Okay, here we are with the conclusion of Jaden and Alexis' duel! Hope you all enjoy this and as usual, REVIEW if you feel like it of course. I love feedback. Whether it'd be positive or negative. Constructive feedback is welcomed, not just praise. Now, for the review responses.

Sanokal: Yeah, it is obvious as to who Chazz voted for. I always found it amusing that they got rid of Chazz's crush in the manga and isnetad just gave it to Bastion.

Now, on to the duel! Hope you all enjoyed! Please REVIEW as always! Oh, and I altered the end of the duel a little because I felt like it. Anyways, Get Your Game On!

Duel 7: The Real Duelist

Alexis watched from her side of the field as Jaden slid Polymerization into his duel disk. She had two monsters guarding her, Cold Enchanter and Cyber Valkyrie. Enchanter was a mistress wearing blue clothing and had a cape and a scepter with a snowflake on the end of it. Valkyrie meanwhile was clad in green armor and wore a black visor.

Cold Enchanter: Attack 1600

Cyber Valkyrie: Defense 1500

Currently on Jaden's field meanwhile, was an orange, white and red armored HERO with flaming fists.

Elemental HERO Heat: Attack 1600

Jaden: 3800

Alexis: 4000

"I summon Elemental HERO Terra Firma!" roared Jaden as his mighty hero slammed down into the arena with a crash. The majestic white armored HERO shined red.

Elemental HERO Terra Firma: Attack 2500

"Sorry Alexis!" Jaden stated, grinning. "But I'm about to wrap this up!" He fist-pumped the air in front of him as he prepared to go into the battle phase.

'Sorry Jaden,' thought Alexis as she tapped a button on her disk. 'But Terra Firma will be the first to go!'

"I activate a trap card!" the Obelisk declared. "Cold Fusion!"

"What?" gasped Jaden in shock when Terra Firma suddenly became encased within a giant block of ice. "Hang on, what's happening?"

Alexis merely chuckled lightly to herself as Terra Firma's block of ice broke apart. As the icy chunks of the HERO smashed against the ground, a man composed of wood and grass appeared alongside a humanoid sea serpent wielding a staff. Both of these new monsters had the lower half of their bodies frozen.

Elemental HERO Woodsman: Attack 1000

Elemental HERO Ocean: Attack 1500

'What's happening?' panicked Jaden in thought. 'Why did Terra Firma get destroyed? And why are Woodsman and Ocean back from the graveyard? What trap card did Alexis activate?'

"I can't figure out what's happening," Syrus commented from the stands as he adjusted his glasses.

"That card," Bastion said as he looked straight at the trap Alexis had activated. "Is the card Cold Fusion. What a bold move from Alexis," he added, very impressed with the Obelisk's play.

"I used Cold Fusion," Alexis finally explained as she gestured to her card's hologram. "This allows me to destroy one of your fusion monsters and summon its materials back from the graveyard." She pointed to Woodsman and Ocean. "In addition, both of the resurrected materials get an Ice Counter placed on them."

Jaden took a step back, stunned by the whole ordeal. 'She used a Fusion Monster destruction card!' he thought in annoyance.

"With those Ice Counters freezing your monsters Jaden," Alexis piped up. "They are no longer permitted to change modes!"

"Crud," was the only response Jaden could come up with.

Sierra scowled as she stood watching from the side of the duel arena. Her arms were folded and she was glaring daggers at the HERO duelist.

'What's the matter Jaden?' she complained in her mind. 'Alexis is totally outclassing you. Did this guy really beat Chazz, or was it just a fluke?' She calmed herself down and smiled. 'I suppose it doesn't really matter. No matter who wins, I still get to become Miss Duel Academy.' She recalled the deal Alexis had made.

"If I win, I get to cancel my entry all together but if I lose, Sierra gets Jaden's vote and I accept the result!"

"Still," mused Sierra to herself. "Her losing, and looking worse then my is what I want. Come on Jaden."

"I'm not done yet!" declared Alexis. "I activate Cold Enchanter's special ability!" She slotted a card into her graveyard. "By discarding one card from my hand, I can place an Ice Counter on one of your monsters! I choose Heat!"

Jaden looked on in shock as Cold Enchanter's staff lit up and his monster became frozen from the waist down. With this counter, he'd no longer have the option of shifting his monster into defense mode.

The Slifer groaned. "I set a card face down and end my turn," he stated whilst sliding a card into his disk.

Turn 5: Alexis

I'll make your blood run cold Jaden,' Alexis thought as she drew her card. She looked over her hand before choosing a spell.

"I activate a field spell card!" she called out as the special slot on her disk opened. "Go, Absolute Zero Barrier! Now monsters with Ice Counters can no longer attack and they lose 500 attack points!"

"No!" cried Jaden as his monsters became fully encased in ice and were weakened.

Elemental HERO Heat: Attack 1600-1100

Elemental HERO Ocean: Attack 1500-1000

Elemental HERO Woodsman: Attack 1000-500

"Now I'll conclude by Main Phase 1 by switching Cyber Valkyrie to attack position!" explained Alexis as she turned the card on her disk into a vertical position. Valkyrie stood up and took a fighting stance in response.

Cyber Valkyrie: Attack 1300

"Battle Phase!" roared the Ice Duelist. "Cold Enchanter attacks Woodsman and Cyber Valkyrie attacks Ocean! Ice Barrage!"

Both of her monsters fired a large wave of ice shards at Jaden's monsters. But the Slifer tapped a button on his disk.

"Hold up!" Jaden interrupted. "I have a trap card! Go, Negate Attack! Now your two attacks are canceled and the Battle Phase automatically ends!"

A large vortex appeared on the field and swallowed up all of the ice shards raining towards Jaden's HEROes.

"This is only the beginning Jaden," taunted Alexis, unfazed by her opponent's counter. "I end my turn."

Turn 6: Jaden

"My turn! Draw!" declared Jaden as he drew his card. He glanced over at Alexis' field and sweat dropped.

'That Absolute Zero Barrier card and those Ice Counters make for a tricky combo,' he noted in thought. 'Even if I try to summon monsters to fight back, Alexis will just freeze them. I have to do something to get out of this jam.'

The HERO Duelist glanced at his draw and gasped as the sight of the card's name, Miracle Fusion. 'This card...'

Jaden slotted the spell into his hand and pulled another out and slapped it onto his disk. "I summon Elemental HERO Lady Heat in defense mode! Turn end!"

An orange and white armored woman with flame like spikes protruding from her shoulders burst onto the field from a ball of fire. She took knelt down and held her arms in front in a defensive stance.

Elemental HERO Lady Heat: Defense 1000

Turn 7: Alexis

"I draw!" Alexis declared as she began her turn. She glanced towards Jaden's newest monster.

'It doesn't matter how many monsters he has. As long as I have Absolute Zero Barrier and my Ice Counters, he can't lay a finger on me.'

She looked to her draw and grinned. "I activate Cold Enchanter's effect! I discard a card to place an Ice Counter on Lady Heat!"

Jaden's latest HERO suddenly became encased in ice just like its counterparts.

Elemental HERO Lady Heat: Attack 1300-800

"Now I'll sacrifice my two monsters!" exclaimed Alexis as she slammed a card onto her disk. "To tribute summon Ice Master!"

A mistress with long yellow hair wearing white garments appeared in a blast of white light. Her clothing had a blue trim and her white cape billowed around her. She wore a mask over her mouth, which was apart of the helmet on her head. She also wielded a long white specter with a large snowflake on the end of it.

Ice Master: Attack 2500

"Now I use her special ability!" roared Alexis as she threw her arm into the air. "I can send Absolute Zero Barrier to the graveyard and then I get to destroy all monsters with Ice Counters on them!"

"Oh no!" panicked Jaden as the snowflake on the end of Ice Master's scepter glowed and all of his monsters blew up. The Slifer flung his arms up to block the recoil from the explosions.

"Jaden's field has been completely wiped out!" Syrus commented in shock.

"Jaden has been helplessly cornered," Bastion replied as he gripped the bars of the railing in front of him. "Alexis is good."

"Direct attack Ice Master!" commanded Alexis as her monster blasted Jaden with a storm of snowflakes. The HERO Duelist cried out in pain as he was buffeted by ice and snow from Master's scepter.

Jaden: 3800-1300

The crowd had gone nuts by this point. Everyone was on Alexis' side.

"Alexis is awesome!"

"Her cards are insane!"

"Way to go Rhodes!"

"Jaden's going to lose!"

"End of turn," laughed Alexis.

'This can't be happening!' fumed Sierra. 'Alexis is going to win hands down! I can't believe this little Slifer brat beat Chazz. Either way, this Yuki boy is showing his red dorm colours now.'

Turn 8: Jaden

"Wow Alexis," Jaden complimented as he drew his card. 'You're an awesome duelist. But don't let your guard down yet. I'm far from beat."

"Bring it Jaden!" challenged Alexis.

"I activate a spell card from my hand!" Jaden cried. "Go, Miracle Fusion! Now by banishing Heat and Lady Heat from my graveyard, I can fuse them!"

"Another Fusion Summon?" questioned Alexis as Jaden's two fire HEROes reappeared before swirling together.

"I summon Elemental HERO Inferno!" exclaimed Jaden as a large muscular figure emerged from a blast of flames. This HERO wore white and orange armor with flaming spikes on its upper armor. The HERO also had large hands composed of magma.

Elemental HERO Inferno: Attack 2300

Alexis raised an eyebrow. "You're going to counter with that?" she stated, confused. "Ice Master has higher attack points."

"Inferno gains 1000 attack against a water monster!" retorted Jaden as his monster prepared to attack. "Burn them to ashes Inferno!" he ordered. "Attack with Blaze Canon!"

Inferno gathered a large ball of fire and larva in its hands before unleashing this as a stream of fire that sailed towards Ice Master.

Elemental HERO Inferno: Attack 2300-3300

"If it'll be like that, then I'll have to counter!" interrupted Alexis. "I activate a trap Doble Passe!"

There were gasps from the audience as Inferno's stream of fire curved around Ice Master and slammed into Alexis instead. The Obelisk was knocked back from the attack but she stood her ground and stepped forward again whilst standing tall.

Alexis: 4000-0700

"She shifted the attack to herself!" stated Syrus in confusion. "But why?"

"To win the duel with her trap," Bastion answered with dead seriousness. He knew the effect of Doble Passe.

"My trap allows me to turn your attack into a direct attack," Alexis explained. "And then, the original targeted monster gets to attack directly."

Jaden gasped. "Alexis…you…"

"I am a duelist," Alexis declared. "To achieve victory, I am willing to make sacrifices."

The crowd went silent as Alexis spoke. They seemed to be entranced by the Ice Duelist.

'She's so beautiful,' Bastion thought as he gazed at his crush. 'And now she's victorious.'

"What makes her so committed?" Sierra asked herself. "It's just a stupid beauty contest." Suddenly, she finally saw the truth.

"I couldn't care less about the contest. Being Miss Duel Academy means nothing to me."

"Thanks to my trap's effect!" cried Alexis. "Ice Master gets to attack directly and with that, this duel is over!"

As her monster charged forward with its powered up scepter, Jaden grinned however.

"You're a great duelist Alexis!" Jaden stated with his usual cocky smile. "But this duel is mine! I activate the quick-play spell I drew! Go, Reverse Wave-Motion!"

"A quick-play spell!" gasped Alexis.

"Here's how it works!" Jaden replied. "If I'd take damage due to a trap or spell in any way, including a trap allowing a direct attack, the damage gets negated! And all those points I should have lost get taken out of your life instead!"

'A damage counter card!' thought Alexis, who could only watch on in shock. Her monster continued its attack, but a translucent shield protected Jaden, and the energy blasted backwards towards her. 'It's over…I lose…' She lowered her head as the blast smashed into her.

Alexis: 0700-0000

Winner: Jaden Yuki

"Okay," said the MC as he approached Jaden, Alexis and Sierra. "Mr. Yuki won the duel, so his vote for Miss Duel Academy goes to Sierra Kohinata. Now is everybody happy?" he asked.

Alexis nodded. "Sure," she responded. "Like I said before, I'd accept the final result."

"You must be joking," Sierra piped up. Alexis turned to her, confused. "After a duel like that, there's no way I can take the vote." She avoided eye contact with the Ice Duelist.

"Look Alexis," said Jaden as he placed his arms behind his head. Alexis looked up to the crowd and saw that, despite her losing, everyone was cheering for her.

"Alexis! Alexis! Alexis! Alexis! Alexis!"

"I mean, how could I claim the title of Miss Duel Academy now?" Sierra added. "No one would support me." She turned and walked away. "Even I can see that someone deserves it more."

"I just wanted to be recognized as a duelist..." said Alexis, quietly to herself. "...And not just as a pretty girl. Because that's the path I choose to walk. The duelist's path."

"But everyone recognizes you as a duelist Alexis," Jaden chirped. "Just look at them cheering for you. You are a true duelist to them."

"Alexis! Alexis! Alexis! Alexis! Alexis!"

Alexis smiled as she and Jaden took in the cheer of the crowd.

"Bastion…" Syrus muttered to his Ra friend. "You're being a weirdo."

"Alexis!" cried Bastion with all his might from the stands, along with the rest of the crowd.

To Be Continued: Next Time – Friends Till the End!

When things go wrong as usual, Jaden and Syrus are forced to duel each other! But there's a catch! If Jaden loses, the Slifer will lose his most precious deck! But if Syrus loses, he'll be expelled! Will the two duelist's friendship survive their final duel?
