Hey everyone! I know, it's been like two months or something since I last updated. I'm so sorry but school has become so much harder since last year and I'm trying to update other stories as well.
In addition, we finally got our new internet and I was busy catching up on some much needed Yu-Gi-Oh! I finally got around to watching the Abridged series and it is epic! I got addicted almost immediately! I also finally got around to making an account on the Dueling Network and I've been doing that for the past couple of days!
*ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION!*
IDEA! Lately, I went back and watched season 3 of GX. I realized that without a fourth dubbed season the ending is a bit dissatisfying. Well for everyone I've asked it is. I know, you can watch season 4 with subtitles but I've decided to write a season 4 that ends the English version. It would still include Nightshroud (or Darkness) and Trueman but would include some other things as well. I've also decided to use said elements from my discontinued 'Rise of the Society of Light' and 'Rise of the Planets.' It will truly be epic and I'm going to begin work on it. It probably won't be out for a while but I wanted some of you to check out the sort of plot for it and tell me what you think.
It's been a few months since Jaden vanished after fusing his soul with Yubel. As the gang return for their final year at the academy and try to move on, they find a new evil is at foot. Jaden mysteriously returns, now fully embracing his destiny as the Supreme King with Yubel by his side and faces the return of the Light of Destruction and a new threat that has been manipulating things from afar since the beginning. Jaden and the gang think they're ready for this threat, but they don't realize the forces they are playing with and how much their final battles will affect the future of their world forever.
But anyway, here is the long waited chapter for Bastion's duel with Jaden! Hope you all enjoy and PLEASE REVIEW/FAVORITE/FOLLOW!
Duel 4: Bastion the Analyst
Low-level Slifer Red Jaden Yuki, best known for his unexpected win against Dr. Crowler in the entrance exam has defeated high-ranked Obelisk Blue Chazz Princeton, the junior champion. Campus gossip spreads fast!
Bastion Misawa sat in the computer lab with his yellow Ra blazer on. He had his legs folded and hand placed firmly on the mouse as to continuously click the replay button to watch the end of a certain clip he had playing on his computer screen. A Slifer Red named Chumley had caught the duel on his phone.
"Dragonic Knight, time to take out the trash!" commanded Chazz, thrusting his arm out.
The large armored dragon lunged forward with its sword raised, ready to attack Kuriboh.
"My partner is not trash!" exclaimed Jaden. "We fight together and that makes us invincible!" He tapped a button on his disk and roared, "I activate a facedown spell: Transcendent Wings! Now by sending two cards from my hand to the graveyard, I can evolve Winged Kuriboh to level 10!"
Chazz gasped as Kuriboh let out a blinding light and evolved into a much more powerful form. This Kuriboh had much larger wings, a tail and wore a golden dragon crown.
Winged Kuriboh LV10: Attack 300
"Now show them your enhanced power buddy!" cheered Jaden. "During my opponent's battle phase, LV10 can sacrifice itself to destroy all enemy monsters in attack mode! In addition, those destroyed opposing monsters have their attacks deflected back onto my opponent as damage!"
Chazz let out a scream of horror as Winged Kuriboh LV10 let out a shining blast that obliterated his Dragonic Knight and ended the duel.
Chazz: 2500-0000
This time as the video ended, Bastion simply leaned back in his chair and thought the duel between Jaden and Chazz over.
"Jaden Yuki," he said to himself. "How did someone with his dueling talents end up in the red dorm? First he beats Crowler in the entrance exam and now this."
He didn't notice a certain blond haired Obelisk female entering the room silently with her arms folded.
"Researching Chazz and Jaden's duel huh?" stated the girl, catching Bastion off guard. "How like you."
Bastion turned to face the girl in his chair and replied, "Hi Alexis."
Alexis nodded in reply and leaned forward to look at the video on the computer screen while Bastion quickly stood up and took a step back.
"Everyone is totally shocked by Jaden's win over Chazz," Alexis noted. "What do you think Bastion?"
The Ra Yellow didn't reply straight away and was attempting to stop himself from blushing. "Well, I think we all knew it was possible. After all, no one is unbeatable. But I am disappointed about one thing."
Alexis stood up and turned to face Bastion.
"I wish I had been the one to break Chazz's winning streak," the Ra finished. He paused for a moment and looked at a picture of Jaden celebrating his victory on the computer. "But this sets up my next goal now. To beat the duelist who beat Chazz before I could."
Alexis leant against the desk before answering. "Being the highest ranking member of Ra Yellow and at the top of your class, how would you analyze Jaden?"
Bastion thought for a moment and folded his arms. "He's a bit of a jack-off in terms of his deck. His monsters are almost all Elemental HERO monsters, but the species are all over the place. The same goes for his spell and traps, most are also related to his HERO monsters or are used to support them."
"But there's that one major factor isn't there?" interrupted Alexis.
Bastion nodded. "Indeed," he responded. "His ace up the sleeve is his card drawing capability. He has the crazy knack for drawing the right card at the right time in nearly every duel. It also gives him the element of surprise."
Alexis agreed with a nod of her head. "I know right? No matter how tough a monster or position he is in, one lucky draw and he can flip the whole situation in his favor and win the match."
"I envy him," added Bastion. "He might actually be a genius."
"So," replied Alexis. "A careful analysis by Bastion Misawa the Philosopher concludes that Jaden Yuki is a genius?"
Bastion shrugged awkwardly. "I guess so. An average Joe like me can only study and work hard."
Alexis stood up and began to walk to the door. "Thanks for the theory," she stated. "See you around."
Bastion blushed slightly. "Um…yeah. Later Alexis."
He watched as she walked to the door and then stop suddenly when there was a beep from her pocket.
Alexis reached into her pocket and pulled out her mobile phone.
"Speak of the devil," she noted as she answered it and said, "Hey Jaden, what's up?" before exiting the room.
Bastion was in complete shock as he heard the some of the conversation.
"The Battle City DVD?" the Obelisk questioned. "Again? I just leant it to you."
Bastion's mouth had nearly hit the floor from shock and he watched as Alexis walked down the hall and out of sight.
"Jaden…"stuttered Bastion. "Called…Alexis…" He tried to regain his composure but finally snapped. "WHY?" he screamed, stunning some students walking by.
The Courtyard-
Bastion was wandering around aimlessly, his head lowered and his arms drooping. A large frown was evident across his face.
"How came Jaden knows her number?" he sighed with a groan when he looked up and saw Jaden talking with Syrus over at a bench.
"It's him," the Ra stated to himself before rushing towards the Slifers. "Jaden."
Jaden and Syrus were slightly stunned by Bastion's sudden appearance but didn't mention it.
"What's…up Bastion?" said Jaden, still a bit startled.
"Can I ask you something?" Bastion answered quickly.
Jaden shrugged. "Sure," he responded. "What is it?"
"Did you happen to call Alexis just a few minutes ago?" questioned Bastion.
"Yeah," the HERO duelist replied. "Why do you ask?"
"I was…just curious as to how you have her number," Bastion stuttered in reply, trying not to reveal how irritated he had been when he found out Jaden had Alexis' number.
"Alexis has a lot of reference stuff on dueling that I just got to have and see," Jaden explained. "One time I had her card catalogue and she needed it back right away but couldn't find me."
"She had to come all the way to our dorm," added Syrus.
"Yeah," continued Jaden. "So we exchanged numbers."
'Are you serious!' snapped Bastion in thought. 'Because of one little incident he gets her number!'
"I'm still a bit confused why you want to know so much?" stated Jaden.
Bastion stumbled for the right words but heard Jaden's phone going off and said, "Maybe you should answer that."
Jaden pulled out his phone and looked at it. "A text message from Alexis," observed the Slifer.
"Incredible timing," added Syrus next to him.
Bastion screamed in his mind. 'They text each other too!' he thought in a rage. 'I can't stand this!'
Jaden didn't seem to notice the look of rage plastered across Bastion's face and simply read the message Alexis had sent him.
"Oh no!" he panicked out loud. "She already leant the DVD to someone! How could she do this to me? I feel so betrayed!"
"I happen to have the Battle City DVD," interrupted Bastion. "And the Duelist Kingdom DVD as well."
Both Jaden and Syrus leapt off the bench at the same time thinking, 'the ultra, super rare Duelist Kingdom DVD! Must see it!'
"Please let us borrow it!" begged Jaden as he and Syrus got on their knees.
Bastion folded his arms. "Fine," he replied before adding, "Provided you win a duel against me: Bastion Misawa!"
Both Jaden and Syrus leapt up at the same time and angrily cried, "Come on! Don't be such a jerk and hold out on us!"
Bastion laughed to himself. "Here at the academy, everything should be decided or settled with a duel." He then grinned. "Or maybe you're afraid I might beat you?"
Jaden immediately got serious. "Me afraid? Never!" he declared. "I accept your challenge!"
"Come to think of it," interrupted Syrus to Bastion. "What happens if you win? Do you have something in mind?"
"Of course," answered the Ra. "If I win, you give me Alexis' contact info."
"EXCUSE ME?" cried Jaden and Syrus simultaneously as they held a hand to their right ear each. "YOU WANT WHAT?"
The two Slifers' sudden loudness had caught a couple of people's attention and Bastion waited till they stop looking before replying in a whisper, "I just want Alexis' contact info okay."
Jaden and Syrus looked at each other for a moment before bursting into insane laughter to the point they were almost crying.
Bastion wrapped his arms around both Slifers' necks and began dragging them away. "We need a place with less people! Stop laughing this instant!" he snapped at Jaden and Syrus.
Behind the Red Dorm-
Bastion and Jaden stood a few meters apart in a clearing with their duel disks on and decks in hand. The two duelists starred each other down.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" asked Jaden. "I mean, I'll just give her your info anyway."
"Where's the fun in that?" replied Bastion. "There's no way I'll just let you give it to me."
Syrus was watching from the side, still laughing a bit. 'If Bastion really had any pride,' he thought. 'He would ask Alexis for it directly.'
"Besides," Bastion continued as he inserted his deck and activated his disk. "Maybe I just want to fight the duelist who beat Chazz."
"You are on my list too," noted Jaden as he readied his deck and activated his disk as well. "Bastion Misawa – Ra's No. 1. Get ready!"
The two drew their five cards and fanned them out.
"Let's Duel!"
Jaden Yuki 4000 VS Bastion Misawa 4000
Turn 1: Bastion
"I take the initiative!" declared Bastion as he swiftly drew his card. He grinned at it and immediately slid it into his disk. "First, I'll play one card face down! Then I'll summon Fox Fire in defense mode!"
Fox Fire: Defense 200
There was a burst of fire from the ground and from it emerged a fox with a flaming tail. In addition, a reverse card appeared behind it.
"I think I'll end my turn there!" concluded Bastion.
"That's a cute little monster you got there," observed Jaden. "He looks so cuddly. I kind of want to walk over to it and hug it."
"Don't you know not to judge a monster by its appearance?" returned Bastion.
'And this monster is the first part of my victory equation,' he thought while allowing a small smile.
Turn 2: Jaden
"My move now! Draw!" cried Jaden as he drew his card. He looked at it and whistled. "Sweet! I think I'll set a card face down too!" he stated before slapping a card onto his disk. "Then I'll summon Elemental HERO Knopse in attack mode!"
Elemental HERO Knopse: Attack 600
There was a blast from the ground and from a hole emerged a small humanoid plant man made up of leaves and vines.
"Looks like you're going for cute too," joked Bastion.
"Who was the one who said not to judge a monster by its looks?" rebuffed Jaden. "Here I come! Knopse take out his monster with Seed Pellets!"
Knopse held its hands out and a barrage of seeds burst from them and bombarded Fox Fire, shattering it into a million pieces in an explosion.
"Now I activate the continuous trap card!" interrupted Bastion. "Go, Graveyard of Wandering Souls!"
Jaden gasped as the grass under their feat transformed into a combination of stone and rocky ground while tombstones rose around them with ghost-like spirits flying around.
"What is this?" the HERO duelist asked in shock.
"My trap!" explained Bastion. "You see, now whenever one of my monsters is sent to the grave in any way I get to special summon a Fireball token to my field!"
Jaden watched as the spirit of Fox Fire flew over to Bastion's field and transformed into a small fireball with eyes.
Fireball Token: Attack 100
"Another mini monster huh?" noted Jaden. "End of-"
"Hold it Jaden!" intersected Bastion. "The effect of Fox Fire kicks in now!"
"A special ability!" gasped Jaden.
Bastion grinned. "That's right!" he explained. "You see, on the turn the face up Fox Fire is destroyed by battle, he gets to come back! So rise again Fox Fire!"
Bastion took the card from his graveyard and slapped it down onto his disk, causing his monster to return.
Fox Fire: Attack 300
"A wall monster!" groaned Jaden.
Turn 3: Bastion
"My turn!" cried Bastion as he drew a card and assessed the field.
'Fox Fire isn't just a wall,' he thought. 'It can be used for other things. Knopse's attack is 600, so attacking with Fox Fire will only give me 300 points of damage.
"I'm prepared for the low damage!" the Ra declared as he pointed forward. "Go Fox Fire, attack Knopse!"
Jaden gasped as the Fox dashed towards his side of the field.
"Attacking when you know you're going to get nailed?" the Slifer questioned as he tapped a button on his disk. "Fine! You might as well get nailed hard then!"
"Excuse me?" retorted Bastion.
"I use the quick-play spell Rose Bud!" roared Jaden as his face down flipped up. "Now I can tribute Knopse and evolve him into a new monster! I call upon the Elemental HERO Poison Rose!"
Elemental HERO Poison Rose: Attack 1900
Knopse suddenly began to grow and bloomed into a woman wearing green leaf armor and a red suit underneath.
"What!" panicked Bastion.
"The second effect of Rose Bud allows me to force your monster to make Poison Rose the new attack target!"
"Way to go Jaden!" cheered Syrus from the sidelines.
"Annihilate them with Poison Blossom!" ordered Jaden as his monster unleashed a tornado of poison petals that blasted apart the opposing monster.
Bastion cried out as the attack sent him stumbling back.
Bastion: 4000-2400
'I didn't expect so much damage,' the Ra thought in annoyance. 'But my victory equation is not yet shaken.'
He took a card from his hand and inserted it into his disk. "I use the spell Graceful Charity!" he cried. "Now I draw three cards and send two to the grave!"
"And the point of that was?" questioned Jaden.
"Did you forget my trap?" replied Bastion with a grin.
"Oh no!" panicked Jaden. "Don't tell me those two cards you discarded were monsters?"
"Oh but they were!" Bastion declared. "Those two monsters plus my destroyed Fox Fire means I sent three monsters to the grave and therefore I get three new tokens!"
Three spirits floated down to the Ra's field and became fireballs.
Fireball Token: Attack 100
"I set two cards face down and end my turn!" finished Bastion as two reverse cards appeared at his feet. "In addition, since it's the end phase Fox Fire revives itself!"
Fox Fire: Defense 200
Jaden assessed Bastion's full field of monsters. 'What's he going to do with all of those tokens?' he thought.
"My victory equation," taunted Bastion. "Remains hidden by these red-hot burning souls."
Syrus itched his head and thought, 'Red-hot souls? Looks more like the green-eyes monster of envy to me.'
To be continued: Next Time – Terra Firma Gravity!
Jaden and Bastion's heated duel continues! Jaden is put in a tight spot as Bastion continuously stays one step ahead of him and forces him into a corner when he summons Goka, the Pyre of Malice! Can Jaden find a way to out think the incredible strategist Bastion, or will the Ra put and end to Jaden's winning streak once and for all?
Yeah, I put that reference about Chumley in there because I felt like it. His character is completely cut in the manga so I felt like he should at least get a mention. Also, Rose Bud became a quick-play spell because in the manga Jaden shouldn't have been able to activate it otherwise and it's other power about redirecting the attack to Poison Rose is also added because a replay should have occurred in the manga.
Anyway, hope you all enjoyed this chapter and remember to PLEASE REVIEW!
