"C'mon, Eevee, we're so close!" Lyra cheered as the tan pokémon stood against her opponent. A Growlithe bared it's teeth, tired from the battle it had gone through, though not willing to give up. Lyra whined internally. It made her sad, hurting the little guy, but he was so cute and she had to have him! "Use Swift!"
The brown fox leapt up, tail glowing as it unleashed a flurry of stars. The Growlithe flinched, whimpering as the stars hit him. Lyra dug through her bag for a moment, gripping a Great Ball in her hand, grinning.
"Aaaaaand go!" she exclaimed, throwing the device at the fire-type. It sucked the pokémon in, and it shook, once, twice, three times...
Just as Lyra was sure the capture was a success, the pokéball cracked for a moment, the burst in a flash of light, releasing the stubborn pokémon. He lunged at Eevee, clamping fiery teeth around her neck. Lyra gasped.
"Eevee, Bite!" she ordered. Eevee clamped her own fangs around Growlithe's ear, causing him to wince slightly. Eevee ground her teeth tighter, causing the other pokémon to yelp in pain. Eevee took the opening and released the Bite on his ear and swung her tail around, powered up in an Iron Tail. It slammed into his stomach, winding him slightly.
While Eevee did that, Lyra dug out another pokéball, this time an Ultra Ball.
"Better safe than sorry." she mumbled, rearing her arm back. "Here we go!" she whizzed the pokéball at Growlithe, sucking the pokémon inside it again. Eevee panted in exasperation as the pokéball shook again. It stopped, and then a ding sounded, indicating Growlithe was successfully caught. Lyra blinked, then grinned victoriously, throwing a fist in the air as she scooped up Eevee. "We did it, we did it~!" she sang out, Eevee crying out her name happily.
Lyra scooped up Growlithe's pokéball, frowning slightly.
"Don't worry, little guy." she muttered, planting a small kiss on the top of the pokéball as Eevee scrambled on her shoulder, looking at her new partner, as if waiting for him to pop out and start battle again. "We'll get you to a pokémon center and get you all fixed up."

Silver stared up at the burned out shell of a building, furrowing his brow as he glanced it over. As he neared closer and closer to this city, he had kept getting this feeling, like something was drawing him to this tower. Though his initial thoughts wanted him to go to the gym, he ended up taking a sharp turn and heading towards the tower.
Being on the run from Mask, police, and multiple people whom he's stole from, Silver ended up working with a mix of gut instinct and logic. He knew the risk of using to much of either; to much gut, and he could get himself in a reckless situation, to much logic, he would react to slowly to the situation. It was very rare for one to overtake the other, which is why he was so surprised when his instinct seemed to completely take over, leading him to a burned out shell of a tower.
He turned to a random old man that sat on a bench in front of the stairs, a white beard hanging from his face as he sat with his hands folded.
"What's this place?" Silver asked him. The old man turned his head to him, blinking curiously.
"This is what was once the Brass Tower. It was the resting place of Lugia, the legendary diving pokémon. Here is where three people met: A noble woman of astounding beauty, a selfish man of unwavering courage, and an adventurous man without fear. They worked long and tirelessly, one training to be as graceful as water, one fighting to be as strong with a blade as the fire, and the other to be as swift as lightening. One day, however, a fire started when lightening hit the top of tower, quickly consuming the building. At this time, Lugia unleashed a rainstorm to quell the flames, but not without a price. The three humans had a pokémon with them, a pokémon they cherished more than anything. They perished in the fire."
Silver crossed his arms, slightly bored with the tale.
"Lugia, unable to help the mourning humans, fled to take refuge somewhere else while it's counterpart, Ho-oh, flew off from the Bell Tower in search of a pure-hearted trainer. The three humans despaired over their lost partners, unable to go on. So they travelled far to a shrine were a priestess was said to have a contract with a pokémon who could go back in time. They begged and pleaded for her to contact the pokémon, give them a chance to save their beloved partners. But she could not, for the pokémon was but fleeting. She held no control, but could offer their prayers to Ho-oh and Lugia.
"And thus they prayed. They spent every day praying, rain or shine, in the smoldering heat or the blistering cold. They prayed out of the hope of getting their beloved partners back. Ho-oh, hearing their prayers, pitied them. Thus he revived them into three mythical beasts; Raikou, to represent the lightening that started the fire, Entei, to represent the flames that burned the tower, and Suicune, to represent the rain that quelled the flames." he paused.
"The legendary beasts reunited with their partners, though not without complications. The fearless adventurer had to climb a mountain riddled with lightening storms and then had to throw himself from the mountain to prove his trust. The selfish swordmaster had to save a village filled with orphan children from the flames of Entei, risking his own life. The woman had to give up her noble title, facing death or exile for treachery against her country."
Silver scoffed at that. Who would pay their lives over the bond and trust of a single pokémon? Those humans in this legend were weak. They were allowing themselves to be controlled by measly pokémon.
"They followed the tasks. The adventurous man was viewed as a hero, riding atop the great Raikou and across the lands, leaping bounds and visiting countless places. He disappeared in a flash of lightening. The selfish man protected the village, proving he deserved the trust of Entei. He later disappeared in a puff of smoke. The noble woman was viewed with hatred, chased out of the village to be executed. She ran to Suicune, and sank under the water of a lake. Neither of the three were ever seen again." he sighed, smiling slightly, as if he enjoyed telling the story.
"Though there is nothing but charred out remains, the three legendary beasts still reside there, in the tower in which they died, waiting..."
"What are they waiting for?" Silver asked. In truth, he was actually a bit intrigued by this story. The old man shrugged in response.
"No one knows. No one is allowed to get close under order of Morty, the gym leader of this town." there was a pause. "Though it is said that they are waiting for their beloved humans to return to them." he glanced at Silver. "Morty often spends his time here, in the tower. Are you a trainer who wishes to battle him?"
"Perhaps." Silver muttered, walking past the man and up the stone stairs. His feet hit the creaky wood, the boards seeming to shift under his feet as he glanced around. It was vacant, though he spotted two men, one wearing a white cape and a second with blond hair. The former was staring into a gaping hole in the floor while the latter was studying some charred remains. The rest of the tower, however, was vacant of people.
Silver eased himself around a post, glancing about. Yes, he decided, there was something calling for him here... He knew this building... somehow...

Lyra walked out of the pokémon center, glancing around with a hand over her eyes to shade them from the sun.
"What to do first? There's the gym, and I know that since we evolved Snowrunt into Froslass, she's wanted to visit the dance studio..." she trailed off, scratching Eevee's ears. "I think I'll go to the dance studio first. I'm sure it would really please Froslass." Eevee chirped happily as Lyra began walking.
She only managed to walk a few steps from the pokémon center before a shot of emotion went up and down her spine, causing her to stop in her tracks. Eevee blinked at the sudden halt, batting her paw at Lyra's cheek as she looked at that the two towers. Her brow was furrowed as he stared at the towers.
"This place..." she thought, entranced. "There's something about this place... I know it... yet something... something is different...?"
She was broken out of her revere as someone rudely slammed into her, making her jerk around. Eevee barked at the rude fellow who nearly knocked her down as Lyra stared at the black uniform with a dazed look on her face. Eevee batted at her face again, wining as she licked her cheek in concern.
Lyra, finally snapping out of her revere, turned to the fox, smiling slightly.
"I'm okay, girl. Just thinking." she laughed, turning to go to the dance studio. Entering the building, she slipped off her red shoes out of respect and set them aside, then walked inside. Already, she saw several people sitting on mats on the floor, some pokémon scattered about as well. On the stage was a beautiful girl whom reminded her of the one she ran into back in Violet City was dancing. It was a slow, hypnotizing dance, something that was mystifyingly beautiful. She reached to her belt, silently as so not to disturb the dance, and let out her Froslass.
The pokémon hummed it's name, blinking in surprise as it looked about, then clapped her hands together in glee, hovering gently next to Lyra as the trainer kneeled down to watch the woman dance. Everyone watched in awed silence until a sudden, and loud, snort echoed in the room.
A man dressed in black stomped up on stage, interrupting the performance.
"Why do you keep doing such serious dances? Show me a fun dance!" he exclaimed, stomping his foot much akin to a child. Though it was a small crowd, everyone reacted. One old woman scoffed at his rudeness, another younger man shifted nervously. An old man glared at the audacity for him to go up and so blatantly insult a kimono girl. The kimono girl on stage took a gentle step back, hesitant.
"You mustn't force such a request on me..." she whispered softly. This sent the crowd into an uproar.
"Get off the stage!" someone shouted.
"You're disrupting the performance, you disgrace!"
"Oh, shaddup!" shouted the grunt, stomping his foot and sending out a pokémon. Lyra immediately leapt into action, ordering her Froslass to attack. The Koffing fainted immediately. The grunt winced, taking a step back from Lyra before something on his belt beeped.
"Oh, shoot!" he exclaimed. "If the boss finds out I've been slacking off here, I'll be demoted for sure!" he hurried out of the dance studio with a panicked expression on his face.
"Are you okay?" Lyra asked the kimono girl, whom climbed down the stage to thank her.
"I am fine." she said, smiling. "I am Miki. You must be Lyra, correct?"
"Hm? Oh, yeah! That's me!" Lyra said, grinning. Miki smiled.
"That was indeed excellent. Kind and strong… Good at raising Pokémon as well… That person does know what to look for in people… Ohoho! That was just me talking to myself. Never mind." she waved her hand in front of her face, as if waving off the subject. "Anyways, that pokémon you have next to you has evolved from the Snorunt, correct?"
"Yep! Isn't Froslass beautiful? She really wanted to visit here."
"To put your pokémon's needs before your own... that is admirable." she sighed, looking off in the distance. "For Kimono Girls like me, dancing is everything. I have never gone a day without a dance practice. Pokémon are the same. They grow with you little by little each day."
"Me and my pokémon never miss a day of training! We try as hard as we can to be as strong as we can!" Lyra smiled brightly.
"Really? Then I hope one day to have the chance to battle you myself." Miki stated, nodding. "I'm sure with an attitude like that and the kindness you show, you'll be a formidable force."

"That... is so cool!" Lyra exclaimed to the old man whom had just told her a long legend. "To be so devoted to one's pokémon... I wanna be like that one day too!"
"Such spirit... Ah, what it must be like to be young." the old man stated, smiling warmly. "Anyways, Morty should be inside if you wish to battle him."
"Thank you!" Lyra said, waving to him as she bounded up the steps, grinning at the prospect of challenging another gym leader. She stepped inside, and immediately halted her quick and heavy steps as the wood shifted and creaked under her feet.
"You should be careful around here." stated a man in a purple suite with a white cape as he approached her. "It's quite unsafe. It's likely to collapse at any moment if you don't watch your step."
"Thank you." Lyra grinned, cradling her Eevee in her arms.
"Is that an Eevee in your arms, young miss?" the man asked, staring at the brown fox. Lyra smiled.
"Yes, yes she is."
"My name's Eusine." the man said, holding out his hand for a handshake. "I'm on the tail of a Pokémon named Suicune. And you are?"
"I'm Lyra." she said.
"Lyra? Glad to meet you! I have certain theory about a connection between the legendary beasts and the pokémon Eevee." he let out a flourish with his hand, as if preparing to tell a great story. "Once upon a Pokéball, there were-"
"Three great people of different linages who came to the to the tower to train. A fire came and burned the tower to the ground, killing their faithful pokémon. They travelled to a priestess whom had a strong bond with the pokémon that could travel through time, though she could only offer their prayers to Ho-oh. Ho-oh revived the pokémon into the legendary beasts, but the three had to complete tests to gain the trust of them. Each of them suddenly disappeared and the three beasts came back to this tower where they died with hopes of reuniting with their lost trainers."
"Why, yes. Did that old man outside tell you the legend?"
"Yes, though in more words."
"Grandpa! Always stealing my spotlight!" he cried with another dramatic flourish. "Regardless," he sighed, adjusting his red tie. "I believe that the three pokémon in the tower were not the eevee evolutions Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon as historians believe. I think that they were Eevee's and Ho-oh evolved them when he was reviving them. But instead of becoming Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon like Ho-oh had intended, they gained an enormous surge of power, becoming instead Entei, Raikou, and Suicune. They were so powerful that Arceus granted them the title of god-hood, Suicune, the Aurora pokémon, Entei, the Volcano pokémon, and Raikou, the thunder pokémon."
He reached out after finishing his tale, and patted Eevee on her head.
"I heard rumors that Suicune is in this Burned Tower, today. As in, true fact rumors. So I came to look. But where exactly could it be?"
"Hopefully you find it, Eusine!" Lyra smiled. "I came here because I felt kinda connected to the place, so I thought I'd check it out!"
"Connected, hm?" Eusine muttered. "Judging by your mannerisms and attire, you're not from here, are you?"
"Never been here before in my life. First time visiting, actually." Lyra said thoughtfully, tapping her finger to her chin. Eusine smiled.
"Did you know? Reincarnations often feel connected to places important to their past selves. Maybe you were once a priestess who worked here!" Lyra laughed at this.
"Maybe!" she giggled. At that they parted ways, Eusine going to talk to a man with blond hair and Lyra going to investigate a gaping hole in the middle of the floor. She looked over it, and widened her eyes.
She did not recognize the three pokémon, but she knew they were not the average, run-of-the-mill wild pokémon living in the area. They were huge, way bigger than anything she had ever seen, and so majestic and different in their own ways, she knew they had to be important. The yellow pokémon had an air of wild coolness about it. It was pacing back and forth, as if impatient. The brown pokémon seemed to have a tough air of it, rolling it's eyes at the impatient nature of the yellow pokémon.
The final pokémon seemed to be a picture of beauty.
It had a long main of purple fur that seemed to flow like water despite the lack of wind. It was blue with white designs on it, and it silently stood with it's eyes closed, as if sensing the surrounding area. Suddenly, it snapped open it's eyes to look at her, a somewhat cold gaze that held an... intrigued look? The other two pokémon glanced up at her, also curious.
Suddenly, there was an overwhelmingly loud noise that seemed to have come from not far from her left. She screamed as wood and other debris flew at her, then widened her eyes when she realized something. She had screamed, she could feel her voice going hoarse from the action. But she had not heard it.
Her ears were ringing. The tower shook. Suddenly, a hand grabbed her wrist, clamping tightly. She blinked. She was half leaning over the edge of the hole she was looking over, yet she was frozen in shock. She was having trouble registering that her savior was not Silver, like she was used to, but the blond man.
"Had I gotten used to him saving me?" she wondered, laughing on the inside. "Silver, the knight in shining armor."
The man was speaking, yelling. He was looking to the side, yelling at whomever who was in his gaze. Lyra turned her head and she saw Eusine looking over the edge of the hole, a panicked expression on his face. She could not hear what he was saying. Eevee's claws were clamping into her shoulder. The building shook again, and something else blew up. Eusine covered his head, stepping back to avoid getting hit by anything. The blond man yelled again as he turned to look at her, a slightly panicked expression on her face. She was loosing her grip.
A third explosion, and she was smelling smoke. She was choking. She couldn't breathe. She couldn't hear. She could barely see.
And now she was falling.
o.0.o.0.o
Lyra groaned as she shifted, wood shifting under and over her.
"Why does this always happen to me?" she muttered.
She sat up, moaning in pain as she felt multiple scratches separate and reopen from the pain, bruises becoming painfully evident. She glanced at her arms, wincing at the splinters and blood that trailed from cuts. Her socks were torn up, legs bleeding, and one of the straps on her overalls had snapped, dangling by her back. One of her pigtails had come loose, and her hat laid down next to her. She pulled off the other ponytail holder and pulled her hair back into a low ponytail at the back of her head. Her ears were ringing, and sounds seemed to have some sort of echo effect, but she could hear. She whipped her head around in search of her bag, and saw it laying to the side, surprisingly in good condition.
Crawling over to it, she picked it up, smiling.
"I suppose it was meant to last. This poor thing is going through hell and back with me." she smiled. She ran her hand along her pokéballs, counting all six, and then a lump of panic rose up in her throat. "Eevee." she covered her hands over her mouth. "Eevee! Eevee, please answer me! Eevee!"
"Eeeeveee!" the shout rang out, responding to her. Lyra gasped, scooping up her bag, crawling close to the sound. She saw a little ball of brown fur jumping around, crying out it's name.
"Eevee!" Lyra exclaimed as the pokémon bounded into her arms, both trainer and pokémon crying. "Eevee, I'm so sorry! I'm a bad trainer! A bad, bad trainer! I'm sorry!"
Eevee responded simply by licking her cheek.
"Okay. We'll be okay." Lyra said, taking a look around. "You okay? No boo-boo's?" Eevee nodded. Lyra nodded, holding Eevee close as she looked around. There was a ton of wood on the ground, some pieces smoldering slightly, making it slightly hard to breathe. She saw some light from the huge hole in the ceiling, and judging from the stone steps, she was in the basement. She did not find a ladder or anything that indicated a way out, though.
Eevee wriggled in her arms, and leapt out of her grasp, bounding over to something else. Lyra shakily stood, pain shooting up her leg from her ankle. Wincing, she knelt back down. Sprained ankle...
She crawled after Eevee, trying to be careful with her ankle, and saw her jumping around something. Lyra walked over, helping Eevee get the wood off of whatever was bothering her. She saw a flash of red, though it was not blood. It was a bright, vivid color that seemed to pop up continually on her journey.
"Silver!" she cried out as she began heaving more pieces of wood off of him. "Silver, please be okay!"
Like her, his clothes were torn up, though she noticed that, with more clothes covering him, he had less cuts, he did not escape the bruises. And she was pretty sure his arm wasn't supposed to be bent like that...
"Crap." she muttered, tears dribbling down her face when he didn't wake up. She was alone, had no idea what happened or what was going on, Silver was unconscious with a broken arm and Arceus knows what else, and she couldn't walk. Her lip quivered. Then she tilted her head back and wailed. "Daddy! Help me!" she began to sob, not even bothering to wipe her tears or her nose. "I don't know what to do! I'm hurt, Silver's hurt, and I'm scared!" she hiccuped, then began to wail again.
"Shut... up..."
Lyra snapped her head down to Silver, one eye open in a half glare, blood from the wound on his head trailing over the other. He ground his teeth together.
"Your wailing is... annoying... and you look like... like shit when you cry."
"You're alive!" Lyra wailed.
"I said... be quiet... I've gotta headache." He tried to move himself to sit up, but let out a sharp cry as the pain began kicking in.
"No! No moving!" Lyra cried out. "I don't know what's wrong, but... but your arm is bent funny and... I don't know what else could be wrong..." she reached up, wiping her eyes and nose, trying to calm down. She gripped his hand, glad for the company as he took deep, pained breaths, trying to hide it. "You're gonna be okay. We'll be fine. Do you have all your pokémon?"
He didn't respond, hissing in pain. She heard footsteps behind her, and stiffened. Slowly, Lyra released his hand and turned, smacking her own hands against her face in an effort to focus. She saw the brown pokémon from before, the tough looking one, approaching them.
"Silver... a big pokémon is coming... I'll defend us!"
Silver grunted. Lyra swallowed. No insult to her being weak? He really must be hurt...
"No need to worry, Silver!"
