"Half Blood Harry Potter"

By Loki Palmer

Author's Note: Harry Potter and all related characters belong to J.K. Rowling. Percy Jackson and all related demigods (with the exception of Loki) belong to Rick Riordan. Now for some review responses …

Kalladin1989: It was a close win. "Harry Potter and the Prince of Olympus" won at three votes … the other two fanfics had two votes each, so it was close. Sorry if that's a disappointment, but that's the way it goes.

DZ2: Yeah, Jason's a pretty cool guy … hope he doesn't give Harry too much trouble, but I doubt it. For the record, I don't have any problems with Annabeth (why does Loki seem to pick on her so much?), but every now and then …

Sean Malloy-1: I would have expected the camp to attack Jason, but after Loki's defense, I think they'll have to second guess that LOL.

WhiteElfElder: I would expect more craziness … LOL.

To the reviewers bluebird397 and Lolz Dogx, I can only say thank you … join the club! If you like this story, check out some of my others as well … [wink wink].

I'm iffy about any guest reviews (since a number of jagoffs had used that feature to insult me and my work), but to the guest who left a positive review for Chapter 16, thank you for the encouragement.

Chapter 17

Ron whistled as he climbed up with his dad and siblings. "Blimey, Dad, how far up are we?"

"Well, let's look at it this way," said the oily voice of Lucius. "If it rains, you will be the first to know."

Loki cleared his throat. "Lord Malfoy, I believe your Mum called … she wants her pink ballet tutu back."

Draco glared at him. "Who do you think you are, to talk to my Father like –?"

A low growl from Loki silenced him. "Will you do me the favor of shutting your face, Ferret? I wasn't talking to you."

"You think you are so high and mighty, don't you, stranger?"

"So do you, Lord Malfoy. Lord Potter has told me so much about you … and about your failed campaign in his second year that could have killed Lady Potter …"

Lucius paled as he saw Harry and Hermione behind Loki, and they flashed him their rings.

"Ah, fighting would be inopportune at a great sporting event like this, so why don't you enjoy yourself, Lord Malfoy? Make the best of these moments …" he grinned, "… while you can."

"Did you have to scare him so much?" said Thalia.

"Dearest Thalia, that would be like asking an Ares kid if he or she has to pick a fight at all times."

"Hey!" said Clarisse.

"Just making a point, Clarisse. Dad, I hope we aren't sitting in the same box as him."

"We aren't, My son."

"Thank the gods," said Harry. "If we were, I think Loki would pitch him to his death."

Loki glared at him. "Will you get out of my head, Harry?"

"Aw, shoot! Did I make a right guess?"

Loki grinned and stuck out his tongue.

Hermione rolled her eyes. "That was mature …"

The celebration at the Olympus tent was in high gear when noises sounded from a distance.

"It sounds like the Irish have their pride on," said Fred.

Arthur came running in, his face pale. "It's not the Irish, Fred; it's the Death Eaters!"

"Mr. Weasley, you had better stay here in the tent," said Harry.

"If your Father says it's okay, Harry –"

"It's fine, Arthur. Stay here with Ron and Ginny. Harry, what do you want to do?"

"Percy, Loki – are you two thinking what I'm thinking?"

"We bring these Death Eaters a taste of the Sea Storm –" said Percy.

"– And we show them that there is something to fear?" said Loki. "Children of Ares! Are you ready for this?!"

"HOO-AH!" they said as one.

"The Children of Athena stand with us," said Annabeth. "Isn't that right, brothers and sisters?"

"HOO-AH!"

"Besides," said Hermione, "you will need us to keep your delectable arses safe out there."

Thalia cleared her throat. "Yes, quite. Harry, would you like to give a speech?"

"No, thanks. Percy?"

"Nope. Loki, you have any words?"

"My fellow Olympian-born demigods and friends, tonight the Death Eaters, followers of my brother Voldemort, have come to incite panic in the heart of the British Wizarding World. They want to remind the world that their Master's vision of Pureblood Supremacy stands strong. At best, they wish to subjugate people of inferior blood, such as Muggle-borns like my brilliant cousin Hermione here, though she now stands as the Lady of the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter. At worst, they wish to exterminate them!

Do you know what I say to this gang of Pureblood Supremacist Bigots? I SAY NO!"

"HOO-AH!"

"I SAY WE FIGHT, AND WE SEND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE BIGOTED BASTARDS DOWN TO THE DEPTHS OF THE UNDERWORLD!"

"HOO-AH!"

"Let Mother Earth shake, and may everyone hear our roar from the depths of Tartarus to the heights of Olympus, even to the starry zodiac which the Almighty God of Thunder set up in the heavens: WE ARE OLYMPUS, AND WE DO NOT SURRENDER!"

Everyone let out a roar that did just that.

"NOW FOR WRATH, NOW FOR RUIN, AND A RED DAWN! DEATH!"

"DEATH!"

"DEATH!"

"DEATH!"

Loki blew his horn, and other harmonizing horns echoed as the Camp sped off to war and glory.

With the arrows from the Children of Apollo, and the Children of Ares and Athena slicing and dicing left and right, the battle's outcome looked certain to end in a victory.

As Harry caught his breath, he said, "Thalia, where's Loki?"

"What, he didn't come with us? I thought he was interested as much as we were in this Death Eater bloodbath …"

A green curse whizzed by her, hitting nobody. She glared at the offender, and then …

A thick darkness covered the battlefield as Loki came out, cackling like a madman. Fire consumed him, turning his face into a flaming skull. Everyone froze as they saw this new horror.

"My dearest Thalia," he said in a distorted voice, "how many times must I tell you that you must have an Ace in the hole, ready to play?"

"So that's why you took your time?" said Harry. He received a nod in response.

"Did you leave any of these bitches for me to play with, Harry?"

"Go ahead."

Loki looked at Lucius Malfoy and his friends. They had pissed their robes in terror. "Lucius … you and your compatriots have tasted the appetizer … how about the main course?"

"Avada Kedavra!"

The green curse fled towards Loki, but he summoned flames to swallow it.

He wagged his finger at Lucius. "Uh, uh, uh! Who's been a naughty boy?"

Lucius and his friends ran, but bolts of lightning impeded their exit.

"Did I say you could leave? There's only one way out of here … PIECE … BY … PIECE!"

As he hoisted Lucius into the air by his neck, the fearful Death Eater said to him, "Please have mercy!"

Loki tilted his head and grinned. "Sorry, bitch … I'm all out of mercy!"

As Slayer's "Piece by Piece" played in the background, Loki slaughtered the rest of the Death Eaters he could find.

He then saw a young man walking toward him, a wild look in his eyes. The latter pointed his wand at the sky and said, "Morsmordre!"

The Dark Mark – a green image of a snake coming out of a skull – shone in the sky.

"Impressive … Barty Crouch Jr. … is that supposed to send us a message?"

"My Lord will return."

"Look up again."

Barty looked up, and to his horror, he saw lightning break apart the Dark Mark and a new set of symbols took its place: a lightning bolt, a trident, and a skull on top, while underneath these symbols were two owls and another lightning bolt.

Loki hoisted up the young man. "You go tell your Master this: I smell a Dark Mark out there, and I will kill the person who wears it! The days of the Death Eaters are finished, do you hear me? FINISHED!" He threw him down. "You run, you cur! Go tell your Master we're coming, and the Underworld's coming with us, you hear? THE UNDERWORLD'S COMING WITH US!"

Crouch Disapparated from the scene. Loki looked back at his allies.

Percy grinned. "The new look suits you, Loki."

Loki laughed, but the distortion in his voice made his laugh more terror-inducing than the maniacal laugh they were used to hearing from him. He hung his head.

Thalia approached him, her hand outstretched. "Are you there, Loki?"

He turned his head away. "I'm a monster."

"No, you are not, Loki, but even if you were, do you think I would care?" He kept his face turned away. "Look at me!"

He looked at her as her hand approached his face.

"Thalia, what do you think you're doing?" said Harry.

"Relax, Harry … he won't hurt me …"

She reached into the flames and touched his face.

"I know it has been a short time that we have known each other, Loki, but I am sure of my love for you. What about you?"

"As long as you are happy and safe, that is what matters to me. I would torture and kill anyone who stood in our way."

They said, "In the presence of the gods, I declare: You are mine as I am yours. I will love no other until Death comes for me, for this night and all nights to come."

The flames swirled around them as they kissed. Loki's face returned to normal, and they smiled at each other as they separated, but the euphoric mood was not to last …

"DUCK!"

A split second later, red curses flew over them. Thalia drew Loki to his feet, and he leaned on her as he stared at the newcomers.

One of the newcomers looked like somebody had dipped her clothing in Pepto-Bismol. "Hem, hem! I am Madam Dolores Jane Umbridge, Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic; who is responsible for this carnage?"

"The majority of this carnage is my fault, Madam," said Loki. "They deserved no less for their terrorism against innocent Muggles, Madam Umbitch, and I, Loki, son of Hades, am not sorry in the least for their deaths."

Madam Umbridge's smile promised suffering to come. "Then, by the authority vested in me by the Ministry of Magic, I pronounce you under arrest."

Thalia hugged herself closer. "NO! I WON'T LET YOU TAKE HIM!"

"YOU WILL HAVE TO COME THROUGH US FIRST!" said Harry. "Who's with me?"

"HOO-AH!" said the demigods in a roar.

"EVERYONE, STAND DOWN!"

"But, Loki –"

"I SAID STAND DOWN! If she wishes to arrest me, she can take me." Thalia sobbed into his chest. "You must stay strong for me, Thalia. I will be back for you, I promise. Can you and Harry keep my hammer safe while I'm gone?"

"I'm sure we can, Loki," said Harry, lifting the hammer, as Hermione separated Thalia from Loki and hugged her. "Do you have a plan?"

Loki gave him an uneasy grin. "Do I look like a guy with a plan?"

Madam Bones came forward. "I, Madam Bones, want you to know that I do this with the greatest reluctance."

"Fear not, Madam Bones. I do not hold you guilty for this." She cuffed him. "Madam Umbridge, on the other hand, should beware the day when she feels happy, for her happiness will turn to ashes in her mouth … and then she will know I have repaid my debt to her. Like my Father, I always pay my debts."

He then broke into song [tune: "Hoist the Colors" from "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End"]:

"You come to steal Death's Son from his friends,
You think that I'm all alone;
Your fears are mine, beware the time
I come unto my throne!"

The army of demigods beat their shields in rhythm as they sang:

"HOO-AH! Half bloods,
Blow your horns on high!
HOO-AH! Stand together,
From Death we shall not fly!"

They blew their horns in a harmonizing tribute as they watched Madam Bones and Madam Umbridge lead Loki away.

When the group arrived back at camp, Thalia looked up at her Father. "Daddy, why didn't You smite Madam Umbitch?"

Zeus looked at her. "This was Loki's choice to make, not Mine, Princess."

"It seems to me – with all due respect, Uncle Hades – he must have lost his mind," said Harry.

Hades nodded. "No offense taken, Harry, but yes, it is possible."

"Will he survive the horrors of Azkaban?"

"I wish I could say he will, Harry, but did you see how much energy he used up in battle? He was weak by the end of it, you remember ..."

"Shouldn't we try to rescue him?" said Thalia.

Zeus shook his head. "I'm sorry, Thalia, but no. This will be Loki's task, but I'm afraid he will be on his own."

"Percy and I experienced the Underworld with him, Uncle Hades – how much worse could Azkaban be?"

"Azkaban is a veritable madhouse, Harry. Do you remember how the Dementors treated you? Now that you know who you are, they will want to kill you all the more."

Hermione and Annabeth held Thalia close as she continued to sob. "Is all hope lost, Mother?"

"What hope remains that Loki will come out of this alive?"

"In a situation like this, there may not be much hope … except for a fool's hope."

Hades nodded. "I'm afraid Nico does not have the strength to wield Loki's hammer, much less his power, if the worst happens … therefore, all hopes that you will fulfill your end of the prophecy lie with Loki out in that gods-forsaken prison by the cold North Sea."

Even Apollo's sunny face had a cloud of solemnity. "In other words, Harry … if Loki doesn't survive Azkaban ..."

"... we will be boned ..." said a pale Grover. "It will be like our boat is stuck on the Styx with no paddle ..."

Author's Note: Oy, what a monkey wrench to fall into the best laid plans of gods and men this is – and quite the cliffhanger, if I say so myself! Will Loki make it out of Azkaban alive? How will he repay his debt to Madam Umbitch? Stay tuned to find out! Read and review!
