Chapter 7

Brooke was now eight months pregnant she'd been back in Tree Hill six weeks now and she finally moved in to a new house a couple of days ago she really got tired of living in a hotel room Haley had insisted she stay at her house but she didn't want to impose with the new baby. Lydia was six weeks old now and Brooke was so happy she came home now. Her Nan was right Tree Hill is where she belongs and she was never going to leave again even if Lucas did decide to come home that was a bridge she will have to cross when the time comes.

Lucas has been in Australia a couple of months now and he's made a few friends at work but he was starting to miss Tree Hill he hasn't spoken to Nathan and Haley since he left he knew she probably had the baby and he really wanted to meet his niece but he knew he couldn't go home at least not yet. He knew he couldn't keep going on like this he had to at least try and move on.

Lucas has started writing again it was helping him get through this situation he missed Brooke more and more everyday but he knew he was too late she was with someone else it was time to realise he was never going to be with her again and it was all his fault if only he hadn't fallen for Peyton's games again. With all his moping around Amanda thought it be a good idea to take Lucas out for a few drinks with all the other workers she'd never seen anyone that depressed before and she really wanted to help. Lucas didn't really feel like going but he knew he had to leave his apartment sometime and he was in a new country it was time to at least do some sightseeing.

Brooke thought it was now time to go back to her clothing store even if it's only for a couple of hours a day she was so bored being at home and she couldn't keep expecting Haley to be there she had her own family to think about. Also Brooke couldn't keep expecting Millicent to keep looking after clothes over bro's its Brooke's store it was time she started running it again.

"Nan I was thinking about going back to work and was wondering if you wanted to come with me so you can see what you think" Brooke asked hoping she would.

"Brooke I would love to but do you think it's wise to go back to work with the complications you've been having you don't want to put your body under too much pressure" Nan said she really didn't want anything to happen to Brooke or her great grandchild.

"Nan I'll be fine I promise I'll spend most of the day sitting down and Millie will be there if I need any help. I need to get out of the house I feel like I'm going crazy and I really want to show you round Tree Hill so you can see why I love it so much" Brooke said as she got up she had to start doing stuff she just had too.

"Ok but if you're feeling unwell we coming straight home" Nan said as she helped her granddaughter.

Brooke loved showing her Nan around her home town and her shop she knew she was proud of her and what she's accomplished. Brooke promised to take things easy so they were slowly walking around.

While Brooke was sitting in the back drawing some new designs she heard the voice of her former best friend what was she doing here it didn't make sense.

"Hi is Brooke here" Peyton asked as she heard she was back in town.

"What do you want" Brooke asked as she made her way thought to the front of the store.

"Oh my god your pregnant" Peyton gasped she looked like she was about ready to give birth.

"Yeah so what do you want because I don't really want to see you" Brooke said she didn't want anything to do with her she's one of the reasons her heart is broken right now.

"I came to apologise for my part in what happened and to tell you, you ain't got to worry about seeing me anymore I'm moving to Atlanta that's where I've been the last few months I just came back to back some things and to make things right with you" Peyton said hoping she'd forgive her.

"What do you want me to say Peyton you went after Lucas when we were supposed to be getting married, I'll never forgive you for what you put me though, we will never be friends again. I could never trust you, I don't know if your still with Lucas or not or if you see him, it's going to be hard but I'm going to move on, because I deserve better. I hope your happy in Atlanta but please don't come visit me again, because as far as I'm concerned you're not part of my life anymore" Brooke said as she sat down she couldn't stand for too long.

"I deserve that but you should know I'm not with Lucas, he hates me probably more than you do I haven't seen him in months I don't even know where he is, anyway I'm going to go good luck with everything and I hope one day you can find it in your heart to forgive me" Peyton said as she turned to leave it was time for her to move on from Tree Hill.

Brooke didn't really know what to say or think she wanted to believe Peyton when she said they weren't together but after what happened before she just couldn't. How did her life get so mixed up it wasn't supposed to be like this Brooke cried as she broke down.

"Brooke baby what happened" Nan asked as she saw her granddaughter lying heartbroken on the cold floor when she left her ten minutes ago to get them something to eat she wasn't expecting this when she came back.

"I'll be ok, Peyton was here, I just don't know what to do anymore Nan I miss him so much" Brooke cried.

"It will be ok Brooke come on let's get you home this isn't good for the baby" Nan said as she tried to pick her granddaughter off of the floor.

"Nan I, I don't feel so good" Brooke cried as she grabbed her stomach.

"Ok Brooke I'm just going to call for an ambulance" Nan cried as she got up to call for help.

After dropping Jamie off at Basketball, Haley couldn't believe what she saw there was police and ambulance outside Brooke's shop, Haley ran over she had to know if Brooke was ok.

"Oh my god what's happened" Haley asked as Brooke was being loaded into the ambulance.

"Haley can you call everyone, I'm going with Brooke to the hospital" Nan said as she held Brooke's hand she'd never been so scared she didn't think she could handle it if she lost her granddaughter.

Haley knew what she had to do even if Brooke would be mad at her she had to get hold of Lucas, he needed to be here so she rang Karen hoping she would know where Lucas is.

"Hi Karen I need you to get hold of Lucas something bad has happened to Brooke he needs to come home to Tree Hill" Haley cried this was all too much.

"Oh my god is Brooke going to be ok" Karen asked it was hard living in New Zealand being so far from home.

"I don't know but it's not looking to good, she needs Lucas here" Haley cried hoping Karen knew where he was.

"I haven't seen or heard from Lucas since after the wedding but I'll find him Hales" Karen said knowing Lucas needed to go home.

"Karen what's happened" Andy asked hearing bits of the conversation.

"I need to find Lucas, Brooke's in a bad way she's in the hospital in Tree Hill" Karen cried she felt so helpless being so far away.

"Ok, I'm going to ring Lucas, everything will be ok I promise" Andy said knowing he had to get Lucas to go home.

Lucas couldn't believe when he got the call from Andy he knew he had to go home to Tree Hill he knew it be hard especially with Brooke being with a new guy but he needed to know if she was ok he couldn't live with himself if something happened to her without her forgiving him for the pain he caused her. After calling into his new job saying he needed to go home he headed straight to the airport this was going to be the longest 23 hours of his life, he'd never been so worried Brooke had to be ok she just had too.
