Robin could feel eyes upon on him, something was watching. A shiver was sent down his spine as he looked up to the almost impossibly high ceiling. While there was moonlight illuminating the dusty floor of this sinister place, the ceiling was still blacker than night. It was like looking up into a vast well of liquid tar, making him feel insignificant in comparison. "We should move before more creatures come to investigate that screeching sound." Robin told the others, shortly before everyone heard something above them. It sounded like something sharp being scraped against stone.

Janus looked up to the ceiling, wondering what kind of horror was clinging to the ceiling. "Leeeeet's move... quietly..." The blaziken quietly said to the others as crept towards the stairs.

Hilda walked with the others, heading up the stairs, but she suddenly halted when she saw something crawling down the wall. The creature was long, resembling a black scolipede. Much like every other foul being in this place, it had been changed, warped into something else. Over fifty legs moved it down the wall that was at the top of the staircase. It's entire length was eighteen feet. It had a large open mouth with two large black inward curving fang-like mandibles. It was not only an effective weapon, but how it shoved flesh into its dark maw. Clear watery venom dripped from the intimidating mandibles it possessed. The eyes of the scolipede were blacker than black. "Look out!" She yelled as a huge centipede-like beast made its way from the wall, and onto the stairs. It lunged for all four of them, about to devour them.

The gallade stood his ground, and shoved his halberd straight into the giant centipede's strange maw. The large steel spike cut through the flesh, causing the demonic insect to let out a loud screech. "A little help here would be great!" He yelled out to the others.

Hilda raised her short sword, completely grossed out by its many legs, but she pushed on. She rammed the tip of her short sword into its black shiny back, but the blade didn't penetrate it. The skin was too thick. "Fucking thing!" She angrily yelled before then taking a swipe at the creature's legs, severing three of them in a row. Dark green blood started spraying forth from the severed limbs as the creature tried to bite at the metal that was shoved into its altered maw. "The body is tough but the legs aren't!" Hilda yelled.

Thea used her telekinesis on her mace, forcing her weapon to smash right into the eyes of the warped scolipede. The sharp spikes of her morning star pierced the eyes, and the force coming from the sheer force of the swing caved in the eye sockets. As soon as the eyes were ruptured, black slurry oozed from the smashed eye sockets. "It's blinded!"

Robin was pushed backwards by the beast, loosing his footing as the scolipede stupidly tried pursuing the gallade. Almost the entire end of his halberd was in the scolipede's mouth. Robin tripped up, his foot missing the last step, causing him to fall back first onto the hard stone floor. Even as he fell down, he kept a tight grip on his halberd. He watched in horror as dark green blood spewed from the scolipede's mouth as it made a sickly gagging noise. "Shit!" The gallade yelled as he let go of the halberd and rolled out of the way. He was almost trampled to death by the scolipede's many legs.

Janus watched as the creature went on a blind rampage, running around with that halbard still stuck in its mouth. The blaziken knelt down on one knee as he took aim, drawing the arrow all the way back. "Loose." He whispered to himself as he sent the arrow flying right towards the creature's head. It entered through the right eye socket that was already weakened by Thea's blow, allowing it to slip through the cracks of the bone. The sharp metal tip pushed through the severed nerves of the eye to bury itself deep inside the scolipede's brain. Instead of just dropping dead however, it went out of control, falling all over the place. It was hard to tell if the erratic movement was due to the arrow to the brain, or the severed legs. The scolipede writhed wildly, thrashing around blindly before then feeling something brushing against it. The scolipede then began slamming its head against a big solid column again and again, breaking the arrow that was lodged inside the eye socket. Over and over again, the sickening sound of flesh and bone smacking against the wall rang out again, and again, and again. The skull eventually collapsed in on itself, causing the altered scolipede to slide down the column before collapsing to the ground, dead.

Robin walked over to the dead scolipede to pull his halberd out of the mouth of the beast. "I have never fought anything like that before. This thing isn't just undead, it has been changed." He said as he took a closer look at it. "What could possibly make a scolipede double in size and sprout extra legs?"

"Magic of the foulest sort." Thea said as she held her mace in one hand, looking down to the changed thing.

Janus shook his head for a moment. "Can magic really do that? I mean that seems just weird." The blaziken said before sighing, realizing he wouldn't be able to recover his arrow this time.

"Whatever caused this, let's kill the bastard, grab the gold and get out of here." Hilda said to them, not wanting to stand around and give these things another chance to pounce on them.

Robin tried shaking the green blood off his blade, trying to get it off so it doesn't slide onto the shaft of his weapon. "Let's hope that whatever made these things are long gone..."
