave a single nod at her kindness before looking around the rack. I picked up a dark blue dress that looked like it stopped about around my knees and the sleeves looked like they stopped around the elbow area. I turned it around the see a slit on the back.

"That would look totally cute on you." My eyes flickered up see a pale petite women that was actually shorter than me. I beat her in about three inches or so. She had pixi like features with her short black hair sticking up in different directions. She sort of reminded me of a fairy. And her eyes were a golden color which was very odd. I haven`t meet anyone with golden eyes. Well, not human anyways. I furrowed my brows, and took a sniff in the air only to be even more confused. She didn`t smell human...but, her actual scent was far from a species I couldn`t place my finger on.

I smiled at her, not wanting to drive suspicion. "You think so?"

She nodded eagerly. I assume she was one with fashion. "Yeah! And they would go good with..." She looked around before a-ha-ing and picked up a pair on black studded heels. "These!" She squealed as she matched the items up together.

I nodded at her choosing. "That really pretty." I complimented.

Her grin got bigger at my wording, "Thanks. They just really made your eyes pop and made your hair stand out a bit. Oh, where are my manners? I`m Alice Cullen." She held out her pale hand for me to shake. I ignored the feeling of her ice cold hand. Maybe it was because it`s cold out and the fact that she wasn`t wearing any gloves.

Alice stared at me for a moment. A faraway look in her eyes as if she was trying to figure out something.

"Naomi Robinson...wait. Did you say Cullen? I had a lady named Esme Cullen design my house. Do you know her?" Alice snapped out of her faze before smiling at me.

"Yeah. That`s my mom. And you`re the one she was super excited about helping. Your house is in the woods on the border, right?"

I dropped my hand and tilted my head in confusion. "Border?"

She blinked a couple times, "Yeah. The border between Forks and La Push." Oh, I didn`t know I lived on a border. That sounds fun being on two lands at the same time. We talked some more as I purchase the clothes and walked out to my car. Exchanging numbers, I fid my goodbyes before riding off to La Push.

I passed a beach there and I really wanted some good shots with my camera. Especially with all this snow, I was determined to get a good shot. I arrived to the beach and I was indeed right about the beautiful winter theme scenery.

It was getting late which in effect caused an orange glow to shine on the icy blue water that rocked back and forth in a peaceful motion. The water meeting the snow every five second, bringing some of the snow back to the ocean with it and having it sink.

I plopped down on the snow infested ground, not caring if my butt would be covered in the ice. Steadying my camera on top of my knees which were bended, I snapped a photo of the picture perfect moment.

"You a photographer?" My head turned to two shirtless men who stared down at me. I had to blink a couple of times to make sure they weren`t actually wearing shirts and cut off shorts. I soon realized they were. Did they not know it was like below thirty degrees out and they chose to wear something so...summery?

The guy with the brown hair and light brown eyes looked down at me, expecting an answer which I never gave them. Wait, what was their question again? oh, yeah! "Erm, kinda. I really want to become one."

Amusement danced across the other one`s features. His dark brown eyes scanning mine. "A wanna be photographer."

The other smacked his shoulder while I stood and wiped the snow from my butt. "Paul." He hissed. The boy sighed as 'Paul' just smirked at me. "Sorry about him. I`m Embry. And this jackass is Paul."

Paul scoffed as I just smiled at them not really taking the comment to the heart. I`ve meet plenty of guys like him in my lifetime, so I knew exactly how to handle it.

Ignore them.

"I`m Naomi. The wanna be photographer as your friend likes to call me."

Embry smiled, "Nice to meet you."

I looked at their attire once more, "Um, mind if I ask why you two aren`t wearing a shirt in the winter time?"

Paul was the one to answer me, "We get hot when we jog."

I blinked, still not understanding the stupidity. "Erm...right." Okay, I`m surrounded by crazy people. Time to leave. "Er, I should go." I pointed to my car.

As I turned around, I hear Embry speak. "Hey, you should come to the party we`re hosting tomorrow."

I raised my eyebrow, "A party?"

He nodded as Paul began to speak. "You should come. " I decided that I will indeed go. Looking back at Embry he stared at me, resembling a gapping fish without water. I furrowed my brows and took a step back before watching as Paull smacked his chest with a knowing smirk. It was then I realized, did I really want to be going to a party with him staring at me like that?

"If you do decide to come, it`s here on the beach."

I blinked and furrowed my brows once more. "The beach…in the cold?"

Shrugging, Paul nods with a slight smirk. "Why not. It`ll only be for a bit before we head inside." I bit my bottom lip as my eyes flickered back to Embry who was looking like a love sick puppy before they turned back to the other guy.

"Alright…is he okay?"

"Who, him?" He motions towards his friend. "He`s fine. See you there." Nodding, I quickly escaped to my car with a soft sigh. Okay, that was weird. I have no clue why that guy was looking at me like lost water, but I think I should feel special. It was rare I got a look like that before. I always laid low and kept to myself, not wanting people to get too close to me in case they burn.

Sighing, I started my ignition and pulled off from the beach, towards my home. Well, this has been an interesting day in La Push.

"He gives strength to the weary.."

"You can`t keep doing this forever, bitch!"

"and increases the power of the weak." I continued the scripture as my eyes never leave the demonic ones of Adrianna. She snarls at me, beating at the mirror glass as she tries not to listen to me, but I knew it was effecting her. "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." My honey eyes flickered to the clock.

Five more minutes until I can sleep again.

It was natural that I had all this memorized doing this for so long. "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power."

"Father will not appreciate this, you goddamn traitor!" She wanted me to crack. To fumble upon a part so she can cease the opportunity to strike and be free, but I had an open mind and clear head. She wasn`t going to get me that easily.

A minute to go.

"But, those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint!"

I heard her growl, not admitting she had winced on the last part before the banging had stopped. I watched as she dissolved in smoke and out of my view. Good riddance. Sighing before tucking myself in my covers, and turned my back from the mirror I had only just replaced. She was tiresome, but she was me. Puffing out my cheeks, I closed my eyes and muttered a prayer underneath my breath before falling asleep. A day falling as it inched closer to my birthday.
