The first couple of days Jenny was away Tony was a little restless and it was a reminder of how Kelly would react every time I was deployed and I had a strange feeling that this was what Shannon felt every time I was gone. But by Wednesday morning he was fine, he woke and ran into my bedroom jumping onto my bed

"Morning Jet" he said and I smiled

"Good morning Tony! Did you sleep well?" I asked and he nodded

"Very well Jet, what are we going to do today?" he asked and I thought.

"I was thinking that we could work on our project some more before we go to the park. Does that sound good?" I asked and he nodded

"Alright lets go then buddy" I said getting him up and he was out of the room and down the hall in his room changing into the clothes he was going to wear for the day. I dressed and then made my way down to the kitchen where I poured him a bowl of cereal and put the kettle on. When he was seated next to me at the table I smiled and he beamed

"Did I do good Jet?" he asked and I checked his clothes knowing that after yesterday when he'd tried to put on his t-shirt he had tried to put his head through an arm hole and it didn't quite work the way he had wanted it to. I fixed him up and he smiled as he sat at the table waiting for breakfast. I turned back to him and he smiled, I smiled back before asking

"Tony what do you think about us going out and finding a Christmas tree so we can put it up and decorate it so that its all done by the time mum gets back?" I asked and he nodded

"Can we Jet? We could get a really tall round tree and put it in the lounge and we could decorate it with some of our decorations, and it will look so cool" he said and I nodded

"Of course we can" I said and he clapped happily.

"So do we want to work on our project first or go get our tree so we can decorate it?" I asked after breakfast.

"Tree" he said and I smiled, heading over to the cupboard and grabbing out our jackets cause it was bitterly cold outside. Zipping him in the blue jacket and helping him put on his gloves before we headed out to my truck. As we sat in the cab, I turned the heater on and turned up the radio, listening to the Christmas songs that played. Tony was singing along to the different songs and I smiled. This would be the first Christmas since Shannon and Kelly that I would be celebrating and that made me happy.

"Jet? Are you ok?" Tony asked and I nodded

"Yeah Tony why do you ask?" I questioned and he pointed at my face

"Cause your crying" he said and I nodded,

"Just remembering my wife and daughter" I said and he looked at me quizzically

"They passed away a long time ago Tony. Besides I love you and your mum so very much" I told him and he nodded

"Good cause I love you too" he said and I smiled.

We arrived at the tree park, with it being two weeks until Christmas there weren't that many trees left but there were enough to choose a good one. Tony got out of the car and waited behind the tray, waiting patiently as I grabbed my axe and the tarpaulin wrap for it. I grabbed Tony's hand and we walked up and down the aisle trying to find the right tree, we found it at the end of the first aisle and Tony was sure that it would be the best ever Christmas tree. As I started chopping it down, Tony sat on the tarpaulin chatting away happily when we heard the scream and sobs coming from a short distance away. I grabbed Tony's hand and made our way toward the crying. I rounded the corner and saw a woman maybe six months pregnant who was leaning against the neighbouring tree sobbing. I made my way over to her and laid my hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump a little bit.

"Excuse me ma'am, what seems to be the trouble?" I asked and she turned to me clearly distressed and unsure of what to do.

"I just left to go get the tarpaulin for our tree and asked my children to stay here and they've run off. I can't handle this" I said and I nodded

"It's alright ma'am, what are there names? I'll go looking for them" I said and she looked at me shocked

"There names are Chris and Lily, there twins. There both blonde and have blue jackets on" she told me and I nodded, kneeling before Tony and saying

"Please stay with this women, do not leave her" he nodded and smiled up at the women.

As I left I heard Tony ask her if she knew the gender of the baby she was having. I smiled he was always a curious kid, but certainly was the kindest of people. I walked three rows of trees seeing no one before I found two little kids sitting on the ground both of them crying. So I made my way toward them and knelt down in front of them

"Are you Chris and Lily?" I asked and both of them looked up at me hesitantly before they looked at each other

"It's alright, your mum sent me to find you she is terribly worried about you" I reassured and they nodded

"We tried following her and Chris stopped to play a little before we lost her, we tried to get back to her but Chris fell over one of the branches" Lily said and I nodded.

"Its alright, I'll take you back to your mummy" I said and they nodded.

"Thank you sir" Chris sniffed. Helping Chris to his feet after checking to make sure that he hadn't done any major damage, we made our way back to Tony and the young woman. When we were close enough for the twins to see their mum they both ran toward her. I smiled and Tony saw me and smiled too. When I was close enough she pulled me in for a hug

"Thank you so much sir" she said and I smiled

"Your welcome" she blushed and then held out her hand

"I'm so sorry, my name is Julia" I smiled

"Nice to meet you Julia and honestly it was the least I could do. Chris fell over but he seems to be alright, maybe a little bruised" I said and she nodded

"Oh thank you" she was about to start dragging the tree toward the bar when I picked it up and asked her where her car was. As she and the kids guided me toward the car Tony was walking along beside me happily chatting to Chris. When the tree was tied down onto the roof of their car she asked

"How can I ever repay you?"

"Just keep those adorable kids with you and try and stay out of trouble ma'am" I said and she nodded

"Thank you any way" she said and I nodded. Picking Tony up we waved our goodbyes and then made our way back to our own tree. I had just finished chopping the tree down when Tony said

"Your my hero Jet" and at those words I felt tears in my eyes and my heart swell with pride.
