Chapter 13
Royal Musketeers
The next day, after Ushio and the masked girls got arrested for the act of treason against France and the attempt to steal the throne, once everything had settled down in Paris, every loyal subject along with the royal court and the musketeers are attending for a coronation at the palace. Taking the royal sword in hand, Yugi faced the three heroic musketeers and said with a smile and a single nod, "Please kneel."
With their hats removed, Yami, Bakura and Marik kneel to the prince. Raising the sword, Yugi said, "In gratitude for saving all of France, I hereby dub thee," then one by one, he tap the sword on each of their left shoulders as he said their names, "Yami, Bakura and Marik all royal musketeers!" With the coronation complete, the three heroes faced everyone in the courtyard as they cheered for the new royal musketeers. Holding their swords together, Yami and his best friends smile up at the heavens, the memory of the four royal musketeers that had saved them as children and that led to the start of the Musketeer Dream that the three shared for so long.
So proud of their loves, Yugi approached Yami while Ryou went to Bakura and Malik ran into Marik's arms. From that moment on, as they continue to embrace their lovers, Yami, Bakura and Marik all knew that they had a very bright future ahead of them.
And so, as the years past by, everything seemed nothing but bright for everyone. Yami, Bakura and Marik all became the captains of the musketeers for many years while finding time to be with their beloveds. By the order of the prince, Ushio was to work as the janitor of the Musketeer Headquarters while Anzu, Vivian and Rebecca were to work as maids at the palace. Whenever Anzu was caught flirting with Yami and Rebecca the same with Yugi, the two were punished by being locked in the Mont Saint-Michel where they were tortured by Bakura and Marik with Vivian being the only smart one out of the three girls.
By the time it was Yugi's coronation, the prince had chosen Yami as his ruling partner and husband with Yami still titled as a royal musketeer. Within a couple years, the two along with their best friends had started raising their own families together with their older sons training to be musketeers. With their children growing up together, they became close friends and were always together with Ryou's daughter Hiromi and Malik's daughter Miliko being the ladies-in-waiting for Yugi's daughter Princess Isoya and the same for the boys; Bakura's son Sekien and Marik's son Kyoden were advisers for Yami's son Takahashi.
When it came time for them to resign as the captains of the musketeers, Yami, Bakura and Marik had assigned one of their best musketeers as the new captain, Mako Tsunami who has also been training their sons along with Malik's daughter who wanted to be able to fight for her country.
"And with that, Yami, Bakura and Marik's legacy was able to live on in the hearts of their descendants and all of those who know of the story of 'The Three Musketeers'." Jonouchi finished reading his favorite version of the story with the crew applauding at how well the show went. Then there were a few applauders that caught Jonouchi's eyes; Mai who had called in sick was there with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders and she was with Jonouchi's boyfriend Seto Kaiba, his little brother Mokuba, her fiance Valon, Jonouchi's little sister Shizuka and her boyfriend Otogi.
Stepping off the set, Jonouchi approached his friends and sister and said as Shizuka hug him, "I'm surprised that you all are here."
Giving his boyfriend a kiss on the forehead, Seto said, "Mai had given all of us a call, telling us that you were narrating the story since she couldn't make it."
"We got here when you were telling the part of when the three heroes were fighting the masked girls at the tower and you really kept us interested with your narrating and your songs, big brother."
Approaching her friend, Mai said as she clutch the blanket closer to herself, "Speaking of your songs, they were wonderful."
"I wanted to thank you for letting me do this, Mai."
"Of course hun. I wanted to keep my promise to you so allowing you to do this was keeping my promise for you to do your songs. And since the show went so well, how would you love to be responsible for the music for all of the stories I narrate from now on, Jonouchi?"
To hear about the new possible job of getting to work with Mai as the music producer, Jonouchi faced Shizuka and his friends who urged him to accept the offer. Smiling at the offer, Jonouchi faced Mai and said, "I would love to work with you like this, Mai."
Smiling to her friend, Mai said, "Well I won't be doing any narratives until I get better. When I get back to the studio, that's when your new job starts."
"I look forward to it, Mai."
