Sasuke: When am I getting NaruSasu?

Hime: Soooooon~

Sasuke: *annoyed* Hurry the fuck up!

Hime: Bitch you can't tell me what to do!

Sakura: *sweadrop* Hime owns nothing!

Sasuke and Sakura sat together at the campsite, waiting for the guys to come back with the firewood. Sakura was reading her medic journal quietly while Sasuke lied down and thought to herself as she stared up at the clouds. However, the silence between them was broken didn't last long.

"Hey Sasuke?"

"Yeah?"

Sakura's voice was gentle as she spoke,"You've been really quiet since we left Suna. You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just thinking..."

"About Hinata?" the pinkette probed.

"Yeah, I really don't know what to make sense of it all honestly. I had no idea Hinata and I were close..."

Sakura closed her medic journal making Sasuke turn to her in wonder. Sakura met her onyx black eyes with her brilliant green ones.

"I saw you two sometimes at the Academy."

Sasuke blinked and waited for Sakura to finish.

"Your brother almost always was picking you up from school. One time, I followed you and I found Hinata waiting a couple of blocks away from school so that you and your brother could walk her home. I followed you for a month and I realized that you did that everyday."

Sasuke wasn't sure what to feel now; on one hand he was a little creeped out that Sakura had just admitted to following her in the past but on the other hand, her stomach churned now knowing that she and Hinata had a regular routine back at the Academy.

"What else?"

Sakura was thoughtful as she spoke, "Before the massacre, I saw you guys give each other looks or smiles or waves but it was subtle so nobody really noticed. But after the massacre, there was one time I saw Hinata walk pass you in the hall but you snubbed her when she said hi."

Sasuke groaned, "Do you think Hinata will forgive me if I tell her about my forgotten memories?"

Sakura shrugged unsure and Sasuke just sighed in response.

"Hey Sasuke?"

"Yeah?"

"Yesterday you said Sai told you that Naruto and Hinata were close. Is that really true?"

Sasuke blinked her eyes in surprise, "Well whenever I got sick, he brought Hinata over to help me so I guess they are close. Why?"

Sakura frowned, her mind working furiously, "All I remember about the two of them interacting was that Hinata was super shy who watched him closely from afar and Naruto thought she was just some weirdo dark girl. Were they really close? Or did it happen after the Chuunin Prelims?"

"What happened at the Prelims?"

"Naruto defended Hinata against her cousin Neji calling her strong. Neji was verbally abusive and almost killed Hinata in their match. She was bedridden for an entire month afterwards. When the finals finally came, Naruto avenged Hinata at the finals by winning his match against Neji."

"Neji?" Sasuke repeated, the name sounding familiar. Sakura nodded causing her teammate to have another flashback.

Flashback

"My cousin Neji hates me"

"Why Hina-chan?" Sasuke asked, confused. "You're always so nice and polite!"

The Hyuuga heiress laughs, "He blames me for his father's death and he despises the Main House."

"Oooh so he's a Branch member?"

Hinata nods.

"I think the two of you will patch up soon, you guys are family after all."

"You really think so?"

"I'm sure of it."

Sasuke smiles widely and Hinata giggles causing Sasuke to see a large bruise around her wrist. The Uchiha grabs it without a moment's thought causing the Hyuuga to flinch.

"Your father?"

Hinata looks away from him and nods causing Sasuke to frown.

"I promise I'll grow up to be strong and protect you forever."

End of Flashback

Sasuke was screaming from the pain in her head and Sakura didn't know what to do because the Uchiha kept thrashing about making it difficult for the Haruno girl to hold her friend down.

"What's happening?!"

Sakura turned to see Naruto looking panicked and Kakashi next to him who just entered the area.

"Help me!"

Half an hour later, Sasuke woke up exhausted and her throat feeling scratchy.

"Hey you're awake!"

The girl turned to see her teammates and her sensei looking at her. "Are you okay?" Kakashi asks gently, passing her a canteen to drink from. Sasuke mumbles a quiet thanks but doesn't answer his question and proceeds to drink from the canteen.

Sakura was curious and wondered what she saw this time so she pressed, "Sasuke, talk to us. What did you see this time?"

The Uchiha passed the canteen to Kakashi and looked down, to avoid eye contact with anyone else, "Hinata and I were talking about Neji when we were younger."

Sakura blinked realizing that Neji's name triggered the memory, "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry I shouldn't have-"

"Enough. I just...gosh I feel like crap."

It was the second time in Naruto's life and a first for everyone else to see Sasuke cry.

Tears fell down the Uchiha's face as she spoke and along the way; she cried harder, distressed, "Hinata and I were friends. We were so close and I fell in love with her along the way. But after the massacre, I blocked her out of my memory and I snubbed her completely. I became a complete prick and an asshole and fuck she must have think I was such dick! I don't deserve how nice she is to me now! I don't deserve it all! I forgot about her! I completely forgot about someone I loved for my dark path of vengeance. What does that say about me? That I am emotionless? That I became cold?"

Sakura and Kakashi just stared in surprise that Sasuke Uchiha was actually crying but Naruto knew better. The pale girl had more to say.

"I HATE ITACHI!" Sasuke screamed. "It's because of him I lost Hinata! If he didn't kill everyone, at least she would be by my side! So what if she loved him and he loved her? I would have still been there to support her and she would have supported me! I could have been there for her to help her through her crappy relationships with Neji and her father! I fucking promised to grow up strong and protect her! But did I do that? NO! I fucking forgot her! Became cold and ignored her! Just what kind of person would forget about someone they loved and cared about so much? What kind of monster am I?! Itachi made me into this monster and I hate him for it! I HATE ITACHI!"

Sasuke sobbed uncontrollably, her body shaking as she cried. Sakura and Kakashi were still dumbfounded but Naruto knew what he had to do. He bent down and hugged Sasuke tightly, "I'm here Sasuke. I'm here."

Sasuke gripped Naruto's shirt as she cried into his chest and Naruto let her, not caring in the least making Sasuke feel grateful, she had never felt so much pain in her heart.

Sasuke: Did you have to make me into a crying mess?

Hime: You got Naruto to hug you so shut up.

Sakura and Ino: YEAH! BE GRATEFUL BITCH! *extremely jealous*

Sasuke: *snorts*
