Chapter 11
The Rescue part 1
Back at the Mont Saint-Michel, Yami wakes up at the sound of running water. Looking up, the musketeer saw water flow into the dungeon at a dangerously fast pace. Realizing that it's the tide rushing in, that's when fear started to sink in.
On the trail that lead to a dock for the Mont Saint-Michel, Bakura and Marik quickly dismount their horses and as they got into the boat that will take them to deadly place, Malik said as he remained on his horse, "I'll return to Paris to wait for you three so I can lead you to the theater."
"All right, Malik-Pretty." said Marik as he and Bakura got ready to row as fast and as hard as they can to the Mont Saint-Michel.
"You be careful on your way back to Paris."
"Don't worry about me, just hurry and save your friend." Malik said as his horse stood on her hind legs and went galloping back to Paris. With Malik out of sight, the two musketeers rowed the boat as fast and as hard as they could across the ocean.
Within a few minutes since the tide started coming in, Yami did the best he could to keep himself above the water, staying alive as much as he could since the chain is too hard to break even with the small amounts of rust on the metal.
After rowing hard against the tough currant, Bakura and Marik land on the island and quickly ran inside to save their friend. Back in the dungeon, the tide had just risen high enough to have Yami drown. Holding his breath as much as he could, Yami let out one last breath when he felt his lungs ache from the lack of air. As he just drift in the water while the chains kept him close to the wall, Yami did not hear the dungeon door open and two guys dived into the water.
Seeing that their friend is chained to the wall, keeping him in place while he just drift in the salty water, Bakura and Marik used all their strength to pull the chains off the wall When the chains finally came off the wall, the two grabbed the unconscious teen and immediately swam out of the dungeon.
Coming up for air, Bakura and Marik pull Yami out of flooding dungeon and started to work on getting the shackles off his wrists. Using the hidden blades they always have with them, Bakura and Marik remove the shackles, tossed them back into the dungeon and started to work on waking their friend up.
Starting to regain consciousness, Yami slowly opened his eyes with his vision being blurry for a few seconds until it cleared enough for him to see his two best friends in front of him. Sitting up, hoping to get the rest of the water out of his system. Looking back up at his grinning friends, Yami said as they helped him to his feet, "But Ushio told me you two were goners!"
"Oh please, we're not the easy to get rid of." said Marik.
"Besides, we're never going anywhere..." then Bakura was cut short when Yami took the albino and insane sandy-blonde into a tight hug. Smiling at their friend, Bakura finished, "without you, pal."
"Thank you both so much!" said Yami as he hugged the two tighter.
"You know we would never abandon you, Yami." reply Bakura.
"Especially not after what the three of us have been through ever since we were kids, including back in Egypt." added Marik.
Taking out Yami's hat, Bakura said as he hand it back to him, "Now let's get out of here. We have a prince to save, especially since he's your prince, Yami."
Taking the hat back as the thought of pure and innocent Yugi crossed his mind, Yami remembered Ushio's words and said with a sad sigh, "But we're not real musketeers."
To hear Yami say that took the two by surprise that he's the one that's always kept them and things together and now his spirits have been badly damaged by the so-called captain of the musketeers. Not one to let his friends feel down, Marik stood right in the former prince's face and said, "Who says we're not? Listen, Bakura may be a thief, and you're a former Egyptian prince, and I may be insane, but we've already lost everything thanks to the plague that ran through our home.
"But surely you don't want the prince to lose everything like you did. So we will put an end to Ushio's plans and save France from such a tyrant. Nothing has stopped us in the past, and nothing will stop us now!" With a new form of determination in his eyes, Marik held his hand out.
"You are damn right, Marik!" Bakura reply and he reached his hand out, holding Marik's hand.
With the same determination in his eyes as his best friends, Yami held his hand out and held both their hands, his beloved prince on his mind. "All right guys, we have a prince to rescue and a whole country to save!"
And so, the three musketeers hurried out of the Mont Saint-Michel and returned to the main land, where their horses await for them. Quickly mounting their horses, they immediately started to ride back toward Paris. "Malik is waiting for us up ahead. So he'll lead us to the theater." said Marik as they rode on through the woods.
"Malik?" Yami asked, a little bit confused.
"His new boyfriend." answered Bakura.
To learn of a new possible alley through his insane friend, Yami simply just shrugged and said as they hurried on, "Fine by me. More allies we have, the better chance we'll be able to stop Ushio and save Yugi and France!"
