"Half Blood Harry Potter"

By Loki Palmer

Author's Note: Harry Potter and all related characters belong to J.K. Rowling. Percy Jackson and all related demigods (with the exception of Loki) belong to Rick Riordan.

DZ2: Oh, yes, Krum would become a human lightning rod IF he tries to get too close to Hermione … a big IF …

WhiteElfElder: Why was Loki looking so nervous? Like Hermione said to Harry, his guess was as good as hers on that subject …

Chapter 27

As the Durmstrang students sat down at the Slytherin table, Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle breathed a collective sigh of relief. The farther away they were from Loki and Thalia, the better.

"Те ведьмы французские не знают смысл зимы," (Those French witches don't know the meaning of winter), said an unnamed student. "Эта погода лето наше." (This weather is our summer.)

The Dumstrang students nodded with superior smirks on their faces, but the smirks died when Loki said, "И думаете вы цари холода? Зима ваша ничто Преисподней." (And you think you are the kings of cold? Your winter is nothing to the Underworld.)

Viktor Krum said, "You must be infamous Loki, da?"

"That's my name, don't wear it out. And you must be the Quidditch star, Viktor Krum?" Viktor's eyebrows rose. "I saw you playing at the Quidditch World Cup. I may not care for sports much, but that was a sweet game to watch."

Krum waved it off. "Ah, but Irish team better overall. It prime example to show that winning Golden Snitch not enough to win game; it group effort."

"Well said, Viktor, well said. Teamwork is important to accomplish any mission."

"Ah, but my English … not good. I can speak better German."

"Ist das wahr?" (Is that so?) Viktor nodded. "Sehr gut … sprechen Deutsch gefällt mir ..." (Very good … I like speaking German …)

"How many languages do you know, Loki – besides English?" said Daphne.

"I know a fair number of them, Daphne … Ancient Greek, French, German, Chinese, some Russian ..."

"Why are you feeling so glum, Percy?" said a redhead next to him.

"Oh, the Sorting Hat placed me here in Hufflepuff, while Annabeth is in Ravenclaw."

"The Sorting Hat places us where it feels we are best suited," she said. "Perhaps the Sorting Hat saw your loyalty was your prime feature, so it placed you here. My name is Susan Bones."

Percy thought for a few seconds. Why does that name sound so familiar? "Say, are you any relation to Madam Amelia Bones?"

Susan nodded. "She is my Auntie … she has taken care of me ever since my parents died to Voldemort's forces a fair number of years ago. She rose through the ranks to become the Head Auror of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement."

"Ah, you mean like a policeman?"

"Yep. With the exception of Mad Eye Moody, you will not meet a fiercer fighter within the DMLE."

Percy shivered at the way he could see Moody's artificial eye zooming around.

"Oh, if it makes you feel any better, Hogwarts pairs its Houses together for classes like so: Gryffindor pairs up with Slytherin, and Hufflepuff pairs up with Ravenclaw."

Percy smiled. "Well, I guess that does cheer me up some." He looked towards the Ravenclaw table, and Annabeth shot him a smile. Oy, gods, that smile warms up my insides … he thought.

"So, Harry," said Ron, "this Loki character … he seems rather interesting for a snake, doesn't he?"

"What's that supposed to mean, Ron?"

"He slaughtered all those Death Eaters, and now he joins their House? I will admit, I enjoy the sight of a scared Malfoy as much as anyone else, but what kind of power could do that?"

"Well, his Father is someone who is interested in Justice, so it could be that the Darkness within the House cowers from the Light that is within him ..."

"Or it could be that he is so Dark that the Darkness within the House cowers because he is going to replace it with something worse," said Ron.

"While we have reason to doubt your hypothesis, Ron," said Hermione, "either way we slice it, we can agree on this: you do not want to find Loki's bad side."

"Oh, yeah, Hermione? Would you care to tell me why not?"

(He did not see Loki looking towards him with an amused smile as the young Creepshow thought, Release the evil …)

Within seconds, Ron's food came together into a blob that ate him, then spit him out, much to everyone's amusement.

"That would be why," said Hermione.

One of the Beauxbatons students walked up to the Gryffindor table. "Seigneur Potter, avez-vous fini avec la bouillabaisse?" (Lord Potter, have you finished with the bouillabaisse?)

"Vous en voudriez plus? Allez-y et prenez-en, s'il vous plaît." (Would you like more? Please, go ahead and take some.)

She smiled at him and took some bouillabaisse from the table, then curtsied to him with a "Merci" as she walked back to her schoolmates at the Ravenclaw table.

Harry, Hermione thought, since when did you know French?

Well, you know French, right? I think what you know, I know, and vice versa … wow, this marriage Bond is wonderful, isn't it? Imagine … we can learn information twice as fast! My thanks to Aphrodite and to the rest of the gods for this wonderful blessing …

As if in response to his prayer of thanksgiving, a dove came into the Great Hall, alighted on his shoulder, and nuzzled his cheek as a musical voice said to him, You are more than welcome, you handsome, adorable, hero!

The dove disappeared in a powerful blast of perfume that sent many Gryffindor males, including Ron, into a faint.

Hermione?

Yeah, Harry?

Correct me if I am wrong, but Logic tells me that there would be a connection between these fair female students of Beauxbatons and Lady Aphrodite.

Perhaps they could be demigods, like we are? I think it is possible …

As Loki stroked his chin, Thalia said to him, "Drachma for your thoughts, darling?"

"It is most bizarre, Thalia. I do not smell a single Dark Mark within the Great Hall."

"That is a good sign, right? It would mean you do not have to kill anyone here."

"What about Headmaster Karkaroff, or Professor Snape? I would think the both of them would have their Dark Marks, even tonight, but I'm finding bupkes on that count. The sole person who could remove their Dark Marks would be my brother … or … wait a cotton pickin' minute here … Father?"

"What excuse in all of Olympus would He have to do this, when we consider His interest in Justice?"

"I know not, Thalia, but … θεοι αθανατοι!"

"What is it?"

"Look right above Professor Snape's head, Thalia!"

What both of them saw made their jaws drop in amazement: a bouquet made of spring flowers …

Author's Note: And the plot thickens some more with another fun chapter. Read and review, and regardless of whether I post again or not before Christmas and the New Year, have a Merry Christmas 2015 and a Happy New Year 2016!
