When we got home with our tree, I carried it inside and Tony headed into the lounge. I asked him to head downstairs to grab us a bucket and he nodded running down the stairs. He returned a couple minutes later with a weighty bucket and a big smile on his face

"This one do Jet?" he asked and I nodded

"Sure will Tony" I said heading downstairs to grab some sand that I stored down there in case I needed it to mould or weight something down. So as I set up the tree Tony sat on the floor talking excitedly about what was going to happen and what he wanted for Christmas because he had been a really good boy this year. I smiled as I listened to him and knew that this was something that I had missed all those years without Kelly, but these past six and a half months with Tony and Jenny made all of that worry and torment go away. I had found the ones who had brought back the happiness and joy into my life.

"Jet do you think we could start decorating the tree now?" Tony asked and I looked down at him and nodded, it made me wonder how long I had been staring off into the distance and how many times the poor boy had to try and get my attention. As I dragged the boxes over closer to the tree I asked

"What shall we put on first the lights or the tinsel?" I watched as Tony stood back in thought trying to decide between the two and then the look of happiness he got when he had made his mind up was utterly adorable

"Lights!" I smiled and agreed before grabbing the box of lighting out and getting Tony to help me wrap the lights around the tree.

Tony and I were putting up the ornaments and different decorations on the tree when the phone rang. So grabbing it and watching Tony as he tried to put the decorations on the tree I answered it

"Hello Gibbs speaking"

"Leroy, how are you son?" I heard my father ask

"Dad, hi. I'm good" I said and heard him chuckle

"I'm not interrupting anything am I?" he asked

"No dad, not really I'm just decorating the Christmas tree with Tony" I said and I heard him drop something

"How is the young lad?" he asked and I smiled

"He's great, missing his mum but he's been really good. She's not home for another two days if all goes right with her mission" I told him

"Oh well its a good thing he has you then. Let me speak to him" he said and I sighed, calling Tony over I watched and listened to Tony's end of the conversation before I headed back to the tree to put some decorations higher up the tree. Tony was in a fit of giggles when he called me back to the phone and ran back to the tree.

"What were you two talking about?" I asked and heard my father try to stop his laughter

"Nothing really. Any ways I need to get back to the shop. I just wanted to see how you were and say that I can't make it down to see you this Christmas as I don't have anyone to watch the shop" he said and I nodded, it had been the same for the past five years.

"That's alright Dad, we'll try and work out a time to come and see you before we go back to work after the holidays"

"Alright Leroy, you just let me know when you and Jenny sort things out" he said and I nodded

"Ok dad, I'll let you get back to the store. See you later"

"Alright Leroy. See you soon" he said hanging up the phone.

We finished decorating the tree later that afternoon and then decorated the rest of the lounge and kitchen. So as we sat down for dinner that night (pizza because I wasn't really in the mood to cook) Tony was talking happily about everything he was thankful for. I listened and stored things away in my memory for what to get him. It didn't take long for him to tire out after our busy day, and as I carried him up to his bedroom I smiled as I listened to his little snores.

Following Day

When I woke the following morning it was to the phone ringing, reaching over and grabbing the phone off the hook I answered sleepily

"Hello"

"Jet, I'm calling to let you know that we are heading back this afternoon. I should be home early tomorrow morning" Jenny said and I felt my heart swell with pride

"Alright where are you landing?" I asked and she recited where she would be landing. I felt giddy at the news that she was coming home. I had missed her so much whilst she was gone. As had Tony. When I heard the all too familiar voice asking for more change to be inserted into the machine I frowned

"I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow Jet" she said and I nodded

"I love you Jennifer" I said just before the dial tone sounded. Sighing I decided to get up and shower.

Tony was in the lounge playing when I made my way into the kitchen to prepare our breakfast. He looked up and smiled

"Morning Jet" I smiled back

"Morning Tony, what do you feel like for breakfast?" I asked and watched him thinking

"Waffles" he squealed excitedly

"Alright waffles it is" I said as he continued to play and I made a start on making the batter. I was off in my own little dream world when Tony asked

"Jet who was on the phone before?" I turned around and looked at him, he looked so innocent and intrigued. I smiled

"It was mum" I answered and the brightest smile spread across his face

"Really?" he questioned and I nodded

"Really, really. She rang to say that she'll be in tomorrow morning. And we'll get to go to the airport and pick her up" I said and he beamed happily. He jumped to his feet and ran around in circles making a little song about the fact that his mum was coming home. Chuckling at his antics I turned back to the task at hand.
