Naruto was quietly walking in the house he was looking for his friends in. It was quiet. Too quiet. He was almost tempted to just leave, but he knew that Sasuke would try to be as silent as possible in case an enemy entered the house they were currently staying in. He was hoping to finally find them, seeing as it had been two days now that he had left that note/letter. Honestly, he wanted it to be a note at first, but knew that it ended up being a letter. A depressing one at that, but he couldn't help his emotions at that time. He sighed quietly as he shook himself from his thoughts, cringing when the top step creaked. It was incredibly loud in the deathly silence. Naruto closed his eyes as he sighed in relief, but regretted it instantly as a deadweight threw itself on top of him, throwing them both down the stairs.

The blond grunted all the way down, trying to be careful so as not to break his neck or gain any other severe injuries. Once they landed on the floor, the thing moving, climbing back on top of him, he struggled. Naruto instantly knew what it was he was fighting the moment a horrible burning spread throughout his body, starting at his shoulder. Naruto couldn't help the scream that ripped out of his throat when the burning intensified. Naruto struggled under the weight of the monsters body on top of him, barely managing to grab his weapon and kill it. The body slumped forward, all of it's weight now on his smaller body. Groaning, Naruto shuffled out from under it, panting loudly. He absently touched his right shoulder, cringing at the pain. He pulled his hand back to see it stained in a sticky red liquid. Blood. His blood. He was bitten.

Hinata could barely sleep, her thoughts not wandering from Naruto. She was worried, and she could see Sasuke was, too. He was laying on his back, both arms behind his head as he stared up at the dark ceiling. Hinata was laying next to him on her side, staring up at his face, though they both were mostly too lost in thought to notice. Hinata sighed and turned around, her gaze now resting on Karin and Suigetsu. Karin was laying next to the man on her back, a small blanket covering her form. Suigetsu gave a mighty snore before he turned onto Karin, shuffling slightly before settling down once more, practically laying on top of the redhead. Hinata giggled, finally gathering Sasuke's attention. He turned onto his side, wrapping one arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him. He smiled at the sight of Karin and Suigetsu before he moved closer to Hinata, burying his face into the back of her neck, both of them finally able to fall asleep.

He stumbled into the large tree, sweating heavily as he panted harshly. He was already in pain from the illness that followed the bite. Naruto was near tears, hoping against hope that he could see Hinata and Sasuke one last time. Naruto took a moment to gather himself before he slowly started to climb the tree. Once on the top, Naruto walked to the mattress that was in the corner of the room and collapsed onto it, panting harshly as he started to make pained noises. Naruto attempted to turn onto his back, but flopped back down onto his stomach when the pain in his shoulder was too much. Naruto turned his head to face the door, his narrowed eyes staring at the entrance before he fell into unconsciousness, his blue eyes rolling into the back of his head.

Hinata nearly tripped on a root as she lead their small group through the forest. She and Naruto had gone there so much, that she knew the path by heart. She walked slowly as she was plagued by childhood memories of her and the blond spending a lot of time in the lush, green forest. It used to be so bright and happy back then, but now, it was dark and loomy. The forest had once been her sanctuary, but now, she feared going in. She pulled herself out of her thoughts once they reached the base of a massive tree, holding the tree house Naruto had instructed them to go to.

"Alright, this is it. Please be careful when you climb the tree," Hinata said as she turned to look at them.

The other four looked at her sceptically, not sure if it was even possible to climb the tree. Hinata smiled at them before turning back to the tree and started to climb it skilfully.

Shrugging, Sasuke followed, being sure to copy her exact movements. Hinata stood, waiting at the top, helping everyone get to the top safely. Once they were there, Hinata turned to the entrance of the small house.

"Naruto?" She whispered as she stepped inside.

Hinata gasped at the sight of the pale, sweating blond, rushing to his side quickly, followed closely by Sasuke.

"Naruto!" She yelled as she touched his sweaty forehead.

"Naruto?" Sasuke asked, touching Naruto's left shoulder.

The blond's face scrunched up before his eyes fluttered open.

"S-Sasuke?" He whispered.

"What have you gotten yourself into now?" Sasuke asked, attempting to laugh jokingly, but it came out obviously forced.

"Help me up," Naruto ordered.

Sasuke gestured Juugo closer to help them. Naruto cried out in pain as they forced him into a sitting position. Naruto breathed heavily as he looked at them with pained eyes. Hinata felt tears gather in her eyes as Naruto's right shoulder now faced her. His shirt was completely soaked in blood and torn there where he was bitten.

"Naruto," Sasuke said in disbelief.

"I'm sorry guys. I was looking for you, I had to find you, but, I was bitten," Naruto said, voice breaking as tears started to fall down his cheeks.

"Oh, Naruto," Hinata whispered as she started to cry.

Sasuke felt his own tears gather, but he forced himself not to cry, he couldn't afford to, not right now.

Hinata sat by his side, holding his hand as Naruto sunk down, laying on his back.

"Sasuke, you have to take care of Hinata, okay?" Naruto said, trying to fix him with a pointed stare.

"You know I will, you idiot," Sasuke answered, smiling a small smile.

Naruto managed a broken laugh, but it faded after a few moments.

They sat there, watching as Naruto slowly fell asleep, into his death.

"At least I got my last wish," Naruto whispered, just before he lost consciousness for the last time.

"What's that?" Hinata asked as she whipped away some of her tears.

"I got to see you guys again, one last time," Naruto's words grew quieter and quieter until he was completely silent.

Hinata bowed forward, eyes clenched shut as she cried. Sasuke fell back, resting against a wall, staring into space, unwilling tears falling down his cheeks.

Hinata held tightly onto his hand, but she was now resting against the wall, a blank look on her face. They were silently waiting for Naruto to die, only then will they kill him. They were so distracted by their thoughts, that they didn't notice Naruto's breathing stop. Minutes later, his eyes snapped open. His once ocean blue eyes were now a dull and ugly yellow. A colour many had seen as they died, and it will be the last thing they saw, too. Naruto unexpectedly lunged forward, surprising them all, but it cost them dearly. He bit into Hinata's throat, instantly silencing her screams as he ripped her throat out.

"HINATA!" Sasuke screamed in despair.

Suigetsu, moved, grabbing a weapon to kill the zombie, but tripped over a rug, the knife he held stabbing into his eye, killing him instantly.

It was Karin's turn to scream in despair as she blindly attacked the zombie that was still chewing on a piece of Hinata's flesh. Sasuke watched with wide eyes as Hinata gasped silently before stilling completely. Karin wrestled briefly with Naruto before he bit her as well, though he was tackled to the ground by Juugo. The larger male fell, rolling far too quickly to the side, falling from the edge of the tree house. He landed on his head, viciously breaking his neck in the process. Naruto slowly got to his feet, staring at Sasuke with those eyes that just didn't fit. It wasn't right. Sasuke scrambled to his feet as Naruto made a grab for him. He was pulled into the blond's in humanly strong grip. They struggled. Sasuke risked letting go and grabbed the gun. Naruto bit viciously into his wrist on the arm that was still holding him back.

Sasuke screamed in pain, but it wasn't physical. He shot his best friend in the head, blood and brain splattering onto the walls. Sasuke watched as Naruto fell limply to the floor. Sasuke collapsed onto his knees, gun still held in one hand as he pressed them to his eyes, screaming once more. He was crying and screaming, having just lost everyone he ever cared for. He felt a hand on his shoulder, but knew that it was Karin. She had been bitten on the upper part of her lower arm. She was also crying, but wanted to comfort him.

"S-Sasuke, y-you have to-" she cut herself off as she touched the gun.

Sasuke took a few deep breaths, calming himself slightly. He looked up at Karin's tear stained face, and nodded. Shakily holding up the gun, he pressed it to her forehead.

"I'm so sorry," he whispered.

Karin managed a smile before he pulled the trigger. Quickly standing, Sasuke aimed, clenching his eyes shut as he pulled the trigger again, shooting his girlfriend in the head. He quickly moved to the edge of the tree house, noticing that Juugo was miraculously still alive. Sasuke cried as he pulled the trigger again, killing the older male. Sasuke collapsed, only then noticing how severely his bite was bleeding. He stared ahead, tears falling freely. He had lost everyone, in a matter of moments, everyone he cared for died. How did this even happen? How was he the only one alive out of all of them? Sasuke shook as he raised the gun to his temple, clenching his eyes shut as he thought of all his happy memories with his friends. Every single one of them had died. He sobbed one last time as he pulled the trigger.
