"Half Blood Harry Potter"

By Loki Palmer

Author's Note: Harry Potter and all related characters belong to J.K. Rowling. Percy Jackson and all related demigods, with the exception of Loki, belong to Rick Riordan.

WhiteElfElder: Hey, even if Loki let the bomb blow up as a surprise, who is to say Moldyshorts would not sense it coming? Given the prophecy, I don't think the Dark Dork would die in a bomb blast. It would be convenient if he did, but … no. Quod scripsi, scripsi. Ογεγραφα, γεγραφα. What I have written, I have written.

To author benlewisas: As far as I am aware, this fanfic does not go all the way through the Percy Jackson series. Sorry to disappoint, but I hope you enjoy it all the same.

DZ2: Why, of course Harry's enemies are courting Death. Valar morghlis and all that jazz.

Chapter 43

"Perhaps, my Lord, we do not need to move?"

"Explain yourself, Castellan."

"My Lord … if Loki can find us here, shouldn't it stand to reason he can find us anywhere? To where would we move?"

Voldemort stroked his chin in thought. "I was thinking of Malfoy Manor. I am sure Lucius has keyed me into the wards."

"Who's to say that Loki has not added in a few nasty surprises there? For instance, what if he left another bomb that could risk blowing us sky high yet again? We seem to be lucky to have escaped one bomb; who is to say we could survive it again? Call me a coward if you will, my Lord, but I would much rather be an alive coward than a brave ghost any day of the week. I do not want to die, but more than that, I do not want you to die. You and Lord Kronos are my only hopes to bring Olympus to its knees, my Lord."

"You have made a fair point, Castellan, and we must do what we can to think ahead of our opponents."

"Allow me to make another point, my Lord. If Loki has blown up your Manor, he cannot blow it up a second time. As it so happens, the last time I stopped by the Camp on my mission … I packed up my tent." He pulled out said tent, erected it, brought Voldemort within and seated him in a chair.

"Well … it beats being exposed to the elements, Castellan. What was this mission?"

"It was a mission Lord Kronos authorized, my Lord. It was to strike at the heart of Camp Half Blood. By this, I mean the protective barrier your Uncle set up at the base of Thalia's tree. With that protective barrier gone ..."

"... Camp Half Blood would die to attacks from the outside. Well done. You have halfway won this war for us ..."

"Thank you, my Lord … this war should be easier to win, when we consider the Golden Fleece is difficult to find."

"The what?"

"The Golden Fleece … it boasts incredible healing properties … my Lord … if we can reach it first, we can merge you and Lord Kronos that much faster … though we will have to make a pit stop first … though I doubt you will like it ..."

"Why do you say that, Castellan?"

"My Lord … it is at the River Styx … the boundary of the Underworld ..."

Voldemort frowned. "You are right, Castellan. I do not like it in the least. What advantage should we hope to gain by approaching so close to my brother's home turf, as it were?"

"Well, my Lord, if the River Styx grants you Her blessing, you will become near to invulnerable."

"I like the word invulnerable. Explain the qualifier near to."

"If the entire body of the supplicant goes under the River Styx, the supplicant will die. There must be a point on your body – of your own choosing, my Lord – that will link you back to the land of the living."

"Is there anyone who has done this?"

"Yes, my Lord. The most famous example is Achilles. His nurse dipped him into the River Styx by his heel ..."

"Ah, yes … hence the famous saying of the Achilles heel, or the weak spot."

Luke nodded. "Yes, my Lord. Another advantage this blessing should give you is it will enable your body to host the power of Lord Kronos. A normal mortal body would burn into ash under that level of power."

"Hmmm … I still do not like the idea … but what other choice do we have? Let us go, before I change my mind."

Loki got up from his seat. "Well, I reckon it's about time we hit the dusty trail back to Hogwarts … whoa …"

His balance swerved to the side as he got up, and he would have fallen if Mutt had not run to catch him.

"Master! Is Master okay?"

"I don't see why not, Mutt … thanks for catching me …"

Mutt guided his Master to a seat.

"Loki … with all due respect, cousin, you don't look too good," said Harry.

"In fact … you look paler than usual," said Hermione.

"What are you talking about, Hermione? I feel I am in tip top shape …" Loki tried to get up, but Hermione and Annabeth grabbed him by the arms and shoved him back into his seat.

"Sit – your – stubborn – tuchas – down," they said to him in stereo.

Loki tilted his head to the side. "Would you care to explain why, before I lose my temper?"

"There is something wrong, Loki," said Annabeth. "I doubt it is because you are drunk, but something is not right in this picture. When was the last time we knew you to swerve like this?"

"Drunkenness would have been my first guess, but your body seems to break down alcohol at a faster rate than most demigods, with the possible exception of Mr. D's kids," said Hermione. "In short, you never seem to get drunk. So the question arises: what else could cause this?"

"That would be an excellent question, Hermione," said Nico as he, Jason, and Tyson came into the room. "Thank the gods we could find you at last."

"Why do you say that, Nico?" said Harry. "What's wrong at Camp Half Blood?"

"The magical barrier around the Camp broke at last under attack from a Colchis Bull," said Jason. "Luke weakened the barrier just enough for it to crack."

Loki dreaded the obvious question and the answer he knew would come, but he asked it: "How did he do that?"

"He poisoned Thalia's tree!"

Hermione saw Loki trying to get up again and she pointed her wand between his eyes as she sat sideways on his legs. "No, Loki; stay right there. You are in no state to go anywhere."

"You expect me to sit right here while Thalia cries out to me for vengeance, Hermione?"

"I expect you to save your strength, Loki; can you not see the bloodthirst you have now is clouding your sense of reason?"

"SHE IS YOUR FRIEND, HERMIONE!"

"I KNOW SHE IS, AND SO ARE YOU!" A brief moment of shocked silence followed her outburst. "Given the Bond between you both, her comatose state has the double whammy of weakening you – that must be why you are wobbling so much on your feet when you get up, or try to do so."

"Long story short, My son," said Hades, who had walked in during Hermione's explanation, "you need to rest to save your energy, lest you go end up drinking your friends' blood to replenish it."

Hermione looked between Loki and Hades in horror. "You mean like a vampire, Lord Hades? Loki is not a vampire!"

"No, Hermione, Loki is not a vampire, but where else but the Underworld did you think was the source of all the legends of vampires, hmm? The fortunate news is this drinking of blood happens only in the most desperate of circumstances. It is an exception for My kids, so you can rest your minds easy about that."

Loki grinned at Hermione. "Are you scared I might bite? Don't worry; I don't bite … hard …"

Before he could blink, a Banishment Jinx from Hermione sent him flying to hit the wall with a WHAM! From there, he fell to hit the floor.

He looked up. "I'm pretty sure I deserved that … me and my big mouth …"
