Kakashi sighed deeply.

Here goes...

"Sasuke, there's a lot I have to tell you so just calm down and listen to what I have to say okay? Also, don't yell or you'll wake up everyone."

The Uchiha frowned, unhappy but she was curious so she complied and Kakashi went on.

"While Itachi was ANBU Captain, I was his co-captain."

Sasuke was surprised, she would have never guessed the two knew each other but then again she wondered, just how did ANBU ever tolerate Kakashi's lateness?

Kakashi spoke again, not allowing Sasuke to wonder further, "Itachi and I were close. We were friends and he talked about you and Hinata a lot. He loved you, the both of you."

"He talked about me? With you?"

The masked jounin nodded and smiled, "He always told me how cute he found you; following him around and trying to be like him."

Sasuke flushed, "T-that was a long time ago."

"Even so, he was very proud to be your brother Sasuke."

Then it came, memories of Itachi came back to her like a flood; all the good times like when Itachi bandaged up her leg, taught her Konoha history and helped her with her Academy homework.

Sasuke looked down at her hands, refusing to make eye contact with her sensei, "That Itachi died when he went insane and killed everyone in the Uchiha clan except me Kakashi."

"Are you sure about that?"

Sasuke looked up, angry, "I saw it!"

"That's not what I meant and don't yell. I told you that" hissed the grey-haired jounin.

"Fine then what the hell did you mean?" Sasuke asked through clenched teeth.

"I am well aware of Itachi's abilities as his co-captain so I have no problem believing that he took out the clan by himself. What I do question however is whether he did it of his own free will."

Sasuke was confused now, "What are you implying? That Itachi was forced to do what he did?"

"Perhaps...or it was something he had to do and there was no other choice."

Sasuke deadpanned, "Why do you think this?"

Kakashi looked at his student in the eye as he spoke, "Your older brother came to me that morning."

The genin blinked but before she could open her mouth, her sensei went on.

"He told me to look after you. Itachi's exact words were, "Please look after my younger brother Kakashi. I do love him very much and I hope for him to grow up a strong and good shinobi. I only want what is best for him."

Sasuke's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Sasuke, your brother did not spare you because he wanted you to be an avenger. He just could not bear to kill his baby brother."

Sasuke closed her eyes.

Is what Kakashi saying, all true?

Then, she remembered Kakashi mentioning Hinata.

"Itachi told you about his engagement to Hinata right?"

"Yes, he loved her very much. Itachi called her 'Angel'"

Sasuke leaned back against the pillows, "Why didn't she tell me? Or talk to me?"

"She did"

"What?"

Kakashi sighed deeply, "I was at the mass funeral. When Hinata tried to talk to you, you told her you didn't have time for stupid fangirls and that you didn't know her. That girl left there in tears and was crushed."

Sasuke facepalmed, "Fuck"

"You also said worse things, depressing things. You-"

The genin cut him off, feeling really sick to her stomach at the moment, "Kakashi. I get it. I want to sleep now."

The masked jounin nodded, "You should. Try and get some sleep."

I doubt it…

"But"

"But what Kakashi?"

"I think I should take you to the Yamanaka Inoichi, Ino's father tomorrow. He should be able to help us figure out this painful flashback problem."

"And what if he can't?"

"We'll talk to Tsunade-sama"

Sasuke sighed, Kakashi made the whole solution sound so easy. Then she realized what he said.

"You said tomorrow but I'm still on the vacation!"

"Sasuke, this thing that you're going through is causing you pain. It is not something you can put off or ignore. Iam your sensei thus your safety is my number one priority."

With another sigh, heavier than the last; Sasuke moved to lie down, her eyes still locked with Kakashi's.

"Do you really think the Uchiha Massacre is more than what it seems?"

Kakashi picked up the covers and tucked Sasuke in who did not protest surprisingly and just laid there, "I like to think so. Uchiha Itachi was a good man from what I remember. The kind man who spoke so fondly of his younger brother and his fiancee can't just turn to a madman overnight, slaughtering an entire clan."

Sasuke closed her eyes, breaking the eye contact and turned to face the other side.

"Oyasumi"

"Oyasumi Sasuke"

The next morning, Itachi was the first to wake up. Hinata's arms were wrapped around him, her head resting on his arm and her face buried in his chest. Itachi smiled seeing this so he moved his other arm to fondly cup her face with his free hand. He kisses her forehead gently and rests his forehead against hers, feeling nostalgic.

Team Weasel which consisted of himself, Hinata, Naruto and Sai used to sleep like this. They would all share one big blanket, cuddled together. Naruto would sleep on the furthest right with Sai on his left. Itachi remembered Naruto had the habit of drooling on his pale teammate which almost always caused Sai to send his ink animals to prank him on the journey home as payback. The thought made him chuckle and Hinata stirred but she continued to stay in dreamland.

Itachi kisses her forehead again, remembering how Hinata rested her head on his chest whenever They slept together. Sai slept on her right and usually had his hand resting on her stomach but neither of them minded.

Itachi missed Team Weasel. The trio were like younger siblings to him minus Hinata of course. Their missions together were easily accomplished because they worked like a well oiled machine when they were together. Their trainings were always amusing because the trio playfully argued often. Plus, they were all so unique and brilliant. Konoha was lucky to have such talented ninjas on their payroll.

"Ita-?"

The Uchiha blinked and looked down to see Hinata was waking up.

"Morning beautiful"

"S-shut up...I look like crap..." muttered the younger girl, trying to open her eyes.

Itachi chuckled and lifted her face to kiss her on the lips.

"You never will love. You'll always be beautiful."

Hinata smiled beneath the kiss before insulting him.

"Idiot"
